There is a good selection of reasonably priced frames. Some photo albums. Photo printing is 35 cents per 4x6 print, I believe. Friendly service. I will be back. My only tiny complaint is that I was overcharged on my card, but it was quickly corrected. read more

You feel really taken care of in their hands - and you know they are giving you great value and service without crazy unnecessary costs. Plus for printing photos - they have the BEST prints. Unfortunately, I had a encounter where I was deeply disrespected by one of the gentlemen working here. I stopped in to pick up a custom framed gift and was treated as if I didn't exist. I immediately approached the register to pick up the item and waited for the employees to return to the register. After returning to the register, the employee called for a customer from another area of the store who was behind me to process his transaction first and asked me to step out of the way. I don't know if it was the fact that I was dressed casually in a raincoat and sweatpants for the bad weather or if it was a matter of his perception of my racial identity, either way, someone waiting at the register should have been helped before someone approaching the line from behind me. I give the other gentleman from the back of the store (who I believe is the owner Stuart) credit for recognizing my dismay at the treatment and asking if I was okay. This was, however, not enough to allay the micro-aggression I had experienced. I highly discourage friends and colleagues in Congress and beyond from using the services of this store. If you believe in justice, equity, and fairness, I implore you to find an alternative. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by Capitol Hill Frame & Photo and had a great experience. My bf had a series of panoramic landscape photos to frame, which he wanted to do in a custom piece with all of the photos stacked vertically. We also had a photo from a recent vacation that we wanted to print with a frame we picked up literally from the side of the road (it is a very unique frame!). Stewart was super easy to work with, was thoughtful about our requests, and did a great job. Yes, custom framing can be expensive, but it is totally worth it! read more

Amazing. I went in with an old, slightly damaged magazine page that I wanted framed. They mounted the page - making it look beautiful, but vintage - and helped me pick the perfect double mat and frame for the page. I couldn't believe how good it looked when I picked it up. Side note - these guys also took a passport photo for me years ago when I walked in at a time they weren't open (I didn't realize they were closed). They were cleaning and stocking but didn't bat an eye, though kindly informed me that they were technically closed. Great people all around. Can't recommend enough. read more

Four days before Christmas, this place was busy when I visited. But i observed the service was great for everyone. I emailed a photo to CH Frame to print and bought a 4x6 frame for it. The guy framed it for me-- free labor! The store also offers custom framing, TONS of greeting cards, wrapping paper, notepads, candles, framed establishment shots of DC, and other gifts. Competent staff, good prices, and lots of choices. Cannot ask for more. read more

Where do you go when you need to get the film in an underwater camera developed? Capitol Hill Frame & Photo! They send it offsite, but call you when they're ready to pick up. You can choose to get prints, a CD, and/or a flash drive. They also have a great selection of greeting cards, premade frames, and all sorts of gifts in case you need a last minute present. Seriously, some cool notebooks, pens, and children's toys are here! From the moment I contacted them regarding my needs, they were attentive. I needed same-day prints quickly. I called and although initially I thought I'd have to take the images to them on a USB, I was saved a trip and extended the option to email instead. I went from 2 prints, to 2 prints mounted to 3 prints mounted when all was said and done lol. And never once did they act as if I was doing the most even though I was. They didn't mind the few questions and they turned around my order within an hour. I had previously called another local photo shop but they don't print on Sundays so Capitol Hill Frame and Photo was a lifesaver! And right around the corner, who knew?! As much as I'm on that block, I had never noticed. I can park on D too which has much more ample parking and still access the marketplace. I was surprised upon arriving for pickup, at the selection of frames and customized options. I even opted to frame one of the prints and the gentleman behind the counter promptly printed another copy and installed it in the frame which I selected from their offerings which was perfect and spared me having to do it. The staff was incredibly helpful, walking me through this large purchase and checked the resolution of the photograph several times to make sure it would print well. The final product is beautiful, and they included all the materials needed to hang it. It is the centerpiece of our dining room, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. read more

these guys are unbelievable!!! the framing is perfection, they work with you on what you are trying to accomplish. i have been coming here for 5-7 years. i can always also find a card i need. they do an expert job on regular photos, enlarging, and fits for collages. some of my senior family dont have iphones, so i regularly need hard copy photos to send them. they are very accommodating and dont look down on those who still like the old-fashion images!!! read more

I had a rush job of 130 photos that I needed printed on a Sunday morning and Capitol Hill Frame & Photo filled it and the quality was great! I did the order through the website early in the morning and within about 30 minutes of opening, I had an email response back and confirmation that my photos would be printed within the hour. Also of note, I needed the photos printed matte with borders and this is harder and harder to find. Capitol Hill Frame & Photo had a number of printing options and the quality and paper was great.
