Can to this hotel for lunch. What a great location and retreat. The lobster sandwich is very good , lobster is freshly made. Staff is very friendly knowledgeable about the menu. Clean clean place.

Wow. This was a beautiful and luxurious retreat from home for us. The service from Saori, Helena, and everyone we encountered was top tier. They clearly realize that patrons are spending good money for the finer things and they provide service on that level. Our room was ocean view with kitchen and balcony. We had the best time with our bathroom shower that sprayed onto full soaking tub in a wet area. Mane! I can't even go into it. The pool is not the largest but great for a dip and sip on your Hawaiian Mai Tai. The servers at the pool were stellar, bringing little treats and snacks while we enjoyed the shade from the sun. The newly opened restaurant, Kina, was tasty and beautiful. The open air and views were spectacular. Walking the 3 minutes to beach was easy and we appreciated the beach supplies given by the concierge. Breakfast was a feast of all royalty. We had made to order omelettes, French toast, fruit, yogurt, breakfast potatoes, spinach, meats, breads, and my favorite item, the açaí bowl. We definitely will return and enjoy this beautiful, luxurious resort again. Mahalo.

My sister and I landed early and decided to pre-check in at Waikiki Ka Lai Hotels and Resorts. At the bell desk, the staff were initially uncertain about our status. However, after I started unloading luggage, they promptly assisted us. We returned at 17:00, following our 16:00 check-in, and received consistent service from the bell desk staff. The check-in gentleman was very helpful and genuine in his approach. The overall experience felt similar to what we are accustomed to in Japan. After checking in, we had dinner and discussed Ka Lai, concluding that we would like to return every

As a Hilton regular, I chose Ka Laʻi Waikiki Beach because I wanted something a little quieter than the nearby Hilton Hawaiian Village, and in many ways it delivered. The room was spectacular, with an apartment-style layout that included a small kitchen, comfortable living area, spacious bathroom, and a large balcony with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. It was the kind of room you could happily spend all day in. Unfortunately, my stay happened to coincide with the lobby renovation, and I don't feel the impact of the construction was fully communicated before I arrived. Closed elevators led to long waits, navigating multiple flights of stairs became part of the daily routine, and the already small pool and only operating restaurant felt even more crowded. After eight nights, the limited, unchanging restaurant menu also became repetitive. To make matters worse, a partially functioning showerhead in my room was never addressed despite being reported. None of these issues ruined the trip because, after all, you're still in paradise, but when you're paying premium rates, it's reasonable to expect a more polished experience. I would consider staying here again because the accommodations themselves were outstanding, but only after confirming the construction is complete and the hotel is operating at full capacity.

We had a fabulous one night stay at Ka La'i! We came over from our home on Kaua'i for an event the next day. We were very fortunate to get an early check in and a room upgrade! Fabulous room with an ocean view, overlooking Waikiki with diamond head in the distance! Epic Waikiki! Then, we relaxed at the pool, had dinner at Wai'olu Ocean! Great dinner! Lovely evening and view looking out to the northwest. Then, a great buffet breakfast at the restaurant the following morning. So nice. Located just one hotel back from the beach. Recommended! We will be back when we have another event in Waikiki!! PS The renovation in process was not an issue for us at all!

Oh wow! Serious luxury and amazing service. This hotel has the best customer service I've ever experienced. From front desk, valet to pool staff. We stayed in the one bedroom suite for a family staycation. They think of everything! The room is fully stocked, toiletries, kitchen items, coffee maker, ice machine, laundry detergent, dish soap, you don't need to bring anything. Location is so great, so much shopping and restaurants and the beach all within 5 minute walking. I love staying here, will definitely be back!

Nice hotel overall! Great size kitchen, dining and living room. The bathroom is much bigger than the room. Overall great service but the pool is small and it's currently under construction. So only 1-2 elevator working. No access to the gym (need to use one at a different hotel). Need to use the stairs to access the pool and restaurant. I recommend waiting till renovations are fully done before staying at this hotel. Not getting full experience

Beautiful luxury hotel right in the heart of Waikiki! We stood one night due to our flight being delayed. But man do I wish I would've chose this resort instead of the one we stood at in Ko'Olina. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted with cold towels and a refreshing beverage. We were then escorted to our GORGEOUS one bedroom Oceanview suite, that we were upgraded to due to my Hilton status. Nice perk! We were then sent up a bottle of champagne since we were in Hawaii to celebrate our anniversary. Exemplary service! As far as amenities, the infinity pool was relaxing and breathtaking with comfortable pool chairs. The in-room dining service was delectable and one of our best meals we had in Hawaii. Get the poke, you won't be disappointed. Overall an outstanding stay. If you want luxury and first class service, look no where else. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ka La'i. I dream of you daily. Until we meet again....

