Walked in for a late lunch and it took about 5 minutes before anyone asked if I was looking to dine. Seemed they could care less and no big I just turned around and kept on walking. Had the Seared Ahi Tuna sandwich - came with a nice salad. Dish arrived with a fully cooked ahi. They agreed to prepare another one and this one was just right. Unfortunately all they did was remove the old and slap the fish in on the old bun versus replating the entire dish. If this place wasn't in eye view of the hotel, I doubt people would go. Especially since parking is Valet only from the hotel. So food was so so, but even worse they would not allow me to bill my hotel room. Not sure if you are a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel that this seems right. Thought I would drop this note to forwarn future visitors. Otherwise I would have skipped posting altogether. read more

EnZo was the best waiter! Everything was so fresh and affordable. We were visiting from New York and he recommended the best things. I ate the chicken parm even though I'm not a cheese fan and phew. One of my friends doesn't eat pork and they substituted the pork for steak which was muah (this was the ham and pineapple pizza). Another bad the prosciutto one and it was wow. I could go on and on on what we ate since there were more people in my party but I was so sad that we came to this restaurant on one of our last days in Miami. The smell of fresh Romano cheese drew us in while we were greeted with "Make yourselves at home folks!" It was like being at home with delicious homemade pasta and spaghetti sauce so good only a mother could have made it. Fresh homemade bread with crunchy outside and delicious buttered texture on each slice. Loved the tomato caprise with outstanding quality of mozzarella cheese and tomato The Italian coffee was good to the last drop where I wanted to lick the cup! Flagship restaurant of the Doubletree Grand Building, quite fine higher end Italian (American) food. As you'll find out in future reviews, stars will always be largely dependent on bang for the buck-- both quality and quantity. Primo's gets four stars for the meal we had there in early September after recently moving into a condo upstairs. They had a great summer prix fixe menu with decent variety (pasta, veggie, fish, meat selections). Service was friendly if casual, food was tasty, well prepared and came very quickly. I'd probably go three stars without the Prix Fixe-- the space is a little awkward and very dark, and the prices are a little high for this penny pincher. read more

Average. Had to laugh at the start as they asked if we'd like to sit "outside" which concussed of being seated in the mall hallway! We had a steak which was just ok. Salmon that everyone loved. Wedge salads which were good and the vodka pasta which was reheated and tough at best. Don't even bother with the cheesecake. I've had stale cookies that were better. Cuban cookie was a yummy ending. I absolutely love Primo's. it sits between The Marriott and the a condo/Doubletree so it has a great mix of locals and tourists. The bar is intertwined with the restaurant and it is always bustling. Great 2 for 1 happy hour and sports are always on the tv's. the egg plant parm is my fav bit all their pastas (which they hand make) and salads are always exceptional. They also have steak and fish that are presented very nicely. I frequent the hotels on site so I eat here at least twice per week and never have I had a meal that wasn't exceptional. The staff is pleasant and professional to top it off. The Owner is almost always her talking with his guests. This place is the real deal! read more

We stopped here for an appetizer and drinks. A great full service bar. It is literally steps from the Double Tree Hotel and Grand Hilton. It is part of a small shopping center with ladies shops, an apothecary, and several types of eateries. The service could have been better, the waitress was a bit preoccupied with other customers. It looks like the dish of choice should be the pizza. The person next to us had one that was loaded with cheese and he makes a special trip to this bar just for the pizza. read more

Don't eat here! Food and service was horrible. I was with a large group. Approximately 15-30 people and we were all African Americans. I hope the poor service was not due to our ethnicity. But, many of us asked for separate checks for small groups because we did not come together as an organization or company. The service immediately turned horrible. My waiter, "Oscar" was rushed and dismissive when I asked about several entrees. The flatbread pizza I ordered was burnt around the edges and the artichokes were so over sized and barely cooked. To top it off, when I paid, my waiter did not return the change. After I complained he indicated for more than 10 min that I never paid. After an ongoing exchanges he said he would give me the "benefit of the doubt" and returned my change. Unacceptable.! read more

We went in right before the lunchtime rush on a Monday and were seated right away! My mother-in-law had the The Grand Chicken Sandwhich with apple wood smoked bacon and provolone and my husband a regular burger with fries. Both were delicious and we didn't expect the burger to stand out but it did...Perfectly cooked, big and juicy! I ordered the Chicken Paillard, chicken breasts pounded thin and pan fried, served over and arugula and cherry tomato salad. It was excellent! Primo's is located inside The Grand at the Double Tree Hilton, nestled inside the shopping area of The Grand. If you haven't tried it, it's definitely worth a try especially for a quick lunch at a reasonable price! read more

