A new favorite hotel in Waikiki. The view is gorgeous, the amenities are top notch, and everything about our experience made us feel as though we were expected to return some day, which we will. One of the important standards I look for in a hotel stay, is a focus on supporting locals. For me, if there's a Starbucks in the lobby, then I'm already disappointed. This hotel has one of my favorite local chain cafes, Honolulu Coffee Company. The only local café that has consistently made perfect crema foe decades. Starbucks baristas are not trained for this. The hotel also has restaurants with lots of local flavor. The sushi buffet is amazing but difficult to get a reservation on the weekends. 100 Sails also has a buffet though ordering ala cart seemed like the best choice for us. Best place to view the Friday fireworks. Our only disappointment was how much street noise we could hear throughout the night, even though we were on the 28th floor. read more

My group stayed here for one night during our friend's bachelorette party and wow, Prince Waikiki sets a high bar. The room we had was spacious with a great view of the marina. The room was clean, the bathroom was nice, and we had a great time staying here. I also appreciate them having water refill stations throughout the lobby. The staff was friendly from bringing our luggage to our room, to taking and bringing our car to us, and exchanging friendly conversations. We're grateful for the wonderful experience and would recommend Prince Waikiki for anyone considering the area. read more

Full discloser that I was not an overnight staying guest at Prince Waikiki. It was Valentine's Day weekend as I was attending a wedding party. Wedding Ceremony was in the Lani Le'a Chapel there after the Wedding Reception held in the Piinaio Ballroom. Very beautiful event that could seat possibly over 200 guests in attendance. Very clean restroom facilities were just outside of the ballroom, parking was either valet or self park in the hotel that's easy and convenient. Also if you're an out of town guest, Ala Moana Center is just walking distance from the hotel and more shopping in Waikiki in the opposite direction. Banquet staff was exceptional, food and beverage service great, ballroom atmosphere was elegant. If it was a lunch affair, it could be smart casual attire. If I was a visitor to Honolulu, I'd consider booking hotel accommodation here at Prince Waikiki. read more

It's the hotel stay that I didn't know I needed. I originally wanted to be closer to Waikiki beach but after spending our holiday here, I'm so thankful that we booked at this property. Pristine grounds. I felt at ease the moment we stepped out of our rental car. Check in was painless. They do have to take all guests info including kids names. A total of 34 floors. Sushi restaurant on first floor, 100 Sails Restaurant on the 3rd, and the pool/lounge, gym on the 5th floor. Do not choose a room near the elevators on the 5th floor. We got the 30th floor and it was so quiet with the most beautiful view of the ocean. Fireworks Friday was a nice view from our room as well. The separate tub from shower was nice to have when you have kids. We loved the bidet bathroom with the heated seat. Ahhhh. We absolutely loved the pool area. The infinity pool was relaxing. The kids enjoyed the main pool with the deepest depth at just under 4ft. We frequented the jacuzzi every day. The servers are so nice. To get to Waikiki we opted for the day pass on the Waikiki Trolley pink line for $6. Ala Moana mall is walking distance. I absolutely cannot wait to be back! read more

Overall, it was a pleasant stay, though the property is clearly on the older side. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and housekeeping was generally good, though not especially detail-oriented. I tend to notice the small things, and I did spot hairs on the robe from a previous guest as well as a few stray hairs along the bathroom baseboards. :( We stayed in a corner suite, and while the sun shades didn't seem to function perfectly, it wasn't enough of an issue for me to raise a concern--just another reminder that this is an older property. Unfortunately, the bed was a major downside. It was quite lumpy and soft, which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. I'm someone who really needs a firm mattress, and in this case, the bedding felt overdue for an update. For a hotel stay, sleep comfort is important, and this is an area that could use attention. I also didn't enjoy the scent of the provided lotions, soaps, shampoo, and conditioner. The fragrance was strong enough that we ended up purchasing our own products at a local drugstore. That said, I truly appreciated that housekeeping provided fresh towels daily without us needing to ask or leave them on the floor. I understand and respect sustainability efforts, but guest cleanliness is important, and this thoughtful touch didn't go unnoticed. I stayed here 3-3-26 for 3 nights. I booked through booking.com The checkin process was smooth. My 2 queen bed room was located on the 14th floor which had a great view of the harbor. Every room at this hotel has a great view of the ocean. Note: your room comes with a mini fridge but no microwave. I like that the toilet has a bidet and separate shower & tub. I wasn't a fan of the fragrant shower gel and hand soap that was provided though. The fragrant smell was too strong. I like that the room came with 2 free refillable water bottles as this hotel does have water stations. I enjoyed the pool area and was able to always find a lounge chair to relax. This hotel is about a 10 min walk to the Ala Moana shopping mall which was convenient. It's about a 30 min walk to International Market Place. Or you can take the $6.00 Trolly I would definitely stay here again as the next hotel I stayed after this one was not at all what I expected. read more

