My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikiki Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts. At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. However, after I started unloading luggage, they promptly assisted us. We returned at 17:00, following our 16:00 check-in, and received consistent service from the bell desk staff. The check-in gentleman was very helpful and genuine in his approach. The overall experience felt similar to what we are accustomed to in Japan. After checking in, we had dinner and discussed Ka Lai, concluding that we would like to return every

We had a fabulous one night stay at Ka La'i! We came over from our home on Kaua'i for an event the next day. We were very fortunate to get an early check in and a room upgrade! Fabulous room with an ocean view, overlooking Waikiki with diamond head in the distance! Epic Waikiki! Then, we relaxed at the pool, had dinner at Wai'olu Ocean! Great dinner! Lovely evening and view looking out to the northwest. Then, a great buffet breakfast at the restaurant the following morning. So nice. Located just one hotel back from the beach. Recommended! We will be back when we have another event in Waikiki!! PS The renovation in process was not an issue for us at all!

Oh wow! Serious luxury and amazing service. This hotel has the best customer service I've ever experienced. From front desk, valet to pool staff. We stayed in the one bedroom suite for a family staycation. They think of everything! The room is fully stocked, toiletries, kitchen items, coffee maker, ice machine, laundry detergent, dish soap, you don't need to bring anything. Location is so great, so much shopping and restaurants and the beach all within 5 minute walking. I love staying here, will definitely be back!

Nice hotel overall! Great size kitchen, dining and living room. The bathroom is much bigger than the room. Overall great service but the pool is small and it's currently under construction. So only 1-2 elevator working. No access to the gym (need to use one at a different hotel). Need to use the stairs to access the pool and restaurant. I recommend waiting till renovations are fully done before staying at this hotel. Not getting full experience

This is a winner! Even with the ongoing construction, Ka La'i LXR scores points for their upscale feel and accommodating Ahola spirit. The hotel is currently under construction (7/2025), and it is now under the Hilton umbrella (formally Trump). Right now there's only one restaurant. Although it is smaller and a block off the beach, it is lovely and has some beautiful rooms. I felt and appreciated the Asian influence. Our suite was equipped with a kitchen with small fridge (not mini bar), cooktop, sink, coffee maker and hot tea kettle. Very nice pots and kitchenware provided (yes, even chopsticks). The view is gorgeous and the bathroom was a bidet toilet with warmer, an open concept shower, and soaking tub. It's very spacious in there and good to move about while bathing a few kids at a time. It was just Hubby and I, for the last leg of our anniversary trip, and we loved it. Concierge has beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, although they should offer more quality such as Tommy Bahama, which can withstand the Waikiki beach breezes. Staff is so friendly and helpful, especially bellman and concierge. One hiccup, we were told we had breakfast included. After eating at the restaurant twice, we found out it was only a $50 daily credit. But they were able to adjust and make things right. We used the hot tub/pool, which is nice and stays open late. We didn't use the spa, but i know that it's small and for treatments only (no wet lounge). It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it to have a beautiful, clean, and model room in a great little hotel! I'd like to revisit one day when renos are done.

Booked this hotel on a whim since it had a great deal with points, and we had never stayed here before. We ended up booking two rooms for our family and from start to finish had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing. Bret at the front desk was especially kind and even offered us an upgrade to a suite, which was such a nice surprise. We originally booked two rooms using points, which probably says a lot about how often we stay with Hilton. We travel to Honolulu multiple times a year to visit our daughter who lives there full time, and over the years we've stayed at two different condos in Hilton Village as well as several standard Hilton rooms in Honolulu. This property was by far our favorite out of all of them. The location was perfect. You're right in the main strip of Waikiki, so getting in and out was easy, and we were close to everything. I've always felt like Hilton Village is a little farther from the main strip, so this location made a big difference for us. They were doing some construction during our stay, but it really wasn't an issue since we were mostly in and out of the hotel enjoying the island. Also room service was outstanding! Food always arrived quick and hot. We all loved the food. We will definitely be coming back to stay here on our next visit. Pictures are from room 2315 (23rd floor)

