I wish I could take the credit for this one. This one's all about the Request A Quote feature on Yelp. I originally found one printer that was close to me on Yelp... but I wanted to know if they printed table tents. So I clicked Request A Quote and ended up sending the same message to some 10 or so local printers. Some printers got back to me within a matter of minutes #Minuteman. And some... like literally just got back to me like a month after I requested a quote #Monthmen. Like... no joke, this other printer got back to me after I've literally been in possession of Minuteman's actual delivered order for like a week and a half. Francesca, the graphic designer that I corresponded with was awesome. She was not only quick to respond, but was quick to get me a proof by mail #AtNoCharge. After I got back to her telling her that the proof looked good, and ended up adding a few things to the order last minute, she got my whole order to me in less than a business week. This company is fast, efficient, and quality. I will 100% be using them for my printing needs in the future. I need a company that is going to balance my annoying procrastination with lightening speed service that makes it seem like I am not annoyingly procrastinating. read more

Working with Robyn here, and she's been amazing. We so thus far had the Save the Dates for our wedding printed here, and since my fiancee designed them, it was quick and easy to clean up. Robyn knows her stuff (paper, inks, colors, etc) and she did an excellent job perfecting and tweaking our STDs (I love that acronym!). They have tons of examples of how printing on different stock can make your piece look different, and usually she will show you before you even ask. That's a great bit of professionalism! Contacted the one in Crystal Plaza Arcade. I really needed to print a few documents. The person I spoke to told me to either upload my files on the their website or email him. The website did not work. I emailed them to him which he responded saying to email them again so that he could scan them, I did. Then he calls me as I'm emailing him my documents, to rudely tell me to stop emailing him my documents and didn't give a solution to the problem. Anyways, I just told him not to worry about it, I won't be using their services anymore. I've used them in the past and the person who helped me last time was very kind and helpful, got me all my documents in time, it was great! This time around, I don't know what happened. read more

I've used this place for a wide variety of jobs: -tabloid sized color copies for a BZA hearing -letter sized booklets printed on tabloid sized paper for work -color tent-style cards for my pending nuptials that needed not only to bleed but also to be cut and folded For one of these jobs, I first went to Kinko's and had an experience that was laughably close to the PopCopy sketch on Chappelle's Show. One of my images was grainy, and I asked if they could change the dpi settings on the printer. It was clear that wasn't gonna happen, so I u-turned to reliable Minuteman. Their people are skilled, friendly, and take the time to troubleshoot and make recommendations to get the best product. Also, I probably paid ~15% more than the quote I received from Kinko's, so if you're all right with paying for quality, don't sleep on Minuteman. read more

I walked in about 11 am one Tuesday, called out hello (as no one behind counter) and when the friendly and helpful young lady came out from the back, I asked if they would copy a document for me (one copy) and she did it promptly right then for less than $2 (it was about 11 pages). This is very convenient service in the 20001 zip code area as I don't know where else I could go without going over to Basecamp on 18th or a Fedex downtown for the occasional xeroxing I need done. I found metered parking on NJ Avenue NW and it looks like there's usually a spot nearby so you can run in and do a quick drop. It's worth noting that this place is really on F street NW, that is, you have to walk round the corner from New Jersey Avenue; it's really just located next to the "555 NJ Ave NW" building! read more

I had an incredible experience working with the team at Minuteman Press. My partner left his business cards at home while at a networking conference in DC. The people at Minuteman Press were able to not only print out new business cards, they designed ones to match the other cards since I did not have a digital copy, ALL IN ONE DAY!!!! I've done this many times with other presses and usually there's some complication or some less-than-perfect outcome. But working with Minuteman Press and Frankie on this somewhat complicated job (involving many moving parts) was hassle free. I used Minuteman last year for a print job, and they were fine- quick turnaround, the job looked good. I asked them about doing another run of the same file this year, and asked for a quote on how much it would cost to ship documents to my office. Six days after my initial email, I hadn't heard anything, so I sent an email prompt, and an employee said he would follow up, but he never did. A few days later I got a different quote from them, with information about the print cost (which I already had) but without the shipping cost. The quote got both my organization AND my phone number wrong in the document. I'm looking for a printer with a bit more attention to detail, so I passed on placing an order! read more

