Wow. This was a beautiful and luxurious retreat from home for us. The service from Saori, Helena, and everyone we encountered was top tier. They clearly realize that patrons are spending good money for the finer things and they provide service on that level. Our room was ocean view with kitchen and balcony. We had the best time with our bathroom shower that sprayed onto full soaking tub in a wet area. Mane! I can't even go into it. The pool is not the largest but great for a dip and sip on your Hawaiian Mai Tai. The servers at the pool were stellar, bringing little treats and snacks while we enjoyed the shade from the sun. The newly opened restaurant, Kina, was tasty and beautiful. The open air and views were spectacular. Walking the 3 minutes to beach was easy and we appreciated the beach supplies given by the concierge. Breakfast was a feast of all royalty. We had made to order omelettes, French toast, fruit, yogurt, breakfast potatoes, spinach, meats, breads, and my favorite item, the açaí bowl. We definitely will return and enjoy this beautiful, luxurious resort again. Mahalo.

As a Hilton regular, I chose Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach because I wanted something a little quieter than the nearby Hilton Hawaiian Village, and in many ways it delivered. The room was spectacular, with an apartment-style layout that included a small kitchen, comfortable living area, spacious bathroom, and a large balcony with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. It was the kind of room you could happily spend all day in. Unfortunately, my stay happened to coincide with the lobby renovation, and I don't feel the impact of the construction was fully communicated before I arrived. Closed elevators led to long waits, navigating multiple flights of stairs became part of the daily routine, and the already small pool and only operating restaurant felt even more crowded. After eight nights, the limited, unchanging restaurant menu also became repetitive. To make matters worse, a partially functioning showerhead in my room was never addressed despite being reported. None of these issues ruined the trip because, after all, you're still in paradise, but when you're paying premium rates, it's reasonable to expect a more polished experience. I would consider staying here again because the accommodations themselves were outstanding, but only after confirming the construction is complete and the hotel is operating at full capacity.

Beautiful luxury hotel right in the heart of Waikiki! We stood one night due to our flight being delayed. But man do I wish I would've chose this resort instead of the one we stood at in Ko'Olina. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted with cold towels and a refreshing beverage. We were then escorted to our GORGEOUS one bedroom Oceanview suite, that we were upgraded to due to my Hilton status. Nice perk! We were then sent up a bottle of champagne since we were in Hawaii to celebrate our anniversary. Exemplary service! As far as amenities, the infinity pool was relaxing and breathtaking with comfortable pool chairs. The in-room dining service was delectable and one of our best meals we had in Hawaii. Get the poke, you won't be disappointed. Overall an outstanding stay. If you want luxury and first class service, look no where else. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ka La'i. I dream of you daily. Until we meet again....

My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikiki Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts. At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. However, after I started unloading luggage, they promptly assisted us. We returned at 17:00, following our 16:00 check-in, and received consistent service from the bell desk staff. The check-in gentleman was very helpful and genuine in his approach. The overall experience felt similar to what we are accustomed to in Japan. After checking in, we had dinner and discussed Ka Lai, concluding that we would like to return every

We had a fabulous one night stay at Ka La'i! We came over from our home on Kaua'i for an event the next day. We were very fortunate to get an early check in and a room upgrade! Fabulous room with an ocean view, overlooking Waikiki with diamond head in the distance! Epic Waikiki! Then, we relaxed at the pool, had dinner at Wai'olu Ocean! Great dinner! Lovely evening and view looking out to the northwest. Then, a great buffet breakfast at the restaurant the following morning. So nice. Located just one hotel back from the beach. Recommended! We will be back when we have another event in Waikiki!! PS The renovation in process was not an issue for us at all!

Oh wow! Serious luxury and amazing service. This hotel has the best customer service I've ever experienced. From front desk, valet to pool staff. We stayed in the one bedroom suite for a family staycation. They think of everything! The room is fully stocked, toiletries, kitchen items, coffee maker, ice machine, laundry detergent, dish soap, you don't need to bring anything. Location is so great, so much shopping and restaurants and the beach all within 5 minute walking. I love staying here, will definitely be back!

Nice hotel overall! Great size kitchen, dining and living room. The bathroom is much bigger than the room. Overall great service but the pool is small and it's currently under construction. So only 1-2 elevator working. No access to the gym (need to use one at a different hotel). Need to use the stairs to access the pool and restaurant. I recommend waiting till renovations are fully done before staying at this hotel. Not getting full experience

