This business is great! They have reasonable prices and quick turnaround time. I highly recommend.

We've been coming here for 20 years - and they never fail to deliver !!! They are a well oiled family run machine- and when you have owners that are there day after day after day, you can feel the difference. The fact that they're also talented artists themselves really helps with the eye for design they have. Always our go to !! read more

I have been a photographer for many years and wanted a photo of my own to decorate my '80s mafia-look black powder room. KH Art did a great job! Printed on shiny canvas and hard-mounted with a custom frame, this peony (Festiva Maxima) really pops. Getting lots of compliments, including "How did you get it so large and keep such excellent resolution?" Would use them again, would recommend them to a friend! read more

Very solid, family-run framing place that's been in the Arlington community for over 35 years. Have taken several sports posters here over the past 15+ years to get framed and always came away satisfied with the quality of work. For my most recent framing project I was needing 10-15 posters (mostly sports posters) framed. Given the number of pieces needing to be framed, emphasis was on low cost/value. Did comparison shopping across 5 highly-rated stores across Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Woodbridge, and this spot came out as the second-most inexpensive (though the one cheaper spot I found was much further out in Woodbridge). Because of my familiarity with this business and previous good results I gave them 5 of my posters to frame. One thing I love about this place is they have a basic framing special that's a great deal. For example, basic framing for a 24x18 poster at a flat rate of $80/poster and smaller posters (e.g., 17x11) at a flat rate of $60/poster. In searching around those will be tough prices to beat. Told me when I paid up front that they'd have my frames done in a week. Ended up taking 3 weeks, though that wasn't a big deal and I did tell them upfront that I wasn't in a rush to have them done. (They possibly got bogged down with Christmas orders, not sure.) The frames came out good - can't complain. Was pleased with the work. I'll say that the other shop I got frames done down in Woodbridge got my other frames done faster and at a lower price (check out my Yelp review on that other shop if you wish). But this has always been my preferred framing shop in the immediate area (i.e., within 20 minutes of D.C.) and that hasn't changed. Would recommend to anyone local and would come back again if I need to. Thanks!!! read more

I have framed 50+ things with KH Art and they are always beautiful. I feel like f,ably there.

I've used KH Art & Framing for over 15 years for numerous pieces of personal and professional framing. They have been great to work with, timely on delivery, and fair on pricing. I've gotten so comfortable with their expertise that I often just tell them to complete the job the best way they prefer. Highly recommend! read more

Really conflicted writing this review. I took a map to get framed. The custom frame was over $70, which I accepted because the map needed a specific sized frame. Unfortunately, the picture was not cut straight--when looking at the top right. I plan on coming to get this fixed and then hopefully will be able to update this review more positively. read more

Great place to get passport photos!! Call to check hours. Come on off hours to not wait.

This place is the best. Incredible quality and just a good group of people. The least pretentious place and yet they make museum quality stuff. They also have a photograph developer on site who also takes passport photos. My only tip is to try to come in with a very clear vision of what you want, and stick to that. They might recommend tweaks to your vision which usually is very helpful as they are the pros, just don't veer too far from your original vision-- common shopping sense generally and not anything specific to this place. With the diptych I gotta say they really nailed my vision. I said I wanted modern, white, larger frames but with richness/texture. They noted the paintings were small so couldn't support a big frame structurally. Fantastically helpful, their solution was to frame a frame. Really wonderful shop with an amazing crew! read more

I collect original art when I travel and I've been bringing it to Jimmy and Kenny for at least a decade. From huge pieces to small, valuable works, they're friendly, work quickly, and while they have good taste, they also defer to me when I have a strong instinct for the style and color of frame I want. Just recently I threw in the towel and decided my thousands of family photos were never going to get scanned if I tried to do it myself, and I brought them in to George, who operates the high resolution scanners. He was professional and turned the project around quickly, returning the photos and digital images to me on a thumb drive in just a few weeks. He called with a few questions about how I wanted to deal with impersonal photos in the stack (did I want to bother scanning a pic of some random unidentified lake from the 50s?). I never hesitate to bring irreplaceable items -- first art and now photos -- to KH. read more

