My session was scheduled at 12:30pm and I arrived 20 minutes early because I had my dog with me and also had never been to this location before so wanted to ensure enough time to find it and arrive early to navigate the mall and any potential parking issues or crowds. Parking was easy, and check-in was smooth - however they said they were running 20-30 minutes behind. This was more like an hour behind, and that was a bit stressful with an anxious dog in an unfamiliar place with a lot of other people waiting (including many small children and a few other dogs). The session itself though was great - our photographer was Alena and she was so sweet, kind, fun, and patient with my dog. There was a bit more waiting after for the edits, which again... not fun. But the little consult and my checkout was done with Melinda and she did great at explaining the costs/packages. My Groupon was well worth it and my digital images were in my email that evening. Some of the patrons were very angry about the waits, but the employees remained calm, kind, and professional. Please anticipate being patient and bring toys and snacks for any kids/pets during the holiday season. Be kind to your photographers and the crew - they all did great. After doing some online research and talking with a few photographers I decided to work with Stacey. We met in Old Town Alexandria one Saturday afternoon in October. I was nervous at first but shortly into our photo session I felt at ease as Stacey is friendly, professional and fun, not to mention amazing at what she does! She was also great with our greyhound and got some adorable shots of him. Stacey has a wonderful eye for light and color and found a lot of unique backgrounds for our photos. Our online gallery was available after about a week and a half and the results were fantastic! Soon after, Stacey scheduled a free consultation with us to view all our photos on the large computer screen that she has and to help us pick out which prints and framing options we wanted to put up in our home. She even helped us decide how best to place the photos on the wall. We received all our prints last week and have gotten our framed prints up on the wall, we couldn't be happier! It's wonderful to get these beautiful shots of our children growing up -- and have some shots with me that I love that aren't selfies! Years ago Stacey took an iconic (among our family and friends) photo of my son sulking off to the left of the Washington monument when my husband and I were were standing to the right smiling while pregnant with our daughter.
