Great pet friendly hotel! Thank you for the doggie bowl, blanket and pee pads! Nice quiet beach access right outside!

The Lotus was the perfect hotel for us. It is down at the end of the strip towards Diamond Head. It is still an easy walk to the center of Waikiki but the Lotus area is much more quiet. Our room was clean and modern and was only a very short walk, less then 3 minutes, to the beach. The hotel provided beach towels and beach chairs. They also had bikes available for hotel guests. The laundry room was also free for guests, We would definitely stay there again if we return to Honolulu.

Front entry it was so wonderful!

Incredible stay very peaceful two beaches in inn 2-4 min walk so wonderful and relaxing the front desk was amazing and the cleaning staff was wonderful about coming at whatever time was best for us! Def a repeat for us we loved it!!

My boyfriend and I loved the Lotus Honolulu! I had booked the Lotus through the Southwest Airlines website. The price was decent (for Hawaii) and the location was near Waikiki Beach, but a little ways away in a quieter area called Diamond Head. Also, I received 16,000 Southwest Rapids Rewards miles for our stay! Miles are always a great bonus. The hotel is situated near a large park. It is not right on the beach, but the beach is literally a two minute walk, on the other side of the hotel next door. We never had any difficulty finding a parking spot. The front desk staff were exceptional! Everyone we interacted with were very friendly, helpful, and upbeat. They offered lots of suggestions about places to eat in the area. Our favorite restaurant, by the way, was the Barefoot Beach Cafe, only a 7 - 10 minute walk from the Lotus. It had been recommended by another Yelper who had "eaten all her meals there." We ended up eating 90% of our meals there because the food was so good and the prices were reasonable. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it was quite high end, so we did not give it a try. There is also a well-stocked convenience store at the hotel next door, in case you need water, snacks, toiletries, etc. Our room was very spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The room seemed to be soundproof. We could not hear our neighbors on either side of us. The bed was comfortable and there was a large TV in the room. The toiletries were "Lather", which is a great brand. The balcony offered a view of Diamond Head and a partial view of the ocean. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and bird-watching at dusk. There is an amenities fee, which covers parking, bike rental, beach chair rental, and yoga classes. I did not know about the yoga classes until I checked out the Lotus website. I was thrilled to receive a free private yoga session on Saturday in the park. It was really an awesome experience. They even provided a yoga mat! Just make sure you sign up with the front desk ahead of time. The only bummer was the lack of places to charge our phones in the room. Otherwise, we had a wonderful visit and would stay at the Lotus again.

Great hotel, super friendly staff. It was nice to be away from the touristy Waikiki strip. Most people around hotel are locals, except the hotel guests of course. Met some nice locals who chatted with us about the area and the resident monk seals. Grab your camera! Only a 5 minute walk to the Waikiki restaurants and shopping (Kalakaua Ave). Upon arriving, James helped us with our bags and helped us pick a nice parking spot for our rental car (free parking). Plenty of parking under the hotel structure, right in front of the main hotel doors. Rhian checked us in and even helped take pictures of us near the fountain (she saw that we were struggling with selfies, haha). We saw James and Rhian most of our trip, and they were both super friendly and helpful. Our room on the 12th floor was fantastic. Views of both Diamond Head and the Ocean. We sat on that balcony many times, sipping coffee and eating snacks. It was so relaxing. We went snorkeling off the beach just next to the Outrigger Canoe Club (it's a public beach). Super short walk from hotel. Grab towels at front desk. Water was clear and warm. Saw 3 turtles and a bunch of fish. There's an outdoor shower next to hotel to rinse off sand. We loved the TBD Bar + Lounge...and the 2 free glasses of wine during the 5pm-6:30pm social for hotel guests. We ordered food and cocktails too, which were delicious. Bartender, Ostein, is a master at making pretty, delicious drinks. We also saw James, doing double duty as a server. Awesome! Julie, the hotel manager, was there greeting guests. She is so nice. Thanks for a great trip, Lotus! See you all next time.

First, let's talk about customer service. The hotel staff know exactly what it means and they ALL make you feel like the Aloha is real. The room was excellent, and the cleaning staff had our room sparkling every day. They work so hard! They gifted me a bottle of wine for my birthday, wished me a good morning every morning, and always a welcome back in the eves. The location is far enough from the main strip to not be in the thick of the drag racer boys but close enough that we walked to the Barefoot cafe, onto Waikiki, and ventured to Diamond head on another day. We will be back and hope the Lotus keeps things exactly the same.

