This location is super cool!!! It was hard to find at first but don't give up, it's literally placed in an alleyway and there is parking but not a lot of it, so I'm glad when I did go there was about three spaces available. My friend booked a shoot for two hours and the space or rooms they have are huge! They have a clock there so you are aware of how much time you have left and in case you forget? The staff will let you know to wrap it up. They have props you can use for your shoot and it looks like there is equipment there too but most photographers will bring their own things. There is a changing room and vanity set up for you to do your makeup which I found super convenient! There is a couch and there are chairs in the room in case you have a large party and they want to relax. This is a hidden gem for sure. Front desk staff were nice and the place is clean! Union 206 Studios is a nice place to do photo and or video shoots. They have 3 studio rooms to choose from, with each coming with various props. There's a 2 hour minimum when booking your studio room. They have snacks and drinks for sale. Parking is not quite the best but you shouldn't have a hard time finding a spot. My family and I used this facility to do our family photo shoot and enjoyed the session. read more

Absolutely stunning location with both photoshootable portions inside and outside a studio room. I love how they have their decor setup with the colorful chairs down the aisle and motorcycles throughout the place. The bathroom was nearly pure on white and clean. Each studio had barn-like sliding doors. We had reservations for the largest studio, which came with a pure white backdrop, paper backdrop, a changing room, makeup area, and a selfie light. The ceilings were also very high. You can get a membership here to get a discounted rate if you book studios often. This place also allows you to shoot boudoir and bodyscapes. read more

Came here to take family pictures. This place is a rent by the hour studio for photographers that don't have their own studio. The studio rooms were big and spacious with different backgrounds and props, however the couch prop was dirty and needed to be cleaned or completely thrown out. The actual space was clean and neat. They have the halo light for your use also. There is a little covered sectioned off area inside the studio room for you to change. You can bring music to play to set the tone for your shoot. The guy there at the desk was a bit...dry, not really personable. They have snacks and drinks (hot and cold) for you to purchase. read more

Shot a music video there not to long ago and it went awesome! The space was clean, the staff were friendly and so awesome. Every accommodation we needed they met. And they did a great job keeping everything clean and spaced out during this crazy COVID time. I would definitely recommend UNION 206 STUDIOS for anyone looking to film professional projects in a big clean wide space, shoot music videos, take pictures for a photo shoot or headshots, looking for a space to create or just a space to check out now for future projects. Terrible service, rude employees, walls were not white, and their billing and scheduling website is not up to par.

After being a member here for almost 6 years, I am disgusted by the behavior of the owner, Charles and another new staff member, who I believe is the manager. With time to spare for clean up, I was abrasively interrupted and told to stop shooting and that I need to clean up...as if I hadn't been a member here for years who knows the rules. I have NEVER went over on a shoot and the two minutes that I went over today was caused by the nasty employee who stuck her hand in front of my camera and stood in front of my light as I was attempting to capture final images. There is no policy as to when you are to start cleaning up and I have straightened up the studio in less than 5 minutes on several occasions because I always have several helping hands, so there was no excuse for her to abruptly end my shoot while I still had time left. After addressing my issue of the employee's aggressive approach, the owner, Charles, says that he would have went a step further to begin unplugging equipment. He also said that he would no longer want me as a member of his studio after 5 solid years of membership and no issues. I would have been happy with an apology for his employee's nasty behavior, but it seems that is just the way he allows his business to run. The lack of customer service is unacceptable here. I would not recommend this place to anyone moving forward based on business practice. Creatives, find a place who respects the time you paid for. read more

They charge premium prices for cheap subpar lightning. Our photographer had to spend a good amount of time to figure out efficient way to work with such horrible equipment. The floors and walls were supposed to be matte white (not glossy white) so you won't have any reflection on the photos. Also, scheduling appointments back to back without ANY grace period for cleaning/changing is making everyone rush. It is just a downright cash grab. And, on top of all that- charging cleaning fee, because, again, we didn't have any time to properly clean what we used for photoshoot. read more

This place is AWESOME!! I have used Union 206 on a few occasions. In fact I have had a shoot in each of the 3 studios. I have never had an issue there at all. The booking process was simple and the rates were unbelievably affordable. Every time I show up the staff is helpful and very pleasant to work with. Each studio is well appointed with not only a clean sync wall but other various back drops. There is a docking station in each studio (I know this is a small thing but I love having music playing during a shoot and not having to bring my own is one less thing I have to carry). There are probs and a clean dressing room for each studio as well. The staff is always willing to help out when needed and will even help with lighting set up should you be stuck in a rut. Union 206 is a perfect place for a photographer like me who enjoys shooting in a studio but does not have their own space and light. Union 206 make it easy, book it, show up, shoot and leave. all you need to do is bring a camera and a model. read more