Staycation at the Prince Waikiki hotel for this past Valentine's weekend. We got a room in the club premiere oceanfront room type. We enjoyed all the great perks that comes with staying in club premier! There is the club lounge access nearby the pool that they offer complimentary unlimited all day light bites and snacks that changes throughout different hours, wine and beer on tap and its own club concierge. The room also offers complimentary breakfast buffet at 100 sails! There are 33 floors and we were on the 31st. We had a nice view of the ocean. The room comes with a mini fridge and refillable water bottles but ice/water machines are on certain floors. There is a bath tub, stand shower and bidet. Clean and comfortable room on the smaller side but perfect for the two of us with a king size bed. We had a complimentary sparking wine and letter sent to our room for spending our anniversary. It was a nice touch! The infinity pool over looks the harbor and there is a bigger pool with jacuzzi as well. The bar workers are attentive and come around if you'd want to order any food or drinks. Fitness center on the same floor. Clean and good machines to work out. Even their resort charge it includes complimentary yoga, access to the Honolulu Museum of Art, Bishop Museum and more. This is a review based on July 4, 2025 holiday weekend. Check-in at 3:00 pm We reserved three sleeping rooms but only one was ready. Front desk long line and a staff were pleasant but needed more for busy holiday weekend which fell on a Friday - a work holiday for many. When rooms were ready, our electronic key didn't work for one. No phone in hallway so returned to front desk and she escorted us back to room to make sure key cards worked. We like bathroom layout- toilet separate room with glass door and Totoro seats. Shower with on-wall shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. Bathtubs deep with slanted back rest. Complimentary shave kit, dental kit, facial masks and lotion. Our club rooms also had comp house slippers. In Lanai Suite we planned to host dinner for our children and order room service prior to fireworks. Press room service button on phone and let it ring ring ring no one picked up. Tried two more times. Still no one. Tried to call Front Desk - no one picks up. Then tried concierge - no one. Had to call outside line from my cell and person said they'd have room service call me. Evidently they have new phone system and the Lanai Suite phone not hooked up properly to the departments so no callerID showed. Why wouldn't they pick up a persistently ringing phone though? Okay, so we put in our order and that was good. She was very sweet- had her repeat back order since it was for 7 adults and 3 kids, she had it correct but when order came -missing 3 milks for kids. On to the reserved poolside cabanas. Booked two online and received email confirmation but no info where to check in, what time, location of cabanas. When we checked in I asked these questions to front desk and he said you check in at the pool. No one at the pool Saturday morning at 8:00 am. No signage in the cabanas with any helpful info. Called hotel operator from my cell (remember my hotel phone wasn't connecting) the girl said it should say on my confirmation. Yes but it didn't. Then I asked to connect me to pool and she was snippy -there's no one there yet. Okay so when will someone be there? Umm at 11:00. So basically the hotel charges you for a full day to reserve cabana but you cannot access until almost half the day is gone. At 11:00 we checked in by the bar and got our two cabanas with Terrie who was also our server and a hardworking girl. She and two others were kept running for drink and food orders from the time the bar opened at 11:00 till 7:45 pm. There are bathrooms on pool level behind the bar. It's a very narrow hallway to access so not sure if wheelchairs will fit. The deejay at lunch time had the volume on extra loud which did not allow guests to hear each other seated nearby and was unpleasant. The pool servers were superb which is why they get a Star! Terrie and two others kept checking to make sure we had what we needed on a regular basis. The second star goes to the Premium Club Lounge staff. This lounge is located on 5th floor next to pool. Professional and friendly staff make sure food and other items stocked, tables cleared and cleaned. Miki helped us the first day when our suite wasn't ready - she made us our keys right there when it was available so we didn't have to take elevator back down to lobby. All meals are buffet style and also provide snacks, beer/wine on tap, coffee/tea, juices, dessert and really a nice array. Check out - Lost a Star due to conflicting communications. Check-out is actually 11:00 and not 12:00 pm. Although the info we received at check-in said 12:00 noon. Some hotels slide a notice under your door the day before to remind you of check-out time and options. We didn't receive a notice but later a confirm email said 11:00 (which we didn't see until later since we don't check our emails on staycations), so thank goodness all our bags packed and ready to go before we went to breakfast because they lock you out at 11:00. Yes- locked out with no grace period. The way we found out was when hubby wanted to grab lunch in club lounge before we checked out. See pic attached stating checkout is 12:00 noon. His key wouldn't open the club door. Had to go to front desk at 11:07 am to have them reinstate keys. Natsuki did a great job being very gracious as she did this. She also contacted bell and valet to assist. Third and final star goes to the valet and bell staff. These people make a great first impression because they're very helpful and accommodating. No matter how busy they are, this is a constant attitude from them all and upon checking out we were lucky to have JT help us with his kind and humorous demeanor. In closing, be aware that this hotel may not be properly staffed for busy holidays. Be prepared to wait to check in, for your rooms, and almost half a day for your cabana. This past weekend the pool lounge chairs were full by 9:30 a.m. and there was also a concert in back area of pool which added to crowds. read more