This room is not fancy but very beautiful and room. Lanai was clean and pretty roomy. Love the view and the room amenities were perfect! Thank you Zee and Christieann who were very welcoming and pleasant. Zee made checking in easy. Christieann made my morning with her very pleasant, friendly, full of Aloha greeting. Much Mahalo to Lotus Honolulu, Zee and Christieann! If y'all want a friendly beautiful right on the beach hotel...this is it!

My mom and I stayed 2 nights here. It's a great location, outside of the hustle of downtown Waikiki. We booked a high floor room, which I definitely recommend. There were a number of hiccups I wasn't thrilled about. I'm giving it 4 stars for the location, the value, and (most of) the staff. LOVED - Location near to Diamond Head w/ gorgeous sunrise views - Lanai overlooking both Diamond Head and views of the ocean - Close access to Kaimana Resort next door for Hau Tree and their cafe and larger beach - The bathrooms are large, and the showers have a little seat you can sit while you soak your feet. - They offer you free beach towers and beach chairs (that's what the facility fee covers). - Free newspapers in the lobby and filtered water dispenser - Free wine hour in the afternoons DIDN'T LOVE - The staff are young and well-meaning but inexperienced and not very professional. The front desk person (I won't write her name here) was very "by the book" robotic and not warm or helpful. I had booked a room w/2 beds so I wasn't sharing a bed with my mother, but they didn't have that in their system so we had to get a roller bed for one night. She didn't offer any discount or even to move us into a proper room the next night; I had to request it explicitly. She then found us a great room next door for the following night with two beds. I'm glad she agreed to a solution to the problem their system created, but I'm not happy that I had be the one to solve it. She wasn't apologetic about it, either. - Their system is so confused, I discovered on my receipt that they billed my room to someone else's credit card. I called back to correct it and am still waiting for a return call from their manager 5 days later. I guess someone else is just going to be paying for my room and they don't really care? Cool cool. PRO-TIP ABOUT PARKING I had read the Tripadvisor reviews about the new valet-only parking policy of $40/night(!). Luckily, there is ample free street parking right across the street on Kalakua Ave on the park side -- cars start to empty out after dark after sports practices end. Parking meters start at 10am, BUT there is a spot WITHOUT A METER which I was able to park at both nights and leave for half the day without paying a dime. I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to stay here, but next time I'd probably check out Kaimana next door instead.

This is an edited version of the original as I said I would make note if Lotus decided to do the right thing and honor our original reservation agreement. I would like to thank the general manager Ms. Arigo for responding to my previous review and providing contact information. Also thank you to Ms. Yamashita for taking the time to exchange several emails in order to settle this dispute. The original post is below and I sincerely hope they took my suggestions to avoid this issue in the near future. Our stay was enjoyable, the staff was very friendly and their restaurant Arden was a delight. Christieann gave us great recommendations where to go for local dining and sightseeing. The employees here really do deserve 5 stars but I averaged my rating to a 4 because I would only give our room 3 stars. There were issues with the bed, a buckling floor and peeling wall paper at the seams. It was not so bad though that it was going to ruin our 1st visit to the islands. The biggest complaint I had is when we checked in and we were blind sided by a policy change regarding parking. Three months in advance I paid for our reservations (except for resort fees). At that time the parking policy was self park or pay for valet. Somewhere in the next three months management decided to make it only valet and charge $40 a day. I knew I had to pay a resort fee of $273.68 at check in, they charged me $608.72. Its important to note if I left that fees apply for cancellations within 72 hours and now we would need to find another place to stay too. Sure companies have policy changes all the time, but they chose not to inform registered guest of the change until they checked in. This way you are not given the option to shop around again and cancel should you so choose to do so before you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. The new policy should have been only applied to new reservations made after said changes took effect where the new fees would have been included in your quoted room rate. During our stay they also opened a gym which was adding another $10 to the daily amenities fee. Between the two guest were getting hit with an additional $50 a day at check in .

