Today my office put a order through to have delivered by grub hub.. when the Oder was delivered we were missing a hoagie I called primo and after several attempts calling someone finally picked up, and then I was passed 3 times to different people, before finally getting the manager Barry. Barry, well if you want to call him a manger. He went over our order and read the missing hoagie as part of the order.. after telling him, yes that's the one we are missing.. he Told me this was a Grubhub issue. A grubhub issue??? I said to him your staff prepared our food.. your staff put the food in the bags... how is this a grubhub issue. He then said he was not able to do anything that I would need to call grubhub. I didn't want a refund. I wanted my hoagie. I asked doesn't primo have a delivery person to bring my hoagie that was not included by your staff. He said well, he's doing deliveries and then he's clocking out. Soo completely dissatisfying!!! Barry definitely needs some customer service skills.. that's for sure!!! read more

I've been to another Primo's location in the past and was a little disappointed by the size of the sandwich here as it was rather thin. However, it was a pretty delicious sandwich and a nice quick lunch. I also like their pickles and definitely want to come back to try their other sides that they offer inside! read more

I stopped by here because after I moved to the Lehigh Valley my friends RAVED about this place. So, one day I'm headed to work and I pick up a sub for me and my coworker. We both got the tuna sub(sorry, "hoagie"). The tuna tasted dry and the bread was hard as a rock. So, my friends told me that I ordered the wrong sandwich and that I should give them another go. I go back there again and this time get it with "white" instead of "wheat"(perhaps I'm spoiled by Subway but I'd like to have more than two choices of bread!). I can't remember which sandwich I got but I do know that it had pepper shooters on it. Yes, this sandwich was better but the bread was still hard. Perhaps this is odd but I don't like fighting with my food in order to eat it... Plus, they have a rewards program. I paid almost $7 for a small and how many points did I get? 1. I think from now on, I will go next door to the Top Star and go to the Subway they have there. The place where I can get good soft bread, plenty of toppings(not to mention more variety) and much better pricing. You had two shots, Primo Hoagies, and you let me down both times. Very disappointed. I ordered a whole turkey and cheese for myself and my husband. The board clearly said that the sandwich was $18 and change. I paid and went to the table I looked at the receipt and noticed that I was changed an extra $2 for cheese. When I questioned the cashier, she told me that the price on the board was wrong and it should be $20 and change for the sandwich so she just added the extra $2. I told her that I thought this was ridiculous and that they should have a sign there correcting the price, they should not just go and over charge customers because their sign is wrong. It's false advertising and I asked for my $2 back. She told me she could not give me back the money because the owner said they have to charge the extra. Well Mr or Mrs Owner, I hope you like your extra $2 in your pocket because you will never see my business again. read more

Ordered 9 subs for myself and coworkers at a total of $76. We also were met by the rude woman on the phone. If it's too much trouble to take and prepare orders, maybe you should stay home. Sandwiches were stuffed well, however in peak season I'd like fresh tomatoes, not the unripened pink ones. As others have said, bread is too chewy and hard to enjoy the sandwich. Prices are on the expensive side as well. Two coworkers ordered wraps at $9 and we're not happy with size vs cost. For the money we spent, they wouldn't throw in a free bag of chips or even a pickle. No big deal, but a nice gesture to encourage repeat business. We won't be back nor will we recommend to other coworkers. read more

TERRIBLE experience. I do not recommend to anyone. The cashier was extremely rude and short with me. She was rushing my order the entire time and would not even look at me. It was quite obvious that she was not happy taking my order. She would not explain soda size to me that they offered but instead, rudely pushed a cup in my face saying "this size". I was very embarrassed standing in line amongst other customers and will not be returning. The management is away of this person and her actions and yet she still works there?! Unfortunately I will not be returning to Primo as a direct result of her actions, and the inaction of the management. My visit was May of 2015. read more

This is by far the best hoagie shop in the Lehigh Valley. While it can be incredibly busy during the lunch rush, the employees do a fantastic job in terms of making the hoagie and getting it out to the customer in a timely fashion. On top of that, the employees always have something nice to say such as "here you go, sir" or "have a great day." I come here at least once a week and I have never complained once. read more