We didn't know what to expect when we drove up to the hotel. Never heard of it, just knew it was a Hilton and we could use our points. The property is FANTASTIC. It's very clean, tucked away from the touristy traffic of Waikīkī and has a spa like vibe. The rooms are great with a small lanai that you can enjoy HH outside of your room. The bathroom is all marble and the tub is super deep. The Infinity pool and hot tub is open till 10pm. Valet only. The most important mention of staying here is THE STAFF! They are friendly, kind, professional and always willing to help. We will ABSOLUTELY STAY HERE AGAIN. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Overall 5 stars: Hands down the best luxury pet friendly hotel in Waikiki! From the exceptional service to the personalized details that made my stay an unforgettable one. Service 5 stars: Upon arriving to the valet, we were met with warm greetings and had our bags unloaded by the guest service team. We were then escorted to the elevators that took us to the front desk. We were greeted with refreshing cucumber mint water and pineapple and star fruit jelly candy. Once we were checked in, our bags were on the same elevator going to our room. No waiting around for our luggage. Upon entering our room we discovered a special and personalized experience. There was a "Happy Birthday" Brownie in the refrigerator and plushy stingray for the little ones. There was also a dog bed and dog bowls already in the room for our dog. There was also a box of Beach Brittle and souvenir Ka La'i water bottles. Amenities 5 stars: Our room had spectacular floor to ceiling window views of the ocean and the Waikiki coastline. The balcony had glass railings that made it safe for our little dog to go out on. Full kitchen with Wolf appliances and an enormous refrigerator. There was also a Nespresso machine that my wife used daily. The luxurious amenities also included a deep soaking tub with a window that could be opened toward the master bedroom. There was a separate shower that had the best water pressure. All in an Italian marble bathroom. The toilet seats were heated and had a bidet. There was also a washer and dryer in the room which made it convenient. There are many more that there is not enough room to list them all. Location 5 stars: The Ka La'i is right across the street from the beach and the walk is a beautiful and short one passing the US Army Museum. There are many great places to eat and shop within walking distance of the hotel. I would say all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the hotel. If you are staying with your pet, there are grassy areas all around the hotel and a nice park to take a walk in across the street. Cleanliness 5 stars: This is a big one for me. From the Grand Entrance to our guest room, everything was spotless. I can't stand rooms that were not cleaned properly. The cleaning staff were very pleasant and helpful, asking if we needed anything, anytime we passed by them. And they all did so with a smile. This is our favorite hotel to stay at in Waikiki and we will definitely be back there soon. If you want an unforgettable experience in Waikiki you have to stay at the Ka La'i.

My cousin asked me to join him on a short visit to Oahu and was able to get a room here with his Amex points. The deal was book 3 nights and get a 4th for free, averaging the cost to about $350/night. Parking is valet only and $40/night. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view with a king bed and a pull out couch. I slept on the couch bed and was surprised by how comfortable it was. It made noise when I moved but I passed out each night. The bed is definitely much more comfortable and he slept well too. The bathroom has a huge tub (which I took advantage of) and is deep and wide. The shower is next to it and it has nice pressure. We had dual sinks and a bidet as well as a kitchen. Our view was relaxing and we could see the water through a few buildings. We took a dip in the pool, which is on the smaller side with the jacuzzi in the middle. Breakfast was included in our deal and it had fresh fruit and veggies, some Japanese options as well as oatmeal, an omelet bar, varying egg benedicts, sausage, bacon French toast or waffles, and a variety of breads/pastries. We loved the Guava juice as it wasn't too thick or sweet. The gym was a decent size with lots of cardio equipment and options for free weights as well as machines. Bottled water and fruit were available as well as rolled damp towels to cool off after and standard workout towels. The library was across the way with many books in Japanese but is a nice place to relax and read if you want to get some quiet time. Beach towels are available near the building entrance and they provide seemingly unlimited reusable bags to carry them and other things as well. We really appreciated this service as we could drop off the Sandy towels before we went into the hotel and the bags were exceedingly helpful for all the things we purchased. The staff is fantastic. They offered to help at every turn. Everyone was very friendly and smiled a lot. We felt very welcome wherever we were in the establishment. It is a block away from the water and conveniently located to the be close enough to walk to the main area for shopping and dining options. We would definitely stay again.

