I brought in one small photo (8.5"x11") and one large photo (16.5"x23.3") and had a great time mixing and matching the frame and mat options with Bill. He had some very creative ideas and is clearly very passionate about his work and takes great pride in it. If you tell him the price range you're trying to stay under, he won't pressure you out of it but will work with you to find the perfect fit. Once we settled on the frames and mats, Bill was very upfront that the wait time would be a bit since he was working as a one-man show at the time. Thankfully, I was in no rush to get my pieces back so I told him to take his time. It took just over a month, and Bill called as soon as they were ready. The pieces came out beautifully, and I will absolutely use Art and Framing Plus again and recommend them to others.

I greatly enjoyed working with Kaily, a framer with technical expertise and terrific aesthetic sensibility. With Kaily's assistance I was able to compare frame styles and materials, mat colors and combinations, glass choices and sealing techniques. Kaily offered great suggestions that really moved us along from discussing my vague ideas to making decisions that moved the project steadily closer to the attractive and thoughtfully framed pieces I hoped for. I never felt rushed. I felt very welcome in the studio shop. The staff (owner and associates) worked as a team to bring the project together. My artworks are beautifully framed using quality materials that enhance and protect the pieces. The framing materials and style coordinate with my living room decor in a harmonious way. The process was creative and exciting, and I'm truly delighted with the finished set of framed prints. Sincere thanks to all at Design Frames!

Custom framing is costly, but I have found prices here to be better than at other businesses. The quality is excellent, with skilled workmanship and tasteful materials. Advice about color and style are always good, and offered in a sensitive way. Really, the framer knows more about framing than I do, but he listens patiently to my ideas and asks the right questions about where the piece will go. For certain pieces I have chosen framing materials and mats from the selection; for others, I have just let the framer make recommendations. Either way, I end up happy. Sometimes I want a project that will last forever, with archival quality materials. All About Frames can meet these standards, and it pays to have a deliberate discussion. Other services offered: some art is for sale, and this business also installs projects. I have not taken advantage of these services. Excellent framing shop located in the Potomac Mills shopping mall, especially for the value! Needed…read more10-15 posters (mostly sports posters) framed for new condo. Given the number of pieces needing to be framed, emphasis was on low cost/value. Did comparison shopping at 5 shops across Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Woodbridge (including Michaels) and this spot came out cheaper than the rest - not just for the total job but for each type of frame I was looking to do. So went with them, giving them 8 of my posters to frame. The older lady who did my estimate was direct but very nice. Knowledeable lady who understood I was basically looking for the best deal, but did the best job of any of the stores I went to explaining the best framing options within my budget. She even presented alternative options to what I was looking for that would be the same price or even a bit cheaper. Said it would take 2 weeks to get the job done but called me back after only a week saying my frames were ready. Picked up later that weekend and all the frames looked fantastic! To be clear I'm no framing expert and don't really have an eye for art - was basically looking to get straightforword framing jobs done at the lowest cost - if that is your aim, this is definitely the place to go. I can't speak to the quality of their more upscale framing jobs. Again, I comparison shopped at several shops and this was the cheapest I found in the area. In terms of payment they had me pay half when I dropped the posters off for framing and the remaining half when I picked them up. The framing store is located in a huge outlet mall but they have a back door where you can drive up and pick up your frames if you have a larger order. A bit of a hike from where I live in Fairfax County but I will 100% be back for future framing jobs. Highly recommend!

He offered me no refund for his error, not even the spread between what I paid and his cost. He could've easily taken back the two 45" x 32" glass panes, which could've been used for other clients without issue.
