Sadly, NY Stromboli pizza is going downhill fast. "The Crust", in Allentown has by far the best pizza in the entire Lehigh Valley. Back to NY Stromboli - Their strategy is to barely put enough cheese on their pizza. I got into an little argument with them when I complained of quarter sized spot in the pizza that had NO cheese. The women clled me a liar and vehimantly denied that happened. Next trip to pick up my pizza (it's about a mile from my house, and delivery yields cold pizza), I opened to box in the store and SHOWED her the bald spots. Note: Nowadays, they cut back on the amount of topings used. When I used to order a veggie pie it was packed with veggies. NOT ANY MORE! I ordered a veggie pie about a month ago and had a hard time finding sufficient veggies on the pie. BTW - their general attitude - not very friendly. Note2: Meatball sub has mealballs cut in half and spaved apart. Their chicken parm sub consists of cut up pieces of chicken also spaced unevenly. Very disappointing. read more

I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant. They literally have signs in their front door what you can and can't do. And then complain about the clientele in front of said clientele. Yet you moved into an area with the clientele you don't like. I don't understand your people. No one ever says hi. And they always seem like you're an inconvenience. The straw that broke the game was back was my legal for my daughter couldn't come in with her book bag. He had her book bag is full of type 1 diabetic stuff. Yet they still wanted to tell her. Don't understand the negative reviews. We've gotten takeout for dinner for many years and we have never been disappointed. Their pizzas are just as good as those in NYC, and we would know. We lived in NYC for almost 15 years and have tried many different places there. The food here is just as delicious as anything we got in New York. The service has always been excellent. It is sad to say but I loved this place it was the closest to NY pizza here in Allentown for me but today I ordered a salad for lunch and it came with a fly. When we called to let them know we were put on hold twice and were kind of dismissive because they were busy. Now I understand things happen but that is just totally unacceptable for a food establishment . They asked if we wanted another one but I will never order from here again. This along with the unfriendly delivery lady was it for me. Oh and we ordered 2 salads and only one was refunded despite us throwing them both out because who would want to eat after finding a fly in one of the salads.. very disappointing read more

This is probably one of the WORST Stromboli & Pizza places I've been to. 1.) As soon as we walked in, we were stared at for about a minute and a half by the cashier having to ASK for menus and having to tell her it was for here not to go. 2.) The whole time we were there, the lady taking phone orders b*tched at customers the whole time on the phone. 3.) Main orders came first while the appetizers arrived afterwards. 4.) The grilled chicken sandwich had maybe 2 THIN pieces of chicken just thrown into a bed of lettuce. 5.) The Stromboli sauce tasted like tomato paste and there was barely any meat in the MEAT STROMBOLI. How's that work? 6.) Pretty sure we were ripped off, how does a Stromboli, pizza fries, garlic knots and a sandwich come to $35? RIDICULOUS. 7.) The lady that took our order looked like she barely knew what we were talking about and we had to prompt the conversation, not her. 8.) I've read the reviews for this place and decided to give it a shot, and it is as good as I hoped it would be. An hour before close on a Saturday night was an unintended stress test, but they rose to the occasion. I ordered a small salad, calzone, and cannoli. The salad was crisp and fresh, the calzone just the right size, without being too much, and the cannoli was fantastic. They obviously fill the cannoli shells to order and do not refrigerate them, because the shells had the correct crunch instead of being soggy. It is a small shop that looks fairly typical of its type , but any place that has people that can smile when they are so busy, gets an extra nod from me. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that I want to try more things from the menu before I give it a top rating. read more

Best pizza in Allentown by far .I love this place an avid customer always there pick up my kids at the school we stop by get a slice or two on the weekends I get the extra large pie pepperoni it's a great price it's like $22. Great value for extra-large and when I say extra-large, I mean extra large it's a huge pizza. So when I lived in Allentown area, I use to order from this eatery all the time. I moved away and after a long day, I wanted a good peperoni roll. I stopped at a closer place to my hotel to find that it was owned by someone new, and the food did not look the same. I took the drive to NY Stromboli to find the same family members behind the counter. They remembered me from years before. I ordered my peperoni roll, and it was as good as I remembered. Let me add the same staff as been there for years to include the deliver driver. The food is always fresh, comes out hot. Growing up in Brooklyn I guess I was spoiled to say the least. Since me and my wife relocated to the Lehigh valley 11 years ago we craved that NY style pizza and when we initially saw the name of this place we weir like "Yeah right!" Lol but once we tried it we were hooked! The Pizza is even better than some of our favorite NY pizza joints. The employees are extremely friendly and the owner is the best!! Class act!! My husband and I live in Arizona and visiting the Lehigh Valley to attend our grandson's high school graduation. After walking in the beautiful Lehigh Parkway we decided upon NY Stromboli Pizza for lunch. We went inside where two people were standing ahead of us. When the RUDE woman behind the counter noticed us, she said "Are you next?" Since we didn't know the status of the individuals ahead of us, we mentioned "well, that lady was already here". The RUDE woman behind the counter said, "she's been waited on, do you want something?" We didn't know where to order and she thought it was plain as day to stand in front of the register to order. Everything here is amazing. I have been coming here since 06 and feel like their pizza is top 3 in the valley. Chicken italiano is my go to ( chicken, peppers and onion) but their broccoli ricotta pizza is also super tasty. Their pizza crust is thin and crispy, their sauce isn't too sweet or overpowering and their toppings are always fresh! Their garlic knots are my favorite because of the chunks of garlic on them and how they're crispy and soft ! Also they gave the best marinated chicken salads in town! It's a decent pizza slice, has all the ingredients but nothing extraordinary or mouthwatering- just convenience if you are nearby. There's a minimum for credit cards so bring cash if you're just a single bloke. The major turn-off I had was that I was extremely thirsty and I hate when places charge for refills on their fountain drinks. It's a very minor complaint, I'd probably return for a pizza slice in a pinch. Then again the fairgrounds farmer's market is nearby and I've heard rumors of the variety and food so that will be my more likely destination. read more

Pizza is okay but not well done as I had asked. For just the pizza, I would give it 2 stars but the service was awful. Website said not to come in store for pick up but to wait in your car and call them. I did and was immediately put on hold. Call got dropped. I called back but no one answered. Meanwhile, I'm watching several people walk in. I went in and saw one guy manning the ovens with his face mask below his nose. An older lady came out from the back carrying a container of sauce with her face mask below her nose. I said something to woman waiting on me and she insisted that everyone was wearing a mask. I pointed out the guy. She told him to pull his mask up which he did for 30 seconds and immediately pulled it back down again. I won't go back.