The hospitality & customer service training is probably the strongest I've seen on this island & possibly all of Hawaii. When combined with the picturesque location, it's clear to see why this hotel would have won multiple travel awards over the years. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart significantly after check-in for me: I booked through a third party so this may just be the least-effort room appointed for those integrations, or the property management is largely in decline. YMMV. Our bathroom had the most black mold I've seen during these last few weeks in Hawaii. Not just in poorly-lit corners of the shower, but also in the dirty grout lines (walls & floors), in-between the wallpaper, & on the walls. The shower is very small (4"x4"?) so it's puzzling on how the cleaning standards can be so low, in & out. The room was generally not very-well maintained: cracks in the ceiling-paint, corrosion on the fire sprinklers (!), peeling baseboards & wallpaper, dead bugs INSIDE the thermostat & bathroom light fixtures... I originally planned to extend my stay & try a larger room, but upkeep + other issues (restaurant, smoking guests, noise), dissuaded me from doing that. Very disappointing & would not recommend (especially room 923).

My wife and I stayed here for six days during our honeymoon. The hotel has views of the ocean on one side and Diamond Head in the distance on the other side plus a local park across the street. It's located close to Waikiki that you could walk or bike there, but it's further away from the touristy areas which made the area nice and calm. It's a quick walk to the beach behind the hotel. We went there almost every day. As far as amenities, the hotel probably doesn't offer as much as other pricier hotels. There's no spa like some hotels. They do have a nice restaurant called TBD on the 2nd floor which we didn't try out. However, the restaurant is only open for dinner and open just Wednesday - Sunday. The front desk offers free beach towels, beach chairs, and bikes, all that can be rented on first come, first serve basis. The lobby has some nice seating areas but it can get warm during the day. There's also a separate bike rental stand down the road that has plentiful bikes. The room in itself was not terrible but it had its flaws. The wood floors and furniture are nice and the balcony view is beautiful. The room had a microwave, flat screen TV, and mini fridge, too. The bathroom was somewhat small and the shower has an odd tiny bathtub that you can't really sit in comfortably. We ran the AC very cold because it took forever to cool the room, which was especially annoying after being out in the sun during the day. The bedsheets were run of the mill and not very breathable. I learned to sleep above most of the covers to avoid getting hot. Also, the flooring beneath the bed would creak quite loudly when getting on or off the bed. Other than that, the room was fine. Service at the hotel was great. We were always greeted with a smile and the staff would provide helpful information about local sites, shops, and restaurants to visit. We checked out of the hotel but our flight wasn't until the evening and the front desk allowed us to keep our bags there until we could leave and also gave me a beach towel to shower off using their outdoor shower after a trip down to Waikiki. It was much appreciated and I was glad I didn't smell like sweat and ocean on the trip back home. Overall, the room had its flaws but the service and location here were great

Angelica at the front desk was a sweetheart we had to have our house fumigated so we booked a two night stay at the lotus and Angelica gave us a beautiful room with a lanai that was cleancomfortable we had ocean view ‍also could see diamond head Angelica made our state quite pleasant. It exceeded our expectations. PS all staff members were lovely. Even the person who cleaned our space and brought us clean towels and extra espresso pods~much aloha what a great place to staycation. It's close enough to everything in Waikiki. We also walked into Waikiki to have dinner. Excellent spot very spacious rooms. Bathrooms were beautiful and clean. A couple perks were free parking pass self park, which was very convenient Mahalo Lotis.

SUCH a pleasant experience staying here! The views are phenomenal (we had a partial ocean view), you can get a great view of diamond head and see the ocean very clearly. It's also located away from the crowds in Waikiki but at the same time super walkable to any restaurants and Waikiki. We took advantage of the free bike rentals and biked on the diamond head bike trail. But the best thing about the hotel is the NICEST staff I've ever met. They are so accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Christi Ann especially went above and beyond to make our experience great and she truly made us feel welcomed to the island. The other guys that work there are so chill and nice too. I can't thank you guys enough!! Would definitely come back to stay again.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. One of the important standards I look for in a hotel stay, is a focus on supporting locals. For me, if there's a Starbucks in the lobby, then I'm already disappointed. This hotel has one of my favorite local chain cafes, Honolulu Coffee Company. The only local café that has consistently made perfect crema foe decades. Starbucks baristas are not trained for this. The hotel also has restaurants with lots of local flavor. The sushi buffet is amazing but difficult to get a reservation on the weekends. 100 Sails also has a buffet though ordering ala cart seemed like the best choice for us. However, on my most recent trip, I decided to try the Hyatt Regency, thinking the lounge access and more resort-style atmosphere might be a better fit for my elderly parents. We booked three rooms for our family, and I can confidently say that this stay completely changed my perspective and that is largely thanks to Grace at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Grace went above and beyond to make sure our check-in experience was seamless and welcoming. Traveling with elderly parents can sometimes be challenging, but she handled everything with such patience, warmth, and genuine care. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, thoughtfully ensuring that our rooms were convenient and comfortable for everyone in our group. What truly stood out was her ability to make us feel valued not just as guests, but as people. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and it was clear she takes great pride in creating a positive experience for those she helps. She anticipated needs we hadn't even expressed and handled every detail with ease and grace. Because of her exceptional service, what was meant to be a one time stay at the Hyatt Regency has completely changed my preference moving forward. Grace's hospitality exceeded all expectations and made our trip that much more memorable. It's rare to encounter someone who leaves such a lasting impression, but Grace absolutely did. She is a true asset to the Hyatt Regency, and I sincerely hope she receives the recognition she deserves. I will definitely be returning and recommending this property to others because of her.