Had a good stay here through Costco travel. The hotel suites are big enough for 4 adults or a large family. It's not located on the beach but it's on the side of Waikiki closer to ala moana and is only 1 block from the beach. There's free water and the suites have laundry machines in them so they are very convenient. Overall super luxury and modern for a place on waikiki. It doesn't seem to be super busy either compared to the other waikiki hotels. Super close to eggs n things and the Royal Hawaiin center. The restaurant was just ok. I would stay here again!

Our families occupied two suites (former condos?). Both with wonderful ocean views. Full kitchen and washer/dryer. Location is superb - a short walk to Ft. DeRussy beach and to the heart of Waikiki (but not mired in the congestion). Warm and responsive service. Definitely consider returning for another family vacation.

Hotel offers different types of pillows in the room and spare blanket in armoire. Also in the armoire is hangers, an ironing board and steaming iron, which came in handy for those wrinkled linen shirts mashed in my suitcase. The Bathroom. - one sink with a little counter top space but sufficient. The toilet was also bidet in the master bath. The shower pressure on 21st is ok but low, but it did the job. The Ac in room was awesome! It gets super cold, if you need it, quickly. It was nice for those hot humid days of walking in Waikiki. It had an In-room mini fridge and bar sink with 4 real drinking glasses, which I like. Hated there was no freezer in the mini fridge But the bell hop station offers to freeze ice packs, or whatever you need, for you. We had 3 sliding doors with west views and moderate views of Waikiki beach. The Second bedroom has own bath with also a single sink, toilet and shower- No bidet. The room/bedding/bathrooms were clean with no mold in the showers. The furniture showed a little wear but nothing excessive. The Elevators were fast! The pool, mangers reception and breakfast are all on the 4th Floor (terrace level). Breakfast was typical of Embassy Suites, I like the made to order omelette which makes it much better. Lots of fresh fruit and even some miso soup and other Japanese/Hawaiian offerings. The Staff was awesome and super friendly. I Used valet every day. Great service, fast and practical IMO but hard to swallow the daily fee. The hotel was attacked to the Waikiki beach walk. Island vintage coffee was a regular stop for coffee and sometimes breakfast. Order coffee or food to go online after 8am to save a ton of time standing in line. Hotel was Very close to all ththe shops. Awesome location. Much better location than Hilton Hawaiian village location!!! Our fav restaurant close by the hotel was Kana Pilla and Monkey Pod, which were across the street. Make sure to make Open Table reservations for both way ahead of time. I did mine 2 months out. Housekeeping willing to clean and supply new towels daily however linens are not cleaned but every 5 day, unless you request it, which they are happy to do! Views from 21st floor were awesome and all 21st floor rooms had extensive balconies. 3 sliding doors. Keep in mind Ac doesn't work, yes the fan blows, when the doors are open!! It's too humid at night to sleep with them open so we had them open for select times, mostly am. There's a Washer/dryer laundry room on site, 3rd floor only. It was Very convenient especially packing 4 days of clothes for a 10 day trip so our suitcases weren't stuffed . Use laundry room on sundays/mon or late evenings when people are too busy arriving and leaving. $5.25 to each wash load and I think $4.75 to dry. Washers only wash with cold which I like. Perm press on dryer seemed to dry all our shirts and socks well. We hung our nice Aloha shirts on the hangers in the room and they dried within a day. Washer and dryers take credit cards. Yes they're is a soap machine that also takes credit cards. I didn't use and just bought soap from ABC. ABC stores are EVERYWHERE so don't lug around suntan lotion or