I highly recommend KH Framing for their exceptional professionalism and expertise, particularly in military framing. Their top-notch service is evident in their attention to detail and dedication. I am always checking Yelp for a lot of very good reasons. When I checked there was a 30% off materials notification pop up. When I mentioned the 30% off they were quick to explain it had expired.... Why is it still current and effective? It drew me to your business although there are competitors. So, I placed my order but will again mention the 30% discount offered on line and report what I encounter here on Yelp. read more

I had quite a few pictures and expansive paintings framed at this professional framing place. It's not your average framing service what you would find at Michael's. Their personnel have years of experience and artistic taste when it comes to finding the right frame and select the accent boarders for your project. My artworks are like museum pieces once they leave this place. Expect to pay higher price for beautiful work. read more

I went to K&H for making a personalized family collage for my wife's birthday. The staff are exceptional. George revitalized older prints and the staff helped organize the prints perfectly. I can truly say it was a team effort and looking at my helpers as we organized prints I can tell you they are genuine and love what they do. Picking up the custom framing I was impressed. My wife was BLOWN away! The waterworks were underway. She asked who did the work and I can happily say K&H. They have a customer for life. Thank you K&H! read more

This review is for passport photos. Camera and photo stores used to be everywhere. They took decent passport photos. No more. So I went to yelp and I saw that a lot of people actually had problems with their passport photos, some bad enough to lead to rejection of the application. KH showed me a stack of them. KH was highly rated and deservedly so. Old Arlington charm with modern digital technology. Friendly, prompt, efficient, good photos reasonably priced. Free parking in the rear of the store, with an entrance in the back too. Passport renewal went through without a hitch read more

I had gone to a well reviewed frame shop in Clarendon only to be quoted an absurd amount for a simple white frame. Thankfully I saw a review on that business who recommend KH Framing. Great place. I've gone here several times and highly recommend. They are no BS, and get the job done. I went to the shop strictly off reviews. Love yelp... long time elite as you can see. I bought the yelp deal too! The guy I was working with (Kenny) told me I could get a better deal with the groupon. Seriously? This is the problem I have with deals. Obviously that's a pain for both of us, and shows that the place isn't all it's cracked up to be... in that the management is a little slimy (not straightforward pricing). I explained that we both lose if I use a groupon because I pay for it and he only gets half from groupon. So, he applied the groupon discount (which I now see on groupon's website might not be quite right) and gave himself the full amount of the groupon. Face-palm greed. I said that isn't fair... we should both benefit from not using the groupon. Then he calculated tax twice. That's just too much slime to be an accident. When I received the three pictures ($700) the work was well done. I would go back based on the good work, but just detest the lack of pricing anywhere to be seen. Even after all that I felt he was playing around with the numbers... and I just really didn't like it. Stick to doing good work and people will pay for it. read more

I was looking for a supply shop where I could buy acid-free matboard to cut my own window mats for an upcoming photography exhibit. Based on Jennifer's review, it seemed as though this place would be the best bet. IT WAS PERFECT! The owner was the kindest person ever and intuively asked me the right questions. Before I walked in, I thought I had everything planned out, since I've been cutting my own mats for years. But he asked me what size I was planning to cut and he happened measured it out for me just to be thorough and verify I was buying what I need. Boy, am I glad he did that! He pointed out a measurement that I hadn't considered and helped me avoid making a major mistake. It's so rare to find the kind of person who is interested in your project and contributes useful insight. This place comes highly recommended and I will certainly be back in the future! read more

I have always had my art projects and framing done at my framing place back home. But, with the recent pandemic, I haven't traveled back home, leaving me to find a local place. Sharing this frustration with a coworker, she recommended KH Framing. She said her mom is very picky and this is who she uses, so I gave them a try. They definitely lived up to their reputation. I've had two projects with them so far and they have been amazing, even going above and beyond for my last one. Their quality is great, pricing is fair, and customer service has been exceptional. A ketubah 1. (Hebrew: ; "document"; pl. ketubot) is a special type of Jewish prenuptial agreement. It is considered an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage, and outlines the rights and responsibilities of the groom, in relation to the bride. 2. (noun) A type of marriage document that for us, well my bride and I spent days sorting through hundreds to pick the perfect style, days getting it approved by the rabbi, then hauling it out of state so we could sign it at our beach wedding last year. And then it sat, and sat, and sat. We knew we wanted to do something special with it, and considered going out and getting a small frame for it. But then we took it to Rosie, Jimmy and company--I'm a local and drive by their store most days--and I asked them what they could do with it. The frame we wound up selecting wasn't the ordinary Bed, Bath, and Beyond... or even Tiffany frames. These are the types of frames you'd use on a HAND SIGNED MATISSE. And I thought it would cost an arm and a leg... but Jimmy and Rosie worked with us, and gave us a fair and reasonable price, and now that we have it, we are SO happy with how it looks. Go here with confidence, you won't be let down. read more

