Great dinner. The restaurant was great, the customer service and hospitality was amazing. I loved the energy in the place. It was a Friday night so it was buzzing with customers. Make reservations!!! Parking in Tacoma is always tough so make sure to get there early. Food time! I had the Moroccan chicken and it was tender, moist, flavorful and well portioned. I couldn't finish the entire serving. My friends tried different dishes. One had the New York steak but said it was dry and well done even though he specified he would like it medium. My other friend had the pork chop and mentioned it was delish. Last dish was the penne ala vodka. He mentioned it was made perfect. We also ordered the burrata with delicata squash, pomegranate seeds and fig gastrique drizzle. This was AMAZING. I've never had these flavors together before. Our servers and the hostess were so accommodating. They have these glass garage style doors that I'm sure they open up during summer months. I love this place and definitely plan on returning. Ooooo, Bathroom was clean, that's a plus!! Always like to provide that feedback. We also ordered bourbon chocolate cake that was devoured. Great place to gather with people you like. It can get pretty packed in there. Loved everything. Except the dry steak. Maybe next time it'll be better.

This restaurant is a true gem, striking a rare balance between casual and fine dining. It feels approachable and unpretentious, yet delivers a level of quality, thoughtful menu design and attentive, polished service typically associated with more formal establishments. The Mediterranean focus is well executed, offering a mix of authentic/popular, well composed dishes that avoid cliches and bring fresh, vibrant flavors to the table. The wine selection is excellent and thoughtfully curated and the dessert offerings provide a strong, satisfying finish to the experience. Versatile in atmosphere, it works equally well for a romantic evening, a dinner with friends, professional gatherings or larger family occasions. Strongly recommended.

Went here for Valentine's Day and had a phenomenal experience! Not only was the service quick, attentive, and friendly, the aesthetic was nice and the food was excellent. To start, my wife and I tried their brand new Espresso Martini and to our astonishment, the bartender actually came up to our table and told us it was the first day that they were offering that drink and wanted an honest review. Truthfully, it was great! Sometimes espresso martinis don't have the right mix of flavor and just taste like bitter vodka and coffee, separately. But this drink was very succinct and well mixed. We had the ragu and the New York steak and both dishes exceeded our expectations! I have no notes or ideas for improvement, they were perfection! This is the perfect place for a date night or business meeting. Thanks for the awesome night!

This charming spot made for a great dining experience. The restaurant was bright, clean, and welcoming, with a super friendly staff that added to the warm atmosphere. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, it was tough to choose a favorite! One of the pastas or the appetizer might take the top spot, but honestly, everything was so good. We enjoyed every bite and even ended up ordering a second pizza because we just couldn't get enough!

My first time trying Primo Grill was this past Saturday. We made reservations before hand. It's a cute restaurant in the city of Tacoma, WA. The service was great since we arrived, our waitress was very attentive and they also have a special that is not on the menu. The food and drinks were delicious, I had a lemon drop and we ordered the Classic Pizza and Pene pasta I will definitely come back to this restaurant, either to go on a date or in a big group with family/friends.

Primo Grill has been on sixth Ave for twenty five years and now that I've eaten here four times in the last few years, I know why. It's unpretentious, welcoming, and the food is perfect every time. The bartender mixes my favorite Old Fashioned in Tacoma and the Happy Hour deal is one of the best. I love being at Primo, it accomplishes that rare feat of being comfortable and special at the same time.

Classy and delicious! In from Honolulu for graduation weekend, and we found this restaurant and we're happily surprised at everything. The staff and especially our waitress's was top notch. The food exceptional. I had the chicken and it was cooked perfect with a Mediterranean flavor. Everyone else dish was excellent. You won't be disappointed, we weren't

This was a very cute place for a date night. The food was quite tasty and we were so happy with our appetizers. For our main, my husband got the penne ala vodka with a half chicken. The chicken had great flavor and the past was also good. I got the pork chop which I normally don't do that often because pork is hard to cook. It came out and it was medium rare (and no one advised that it would be undercooked or asked for a temp) It took a long time for us to flag down our waitress after we got our mains so by the time I got my dish back, my husband was done eating. The drinks were very good also. We got the chocolate cake which isn't listed as flourless so it can be misleading as to what it is. We got the vanilla panna cotta as well which was good but we weren't blown away by either dessert. When all was said and done our bill was well over 200 for the two of us and we were honestly shocked that we didn't get comp'd a small something for me getting medium rare pork. They also add 20% to your bill when it comes out. Be prepared to drop a good amount of money when you come here!

My wife have been her numerous times now and we both agree its our new favorite spot. Recently we came for my birthday and usually my go to spot for treating friends or family. The menu has a great balance -- a solid base of dishes you can always count on, plus rotating specials that keep things fresh and give you a reason to come back. Everything we ordered was well-cooked and full of flavor. The drinks deserve a mention too -- strong, balanced, and crafted with some care instead of just being poured together. Service was attentive without being over the top, which we both appreciated. It does get loud, so if you're looking for a quiet dinner this might not be the place, but the energy and atmosphere make it fun. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, it's definitely a spot we'll be coming back to often.