This hotel used to be one of my favorites, but it feels like it has downgraded over time. We booked a king-size room with the Kamaʻāina discount, and while the room was decent, we expected to be on a higher floor since we paid for the king option. Instead, we were placed on the 6th floor, and when you open the window, you can see people walking right in front of the building--not exactly the view we hoped for. On top of that, one of the outlets in the room literally came off the wall when we unplugged a cord, which didn't feel very safe. The staff was okay but not particularly warm or welcoming, which was a bit disappointing. It used to feel friendlier here in the past. Another change that stood out was the parking situation--locals used to get free parking, but that's no longer offered, which makes the stay less convenient and definitely less of a value compared to before. On the positive side, checking out was smooth and simple. We were able to just call downstairs to check out, no need to go to the front desk, which made leaving hassle-free. Overall, the experience was average--nothing terrible, but it no longer feels like the hotel I once loved, and that's why I'm leaving a 3-star rating. read more

Want to start off by saying this is a nice hotel with a wonderful staff. Although when it comes to accidents that happens in their hotel don't expect them to compensate you in any way shape or form. We went there to spend a great Birthday Celebration and had plans afterwards but had to cancel because of this situation... I would expect with such high serviced hotel they would at least acknowledge that one of their valet employees had got into an accident with our car right in front of us while we was waiting to get our car back. Whether its the other drivers fault or the valet drivers fault our car was damaged enough for us not to use it and needs repairs.. We had to cancel our plans after dinner and how handle insurance claims. We had no car for over a month now and Prince First insurance is still trying to get it situated in order for our vehicle to get fixed. With this amount of stress this situation has put us through trying to work with our insurance waiting back and forth calls between the other driver and Prince First Insurance. The hotel managers has no consideration into what their employee did to our car and has no ways of apologizing for the incident. I would definitely be careful when staying at this property and hope they have a better way of reaching to their Loyal customers. read more

Knew we had to come back after our great experience during our wedding. Staff is still nice and friendly. Got an Oceanfront Harbor King room. Still a great view of the harbor and with the discounted rate I got off the site, it was a really good deal compared to similar hotels on Waikiki. Decided to park in the garage this time which made things a lot easier to get in and out of the hotel. The 5th floor pool was very nice and clean, with a great view of the ocean in the infinity pool. Anytime I do staycations it has to be here. It's conveniently located in walking distance from Ala Moana, the buffet is amazing, the rooms are beautiful, and the pool is so fun! Plus Fridays you can catch the fireworks show. I seriously love staying here. Our view from the room is so nice and I love just sitting by the window to watch the boats sail in a line. Had a lovely stay here! The Prince Waikiki is a beautiful hotel with the most beautiful view! We had a water facing room and it brought me so much joy to wake up to the view of the sun rising over the ocean. It is also centrally located with great service. The hotel itself has wonderful amenities! An infinity pool, a lobby with food options, refillable water bottle stations, a small gym, and business center. In the rooms there's a top notch view, A BIDET, a mini fridge, two complimentary and refillable water bottles, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Keep in mind that there are no microwaves in the room, but these can be requested at the front desk. I called the front desk to ask about a microwave and they ended up bringing one to the room. There are so many pros to this hotel, but a few minor cons: The hotel does not come with a complimentary/continental breakfast unless you are a club member. So we did have to go out for food for breakfast, but there are so many delicious places within walking distance. Secondly, the gym was a bit disappointing. The gym was small and tight as the machines seemed like they were all squeezed into there. There's only one set of dumbbells, no kettlebells, and one yoga mat (in poor condition). There were two treadmills, a bike or two, and few other things. Thankfully the gym was not too full so we were able to make do. But I did have to get creative to make enough floor space to use the yoga mat. Overall, a great hotel!! I recommend! read more