Unfortunately, the first…read moretwo days of our trip were heavily impacted by severe weather--it was raining cats and dogs and apparently the worst storm in decades. During that time, the property experienced a loss of power and water, and the elevators were not working, which made things quite challenging. That said, once the weather cleared, we were able to appreciate what the hotel had to offer. We had booked two adjoining oceanfront rooms, and the view was beautiful when the skies opened up. Waking up to the ocean right outside our window made it all worthwhile. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk, maintenance team, and all the staff members we interacted with were all very friendly and really helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay. The location is def a huge plus, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it super convenient. The pool is a bit small and tends to get crowded, but it was heated, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the SWIM bar and restaurant. The food and drinks there were surprisingly good but they have a new menu so I was disappointed I didn't get to try some of the items I saw on the Yelp reviews . Overall, the service, location, and beautiful oceanfront views made our stay very enjoyable.

I love that it is in the heart of Waikiki, very walkable to shopping and nightlife should you want to leave the grounds of the resort. The nightly local music with hula under the sky is magical. Reservations for dinner, or grab a first come first serve cocktail table at 5 to watch the sunset! There is also nightly jazz in the bar. La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

Great location, very accessible to stores and the beach, and also secluded in a sense you're not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. We came as a family of three. Not only did they gave us a warm welcome, but they provided plenty of accommodations for our baby. A baby robe which was the cutest, but also a diaper genie baby bath tub and toiletries. We were so impressed! The room views were amazing and our room was upgraded which was a super plus! Breakfast was amazing! Our favorites were their mochi pancakes. They did have construction during our stay, but nothing to really get in our way. The service and accommodation were amazing! Thank you for our great stay Ka La'i! See you hopefully soon!

The service is warm and genuinely friendly. One area that still needs improvement is the elevator--it could be much quieter, and the system would benefit from modernization, particularly allowing floor selection at the entrance. Renovations are still ongoing, so access to the pool is limited. That said, the pool itself is small. If a large or resort-style pool is a priority, this may not be the best choice, and you may want to look elsewhere. What I truly love about this place is the "calm." She last visited 5 years ago with some girlfriends and always spoke highly of the property and hotel. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for our 9 day stay. Immediately I noticed that every employee I contacted went above and beyond to greet me and make sure if I needed help they would handle my situation. Staff here from valet, pool staff, housekeeping, bell desk, hotel check in, and even landscaping are well trained and operating on a higher than 90% of hotels out there. This level of service continued from our first to last day folks. Wendy our housekeeper was awesome and remember to tip appropriately! I want to talk about a common complaint I see in the reviews. Cost. I hate to slap you in the face with this but prices aren't what they used to be. Yes, this is a very expensive property. For us, it was worth the splurge that maybe will only be done every 5 years, but there's a reason for the high price. This hotel is roughly 2,500 miles away from the continental US and in my opinion one of the best ocean front properties in the world and you have to pay for that. If you are going to complain about cost then please stay home. Everything on an island that isn't naturally there has to be shipped there. So cost is obviously higher. I was last in Waikiki in 1995 as a child. I remember it then and seeing it again now was amazing. The food, city, and the ability to rent a car and leave the city in a flash is something unique in this paradise. The Sheraton adults only pool and the views that the ocean side hotel rooms provide are unparalleled. The kids pool is also above and beyond for the under 16-year-old age group. God speed Sheraton Waikīkī, I will return.
