My Firm was referred to ABC by one of our long-term vendors to complete a graphics request for our managing partners. The vendor cannot seem to get instruction right. they have delivered 3 incorrect finished products and when we contacted Randy Sweetman, we were immediately met with aggression and attitude. They were not willing to own up to their string of mistakes and to my surprise, Randy Sweetman began yelling at me on the phone. When I asked him not to raise his voice at me, he attempted to gas light me and tell me I am yelling at him. This has been the most bazar customer service experience I have every encountered. We have paid for this project and have still not received the correct finished product. It was clear Randy Sweetman is not interested in retaining business from one of the top 5 law firms in the country. We will be taking our business to a vendor that respects their customers and takes pride in delivering quality results. I was suggest avoiding this vendor. read more

First things first - I think the name of the place is actually ABC Imaging (not Imagin). I couldn't find them listed online when I needed a print job - which is unfortunate, because they're pretty great and conveniently located near the dupont circle metro (south exit). I was walking by (by which I mean I was booking it down the street, of course) on my way to kinkos and decided to stop in. I had a teeny tiny job, 13 pages or so, and they look more like a big print job kind of place. However, the guy I talked to was totally nice about it, spoke English, and had clearly been to college. He took my flash drive and printed the stuff out for a whopping 4 cents a page on nice paper and made sure that everything came out correctly. Oh wait. How funny. That's not 'whopping' at all, is it? Most other places (ahem....kinkos...cough cough) charge at least 10 cents if not more. It adds up. Try this place out. read more

However, the response time to my questions about my order via email were slow (I had to call in after two separate 1 hour periods waiting for a response). I also asked them to call me once they were done so I could pick them up. After waiting 3 hours, I called to check and was told they had been ready for most of the afternoon. For over 20+ years I have used ABC Imaging while working at other firms in the AEC industry. They have provided numerous printing services: huge proposals, posters, reprographic services, marketing materials, etc. When we started our own firm a few years ago, I automatically thought ABC Imaging would be more expensive than your well-known "neighborhood" national chain. When I got a $300+ per set quote for drawings, something said get some other quotes. The one-store local shop never got back to me but ABC Imaging did and their price was about $60 less per set! I was then re-connected with the last ABC account rep I used at my former employer. He told me he would also be my firms rep if we opened an account & sent me a credit app. A month later I needed prints but they were from an architect outside of the US and some deciphering was needed. I called the account rep and explained the situation. He assured me that ABC could assist and gave me a few names of who to speak with. I put the documents on a thumb drive and went down to ABC. The general manager actually spent over an hour with me making sure I extracted the English version of the documents. This saved me a lot of money because printing the other versions was a waste but I need to make sure I had ALL documents. The files were a mess so this was a tedious task. I was not expecting his help but really appreciated the GM's assistance and thought, "maybe this is a slow day for him, no way can he do this all the time". Though I was will to pay COD as I had done the time before, my credit app was approved within hours and a few more hours later I received a call that my print job was at the front desk. ABC was happy to deliver them but as a small firm, I like to get face time with my vendors when I can. I am a small, local, woman-owned firm and like to work with small, local firms whenever possible; and on occasion even willing to pay a little more to support the "little guy". I never really considered ABC Imaging a little firm, but they are local and they are a lot smaller than the well-known "neighborhood" national chain. I was also presently surprised that my print job was not as much as I thought it would be cost wise. I now feel silly to have thought that ABC Imaging would have cost more. I have never had a problem with their customer service before and it was on point this time as well. I like that fact their counter is open late (10pm?) I know in the past I have worked a Friday night until Saturday morning, dropped off a job and been able to get it Monday morning. I have notified all staff that ABC Imaging is now our go to for printing services here on out. And once again, I am an ABC Imaging (happy) customer! read more

Our Portland architecture office had a very large order we sent to ABC with a quick turnaround time required --over 5,000 pages, mix of color and black and white, mix of letter and tabloid sizes, and broken out into several bound volumes. I went to ABC Imaging to print a project I had been working on for months. So I was looking for a place that would treat my work with care and that's what I got. They were professional, helpful and thorough. I worked with Rick. He even called me with questions about what I wanted after I had left the shop. When I got the first proof, the only thing that was off was that some text was too close to the binding. Which was my fault. I expected to have to go home, make the change, return with the corrected file, etc. But Rick opened my original file back up and made the correction for me. The finish product looked great. It was awesome to finally it in my hand. I expected that the process of printing the document would be excruciating. But it was very easy at ABC. I would recommend it if you're looking for a place with knowledgeable people and excellent customer service. read more

I've had overall very nice experience with them. I needed to print 2 non-standard, panoramic type pictures (9"*18"), and they did their work very quickly. Negative side: it wasn't too cheap. Let's say, it was more than I had expected. Also, they have 2 offices: 1) where they receive and return orders and 2)the printing office, which is in the next building. The front desk person could not give me the estimate of how much it would cost me, so I needed to go to the printing office in another building and speak with their technical staff personally. Which was, on the other hand, better, because I was able to explain what exactly I needed. Other than that, the staff was friendly, work was done very quickly and the quality of the prints is fine. read more

I had an especially awful experience with another DC print shop and needed some booklets printed in a hurry for a deadline. I came in late in the evening and Nicole took me down and we sat at her desk where I was able to pick out the type of paper that I wanted for the cover and pages. The selection was great and I found the perfect stock and poundage that I wanted. Then we discussed the binding and other details, which she carefully wrote down. I came back in the morning and the box was waiting at the reception desk all neatly packaged up. I opened it and flipped through the booklets and they were better than perfect. I would recommend calling them or stopping in for any questions. I had received a quote from them earlier in the week via email/online form that seemed wonky (which prompted me to go to the other place mentioned at the beginning) but when I went in and saw the operation, I was put at ease. I finally have a print shop in DC that I trust and will go to them from now on after testing a bunch of print shops. If anything is not printed correctly, they take the onerous and correct the issues. read more
