History
Established in 1978.
From its beginning, Broadway Gallery has been built on quality craftsmanship and personalized service. In a cramped basement room of her town home, founder Sue Broadway armed herself with a miter box, hand-held matting tool, hammer, glue and nails to support her picture framing needs. Due to her creative approach to framing, prompt courteous service, and unbridled enthusiasm for the art world, the business grew from a small shop into a reputable art and framing company serving the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Broadway Gallery was incorporated in 1978 and relocated to its present Alexandria headquarters where a modern, fully equipped production and warehouse facility was established. Today, it offers one of the largest selections in the metro area for custom archival frame design. Broadway Gallery is also a major source for original fine art exhibiting traditional and contemporary works by local, national and international artists.
Meet the Business Owner: Barry and Caron B.
In 1995, Founder, Sue Broadway retired from the business she started in her basement in 1977 and passed the torch to her son, Barry Broadway who continues to serve as President and her daughter Caron Broadway Moody who works as Gallery Manger and Marketing Director for the company. Both having been raised in the business, Barry, with a business degree from George Mason University and Caron, with a fine art degree from Pratt Institute, were the perfect pairing to take over the business. Today, they both continue to run the business along with their professional and very talented staff of employees with a continued focus on personalized service and quality craftsmanship.