waters in your suitcase. Just buY at ABC which is only 20 steps away. FYI ABC doesn't no GIVE out bags for items unless you spend over a certain amount. ANC bags cost like .50 cents. ABC has Awesome poke and alcohol (spirit and beer) choices. Yes single purchase tall beers too. Don't forget the free brief fireworks show in front of the Hilton Hawaii Village on Friday nights only. We saw them set off at 7:45p by the lagoon. It's amazing how many people attend so be prepared for the crowds to and from. Big tip: make open table reservations for all your restaurants months ahead! All places are super busy until about 8:45 pm on most nights. Hope I helped.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. We're not high-maintenance travelers--we simply appreciate the opportunity to spend quality time together, and every stay here creates lasting memories. One of our favorite conveniences is the ABC Stores on the property. They're reasonably priced and have surprisingly good sushi and poke bowls for a quick meal. This summer visit was noticeably busier than our fall stays. The pools were definitely crowded, and the village was packed with tourists. While people say tourism is down, that certainly wasn't our experience--it felt very lively throughout our stay. Instead of driving, we used Lyft to visit the Waikīkī International Market Place, which ended up being much cheaper than paying for parking and was well worth it. During this trip, we stayed in the Kalia Tower and loved our room's view overlooking the ocean, lagoon, harbor, and even the marketplace below. My husband also enjoyed using the fitness center. He mentioned it was busiest in the mornings and mid-afternoons, so evenings seemed like the best time to work out. One of the highlights of our stay was our daily feathered visitor--a pigeon that stopped by to greet us every day, which became a fun little tradition. One of the important standards I look for in a hotel stay, is a focus on supporting locals. For me, if there's a Starbucks in the lobby, then I'm already disappointed. This hotel has one of my favorite local chain cafes, Honolulu Coffee Company. The only local café that has consistently made perfect crema foe decades. Starbucks baristas are not trained for this. The hotel also has restaurants with lots of local flavor. The sushi buffet is amazing but difficult to get a reservation on the weekends. 100 Sails also has a buffet though ordering ala cart seemed like the best choice for us. We booked the Club Premier package, and we felt it was worth it because breakfast at 100 Sails Restaurant on the 3rd floor was excellent every morning. One thing to keep in mind is that parking is not included with your stay and must be paid for separately, which is something to factor into the overall cost. One big concern was the snacks on the 5th floor. We came across moldy bread, which was definitely concerning. I would think the staff would check the food before putting it out, especially considering this is not a cheap hotel. I loved that we could grab coffee every morning from Honolulu Coffee without having to leave the hotel. The lines can get long, but the service is fairly quick. The staff, overall, were not very welcoming and often seemed serious. However, on Monday, June 29, there was an older woman who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She really stood out and made us feel appreciated. One other issue was that the body wash in our room was never refilled, so we ended up not having any during our stay. We also requested a later check out and our key cards aren't working. The front desk never mentioned anything about need to change keys cards if we had a later check out and now we're outside our rooms having to go back downstairs and change our key cards. And they were making it complicated because they wanted my drivers license even though it's in the room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful views, great amenities, and delicious breakfast made it a memorable family vacation.