After spending five days in, gross, Baltimore and six shoots in three incredibly disappointed and disgusting studios, walking into Union 206 was like walking into Pampered Model Heaven. A giant, modern, CLEAN facility with knowledgeable and friendly staff (extra thanks to Bella who even helped to lace me up in a corset for our final look) I will be remembering this place for all the RIGHT reasons. Full kitchen, wifi, central air, and rentable motorcycles (!!!) plus three massive studio spaces, I will be referring all DMV photographers here for shoots, especially when booking me on my next trip out. There's so much to say about Union 206. Although I can't pinpoint exactly what is it, this place has something magic about it. I had a great experience (once again) from the studio itself, the staff, the equipment, space, props. The staff is always so helpful. From equipment usage, to lighting setups. Helping with props. And always in a non condescending manor. The ceilings are extra high, all three studios are clean, versatile, beautiful honestly. They provide all the equipment you could need (just bring your camera) and show you how to use iI really feel like they want us to achieve the best pics possible. I couldn't wait to upload these pictures to take a look and edit and I'm SO happy with them! This has been my experience every time I've booked. The membership couldn't be more worth it (and it's affordable). If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Charles and his wife Tiffany, you can tell they created the space for people "to be able to be photographers." Greg is another staff member and has always gone above and beyond to help me. He taught me lighting tips and made me feel so comfortable and confident. It's awesome and I appreciate it so much. This Used to be my favorite studio in the area.I cant tell you how many photographers i referred to Union since 2012. Recently I used the studio and there was an equipment malfuntion( everything now seems well worn) I shot frames with same exact settings f/11 Shutter160 Iso 100 on Both a Nikon D810 & D7000. Some frames where exposed properly others where under exposed about 2 stops.these results where produced on both camera bodies during the trouble shooting process to determine the cause of the issue.I was later told by the owner,who wasn't there to witness these results, that the problem was my equipment.A UNION employee witnessed the issue and noted it in a report!!. I have rented this studio space twice and both times I was very pleased with the space and the staff. On both occasions I went in not knowing what lighting I wanted (I'm more of a natural light photographer) and both times the staff helped me set up AND discussed my desired outcomes while throwing in some pointers. Prior to having our own studio, my colleagues and I worked out of Union 206, and it will always be a place that we recommend, fallback on, and use as the need dictates. I believe my colleagues and I were one of the early finders of the Union 206, before it got extremely popular and constantly booked to capacity! The staff Charles & Charles are great, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Both Charles will lend a hand in need, no one can absolutely know everything about photography nor truly ever master an evolving art and its always good to have consultation, or an outside eye that doesn't seem the world from your viewpoint or viewfinder! I joined at one point and had their monthly membership that gave me 2 hours allowance each month. On my second scheduling attempt, they put me on the calendar, yet a few day before the shoot, they cancelled my spot because they said that my next month billing cycle was not charged yet (mind you that this was not the case of my credit card did not go through, it was just that it would be charged a few day before my scheduled shoot), and the spot was given to another person. This is not possible unless they deliberately tried to screw me over. Any member can see the calendar of availability, and can only ask for available spot. The fact that they deliberately put other person on my pre-scheduled spot was a deliberate attempt to screw me over. I had to completely rescheduled my shoot with my model and it caused all kind of scheduling back up. I talked to Charles, and he didn't care. THANKS CHARLES read more

Union 206 is the best studio in the Northern Virginia area! To my knowledge, the only other "main" studio rental place is a one room studio in DC with difficult parking. Union 206 has plenty of free, easy parking which helps as many models like myself come with suitcases of clothes, make-up, etc. I've been modeling professionally 12 years and have seen my fair share of studios. This one is great and I enjoy working here when I am booked here. The studio is also very reasonably priced to rent and has membership packages to decrease this rental fee price if you'll be there a lot. I've been coming to this studio the past 2 years now (right when I moved into the area) and the staff is very professional and helpful. The studio offers 3 different studio rooms so up to 3 photographers can be working there at the same time. You can also fit cars and large items into Studio A because it is attached to a garage. There are all kinds of props and settings too so look no further! :) read more