I couldn't remember the name of the place, but we found it: The Fish Peddler! We must have arrived at a perfect interval because there was a table for two that had just been bussed and ready for us near the large counter in the back where food was collected by servers and presented to hungry patrons at any of the 30-40 tables. Our server was genuinely warm and delightful and guided us to the menu and the on-line beer on tap information. Drinks were ordered and delivered in minutes - just enough time for us to announce our selections: A 3-piece halibut and chips for her, and for me, the albacore tuna with spring greens and gouda cheese on sourdough with a pint of I'm Not Afraid Of Music. It had the lowest alcohol content, and since I was driving, didn't want to push my luck. When our huge white dinner plates arrived - oh - did I mention the amazing jalapeño coleslaw? - we were amazed at the size of the perfectly deep fried halibut - which, on their own, provide a good bite, making only a smitten of tartar sauce necessary because you gotta have tartar sauce with fried fish, after all, right? I picked up one my sandwich haves and removed the toothpick with too much gusto and suffered a small splinter that I couldn't remove until I got home a couple of hours later with the help of a magnifying glass, a tweezer and some masking tape. But I ignored the splinter while I enjoyed my "this is NOT your mom's - or HER mom's - Tuna melt". The perfect balance of the albacore spread with the gouda showing up gloriously in almost every bite, the pillowy and cool greens and tomato slice that balanced the heat from the albacore between the two lightly toasted sourdough was my Valentine's Day gift to my mouth. We were stuffed, but not defeated - we ordered our cheesecake to go, and I get to have the last piece of halibut for a snack later on! It was great getting re-acquainted with This cozy, fun, busy restaurant since our last (and first) visit 3 years ago. My only regret is that for some unknown but surely inexcusable reason, I had waited three years before returning. Won't happen again.

This isn't fancy, but it's just a good seafood place for friends, business or families.

Pros: - Our server was very sweet and came off as genuine! - The cocktails were really good! - The ambiance was nice! Cons: - Service was very clumsy, overall. - We came in on an averagely busy night (nice weather, but on a Tuesday - lots of open tables). Right off the bat, the greeters were not focused. We asked for a table for a party of two, and we found ourselves waiting there with no communication from them that they were working on seating us - basically they went back to chatting with each other. I had to go back and ask a few minutes later if they were planning on seating us before we got an "oh yeah, sorry one sec". Meanwhile they were joking around with each other. I truly am all for having a good time at work, but it wasn't clear that they were focused on us. I'm willing to believe they were working on it, but at the end of the day we were left guessing. - Our food took a pretty long time to get out, again compared to the fact that it was relatively slow. - Not gonna lie, the food was mid. I think I have realistic standards, but this is a relatively high-budget menu so I was expecting a little more. I'll end by saying, I'm not a serial negative reviewer. I wouldn't have left this review if the bill wasn't as pricey as it was. I believe that people are good, but the processes behind this place were rough.

Back before it was sold, my dad would come in, sit at the table, and instantly a Manhattan was placed in front of him. That wonderful, old-type service. The new owners have been around for a while and did a wonderful refresh on the property. They kept a lot of the household favorites on the menu -- mine being the shucked and sautéed crab legs. Extremely decadent and pricey, but well worth it. Anytime you're wanting to come for a birthday or a special event, I highly recommend this dish. If you're coming by yourself or just as a table of two, try getting a table in the bar. It's intimate and cozy, and probably only seats 20 people. Today was supposed to be a quick, light stop after work: shrimp cocktail, a couple drinks, and some time in the old Harbor Lights bar. Walking in, I was immediately reminded of one of my biggest frustrations with this space. Yes, it's small--but the outdated tables and chairs make it far too easy for people to block the walkways. And when those walkways are filled with loud, inappropriate, "stuck-in-1976" commentary from intoxicated older men acting like they're still in their 20s, it makes navigating the room even more uncomfortable. At one point, we were stuck sitting there listening to them loudly joke about having female urologists and proctologists--one word: GROSS. Speaking up doesn't feel like a safe or worthwhile option--it just escalates things. The bar could absolutely keep its charm while still evolving into a more comfortable, modern, and inclusive space. Then there's the menu situation--multiple menus stacked in front of you like a paper shuffle. It's unnecessary and could easily be streamlined. Now, the drinks... this is where things really fell off. Harbor Lights used to be known for strong drinks--that reputation feels long gone. I ordered a vodka-based drink and it went down like juice--no taste, no kick, nothing. When I asked for a double on the second round, the bartender laughed and said all their drinks are doubles and that they don't measure, claiming there was 2 1/2 oz of liquor in it. We watched him make it: no measuring, just a free pour over ice, stopping well short of the top, then filling it with rhubarb-strawberry purée. When it arrived, it felt more dropped on the table than served. I gave it a fair shot--a big sip--and again... no vodka taste whatsoever. No burn, no effect. I know my liquor, and this didn't add up. It really makes you question what's actually being poured. And then... the shrimp cocktail. How do you mess this up? This was the one thing I could always count on. It's always been unique and consistently good--but this time? Way too much horseradish. Completely threw off the balance. I still ate it, but it was not the same experience at all. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the uncomfortable atmosphere, lackluster drinks, and a once-reliable favorite falling short, Harbor Lights just isn't what it used to be.
