By far my favorite nail place in the area. I actually drive a bit to get there because I love it so much. The manager is super friendly and always remembers everyone. No pink & whites. What they did do was a very thin layer of acrylic which was filed basically off, then they painted the French manicure. I had chipped and broken 3 nails just by the time I got home, within an hour. In the next four days, I have a total of 5 broken nails and 3 of those nails are peeling off. I should have walked out the instant the receptionist told me they "don't do that" when he referred to my acrylics that I had on. I asked if he was just referring to the purple powder used for my tips or the acrylic itself and he said the purple (language barrier was probably problematic too). Now I will have spent twice as much to have my nails filled as i now have to have a brand new full set done to fix this mess. The massage was nice but not nice enough to make up for the horrible product. I will NOT be back to waste my money here again. read more

hit or miss. today i decided i'm not going back. there are lots of nail salons in the area and this hasn't won my loyalty just yet. it depends solely on the massage. there is a gentleman who gives the most incredible complimentary 3-4 minute massage, which is why i feel greedy. it's complimentary -- but if he's not available, it's not worth it. the woman who painted my nails the last three times is very meh. brief arm rub, very brief buff/file/cuticle trim. i feel like i pay more attention when i do it myself. also, the teenage girls "working" at the front giggling with each other over facebook pictures and intermittently answering the phone and reluctantly giving manicures are a big turn off. the drying station is just a station, very little drying. you're better off blowing on your fingers and walking out the door. also no instant dry aerosol spray. i will say, one time - it was very very slow and she gave me a paraffin dip, which was a pleasant surprise treat. colors are lots of duplicates, not a lot of variety. the color i chose today had a funky brush she wasn't pleased with after three nails and i had to a chose a different color. another meh. tools come out of a drawer, not a sanitized bin. so i just hope they clean them in between... i'm not blown away by this place. i've given it more than a few tries and am never impressed. also -- cash only for services under $25. and they prefer cash tips. will accept a card but with a sigh/eye roll. read more

I don't know why I continue to let time go by and give this place multiple chances. I always find myself irritated and disappointed. The male who I believe is the owner is quick to give an attitude (on more than one occasion), the employees are nice, but often rush through the services. I just find that the service does not hold up to the image they are trying to portray. They have a nice looking salon, but the service is mediocre. The last and final time I was there the male wanted to charge $15 for gel removal because it was from another salon... They soak your finger nails in acetone while you get a pedicure to remove... really... I'm not paying $15 for that. I will gladly pay top dollar for my services, but I'm not getting ripped off with an attitude. I decided to stay however, and go with a pedicure only, but even the pedicure was a disappointment. The absolute best spa mani-pedi for the pittance of the price. Both hands and feet get a full scrub, full massage up to your knees, and then a mud wrap for your feet, followed by a hot stone massage. Then, as your nails dry, someone comes and gives you a back massage. All for 55 bucks. Blew my mind. If you are in Ardmore, do NOT go anywhere else!! read more

I went here for a gel manicure before a vacation. I had no problem with the service while there, however my nails started chipping and peeling three days after I had the gel manicure. They are supposed to last for three weeks, not three days. I was extremely disappointed and won't be going back for a gel manicure again. read more

Horrible. I should have learned my lesson by now. My manicures never look professionally done. Hanging cuticles, poor paint job, and lack luster shine. Finally giving up on this place. Manicures are suppose to be enjoyable and the aftermath at princess nails is anything but. Princess Nails appears clean on the surface. But careful inspection shows them reusing tools without sterilizing. Also, they rush your pedicure and manicure--foolishly thinking they can do both equally well. The former statement could not be further from the truth. Yes, they pull out the hot rocks and cover you in a cheap lotion but before we get fancy... let's go over the basics. How about you learn to properly file and shape a nail. It was horrific. I went home and fixed everything. My toenails are way too short, the shape is awful (they filed all my nails on a diagonal) and my fingernails look like small children did them. Last but certainly not least, they speak in Spanish! I think that's rude when you are working in the United States on people who speak English as a first language. Well surprise, surprise.....I speak and understand Spanish too. Lo siento! You don't get a tip, my approval or my money ever again. Avoid this place like the plague; they are just not that talented. As for the good reviews they have received thus far take them with a grain of salt. The bad reviews were dead on ladies. I have had my nails down all over the world. And I think if you didn't know better it is easy to be impressed with Princess Nails. However, this Princess was underwhelmed....they get two poorly shaped nails down! Ok I have to admit the place was very clean and did not have that "nail salon" smell that you normally get. I was waited on right away which was also very nice as it was 5:30. Having just moved to the area I am still trying to find the best place to get my pink and white nails filled. I don't see this as the place. The lady that did my nails was nice, and didn't try to make small talk which is also nice. She did not use the white power for the tips, it was a paint, and then the pink was actually more of a clear so that now you can see through and see the old pink outgrowth. Also, in the 15+ years I have had nails on I have never saw them use files, yep this place did. So instead of having nice thin nails that look real, I have thick nails that look fake. The price for this was $40 which coming from the Chicago area is still a bit on the high side. As for the massage, it was nice, but also sort of unnerving too. read more

Worst $60 (not including tip) I've ever spent! My friend raved about this place, how they gave you a hot oil and stone massage and what a great job they did....I have NO idea what she was talking about. The staff seems to not be trained AT ALL. They barely exfoliated my feet (the lady just did a quick brush brush with the light pumice-like exfoliator pad and used an exfoliator ON MY LEGS) The other thing is she globbed nailpolish on my toenails ( I thought it was common knowledge that you always put a thin coat on first). Basically, all she did was rub my legs (not in a professional way by any means). The ladies doing my nails and pedicure were talking about one of the customers as she was walking out saying goodbye and thank you (in Spanish, I suppose thinking I don't understand Spanish) and what they were saying was rude. If I had time I would have gone to my regular salon and gotten a real pedicure where my feet would be soft and the polish not thick. I even had someone tell me at a bbq the next day that I should get a pedicure at a salon bc they saw how sloppy the polish was and thought I did it myself! The man at the front was nice, but the colors were mostly dark (not Spring and Summer) and the staff is untrained and unprofessional. Will NOT go back and definitely won't recommend but warn people not to go there. read more

I have been going to Princess nails around 3x/month for the past 4 years and it's consistently dependable for a mani/pedi. Not a spa experience, but a step up from your basic nail salon. It's extremely clean, friendly staff, always a new selection of colors (essie, OPI, CND, organic line, etc.) and a good value. I never make an appointment, always run in either at lunch or on the weekend and there is never a long wait. They add a free paraffin treatment to all manis in the winter and a you always get a hot stone/oil massage with a pedi, plus a shoulder massage while drying. There is a convenient parking lot right out back with a back door. They will give you toe-less socks and free flip flops if you forget yours. They offer a points card where you accrue points for free services, and the card can be used at Ardmore, Newtown Square (Blooming), and other locations the owners have. Would definitely recommend out of all the quickie style nail salons in the area. read more