The Prince Waikiki has been my favorite place to staycation in Waikiki for 20+ years. The service, staff, and accommodations have always been A+++ each and every time I've stayed here. This past weekend we celebrated our first year anniversary with an overnight stay in the Lanai Suite. We enjoyed dinner at 100 sails and had an excellent view of the Friday night fireworks. The room was fabulous and the staff left us a celebratory glass of wine and card as an acknowledgement of our anniversary, which was unexpected and made our night even more special! The following morning a parade was scheduled to block roads going through Waikiki til noon, and wanting to avoid the mess of traffic, I inquired about a late check out and the front desk staff was graciously accommodating. Kamaaina discounts are great here. The only knock I can give is that parking can be really expensive, but sometimes the kamaaina rate can discount that cost. Valet parking is really convenient tho and the staff are fantastic. read more

I have been to the 100 Sails buffet many times but have never stayed at the hotel itself. I did a one night staycation here so did not get to see or do everything unfortunately. The room was nice, clean, and had what I'll call a post-modern tropical vibe. Shucks I wish I took room pictures without people in them to post, but you can look at other reviews. Think of wood, brown, beige, white, and uniquely shaped furniture. They provide refillable and reusable water bottles (refilling station in the lobby) which is a nice touch. The bathroom had a tub, shower, separate toilet room, and sink. I liked that they have bath products from Malie which is a local company. For those familiar with the brand, the scent of the products is Koke'e. (If you like the products, Malie has a store nearby at Ala Moana Center.) Unfortunately we did not have time to use the pool but they have two. One of them has an infinity edge which I imagine is nice to be in at sunset looking out over the harbor. As mentioned there is 100 Sails to eat at but we chose to go to Katsu Midori Sushi. I'll put that as a separate review but spoiler alert it was excellent! The room was quiet with great sunset and harbor/ocean views. If you are looking to be in the heart of Waikiki this is not right for you. If you want to be a little away from the crowds and be in walking distance of shops and restaurants at Ala Moana Center then this hotel is perfect. I'd also recommend it for locals as a staycation place as most of us want to relax and be in the heart of Waikiki. read more

We chose the 10:30AM pickup time and our order was ready for us on-time! We were greeted by the drive-thru staff and we showed them our online confirmation, our name was checked-off the list, and 2 large boxes and a brown bag containing the Pumpkin Haupia Chocolate Crunch Pie was loaded into the trunk for us! Loved my stay! All my friends who came to Hawaii recommend this place. From the moment I stepped out of my uber there's friendly gentlemen who greet you at the door and open it for you! Wow! Hospitality and customer service is excellent! Check in was smooth I was able to check in an hour early before my 3pm check in time. The gentleman who helped me was really nice too. Automatically upgraded me since I was part of American Express platinum cardholder. My room was located on the 25th floor and the view was spectacular. Everything looks nice and clean. Location is great, it's located right next to Ala Moana mall if you love shopping like me. A good 15 min walk to luxury row. What I love about this hotel is that they have water refill station so bring your hydroflask & owala bottles! Love how environmentally conscious they are. Don't have to constantly go to abc store to buy water bottles. All the staffs here are so nice! Greet you with a smile every time you pass by. We stayed at Prince Waikiki for one night before our flight back to the mainland, and we were so glad we chose this hotel. It was one of the better-priced options in Waikiki (which can be so expensive), and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel was incredibly clean, the beds were super comfy, and the overall vibe was really relaxing. We even got a late checkout, which was such a nice bonus and made our travel day so much easier. We had ocean view from the 32 floor and the view is amazing and beautiful. This time we decide to get the club members price n it come with all kinds of goodies. The club house is what caught our eyes. Nice little spot in the corner. All you can eat n drink. Breakfast lunch dinner. They have wine of 2 kines n beers of 2 kines. Water station, coffee tea n soda along with juices. For us it was worth the money n you saved big time by not going out to spend. The selection of foods is great. Very simple but elegant. This is a favorite hotel of ours when we visit Hawaii. All rooms have a great view, kept updated and cleaned completely every day. The staff is friendly and attentive. The location is perfect as it's a leisurely walk to the Ala Moana shopping mall and to the Waikiki beach walk. You could actually stay here and get to most places without a car rental. Most tours have pick up also at this hotel. They have 2 pools one is a zero edge lounge pool and they also have a jacuzzi or you could also take a quick walk and you can be floating in the Hilton Lagoon in 5 minutes. read more