I'm really not surprised to see some of the local Lehigh Valley people panning Primo. And to the guy that said he waited forever for his cheesesteak, Primo doesn't serve cheesesteaks, so who knows where you were. The roll is supposed to be that way, that is a classic South Philadelphia roll (Sarcone's Liscio) and that's what makes the hoagie a hoagie. People out here are used to the soft dutchie bread, and that's fine for what it is. But that's not a true South Philly hoagie. Primo is good -- not the best that I've ever had, but very solid and a true taste of home for me. I mean, really, people around here put steak-uum on a fake Maier's "Italian" roll and drench it in marinara sauce and call it a cheesesteak. Ugh... read more

As far as sandwich chains go, this one is definitely a winner in my book. I've had both a chicken cutlet sub with roasted red peppers and thick cut mozzarella as well an eggplant sub with garlic roasted broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers, and sharp provolone. Both are a little oily and maybe not super healthy, but they are delicious. read more

Good eats! Fresh, affordable. Service is quick & relatively quick. Facility was clean, yet busy during Saturday lunch rush. Menu is absolutely huge, with infinite combinations. Sandwich was definitely better than Subway - more freshly sliced and less processed. The roll makes it. Both crunchy and chewy can hold moisture without getting soggy. Best hoagie roll in the valley hands down. Awesome. Everybody on here complaining about the rolls have obviously grown accustom to the soggy and soft rolls most sub places pass off as bread. This place isn't going to win any points as the best deli ever, but it definitely holds it's own if you're in the mood for a large and filling sandwich. The diablo sandwiches are always what I get, although the Italian specialties look pretty good too. The staff kind of sucks here though. Always takes way too long to make a sandwich and too much standing around. I used to work in a deli and can't stand watching someone lazily going though the motions... sandwich making is an art. My wife has stopped in here for subs on her way home from work maybe six times now and our subs were totally ruined each and every time. We live about a half hour away and ask for them to be made dry, each and every time they add dressing. By the time my wife gets home the rolls are saturated with oil and vinegar, just plain awful. We have given this place far too many chances and we will NOT return. The people there obviously aren't deaf maybe they don't understand english maybe they can't read, somethings wrong. read more

I just went to Primos and got the best sandwich Ever!!! I also indulged in the dirt pudding one of my favorite desserts. I ordered a roast beef on a Seedless roll. Every bit of it was Super Fresh. The employees were Super Nice which I Greatly Appreciate. Can't ask for more. Keep up the Great work!! read more

Over priced and disappointing. My husband had roast beef which he said was tasteless and I had the bada boom...deep fried chicken patty with one disgusting, slimy, and limp pepper. I love the food, the one star is becuase I was there on a sunday, and they seemed to have 9 or more staff members, and only 2 were working, the rest were more interested in a football game up on the screen. 25 minutes for a hoagie to get made...there was nobody ahead of me in line...and the next 6 people all got theirs quicker than mine! Usually this Primos is very good. however today not so good. Phoned in my order and the girl who took my order had an attitude. when I went in to pick up order; same person that answered phone still had an attitude and was rude & abrupt. Also the rolls were not good this time; they were hard. One of the sandwiches was not made correctly. Also 3 nights ago I came in and placed a take out order. that I paid for so while I was waiting I noticed they had bags of chips I decided to by some; I was waiting at cash register with chips on counter and the cashier just let her mother cut in front of me! Stopped in after shopping to get some food for takeout. I ordered 2 hoagies a turkey and cheese and an audiablo. The girl wrapping the subs had no idea what she was doing because when we got home the order was wrong. What I got was some kind of ham hoagie in a a wrapper that said turkey and a turkey with mustard in an audiablo wrapper. I was pretty pissed when I got home and I'm sure the other people who got the wrong take out order were to. I probably will never stop in again for food. What a waste of money and time. read more