I've been to the Falls Church location and this one and both have been great. I took a papyrus that I got from Egypt and was really just not sure what kind of frame would work and if they would do a good job especially since my mom went to Michaels and had a bad job done with her papyrus piece. However, the person who helped me out was extremely professional and was able to figure out what to do within 10-15 mins. These people definitely have an eye for this stuff. This location does take the yelp deal which is nice since the other location does not take deals. They do have some parking there in the back of the store so you don't have to try to find a parking lot or street parking. Another added bonus to this place is they do take credit cards. I have a feeling this location may be more expensive than the Falls Church location but it's not that much more. read more

Customer service is great and they did a wonderful job but wow, they are expensive! They started off quoting me almost $500 for framing two prints (nothing odd about the size or material of the prints, they were both on the small side). This was supposed to be with a 20% discount, too. They brought it down to $330, which I still think is really overpriced, but we'd spent a good amount of time going over options so I went ahead (I have a hard time walking out when they've spent time and have been nice). It's hard to know how much you're getting in to $-wise when you're choosing the mat, frame, and glass. They factor in things like size and whatnot, so it's not totally transparent on how they arrive at your specific price. I asked for the more inexpensive frames and didn't get non-glare or museum glass. I would look for somewhere with more competitive pricing in the future, especially if I'm just getting prints framed. If you are getting something really rare and delicate framed, it's probably worth paying more. read more

I had a mirror that was previously attached to a dresser- already framed- that I wanted to hang on a wall. I called KH to ask about a wire being placed across the back, and they said to bring it on in. While they determined it was too heavy, at 34 pounds, to run a wire across the back, they attached D rings to the wood and provided hanging materials. When we asked about the cost he said to just bring him our next framing job! How nice of them to help us out and we will certainly be bringing our next framing job to KH! read more

I've been searching for a high-quality framing store since I moved to Arlington and I recently tried K&H for the first time on a Groupon deal. I was a bit concerned (and picky), because my first items framed here were three oil paintings done by my grandma, and an unrelated piece that required an 8-window custom mat. Well, I couldn't be happier with the results! So happy, in fact, that I just dropped off three more of my grandma's oil paintings for framing. From start to finish, the process is a breeze. Everyone is polite, professional and helpful. I've gone on a Saturday both times and was surprised to find no waiting line at all. I was prepared to spend half the afternoon there but I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. And when they provide a completion date, they stick to it. I got a call right on time when my framing was ready for pick up. Look no further. These folks know what they're doing. read more

This is my go-to place for framing, and they do a great job. There aren't many ways to elaborate on that central fact: they done frame the pictures good. The only reason I'm docking a star is because of the pricing -- an issue that seems to bother some other reviewers here. I'm not so much bothered by how much the average project costs as by the subjectivity of it all. See those Yelp deals advertised above? Both times I've brought them up at KH, a store employee has said that if I DON'T buy them, he'll actually have more flexibility to give me his "best price." He does some napkin carry-the-one type math to show me why that is, but all I can tell is that it'll be cheaper not to buy the coupon, which... makes no sense. Employees also try to upsell you with "museum-quality glass" and whatever, but that doesn't bother me as much. Maybe it really is better. I just want to be able to understand the complete breakdown of parts and labor going into a project, and I hate the feeling of having to haggle over a purchase as unimportant as art framing. It doesn't matter that much, though. They're good at what they do. read more