As we were staying at The Double Tree during the Ultra Music Festival, we were too lazy to walk to the Bayside Shopping Center. Primo's was right downstairs, and figured why not give it a shot! We started off with the Sausage and Jalepeno's, and my goodness I've never tried anything more spectacular! It was made in this spicy tomato sauce. For the main coarse, I had their Homemade Lasagna which was divine, better than my mothers who I use to say was the best! We plan to visit Premo's every time we come by Miami! Now open for breakfast. Restaurant is in the doubletree. Breakfast is better than a normal hotel, and gave the option of lunch for breakfast, which I love. But, the service was incredibly slow. I have dined here couple of times. It's conveniently located on the ground floor of Doubletree residence midtown Miami where I usually stay. The garlic bread is amazing. I tried the lasagna there and I found it moist and delicious. Second time around, I ordered the fish tacos . It's a trios, bit spicy but very tasty. However the amount of fish in the tacos was disproportionate. I'd have liked to see more of it. Also the service is a bit slow especially if you're sitting in their indoor patio. read more

I wanted to like this place. The ambiance is nice and the servers were friendly. I've been here twice, the first time, I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. It was too dark to see if the chicken was actually underdone, but the consistency just wasn't right. I should have sent it back, but it was late and I was tired. Last night, I decided to try it again and order Margarita pizza. What I got looked nothing like an Italian style margarita pizza. Came here for drinks and appetizers on a Friday night. Order Hendricks martini and meatball appetizer. The martini was well made but they didn't have blue cheese olives. The meatballs were amazing. Italian restaurants must first have great pasta! The good consistent waitstaff, and finally a nice place to hang. Prima's meets these three criteria. My wife had spaghetti & meatballs, a generous serving and the pasta and meat balls were great! I have a gluten problem, but they offer penne ala vodka with a choice of salmon, chicken, or shrimp. This gluten free pasta was wonderful and the sauce was amazing. You should check that the gluten free pasta is available but the two out of three times we were there it was available. They have a 2 for 1 happy hour, and they were nice enough to allow both my wife and I to have a glass each as we are not big drinkers. I found the waitstaff attentive but not pushy, it was a relaxed atmosphere which is difficult to pull of in a major hotel complex. They do a lot of take out. During a recent stay at a nearby hotel my friend and I decided to try Primo's. We were greeted at the door and sat at a table in the far corner. It was the first day of the Soccer World Cup and it was playing on all the tvs at the bar. The table they sat us at was in a section of the restaurant that was extremely hot so we asked to be re-seated at a different table. The waiter acted as if we were the first people to ever ask that question in history. He said we can adjust the portable a/c unit and I said no I'd rather just switch tables. He sighed and grumbled "well pick a table then". We picked a table in the center and it was a lot cooler. We ordered and waited for our food. The unsweetened tea was flavored and not to my taste even though when I asked for unsweetened tea I was not told it was flavored. Our food arrived. I ordered a burger with bleu cheese chunks and fries my friend a house salad and chicken wings. Nothing too hard to produce. I asked for ketchup (and utensils since I was never given any to start). The food runner chuckled said sorry and dropped some utensils, ketchup and squeeze mayo on the table. Note that we haven't seen our waiter since we ordered. My burger was way overdone. I asked for medium well but it was cooked till it was tough and very dry. Fries were the exact opposite soft limp and undercooked. My friend said his wings were ok. During the meal we had to ask one of the other waiters for a tea refill for my friend since our waiter was down at the end of the bar glued to the World Cup broadcast. He never did come by the table to see how the meal was or otherwise check on us. A couple of things I noticed that really bothered me from a sanitary perspective though. A girl came out of the kitchen grabbed a towel that was laying on the end of the bar, SMELLED IT, then proceeded to dry some plates that were stacked on the bar for the waiters to grab as needed. Later one of the kitchen staff took a large garbage pail on a hand truck out of the restaurant through the dining room while people were dining. Ewww. AFTER we were finished the waiter actually showed up and cleared the plates and then disappeared again. We waited ten minutes before finally asking someone to find him so we could get our bill. Not a stellar performance to say the least. Might have considered a do over at a later date since the hotel concierge did say they were good but the sanitary concerns knocked it off the possible eateries list forever. read more

Poor service today. Ordered the classic Caesar salad with added shrimp. The shrimp orginally came out burned, as if the grill was literally smoking! Second round of shimp was simply burnt, but not smoking burnt. The service avoided my table and all eye contact; ( short small frame, semi bald guy with ears that flare out). The seafood pasta (frutti de mare) was awesome and it paired very well with my white wine. The staff was very helpful with menu suggestions and food came out quickly. The two things that I didn't like but didn't think they were avoidable: the price was hotel restaurant grade and I didn't think the air conditioning was running. We are in Miami, people! read more