This is a winner! Even with the ongoing construction, Ka La'i LXR scores points for their upscale feel and accommodating Ahola spirit. The hotel is currently under construction (7/2025), and it is now under the Hilton umbrella (formally Trump). Right now there's only one restaurant. Although it is smaller and a block off the beach, it is lovely and has some beautiful rooms. I felt and appreciated the Asian influence. Our suite was equipped with a kitchen with small fridge (not mini bar), cooktop, sink, coffee maker and hot tea kettle. Very nice pots and kitchenware provided (yes, even chopsticks). The view is gorgeous and the bathroom was a bidet toilet with warmer, an open concept shower, and soaking tub. It's very spacious in there and good to move about while bathing a few kids at a time. It was just Hubby and I, for the last leg of our anniversary trip, and we loved it. Concierge has beach chairs, umbrellas and towels, although they should offer more quality such as Tommy Bahama, which can withstand the Waikiki beach breezes. Staff is so friendly and helpful, especially bellman and concierge. One hiccup, we were told we had breakfast included. After eating at the restaurant twice, we found out it was only a $50 daily credit. But they were able to adjust and make things right. We used the hot tub/pool, which is nice and stays open late. We didn't use the spa, but i know that it's small and for treatments only (no wet lounge). It's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it to have a beautiful, clean, and model room in a great little hotel! I'd like to revisit one day when renos are done.

Booked this hotel on a whim since it had a great deal with points, and we had never stayed here before. We ended up booking two rooms for our family and from start to finish had a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing. Bret at the front desk was especially kind and even offered us an upgrade to a suite, which was such a nice surprise. We originally booked two rooms using points, which probably says a lot about how often we stay with Hilton. We travel to Honolulu multiple times a year to visit our daughter who lives there full time, and over the years we've stayed at two different condos in Hilton Village as well as several standard Hilton rooms in Honolulu. This property was by far our favorite out of all of them. The location was perfect. You're right in the main strip of Waikiki, so getting in and out was easy, and we were close to everything. I've always felt like Hilton Village is a little farther from the main strip, so this location made a big difference for us. They were doing some construction during our stay, but it really wasn't an issue since we were mostly in and out of the hotel enjoying the island. Also room service was outstanding! Food always arrived quick and hot. We all loved the food. We will definitely be coming back to stay here on our next visit. Pictures are from room 2315 (23rd floor)

We didn't know what to expect when we drove up to the hotel. Never heard of it, just knew it was a Hilton and we could use our points. The property is FANTASTIC. It's very clean, tucked away from the touristy traffic of Waikīkī and has a spa like vibe. The rooms are great with a small lanai that you can enjoy HH outside of your room. The bathroom is all marble and the tub is super deep. The Infinity pool and hot tub is open till 10pm. Valet only. The most important mention of staying here is THE STAFF! They are friendly, kind, professional and always willing to help. We will ABSOLUTELY STAY HERE AGAIN. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