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was nice, we were in room 1806 which was an ocean view room. Great view of the marina and the ocean behind it. There is no balcony, the windows open up, but there is no screen in the window. The bathroom is nice, there is a shower & bathtub & a separate toilet. I like how both the toilet & shower have a door on them. I wish the view wasn't blocked by the window pane, it's a little annoying. We ordered room service twice and the food was pretty good, the first time my fries were too salty and the second time they didn't bring our extra water. Other than that the food was good. The desserts were all so good! Highly recommend their desserts. The AC in here had a hard time turning on, we had to call to have the engineer come up & take a look at it. Come to find out the window has a sensor on it that disables the AC. Overall this hotel is pretty good, I just wish the window/ view situation was better. Also wanted to add that there is a lot of doors slamming all around us & then there was a random security alarm warning that came on overhead & was on repeat in English & Japanese 5 times before someone turned it off! Imagine if there was an actual emergency & you were out of your room on an activity? You wouldn't even know what's happening & all of your belongings are still in the room. It's pretty ridiculous. We checked into the Waikiki Prince Hotel right around 3:00 PM and I was quite surprised there wasn't a long line of people checking in. Staff working the front desk was JJ. JJ went through the whole process swiftly and then gave pointers on dining and other things to do at the hotel. I booked an ocean front room and even though it wasn't an upper floor the room had beautiful views. For some really strange reasons with different hotel chains I've been getting rooms with room safe problems. On this particular occasion the safe was in lock mode when we checked into. So, I couldn't program an already locked safe and called the front desk and had a maintenance worker sent up . Maintenance worker came up really quickly and said that we are sorry for this inconvenience. Safe was reset and the whole process took less then 10 minutes. Staff was always friendly and very helpful when greeting us. The infinity pool was a nice place to hang out after a long day of shopping at Ala Moana also. Very short walk to Ala Moana so no taxi or Uber needed most summer days. read more

It is a little on the pricier side, but I was pleasantly surprised by the property and rooms. The rooms are ocean view with both a tub and shower, very clean and comfortable. The infinity pool is lovely, and the hot tub is even better. They have music on the weekends, and you can see the fireworks on Fridays. The food is incredible. Even though the room itself shows signs of age, it was still elegant and tasteful. We especially enjoyed the bathroom amenities and the expansive ocean view. Waking up to the blue/turquoise ocean right out the window was a dream come true. The location was away from the buzz of it all, but close enough to the places we'd like to visit and walkable to breakfast spots, certain restaurants, and convenience stores. Had an ocean front room (different from ocean view). There is no lanai but I knew that however the windows open really wide. Almost feels like the ocean is right there. This hotel was very clean throughout the lobby and inside the room. My room was a king. Was very comfortable. One of the cleanest rooms I have been in for a while in Waikiki. A clean room is very important to me as it sets the tone for my stay. I could not find any dust, finger prints on mirrors, and carpet clean. Overall review decorated nicely and maintained. Came here for a conference. The staff were super friendly and I couldn't have asked for a better experience with them. They were prompt. They were courteous. They seemed like they were enjoying life. There's a few different levels of this place. And it can get confusing. The escalators lead up to the ballrooms and a breakfast spot but those elevators don't give you access to the rooms. If you stay in the ground floor, you walk towards the sushi restaurant and those elevators take you to the rooms and to pool located on the fifth floor. I ate at the restaurant there. It was pretty okay for lunch, it's not going to fill you up and it was pretty pricey as is much of the area, but the views were gorgeous. On the ground floor where you check in, there is a coffee shop and a mini store. read more

