Chieu came through for us, even though we forgot our baby's cute outfit changes! She really improvised on the whim and we loved the final photos. It was easy to schedule a session. She was very communicative in her emails. I absolutely loved the final photos and will definitely reach out to her in the future. it was a great experience overall! read more

Chieu did an amazing job for our newborn's photography. Chieu was very flexible and had made the process really simple and prepared the photoshoot prior to us coming at her studio. Our newborn was born during the winter holidays and we had discussed a tentative time based on our original due date. But our newborn decided to come earlier than expected and she was flexible to rework her schedule to help us by putting us in the day after new years. Thank you Chieu for the amazing photos my wife and I loved the photos. read more

Chieu Lee Photography - Session Photography Near Me

We used Chieu Lee Photography for the first time and LOVED it. We had 6 people and managing that many personalities can be challenging but she is such a professional she knows how to handle it all. I can't say enough and the photos she took were beautiful, will use her again and again. Thank you Chieu read more

Chieu is a super talented photographer, so much so that I am sad that I didn't know her back when I got married so she could've done my engagement and wedding photos. She sees beauty and photo opps in things most people wouldn't stop to think twice about, and it has begun to change how I view things too. For example, it would never occur to me to take a black and white photo along the line where a shadow ends to add another dimension. And I would've never seen the cold beauty in the solid greys of a parking garage. Chieu is also very detail oriented. During our photo shoot, Chieu made sure to adjust my clothes so they looked just so. She'd stop the shoot to fix my hair and other things that would've bothered me after the fact. I have heard that when Chieu lived in Georgia, she had her own hair stylist and make up artist, just to give you a sense of Chieu's talent. This woman is going places! read more

I scheduled a newborn shoot last year very last minute. She was able to fit us in and was very patient with my redundant questions and new mom anxiety. The whole photo shoot went so smoothly and quickly. We didn't know what to expect, but it was clear she was a pro. She handled our newborn so effortlessly and efficiently. The final results were so good, we ordered additional photos. We hope to work with her again for future milestones. read more

Chieu's been our annual family photographer since we moved here 3 years ago. She's very easy to work with and patient with our 2 little guys. We've done both outdoor and indoor photo shoots with her. The indoor shoots were done at her home studio which is clean and cozy. We highly recommend her to capture your family memories. read more

Chieu was very friendly and very professional during the photoshoot. She made my husband and I feel very comfortable, even though we are not photogenic at all! We went to her studio and love the fact that she only does (if my memory serves me right) one photoshoot per day. We didn't feel rushed in case the baby was fussy, and we also felt safe given the circumstances of this wonderful pandemic. Her pricing is very straightforward, we didn't have to do any thinking. The photos turned out so beautiful (yes even for us not photogenic people)! Chieu was very responsive via email and answered all the questions we had. I highly recommend her! read more

Chieu was such a delight to work with. She answered my inquiry promptly with all details and pricing upfront. The session at her home studio was speedy and efficient. She handled our infant so well and got wonderful shots. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for family photography and plan to reach out to her again for future family photos. read more

Chieu is an AMAZING photographer with a keen eye, creative artistic mind, and a complete professional. She's also quick with the camera trigger. So she'll be able to capture a few candid moments, which looking back, were the more funny and memorable moments during our family photoshoot. Personally, It is what I like to have captured and reminisce back on. read more

Professional, personable and productive. Hands down, the best experience I've had with a photographer. Chieu really knows how to work with the person she is capturing. Many of my friends have used her for family photos, individual portraits and new baby photos. I knew she was talented but working with her (finally!) made me in awe of her. I wanted to take some nice, professional photos that would look good on my LinkedIn profile. Chieu made me feel at ease in front of the camera and knew how to position me so I looked good in the final product. (Being in a studio made me feel a little uncomfortable) The photos came out FABULOUS! She really knows what she's doing with the lighting as well as making me laugh. Her turnaround was superb and I received the photos in the timeline I requested. It was hard to choose which one to pick because all of them were excellent. Her contact/response time is quick! I'll use her again in the future :) read more

Amazing photographer and the sweetest soul! I'm a FTM and was so nervous about having pictures taken with a 3 month old. Chieu was sweet enough and patient enough to walk me through the entire process and answered every question I had. During photos she was also super patient with my grumpy 3 month old and the pictures turned out great! I would definitely recommend her! read more

Chieu is incredibly talented, kind, and patient. We booked her services for our maternity photos and immediately signed up in advance for a newborn session afterward. When our baby arrived a month early, she accommodated a schedule change, and was amazing with our daughter. Would highly recommend her to any parents or couples looking for a local photographer to capture their family. read more

We had the best experience with Chieu! She was a real pleasure to work with and very flexible to schedule us on short notice. She was able to take our newborn pictures and get them back to us quickly so we could order baby announcement postcards. The quality was absolutely amazing! Our son wasn't in the happiest of moods (esp after we forgot his bottle), but she was very patient and had the magic touch to calm him between sets. She had great ideas for poses - but also very open to anything we recommended. We thought 10 prints would be enough, but after seeing them all, we fell in love and had to buy extras at a very reasonable price. We couldn't be happier that we chose Chieu Lee and can't wait to get more pictures done with her! Overall A+++ for scheduling, creativity, quality, and pricing!!! read more