In the past, when in this area we have stayed at the Hawaiian Village. Now we are upper tier…read moreMarriott members, we have left our Hilton days behind and checking out the Marriott products in Oahu. As this hotel is known from its historical presence, we have decided to stay here for our first time at Waikiki Beach. This hotel is centrally located in Waikiki beach. When you step out your door front, aka the lobby, you are in the midst of all the action. As this hotel is so centrally located it is popular for guest and visitors who come to visit the history of this hotel. We were visiting during the shoulder season, so we expected the hotel to be quiet. Some hotel management quote that hotels are only 30 percent full during late September. This hotel seemed busy and perhaps its due to the tight quarters. Given this hotel is centered around a tree, the bar and eatery space is tight--The mass amount of people in a tight space can seem unrelaxing to some. Upon checking in, we were also questioning ourselves, if we were really there during the shoulder season as there was a line at 2pm. And the Bonvoy line was the longest. As that line seemed long, we decided we better split up and stand in two lines. Despite the line being long, it went quickly. We appreciated that! And for Japanese guest there is a special line- Hawaii gets a lot of guests from HI. Our room was not ready yet, so we saddle up at the bar. We grabbed a drink, and before too long our room was ready. We left our luggage with the bell boy, and he brought it up when ready. We identify our room as ready by the app, before we got the phone call. We were informed that we had a nice suite waiting for us- We waited patiently for the elevators- lines can develop at the tower elevators. Once we got into the elevator- we were hot- I am not sure if the elevators have AC-- or if it was due to the number of people smooshed into the elevator. Our room was on the 20th floor at the end-- And it was a treat! Our suite had two balconies-- one that looked like it hung over the ocean and the other facing the Diamond head and the city. The room also has a mini bar with a fridge and microwave, a dining room table, a living room, a bedroom with a super comfy bed-- westin style, and a bathroom. The room was very modern. The historical charm of the centered part of the hotel does not carry over to the suites. The room was great due to the amazing views and balconies. I would select this room again for the views alone. The disappointment was the bathroom- the room features a bathroom that seemed slightly outdated. The bathroom only had a small shower and no bathtub. As for outside space- The beach in front of this hotel is not very big. This is partially due to storms. If you are looking for a beach with more depth from the hotel to the ocean- you may want to go to the Hawaiian village. The water is a bit rougher here too- good for surfing-- also it was storm season. As for the pool- skip the pool and go into the beautiful clear ocean. The pool is a joke-- it is so small. If you look at other hotel along the ocean, you will see most hotels are very small. The other sad thing is the lack of lounge chairs- there are minimal number of chairs for guest- and guest save them early. The chairs on the beach are for rent-- I think the hotel should provide more lounge chairs- but again space is lacking around this hotel. As for food- as Marriott ambassadors we were provide two breakfast meals per a day at the main restaurant or cafe. This first day we went to the restaurant and offered a choice of three continental breakfast items- the offer was sad as the food was horrible. Does this represent their lunch and dinner menu? To upgrade to the buffet- it was 32 dollars extra. The hotel's breakfast buffet is about 55 dollars- yikes! Not worth it. Service was great. The cafe, take away, was a better option- where we could spend a total of 40 dollars- breakfast sandwiches are on the menu. As you are at the beach- there is a lot of noise around the hotel- you hear music at this hotel plus all the hotel along the beach- so just be prepared for this- join in or bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Also, this hotel charges a resort fee that is over 50 dollars- the resort fee includes programs, towels, gym, etc. When checking in, the amenities were not really shared with us. We were not even told where the gym was. So I am not sure if they have a good gym for those who like to work out. Lastly, the staff at the hotel is wonderful!! A big shout out to the housekeepers who were always friendly and did a great job. And to the staff in the lobby who always helped me find my way around the hotel- to the point of almost taking me to my destination. So was it worth the price? Depends on what you see value in?!

It is so beautiful love everything about it. Specially the rocking chairs in the front .we're at the pool every day. The only issue is I have to wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning to take my place and they open at seven and before seven most chairs are taken. The only issue I have with this place is the fact that there's not enough chairs around the pool. I wish I could get them at 4 1/2 star, but it's not able to. The location is fantastic is right on the water. If you wanna swim don't swim in that part of the beach go farther when you're looking at the ocean to the left of it because in front of this hotel, there's a lot of rocks that can hurt your feet. The beach restaurant is unbelievable specially if you wanna order food while you're sitting at the pool, everything was incredible. I had the Caesar salad the burger. The pokey was all incredible. I will definitely be back. You're almost a five star.

We had one plated meal and one buffet meal and both were incredibly tasty and featured a distinct local flair. Well beyond the standard hotel conference food at other conferences we've attended. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The shopping options along the perimeter made it highly convenient to grab essentials and souvenirs between sessions. Plus there are several fun photo spots scattered across the property to enjoy. The pools and beach access were a great perk with plenty of space to unwind after a long day of presentations. Their Friday night firework show was a personal highlight. It is definitely a busy, large scale resort, but it served as an excellent, vibrant backdrop for our event.

Beautiful Ocean Views, but the Amenities Were Disappointing…read more My husband, our two daughters, and I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for three nights. While there were some wonderful highlights, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. Rainbow Tower & Housekeeping -- Excellent! We stayed in the iconic Rainbow Tower, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking! The room was very clean, and daily housekeeping deserves a round of applause. I also found the room rate reasonable, especially considering the beautiful views and beachfront location. Breakfast Buffet -- Overpriced and Underwhelming At approximately $50 per person, I expected much better quality and variety. The highlights were the excellent, high-quality bacon and four tropical juices, including guava, passion fruit, and orange. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was rather bland and uninspiring. The selection was limited, with options such as eggs Benedict, omelets, and loco moco. Overall, it felt like an ordinary hotel buffet with a luxury price tag. Swimming Pools -- Nice, but Good Luck Finding a Chair! The resort offers several pools, including two children's pools near the lagoon. Unfortunately, both were extremely crowded, and finding an available lounge chair was nearly impossible. The seating arrangements simply didn't seem adequate for the number of guests. The oceanfront pool near the bar was another disappointment. Although the pool itself was nice, there were no lounge chairs, only tables and regular chairs. This meant that at least one of us had to remain seated rather than comfortably relaxing by the pool. Not exactly the resort experience we had in mind! The largest pool was beautiful and suitable for adults and children, but equally crowded, making it difficult to find anywhere to sit. Lagoon & Beach -- The Ocean Wins! The resort's saltwater lagoon is convenient for families, but I wasn't impressed. The bottom had an unusual texture, almost like artificial sand, and whenever it was disturbed, the water turned milky and cloudy before settling. I can't speak to the actual water quality, but it didn't feel particularly fresh or inviting. I much preferred the ocean! The beach was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time swimming. There were some waves, so extra attention is needed with small children, but the ocean was definitely one of the highlights. Elevators -- A Frustrating Experience! The Rainbow Tower has a smart elevator system, which sounds great in theory, but during peak hours, it was an absolute nightmare! We waited over 15 minutes just to get an elevator, which is completely unreasonable for a resort of this size and reputation. We were in the 22nd floor. Going up and down became unnecessarily frustrating, especially when traveling with two young children. A modern elevator system should make things more efficient, not leave guests waiting nearly an hour just to reach their rooms or enjoy the resort facilities. This was another major disappointment and something management seriously needs to address. Final Thoughts The Hilton Hawaiian Village offers spectacular ocean views, clean accommodations, excellent daily housekeeping, and a beautiful beachfront location. However, the overcrowded pools, inadequate seating, disappointing $50 breakfast buffet, and underwhelming lagoon made the experience less enjoyable than expected. For a resort of this size and reputation, I expected a more relaxing and comfortable family experience. Would I stay again? Probably not. I'm glad we experienced it, especially the gorgeous Rainbow Tower views, but next time I'd prefer a smaller, quieter beachfront hotel where enjoying the pool doesn't feel like competing for a parking spot!