Normally, we stay closer to the strip, but when we heard about all of the extras for kama'āina, we decided to check out the Prince, and wow, we were glad we did. First of all, get a club room. The access to the club lounge and the breakfast buffet at 100 sails was such a great perk. We ate breakfast there every morning, stopped in at the lounge for small bites and drinks at lunch, and visited every night, even having dinner in the lounge on several nights, And vegetarians, let them know and they will make you a special vegetarian entree. This alone made the stay perfect, and we'll stay here every time because of it. Outside of that, we had a great room on the 31st floor. A stunning view and great design inside. Another star: they have a bidet! We have been using a bidet since the pandemic and we're always so bummed (pun intended) when we stay somewhere without one. Parking was not a problem, but watch your trunk as the ceilings are low. If you have the kama'āina rate, the parking is 50% off and the resort fee is included. Was great. Personally, we loved the location. It's more private and everything is a short walk, shuttle, or ride away. For the first time since we were kids, we rode the trolley. Good times. Staff were excellent as well and the rates were good. 100% recommend. read more

This hotel used to be our favorite hotel to stay even when we were living here in HI but not anymore. So disappointing to find out the self parking is not included in the resort fees (anymore)which is $45 +tax per day. Resort fees are $42 +tax per day. Resort fees & parking are paid separately when you check-in. We basically paid almost $1k for parking during our 10-day stay since we don't benefit from resort charges. Parking is pretty tight & limited so we had to valet more than few times. Still, the room, view, & overall service is still good. Although they declined to give us half off on resort charges. Also, the housekeeper keeps forgetting to give us 4 bath towels daily so I always had to call. Overall, not worth $500($400 room + resort fees/parking) a day if you're staying long unless you can take advantage of their special offers. read more

The Prince Waikiki is always clean, well decorated, and staffed great! The staff is always professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your needs/wants. The rooms and suites are well worth the pricing. Rooms are always clean and held to high standards for guests enjoyment. The pool is a good size and the pool deck area is very spacious for many guests to enjoy. Some nights and days they have live entertainment near the pool! Cabanas are available for rent during the day and it is definitely recommended if you plan to be pool side all day! read more

I've always stayed here in the past and have loved my experiences. Prince Waikiki is a beautiful hotel with a great location--close to Ala Moana Shopping Center, the convention center, and Waikiki. However, during my last few visits I've noticed an increase in homeless individuals wandering around the property. There have been a few occasions where I've seen them in the guest room hallways; there doesn't seem to be any physical security measures for non-guests to access the whole hotel. The lobby restrooms are left unlocked - which isn't necessarily bad - but it adds to the appeal for people who are NOT guests to be in the area. For the comfort and safety of guests, I recommend the hotel consider locking the restrooms and making them accessible only by room key cards, and/or ensuring that security is patrolling the lobby and property regularly. Most hotels in Waikiki have noticeable security presence, and I think Prince Waikiki would benefit greatly from doing the same. This is still a wonderful hotel with excellent amenities and staff, but improvements in security would help maintain the high standard that guests have come to expect. read more

I did end up staying at the Prince Waikiki less than a month after my first post. I remember having an issue with checking in and let it go. I remember being given an accessible room. I wouldn't care except I enjoyed taking a bath in the tub from my previous stay (the shower was separate) and the accessible room had the tub and shower combo. I remember being moved after visiting the front desk and had no other issues the rest of the trip. We visited the dinner buffet one of the nights which I remembered enjoying. Fast forward now to 2 years later. My husband and I are visiting Oahu again after spending 5 days in Maui. Even though my husband has the 2nd to highest level status for Marriott and could stay at any of the Marriotts on the island like we did in Maui, I wanted to go back to the Prince Waikiki. Please tell me why for a third time in a row, my check-in was not a seamless experience? We got to our Club room and discovered that we were once again given an accessible room?! I called the front desk and was told they were sold out and could not get into a regular Club room until the next day. My husband was pretty upset and went down to the lobby himself and was told the same thing. He was offered a regular room and we could keep the Club privileges. We decided to stay in the room for the night since it was at least on a higher floor. At this point I'm pretty disappointed with the hotel. An upgrade or discount on something would have been nice for the inconvenience. My husband looked on the website and they had suites available. We get an apology and can check out of the room in the morning to be moved to a new room but there's no service recovery. We're going to continue to enjoy our vacation but it's not a great start. read more

Lovely hotel. My daughter & I stopped on Oahu to visit family and this hotel met our needs. The entire room was larger than expected. I love it when the bathroom is just as spacious as the rest of the room. But most of all, the air conditioning worked well. We were also able to open our window which is a great addition. Great restaurants near by (Red Lobster, Chart House, McDonalds) stores and Alamoana Center near by. read more