My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikīkī Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts . At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. This is a winner! Even with the ongoing construction, Ka La'i LXR scores points for their upscale feel and accommodating Ahola spirit. The hotel is currently under construction (7/2025), and it is now under the Hilton umbrella (formally Trump). Right now there's only one restaurant. Although it is smaller and a block off the beach, it is lovely and has some beautiful rooms. I felt and appreciated the Asian influence. Our suite was equipped with a kitchen with small fridge (not mini bar), cooktop, sink, coffee maker and hot tea kettle. Very nice pots and kitchenware provided (yes, even chopsticks). The view is gorgeous and the bathroom was a bidet toilet with warmer, an open concept shower, and soaking tub. It's very spacious in there and good to move about while bathing a few kids at a time. It was just Hubby and I, for the last leg of our anniversary trip, and we loved it. Concierge has beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, although they should offer more quality such as Tommy Bahama, which can withstand the Waikiki beach breezes. Staff is so friendly and helpful, especially bellman and concierge. One hiccup, we were told we had breakfast included. After eating at the restaurant twice, we found out it was only a $50 daily credit. But they were able to adjust and make things right. We used the hot tub/pool, which is nice and stays open late. We didn't use the spa, but i know that it's small and for treatments only (no wet lounge). It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it to have a beautiful, clean, and model room in a great little hotel! I'd like to revisit one day when renos are done.

Booked this hotel on a whim since it had a great deal with points, and we had never stayed here before. We ended up booking two rooms for our family and from start to finish had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing. Bret at the front desk was especially kind and even offered us an upgrade to a suite, which was such a nice surprise. We originally booked two rooms using points, which probably says a lot about how often we stay with Hilton. We travel to Honolulu multiple times a year to visit our daughter who lives there full time, and over the years we've stayed at two different condos in Hilton Village as well as several standard Hilton rooms in Honolulu. This property was by far our favorite out of all of them. The location was perfect. You're right in the main strip of Waikiki, so getting in and out was easy, and we were close to everything. I've always felt like Hilton Village is a little farther from the main strip, so this location made a big difference for us. They were doing some construction during our stay, but it really wasn't an issue since we were mostly in and out of the hotel enjoying the island. Also room service was outstanding! Food always arrived quick and hot. We all loved the food. We will definitely be coming back to stay here on our next visit. Pictures are from room 2315 (23rd floor)

We didn't know what to expect when we drove up to the hotel. Never heard of it, just knew it was a Hilton and we could use our points. The property is FANTASTIC. It's very clean, tucked away from the touristy traffic of Waikīkī and has a spa like vibe. The rooms are great with a small lanai that you can enjoy HH outside of your room. The bathroom is all marble and the tub is super deep. The Infinity pool and hot tub is open till 10pm. Valet only. The most important mention of staying here is THE STAFF! They are friendly, kind, professional and always willing to help. We will ABSOLUTELY STAY HERE AGAIN. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My cousin asked me to join him on a short visit to Oahu and was able to get a room here with his Amex points. The deal was book 3 nights and get a 4th for free, averaging the cost to about $350/night. Parking is valet only and $40/night. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view with a king bed and a pull out couch. I slept on the couch bed and was surprised by how comfortable it was. It made noise when I moved but I passed out each night. The bed is definitely much more comfortable and he slept well too. The bathroom has a huge tub (which I took advantage of) and is deep and wide. The shower is next to it and it has nice pressure. We had dual sinks and a bidet as well as a kitchen. Our view was relaxing and we could see the water through a few buildings. We took a dip in the pool, which is on the smaller side with the jacuzzi in the middle. Breakfast was included in our deal and it had fresh fruit and veggies, some Japanese options as well as oatmeal, an omelet bar, varying egg benedicts, sausage, bacon French toast or waffles, and a variety of breads/pastries. We loved the Guava juice as it wasn't too thick or sweet. The gym was a decent size with lots of cardio equipment and options for free weights as well as machines. Bottled water and fruit were available as well as rolled damp towels to cool off after and standard workout towels. The library was across the way with many books in Japanese but is a nice place to relax and read if you want to get some quiet time. Beach towels are available near the building entrance and they provide seemingly unlimited reusable bags to carry them and other things as well. We really appreciated this service as we could drop off the Sandy towels before we went into the hotel and the bags were exceedingly helpful for all the things we purchased. The staff is fantastic. They offered to help at every turn. Everyone was very friendly and smiled a lot. We felt very welcome wherever we were in the establishment. It is a block away from the water and conveniently located to the be close enough to walk to the main area for shopping and dining options. We would definitely stay again.

The Banyan Wing is the original Victorian-era building which is listed on National Historic Registry and houses the main lobby and restaurant. The number of guests and visitor who circulate through this property daily is incredible. Including the Tower and Surfrider Wings, it has 791 rooms. Our Tower room had a great covered patio with incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the surfers, catamarans, and enjoying the island breeze. Our balcony was spectacular :o Our room was updated and very comfortable. I understand the owners completed a full renovation of all rooms in 2026. The beach bar is one of the best in the world. Cold cocktails, beer and wine. Good service. Great views! The drawbacks.... The pool is small and very crowded, especially for 791 rooms. With that said everyone in the pool was smiling and having fun. The beach is also pretty small for such a massive hotel. At high tide the hotel only has about 30 feet of beachfront and it is a public beach so it is crowded Rio style. For us this was not a drawback as we love Waikiki, the birthplace of Hawaiian surfing, and spend most of our time in the surf. Hawaii and Waikiki is one of the few places that completely lives us to the hype year after year and generation after generation. We can't wait to return. Aloha & Mahalo