There should be an adults only pool, like that which is offered at other resorts. Lastly, food available was mediocre at best. 100 Sails is probably your best option - decent buffet for dinner and breakfast. We also ate one meal poolside since we were trying to relax there one afternoon. We ordered a cheeseburger deluxe with fries. The burger came with about a 3 oz patty, and the fries were as hard as a rock. For the $24 we paid, we probably got a $6 fast food combo meal. We also ordered a Caesar salad - that was a single romaine heart, split lengthwise, with 4 small shavings of Parmesan cheese and a tablespoon of bottled Caesar dressing; $24 too! Soft drinks were $8 each. I know hotel resort poolside food is expensive but I did expect something a little better. The best thing is the valet parking service; very fast and efficient since they always have about 6 valets working all the time. But be advised that this service is not cheap - $52 per day with a $5 tip each in/out trip!

Review: Beautiful property with lovely touches, but rigid service and poor beach access fell short…read moreWe recently completed our first trip to Honolulu, staying at the Halekulani while nearly seven months pregnant and traveling with our 3.5-year-old. As many mention, the property itself is pristine--calm, spotless rooms, excellent toilets, and comfortably sized showers and tubs. The nightly turndown treats from housekeeping (ranging from chapstick to custom coasters) were a delightful detail we looked forward to each evening. Breakfast was included and decent, though it skews heavily toward traditional Japanese options. As a pregnant guest, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of basics like oatmeal, and the requested toast turned out to be basic white bread. We encountered some exceptional team members. Donna at the front desk was wonderfully warm, remembering my son's name from our second day. A lovely woman at the pool with very long hair and a gentleman who plays in a band were also fantastic--he consistently helped us set up cabanas so I could stay out of the direct sun. Unfortunately, two major issues significantly impacted our stay: * Unprofessional Pool Management: The pool manager (who did not wear a nametag) was surprisingly rude. After another attendant helped us secure a shaded cabana the day prior to ensure I had sun protection while watching my son play, the manager confronted me about "saving" cabanas. Considering the hotel was not full, the aggressive tone taken with a heavily pregnant guest was completely unwarranted and unlike anything I've experienced at a property of this tier. * Misleading Beachfront Experience: The hotel advertises itself as a beachfront resort, but the accessible beach area is extremely minimal with choppy water. Between the lack of loungers or shade and the large Mai Tai catamarans constantly docking right next door, swimming isn't practical, nor is relaxing on the sand if you need sun relief. We truly wanted to love our stay, but given the premium price point, the combination of poor beach access and an unnecessarily hostile interaction at the pool left us thoroughly disappointed.

The beds were nothing special. Not horrible, but not great either; more like what I'd expect from a motel, not a supposed 4-star hotel. Yes it is super touristy but that's Waikiki for you. Although we only stayed for one night (on our way to Japan), I appreciated seeing all the activities that Outrigger offers on the schedule that they provide for you at check-in. A restaurant called Monkeypod is conveniently located within the building and they have the best maitais. It's super helpful that an ABC store is also located within the vicinity to grab snacks, drinks, and some souvenirs. Overall the place is really nice and the staff is so welcoming and kind. Would definitely love to stay here again!

With Blue Note being on the first level and Duke's on the second. Blue Note has a great jazz club, chill, intimate vibe that is great for a night out if you have a favorite artist you want to see perform. Duke's has a great view of the ocean and it's always packed yet the service stays consistent and attentive. Overall a great place to stay, but just as great of a place to visit as well!