Can I give 6 stars?!?!? Working with Chieu was amazing. She came to take pics of my baby shower and she even threw in a mini maternity session! which was awesome by the way. Chieu also brought an assistant! I'm looking forward to working with her for my newborn session. I'm so glad I found her on yelp. You will not be disappointed. =) read more

Chieu took AMAZING engagement photos for me and my fiance. We absolutely loved working with Chieu for our ~2 hour session in downtown Vienna. All of the photos came out really nicely, especially given that the weather was cloudy and rainy here and there! Chieu definitely knew what she was doing!!! Not only does Chieu have amazing photo skills, but also has great communication skills. Chieu will assure that you make the most out of the time she has with you. Chieu was very quick in handing us the photos as well. Overall, working with Chieu was easy, transparent, seamless and pleasant. Our engagement photos wouldn't have turned out the same without her! Thank you so much for your flexibility, thoughtfulness and friendship. I am super happy with how everything turned out!!!! My fiance and I definitely recommend her for session photos!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! read more

We LOVE Chieu! We've done maternity, newborn, and family photos with her and they are perfection every time. Her pricing is great, you get a large selection of photos to keep and her studio is warm and inviting with a million props and decorations to choose from for a newborn shoot that are elegant and timeless. read more

So happy with our newborn photos by Chieu Lee Photography! We received so many compliments from friends and family on the pictures. The poses are adorable and Chieu intermixed close-up shots with wide zoom images that captured loving details, like our son's crib and gallery wall, to add variety and interest. The photos feel very personal, though there's really only so much you can do with days-old babies. We're super impressed with Chieu's attention to detail and artistic vision. Besides being a talented photographer, Chieu is also super professional--communicative, honest (describes services accurately), reasonably priced, and very sweet. We also appreciated Chieu's flexibility and willingness to work with what we had (our own props, for example). Also, Chieu is a baby whisperer! Our son wails hysterically every time we undress him or change his diapers. Chieu got him in and out of a few outfits without him ever waking up from a peaceful nap. Don't know how she does it. We'll definitely be returning customers, most definitely scheduling family photos in the spring. read more

I mean, just look at the comments below. I know Chieu on a personal level, as well as on a professional level. You'll see right away that she is a fun, loving and sweet person. But when it comes to her work, she blends her love for photography with professionalism and perfectionism incredibly well. You will be wholeheartedly pleased upon making the right decision to work with her. read more

This is the second time I have used Chieu Lee for my newborn photos. She is really good with newborns, patient and will take as long as needed to get the perfect photo. She has beautiful props so you don't have to bring anything and is very easy to work with! Highly recommend her! read more

Chieu really has an amazing artistic eye and a creative mind. I did a photo shoot with her one afternoon and I was seriously amazed by the results. She took this untrained mess (me) and made me look like a model! She styled me with clothes, accessories, and even did my hair and make up to get the perfect look. Chieu was fantastic to work with. The entire time she guided me: telling me how to place my arms or where to point my chin and where to place my eyes so that she could get the perfect shot. Side note: pointing your chin and eyes in different directions is apparently a very difficult concept for me but Chieu was patient with me the whole time. Although the position felt a little awkward for me, after looking at the final photographs I realized how much better they looked because of those stances. I would never have known if Chieu had not corrected my positioning to the millimeter! But, that just demonstrates her perfectionism as an artist. During the photo shoot, she would also adjust my hair or clothes to make them look perfect for the shot. Chieu knows exactly when to find those unique moments that are full of life. You can tell by just looking through her portfolio! I love all of her photographs of babies and children who are probably moving all the time, yet she's still able to capture that perfect moment to encapsulate their personality. If I had kids, hiring her to take pictures of my children would be a no brainer. She is super sweet and a mother herself so you know that she can relate well with children. I would definitely recommend her for anyone who is looking for any kind of photography services. read more

We had a great experience with Chieu for our family photo shoot. She was friendly, professional, very responsive, and incredibly thoughtful. Several of us were traveling from out of state to the photo shoot and she was organized and understanding of the challenges in getting us all together. During the shoot, she was just as skilled taking photos of our elderly parents as our school age children of varying ages. I would without hesitation recommend Chieu! read more

Wonderful photographer!! We worked with her for Autumn couple's portraits, and the photos turned out great! She's wonderful to work with-- very easygoing and personable. Thankfully she is patient and experienced-- we (as a couple) have always had trouble with taking photos and we are not models. Our previous photos with other photographers have turned out badly before (even wedding photos). But she worked with our ideas and was able to guide us into interesting and beautiful pictures. We would definitely work with her again. read more