So much history as shown throughout the resort especially on the second floor, but also the open Victorian architecture which presents a relaxing atmosphere. Our friends thought we were "rich" for being able to stay here but I don't recall the prices being too different than other hotels in the area. We also got a great offering through the American Express card. We arrived on island early afternoon and attempted to stay up as late as possible. However, we were given a room on the second floor of the historic side of the hotel where they host events on the patio area outside our room. While we were trying to sleep at 8-9pm, a festive wedding was going on with their DJ blasting music, people dancing, yelling, the DJ trying to motivate the audience, etc. It was not a fun night as my wife complained to the hotel staff about the noise interfering with our ability to sleep. It's not the fact the wedding was occuring, but rather the fact the hotel staff didn't let us know they were putting us next to the hotel night club of sorts. Hawaii is typically laid back and quiet, which this was not. The hotel staff sympathisized and mentioned the wedding would be finished by 10pm which it was, and tried to make things better. On day 3 around 4am, the hotel fire alarm sounded and advised everyone to vacate the building. When we vacated, we learned it was a false alarm. This was our last day at the Moana Surfrider which we assumed was a sign the resort wasn't meant to be a relaxing experience for us. The hotel has activities associated with the resort fee such as yoga, that we registered for. It was my first time doing yoga despite mention by my wife over the years to do it. I figured it would be a pleasant surprise for her if I signed us up, and it was a great class out on the same patio area as the wedding. I won't say it was fun for me, but it was an experience that we both enjoyed. The room itself was small which I assume is because it was part of the historic side of the hotel. There wasn't a balcony which we've come to appreciate especially in Hawaii to be able to go outside, view the water, and smell the air. Instead there was a window which we tried to orient ourselves in to get a picture of us with our welcome leis and Waikiki Beach in the background. Very challenging to appreciate a window as well as find space in the room to lay out two large suitcases without having to relocate furniture. The shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor as the cracks in the glass were not sealed so there was a constant wet towel on the floor. The bathroom in general didn't seem very modern considering the hotel had recently undergone years of modernization. Housekeeping was good and treated us well with towels and drinking water. I believe the Tower rooms of the hotel might be more modern and larger, as well as away from the event area of the hotel. I think we would look at other options in the future as we also spent a few days each during this trip at the Sheraton and The Royal Hawaiian which provided a much different experience in comparison.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

I love that it is in the heart of Waikiki, very walkable to shopping and nightlife should you want to leave the grounds of the resort. The nightly local music with hula under the sky is magical. Reservations for dinner, or grab a first come first serve cocktail table at 5 to watch the sunset! There is also nightly jazz in the bar. La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

Blue Note has a great jazz club, chill, intimate vibe that is great for a night out if you have a favorite artist you want to see perform. This is my 2nd time staying in Waikiki. We wanted a beach front hotel so we decided on Outrigger…read moreReef for a full week. To start off, I'd give the resort a solid 4/5, no more, no less. The location? It's great because it is literally beach front; however, it is on the southern most edge part of that beach area. This means that the beach right outside is jam packed with tourists coming and going and you would have to walk a decent ways up the beach to find a spot. Regardless, a beach front is a beach front so it's nice to get down there quick and enjoy the beach. The hotel is in a great spot in Waikiki because there are tons and tons of shopping stores and food areas within a 15 minute walk so you never really have to drive out. Monkey Pod restaurant down below has great reviews and is delicious, but I personally think their menu is quite small. They also have a pool side bar/cafe that serves drinks, snacks, and meals and is a secondary pool-side restaurant. They play music down there every night. It's very calm, quaint, and peaceful to enjoy a night in the hotel. Unfortunately, the prices of their drinks are ridiculously overpriced. $17 for a Mai Thai not including tip. Insane. The room? I would say pretty average for any decent hotel. It was clean, the bed was good, the pillows were nice and big. The balcony is small, but can sit two people to enjoy the outside. The down side is the rooms of the two towers of the hotel face each other. So you don't get a beach front view unless you pay the big extra for those rooms. My biggest gripe about the room was the shower. The whole 7 days the water would change from warm, hot, very hot, rinse and repeat every few seconds. The price? Very expensive, but that's the price you pay for a beach front hotel PLUS it being on Waikiki beach. There's probably not big deals/sales unless you buy it through Costco Travel which is what I did which saves you probably a couple hundred at the very least. Valet is automatically included which is another 60 per night (not including whatever few bucks you tip them whenever you go out) so this would easily rack up your bill. I'd say the closest free parking is at least a 20 minute walk one way. Despite my rating the hotel a 4/5, would I recommend this spot? It depends. If you are a newcomer to Oahu and want to experience the casual, tourist experience of Oahu, want that beach front hotel, and have the cash, I would recommend this. If you are not a newcomer, there are many other hotels that will suit many other tastes. And honestly, staying at any other hotel outside of Waikiki is probably best if you want to really save on money and see better beaches.