I really needed to print one copy of something. They had the audacity to want to charge $5 to print one page. They would only accept it in cash given that they would not charge anything less than $10. I only had card and the ATM they suggested was not functioning, so I even tried to purchase a gift card, which they claimed they did not offer. All together it was a huge waste of time! Getting a high-quality product at a competitive price is not a unicorn any more! I could have spared myself aggravation and saved time and money if I had know about Minuteman years ago! Excellent customer service from super friendly staff answering the phones, speedily responding to e-mail and providing a quote to a quick turn-around. It really could not have been any better and quicker! And the product - we had color posters printed for an event - looks crisp! Our prior experience was with Staples downtown and was quite the opposite with a steep price tag. No need to ever return there as I have a new favorite! Since it is near my office I know I will use them whenever I need something printed! I went to this minuteman press because it is close to Georgetown Law and I needed to print out class readings, but the service is AWFUL. The guy there told me that my prints would be ready by the next day, which I thought was fine. Since I had a busy schedule, I asked him what time he could get the prints done by, and he repeatedly told me 2pm. The next day, I went around 12:50, hoping that at least one of my print jobs would be done (he was printing out 4 different files into about 9 packets) so that I could start doing some readings. He told me he would not be done until 2pm and that none of the packets had been finished, so I went again at 2:40pm. He came out and told me that he was not done. I inquired why, and he told me that he was backed up. I pointed out that he had told me before: he would be done by 2pm, and he began getting angry. I asked him if any of my packets were done, and he said he had not STARTED the jobs at all. I started to speak, but he cut me off, accusing me of rushing him and being pushy, and getting angrier. He stated that MANY people had requested jobs before mine (I'm not the only customer), and although I did not respond, I fail to see how that is my problem. At that point, he angrily told me I could always take my business elsewhere and returned my USB, which he had told me the previous day he would keep (not giving me a choice), and when I tried to speak he walked away. I said "excuse me" a few times until another employee came out and asked what I needed. I asked her if the man had saved my files from my USB and she told me she would call him over. He took his time coming back out and then told me that he would be able to do my job by 3pm today. At this point, I was angry too because he was wasting my time. I could have taken my print jobs to another location. I asked him if he could promise that my job could be finished by 3pm, and he responded "4:30." Now I am stuck on campus until 4:30 without my homework readings. There are so many other things I should be doing away from the school campus, but I want to show up to minuteman press at 4:30 and get my materials as soon as possible. I have yet to see the quality of the prints, but I can already say it's not worth dealing with the cranky and unreasonable employee(s), and their bindings are too small and thin to bind more than 300 pgs, which is why my 4 documents have turned into 9 (this would not have been a problem at Kinkos or other places). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MINUTEMAN location. The slightly cheaper price is simply not worth my dignity. read more

I've used this business for 2 small run print jobs (and invitation and a spiral bound booklet). Both jobs had bleeds and needed trimming. Both times the job was done very well. The staff were very attentive to the details and offered great suggestions to improve the printing. They also turned both jobs around quickly. I've never received more rude customer service than the manager of this store aggressively telling me that a project printed noticeably off center was my fault and I'd have to pay again to have it redone. I traveled to attend a conference in Washington D.C. and had a conference poster printed at Minuteman Press. While I had paid a premium price for the poster to be printed on gloss paper, instead I was given a poster printed on inexpensive newsprint paper with very poor image quality and the color was faded -- unacceptable to present at a conference. Thus I had to pay to get the poster reprinted elsewhere on short notice. When I went to Minuteman with both posters showing evidence I had reprinted it, the Manager only issued a partial $75 refund, and he kept $136 of my money for this poster. I am very disappointed with how Minuteman handled this situation. Be wary of paying for anything sight unseen. read more

We've been using Minuteman every year for more than 10 years for all of our copying and smaller printing needs - posters, booklets, reports, signs. They could not be more different than a place like Kinkos/FedEx. Not only does Minuteman beat their pricing (by far), their customer service is top notch. They have saved us money by discussing our needs and suggesting options for what we're trying to achieve. It's reassuring that we can have an actual conversation about our printing jobs and that their staff knows what they're talking about. For us, we also tend to have a tight turnaround when we're producing materials for events, and Minuteman always meets our deadlines (or delivers early!).