Attended an event at the Prince Waikiki. Ample parking- although the stalls are on the small side. There are a coffee shop, a Mana Up store of items made in Hawaii. Also a logo shop for that perfect shirt. Beautiful lobby with cool inviting furniture. Event rooms are on the 3rd floor. Never know who you will meet at this popular hotel. I met the longtime president of the chamber of commerce. Great restaurants in my opinion with unobstructed ocean views while dining by the window . Employees are personable and will help you to find where you need to go. read more

We had an absolute Magical Time at the Prince Waikiki!! It began in a Very Different way- our flight was rough- I was pretty motionless sick on arrival to the resort. We arrived at 11am and the check in is later- Pammi at the reception desk was so kind, seeing my condition she quickly found a room we could check into immediately!! Kudos and 5 stars for that alone!!! Next morning, I was still so ill we actually had to call EMTs and had an ambulance ride to the hospital. I have a heart condition and I was extremely dehydrated from the motion sickness all night. So, that was kinda embarrassing- the staff again was caring, empathetic and went out of their way to assist! Now, that the dramatic stuff was over- we returned to our room, and vacation knowing I was okay. The staff left a sweet card, sparkling cider for our Anniversary! The room was gorgeous- an expansive view of the marina and ocean!! Loved the floor to ceiling windows that opened to the views!! Loved the accommodations in the bathroom- a nice sized tub, big shower and the toilet was delightful...seriously, I want one like it now! Warmed seat and all the bells & whistles you wouldn't expect!! Maid service was always prompt, friendly and left our room fresh and tidy each day! We stayed 9 days and were very happy with the easy location to marina areas, the beach access and ease of walking to all our activities!! We only rented cars on occasions we wanted to go the North Shore. Our stay was truly a delightful experience and the Prince staff all made it enjoyable with their hospitality and aloha spirit!! We also, had a lovely brunch at 100 sails- the brunch had so many options!! Wonderful! * Suggestions- a facility on site for guests to do laundry on long stays, they did have dry cleaning services but that was expensive - most resorts try to have a facility on each floor. One would be nice!! Also, posting a Larger Sign at the infinity pool that it's Adult Only! Parents kept bringing their kids into the pool area designated for the Adults...They had the whole main pool to frolic in. Why do folks think Rules don't apply to them- So Annoying!! The room at Prince Waikiki was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was the worst I've encountered in the U.S. in the past 20 years, and I never expected this from a Japanese-branded hotel in Hawaii during the Christmas holiday. When I tried to ask about a reservation/room assignment issue, the check-in manager Ivy was extremely arrogant and dismissive. She didn't listen to my questions and her attitude felt like, "I'm in charge here. I've seen guests like you. Take it or leave it." After speaking with her, I honestly wanted to walk out of the hotel immediately -- if our booking had been refundable, we would have left. Here's what happened: We are a family with two small children and had two rooms booked through Expedia. The hotel told us that due to high occupancy, they could only place our two rooms on different floors across the two towers, and that if we wanted two rooms on the same floor, we would need to pay for an upgrade. I explained how inconvenient that would be for a family with young kids. Expedia showed that we were eligible for a free upgrade as a member benefit, but the front desk said they could not see that option and asked us to contact Expedia and have Expedia call them. Expedia tried calling, but no one answered the hotel phone. I returned to the front desk with the Expedia live chat, hoping they could help. At that point, Ivy called me over saying she could assist. I told her it was okay, but she then stood there and sarcastically mocked the situation, saying that even if the upgrade went through, they still would not have rooms that could keep our family together because they were basically full. She completely ignored what I told her -- that another staff member had already seen availability for rooms together -- and she also ignored the issue of not answering Expedia's call. Then she abruptly pushed us to another staff member. That front desk agent checked again, and guess what: we paid for an upgrade and received two adjacent rooms on the same floor. So it was possible. Ivy showed no professionalism, patience, or basic willingness to understand the situation. This should have been a simple issue to solve with normal courtesy. Instead, she acted as if guests were bothering her and as if we were "asking a favor" just to get help. To top it off, she loudly and dramatically slammed on the keyboard and then smugly handed me a guest survey card with her name written on it. Great room. But a truly unacceptable check-in experience, and especially disappointing during a family holiday trip. read more