As far as the food, I can only speak on their Italian hoagie, but the sandwich is really tasty. I'm sure the other sandwiches are good, as well. The service, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. I showed up at 6:50 to pick up dinner for my husband and I and was told that they were closed when I walked through the door. Confused, I left the store, and saw on their hours sign that they close at 7. This makes no sense. This time is still dinner time. I'm sure there are many people leaving work who would like to also pick up dinner at that time. There was another man in the parking lot at the same time as me who was equally confused/annoyed by the closing time, so clearly this must happen often. If you are going to have a closing time of 7, then perhaps you should not allow your workers to stop taking customers at 6:45. That's a sure way to lose a great deal of business. The quality of the meat, cheese and veggies, along with the bread puts Primo in the top spot. I had to create a Yelp account just to warn people about how bad this place is. This is literally my first review of any restaurant. Service was the worst I've ever seen of any establishment of any kind. Waited 25 minutes for a sandwich before having to cancel my order. I get an HOUR lunch break and work close by, and still would have been late due to how slow this place is. I said I wanted to cancel my order unless they already started making it. They had not...25 minutes of waiting and they hadn't even started it. They have a bunch of people standing around while one or two people make the sandwich, because of what i assume is "their job to package the sandwich" or "their job to do ____". It doesnt matter if that's what your job is, if food isn't being made in the first place. I saw multiple people who were there before me ask to cancel their orders, or waiting for half an hour at the tables with nothing, or changing their orders to go else they would be late. Who knows how long I would have stood their if I would have waited longer. Almost comically mismanaged. Will never try Primos again. Avoid. read more

As a vegetarian, I find it hard to frequent sandwich shops as for me its kinda like an alcoholic entering a bar. The first time I went to Primos I had some eggplant thing mish-mashed with cheese and broccoli rabe and other such accuturements. It was ok and all, but even just reading their menu, which consisted of such delicacies as natural cased genoa salami, proscuitto, sharp prov, and the like, made my mouth water and eventually led me to my meat relapse if you will. One week later, I am in line at primos with greasy protien on my mind and moments later on my palate. Now, Ive always known I would eat meat again someday, but I didnt picture it like this. The vastness of my imagination has boundries that my tastebuds are unwilling to accept it seems. So like a good Hindu, I inhaled all that was sacred from a cow and like a bad Jew a devoured swine as if God didnt exist. Perhaps thats why they call it the Diablo. Either way, you can be sure that whether that sandwich was indeed handed down from God and merely rapped in wax paper by the cute girls that work there or if it was infact sent up from the depths of hell by Satan himself as to detour me from my spiritual awakening through vegantarianism, all they do at Primos is divine. Also, I liked that they gave me a choice of wheat or white. I had the wheat. All in all it was like subway, except you know, good. read more

Just had my 1st Primo Hoagie and I must say I am NOT IMPRESSED. There are 2 things that shape this opinion. #1. Price: $5.99 for a small 6 inch Italian is just way too much. #2. The Bread - My Philly born and raised brother in law, when opening a small eatery, told me the secret to fabulous hoagies. The meat/cheese should be top notch, delicious, and sliced as thin as possible. The vegetables should be fresh, and, again sliced thin as possible. The BREAD/ROLL needs to correctly compliment the main ingredients(not cancel them out); this is accomplished by using fresh, SOFT & chewy roll which allows the full flavor of the meats, cheeses and vegetables to shine through & makes the mouth feel pleasant while chewing(i.e. you should not need TMJ surgery after eating a hoagie). The Primo Italian Hoagie looked great; the meat was sliced thin(there was even genuine, thin sliced prosciutto), the provolone seemed top notch and the veggies were fresh and thinly sliced. However, I was literally unable to taste any of the above mentioned ingredients as the roll was a rock solid Italian hard roll. It completely took over the sandwich and overpowered the enjoyment of, what appeared to be, otherwise excellent ingredients. Not to mention the condition it left my overworked, sore masseter muscle. Hard rolls are great for bruschetta, not for hoagies. read more