I stayed at this outrigger property 2 nights from March 6, 2026-March 8, 2026…read more When I checked in I was informed since my stay was for 2 nights if I needed to have my room cleaned to let housekeeping know. Once my room became available I dropped off my luggage and then went directly to the beach. When I returned I did notice some areas of concern where the room was not very well cleaned. Instead of calling housekeeping I went directly downstairs to the front desk. Front desk personnel were busy as there were only 2 people assisting the long line of quests. I decided I'll just deal with the room uncleanliness later. Please be advised that I did take pictures. Once I checked out on Sunday, March 8th, I advised the front desk personnel my concerns. The manager Ira listened to my concerns as I showed her my pictures. She immediately apologized and ask that I email the pictures to their corporate office. Which I did once I arrived back to the mainland. In the room there's a finger or toenail clipping on the carpet between the console and couch. Also you can also see that portion of the carpet has not been vacuumed. The clothed bench in front of bed was extremely stained and filthy. So filthy that I covered the bench with a bath towel if I needed to sit down. Also the refrigerator was very dirty. I chose not to put any food items in the fridge because of this. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

However, on my most recent trip, I decided to try the Hyatt Regency, thinking the lounge access and more resort-style atmosphere might be a better fit for my elderly parents. We booked three rooms for our family, and I can confidently say that this stay completely changed my perspective and that is largely thanks to Grace at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, Grace went above and beyond to make sure our check-in experience was seamless and welcoming. Traveling with elderly parents can sometimes be challenging, but she handled everything with such patience, warmth, and genuine care. She was incredibly attentive to our needs, thoughtfully ensuring that our rooms were convenient and comfortable for everyone in our group. What truly stood out was her ability to make us feel valued not just as guests, but as people. Her professionalism was matched by her kindness, and it was clear she takes great pride in creating a positive experience for those she helps. She anticipated needs we hadn't even expressed and handled every detail with ease and grace. Because of her exceptional service, what was meant to be a one time stay at the Hyatt Regency has completely changed my preference moving forward. Grace's hospitality exceeded all expectations and made our trip that much more memorable. It's rare to encounter someone who leaves such a lasting impression, but Grace absolutely did. She is a true asset to the Hyatt Regency, and I sincerely hope she receives the recognition she deserves. I will definitely be returning and recommending this property to others because of her.

Unfortunately, the first…read moretwo days of our trip were heavily impacted by severe weather--it was raining cats and dogs and apparently the worst storm in decades. During that time, the property experienced a loss of power and water, and the elevators were not working, which made things quite challenging. That said, once the weather cleared, we were able to appreciate what the hotel had to offer. We had booked two adjoining oceanfront rooms, and the view was beautiful when the skies opened up. Waking up to the ocean right outside our window made it all worthwhile. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the front desk, maintenance team, and all the staff members we interacted with were all very friendly and really helpful despite the difficult circumstances. Their positive attitude made a big difference in our stay. The location is def a huge plus, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, making it super convenient. The pool is a bit small and tends to get crowded, but it was heated, which was nice, and we really enjoyed the SWIM bar and restaurant. The food and drinks there were surprisingly good but they have a new menu so I was disappointed I didn't get to try some of the items I saw on the Yelp reviews . Overall, the service, location, and beautiful oceanfront views made our stay very enjoyable.

This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

The location? It's great because it is literally beach front; however, it is on the southern most edge part of that beach area. This means that the beach right outside is jam packed with tourists coming and going and you would have to walk a decent ways up the beach to find a spot. Regardless, a beach front is a beach front so it's nice to get down there quick and enjoy the beach. The hotel is in a great spot in Waikiki because there are tons and tons of shopping stores and food areas within a 15 minute walk so you never really have to drive out. Monkey Pod restaurant down below has great reviews and is delicious, but I personally think their menu is quite small. They also have a pool side bar/cafe that serves drinks, snacks, and meals and is a secondary pool-side restaurant. They play music down there every night. It's very calm, quaint, and peaceful to enjoy a night in the hotel. Unfortunately, the prices of their drinks are ridiculously overpriced. $17 for a Mai Thai not including tip. Insane. The room? I would say pretty average for any decent hotel. It was clean, the bed was good, the pillows were nice and big. The balcony is small, but can sit two people to enjoy the outside. The down side is the rooms of the two towers of the hotel face each other. So you don't get a beach front view unless you pay the big extra for those rooms. My biggest gripe about the room was the shower. The whole 7 days the water would change from warm, hot, very hot, rinse and repeat every few seconds. The price? Very expensive, but that's the price you pay for a beach front hotel PLUS it being on Waikiki beach. There's probably not big deals/sales unless you buy it through Costco Travel which is what I did which saves you probably a couple hundred at the very least. Valet is automatically included which is another 60 per night (not including whatever few bucks you tip them whenever you go out) so this would easily rack up your bill. I'd say the closest free parking is at least a 20 minute walk one way. Despite my rating the hotel a 4/5, would I recommend this spot? It depends. If you are a newcomer to Oahu and want to experience the casual, tourist experience of Oahu, want that beach front hotel, and have the cash, I would recommend this. If you are not a newcomer, there are many other hotels that will suit many other tastes. And honestly, staying at any other hotel outside of Waikiki is probably best if you want to really save on money and see better beaches.
