The sandwiches were all delicious! The combination of flavors meshed well in both the cheesesteaks and chicken Cesar sandwiches. The portions are big too so if you're hungry this is the place! My family enjoyed the food and had enough to eat the next day! For a group of 9, they accommodated us very well. I appreciate the service my family received here. Called and ordered delivery while I was working in the area. I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce, which came with garlic bread and a side salad, and I also ordered a few garlic knots. I was able to pay and tip on my card while on the phone. My food arrived sooner than estimated, and I could tell when it arrived because I could smell that yummy garlic when I was stepping out of my office. The pasta was a nice big portion, the garlic bread was good, and the garlic knots were filling on their own. The side salad had the Caesar dressing that I requested, and the pasta had the side of Parmesan that I was looking forward to, as well. For Italian takeout, Mario's is definitely one that I would recommend to anyone to order from. The quality is a bit above average than what I expected from this kind of place. I ordered from here cuz it was approximately 45 minutes before my lunch and I didn't want to risk being late. I figured since the restaurant is literally a mile from the job and I had an uncomplicated order, that would be sufficient time to get my food. I was wrong. One of the worst meals I've ever had. I had three options to choose from that delivered to my hotel, and boy, did I choose poorly. Pasta fagioli soup was completely tasteless, and it had been microwaved in the styrofoam container they sent it in. The container was warped and puffed out, very obviously reheated. This is not only lazy but also potentially toxic. Even if I had wanted to, I could not eat it at all, as the container literally began to disintegrate in my hands and had to be dumped into the trash. Fried calamari was rubbery and the marinara was just OK. I can't really judge a place by a fried item that's been delivered, but I don't expect this is much better freshly made. Mario salad was absolutely drenched in water. They made no attempt to drain it or dry it before putting it into the clamshell salad box. Just gross. I ordered from here expecting your average suburban pizzeria fare. What I got was way, way, way below average. If you're staying in Allentown and it's one of your options, get the Chinese instead. read more

28 Oct 2018** Went with a group totaling seven. I had a medium chicken steak calzone, expecting to take half home for a second meal. One other person ordered a small calzone. The other five were done eating their sandwiches/ meals before our calzones even arrived. The calzone was mostly bread. I had to cut twenty five percent off one end before getting to the ingredients inside. This was the same on both ends of the calzone. This leaves the middle half to actually eat with product other than bread. The chicken was not seasoned and was in a big lump in the middle. the other ingredients, onions etc., where on either side of the chicken in dense quantities. This was not a properly made calzone, neither mix of ingredients or in flavor. The bathroom was clean but dark. It appeared they had a twenty five watt, perhaps a forty watt light bulb, in the brown/tan tiled bathroom. It looked like a cave. Ordered a pizza here today and it was good. Nothing about it blew me away. The crust was nice and crisp. The sauce was the write amount. I would have liked a tad more cheese and a tad more well done. The service was pretty fast and somewhat friendly. The place seemed clean! I like the use of real dishes. The way things are run leaves an awkward tipping situation if you eat in. You order and pay, then have a seat. After they bring out your food on real dishes. When you are done eating you feel unsure what to do. Hi. I am in quarantine. I ordered a pizza and a salad for delivery - approx $30.00 including a tip. The food was perfect. Pizza, exactly how I ordered it. Well done and the salad was terrific. So....I called and told them how terrific the food was. The man who answered was really nice and appreciated the call. (I owned a restaurant in NYC) (Pizza arrived - delivery person wore mask - very impressive.) So, a month later - just this past week, I ordered the same thing - also with same instructions that the pie be well done - same one topping. etc. The order arrived and the pie was not well cooked and the salad sat in a big puddle of water. Just awful. Since he was so "kind & pleasant" I thought he would want to know. He was aggressively defensive, telling me he cooked the pizza and it was well done. NOT...Picking up a slice, everything flopped off and the point of the slice hung down. Only one topping-the dough was soggy & it was not close to hot = which is not a big deal, but the first one was piping hot - He also told me his chef - (makes the salad in the morning - really?) First let me start off by saying, I've never reviewed any product, place or event. But after visiting marios pizza I just had to get the word out that this place is worth going to! I ordered the Italian stromboli and the flavor combinations were fantastic. The small size was too much for me to finish in one sitting, that being said I'd say the price was more than fair compared to other pizzerias I've been to that charge more for less. The waitress was very nice and pleasant to talk to also. The atmosphere was very friendly and casual. I have to admit, i'm a little sad i didnt know about this place sooner. How can you say your unbiased when someone post a negative review and you hide it under "Not Recommended" I gave an honest review and it gets kicked somewhere where nobody will see it. I have read the blog where this has happened to many people. Take your site down if your not going to be honest. Makes me think now that you do cater to the business owners. I have found many reviews on YELP, not just from Mario's where family members are giving four and five stars to boost the restaurants ratings so why don't you modify your software to pull those out instead of removing the honest reviews. read more