Chieu Lee Photography - Session Photography Near Me

I've done two photo shoots w/ Chieu Lee Photography. Both have been excellent. The first was an anniversary shoot w/ my husband. Chieu took us out for a full day of work across downtown DC. She gave us advice before the shoot on what to wear and how to style ourselves so we would look the best for our pictures. During the shoot, she was very helpful in posing and directing us. My husband felt very awkward for a bit, but Chieu helped him relax as we went along. She brought an assistant along, who helped tote the equipment, so we were able to move very nimbly around the city and get some great editorial type shots at a bunch of different locations. Chieu's work is very artistic rather than cheesy or artificial. The photos turned out great -- very creative, with a variety of techniques, lighting, settings, and poses to make each picture feel very fresh. The second shoot I had w/ Chieu Lee Photography was for some headshots for my professional profile/resume. Chieu actually styled me for the shoot -- hair, makeup, clothes, accessories -- and the result was great. She gave me a look that really suited me -- fun and relaxed yet chic and professional. She took me around a variety of backdrops in Fairfax in order to capture different textures and colors to give me multiple headshot options to use for my professional needs. It was important for me to have my headshots done outdoors in an urban setting, so she helped me cope with some tough lighting and weather situations by using some serious skill in posing me facing different directions. I would definitely use Chieu Lee again for another shoot. I've seen her work across a variety of subjects/settings -- kids, families, maternity portraits, weddings, engagement, corporate, events, etc. -- and everything she does looks great. She is a great artist, yet easy to work with and not pretentious or intimidating. read more

We used Chieu for a short at home family session. She was easy to communicate and plan with in advance, she arrived on time and made a great connection with the kiddos- had them laughing through out the shoot. She found great spots in our house with good light and ultimately resulted in wonderful pictures! read more

If you are anywhere near Northern Virginia, I mean anywhere within a 7-hour drive, there is only one photographer that you need. We had a great experience working with Chieu for our maternity and newborn photos. She got great shots of our little one - she is a baby whisperer. She was very professional and the photos turned out beautifully. She always got back to us quickly and was very flexible when it came to scheduling our photos. We will definitely be contacting her again when it is time to take more family photos! read more

We had both our maternity and newborn photos done with Chieu. She was absolutely fantastic and so easy to work with. We were drawn to her based on the different poses and set-ups we saw online. Her pricing for both sessions was fair and the pictures came back beautiful! We did our maternity shoot outside in her backyard and in the park surrounding her house. We did our newborn shoot in her in-home studio.  During the maternity shoot, she made both my husband and me comfortable during the photos (hard to do!) and provided guidance for poses. During the newborn photoshoot, she was equally gifted in working with our newborn twins and we fell in love with the photos she provided. It does not change my 5-star rating for her, but the only disappointment we had was an oversight where we have photos of my husband and me together holding just our newborn son, but not any similar ones of us holding just our daughter. We would have loved to have a similar set up with her also. I highly recommend booking with Chieu - we intend on using her for future family photos. :-) read more

Chieu is an amazing photographer and made our maternity session so easy and so personal. We loved that she suggested a place to meet for the session. Our session date and time had rain in the forecast. Chieu was super flexible and watched the weather with us to see if we could still do the session outside. It turned out to be a perfect morning to take photos. We really appreciated that since she was familiar with the location, she had beautiful spots picked out to take photos. We also really loved all the direction she gave us. After awhile it just became natural to get into the best poses. Photos came out amazing! Can't wait until our newborn session!! read more

Chieu is AMAZING! She's been our family photographer for the last two years - from maternity shoots, newborn, and family, she does it all. Her photos look effortless and really capture the moment. She's so generous, funny, and thoughtful, which make taking photos so much easier. She is so flexible and willing to make the extra adjustments as needed. We love working with her and would highly recommend her to our friends and family. read more

Chieu did a good job with my 10 day old son's session. She knows how to wrap, position and quiet a squirmy little human.. his photos came out great and we couldn't be any happier with the results! We'll surely see her for another session when my munchkin gets a little bigger :) read more

Chieu came to our house for a fall shoot and was great with my kids, especially my stubborn 5-year-old who did not want to participate! We ended up having a request for pictures for a reunion slideshow a few days later, and Chieu came to our rescue with expedited editing so our family photos could really shine. She was a real pleasure to work with and I know we will use her again for our next portraits. read more

Seriously, as PP said -- can we give her 6 stars?! Chieu was AMAZING. We had our newborn photo session with her and it was one of the best experiences I've had. She fit us in even though our daughter was 3 weeks old vs. the standard 7-10 days old. I was a little nervous because she was super fussy that day, but Chieu worked magic! She handled our baby so lovingly yet professionally that she was able to calm her down and deliver us beautiful pictures. Her studio was so cozy, hubby ended up taking a nap and the music definitely helped calm our nerves. We def recommend her!! read more

Chieu Lee deserves the average 5 star rating as of today's date. Very easy to work with, very responsive, and attentive. Also very effective when working with young children who have a short attention span and just want to play. Will definitely consider her again for the future! read more

Chieu was the perfect choice for my baby's 1-month photos! We had missed the window for newborn photos but still wanted to get my baby's photos taken. My parents were coming into town and I reached out to Chieu in the last minute. She was quick to respond, very accommodating (we added my parents to the photoshoot for a small extra fee) and sent easy-to-follow instructions. On the day of, she was patient with my baby who was a little fussy/hangry and the shoot went very smoothly. She sent proofs in just a few days and the final product soon afterwards.