I love this place. Have taken four to five framing projects there, always get great customer service, great prices, great work done. The first time I went there was when I was framing a fantastic piece of art I received as a graduation gift. I took it somewhere else first, and the staff there just couldn't help me choose something that seemed right. Then I came here, and within minutes, these folks helped me pick out the perfect matting and frame. I won't go anywhere else now. Another reason I'm a big supporter is that we actually recently just had a miscommunication, and they are totally amenable to fixing it, even though I fully believe it could have been a miscommunication on my part. I won't bore you with the details; the point is that I am impressed by their desire to make me completely happy, at some cost to them, even when they've already given me what probably I asked for (but didn't mean to). I am a self-admitted frame whore: even though we are already out of wall space, I can't stop buying things and then framing them. So I know I'll be back. read more

I could not be more pleased with the impeccably professional service I received at KH Art & Framing. I needed to get a photo matted and framed and the staff at KH were extremely patient in answering my questions and showing me multiple different mat, framing, style and color combinations... all the while working to accommodate my budget. Even better, when I returned to pick up the finished project, I was pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a silk mat, even though I had chosen (and already paid for) lower quality matting material! Wow!! My faith in retail has been restored ... I guess customer service is not dead, after all. Bottom line, it took KH approximately one week to turn a simple photo into a stunning work of art. I really appreciated their low-to-no pressure sales technique, patient and professional demeanor, and timeliness in completing my job. This place is as good as its gets. I will return again and again .... and urge family, friends, and total strangers to do the same. read more

I am very pleased with my framing experience at KH. I found a very nice but inexpensive poster online, and I wanted to turn it into a nice piece of artwork. I went to KH, and a guy helped me find a suitable wood frame. (It wasn't the friendliest service, hence the minus 1 star above, but it got the job done though!) When the total price came to more than I wanted to pay (I mean, after all, it was a poster...), the guy suggested going with a smaller but similar frame. That brought my total framing job to less than $100, and it turned out that the frame was a better fit anyway. They estimated that it would be ready in a week, but it was done in half the time. I just picked my finished piece up today, and it was expertly done. The piece looks tasteful and expensive, and I can't wait to hang it. I would definitely come back here for my future framing needs. P.S. Check the store website for coupons. They are often even better deals than you find in the little Yelp discount box above. read more

I'm a picky pain to deal with as a customer. So framing was no exception. After living in the area for many years, I've researched the best framing spots and always were angry at the prices and less than perfect results. Enter "K&H." I can tell you hands down this is the BEST framing shop within 3 states. They've always beat other inflated pricing (e.g- Michaels exorbitant costs) and even beat/price match. The 2 brothers who own it are always friendly and welcoming, and dealing with a picky customer like myself is saying something. They are thorough perfectionists and go the extra mile. I've been using them for years for custom (black metal) frame jobs and just recently had them do a couple more unique (oversized) projects. Not only did they turn out perfectly, the guy followed me out to my car (without me asking) to ensure my car was big enough to transport them. Turned out it wasn't and so he had another colleague drive the prints back to my house!!! No charge. This caliber of service can be found nowhere else around here. And couple great prices, friendly service, and top craftsmanship....you need look no further. read more

I went here on a recommendation to get some one of a kind family photos that has faded and deteriorated over the years scanned and recoloured. I was uneasy leaving them there in the first place because the store was dirty and unorganised. Against my better judgement I agreed to let them do the work. I should have stuck with my first reaction. They lost several one of a kind photos that were left in their care and the color corrections ere a joke. They scan them with a flat bed scanner and just let the software that came with the scanned correct the color. I could have bought my own scanned and saved myself close to $100 and got the same results. I also would not have lost irreplaceable family photos. I would not go here again and I recommend to anyone that has something you consider priceless to go somewhere else. They treated me as though I was the issue when I pointed out that there was stuff missing. There was no process to look for it and I was just ushered out the door. I am pretty sure my mother will never trust me with something like this again. Getting them corrected and framed was going to be a retirement present for her. read more

The staff at KHA &F were very patient with me as I chose from their large selection of samples. They allowed me to take my time while giving me good advice on my selections. I finally narrowed it down to one sample after getting opinions from various staff members. Just a few days later, I was very pleased when I picked up the framed mosaic.
