The reason for only 4 stars is that I booked the moving appointment 3 weeks in advance with a lady in the office. I was given a specific date and time but on the day, no one showed up. I called and the lady claimed that she didn't know about my appointment! How weird, unecessary and stressful. Thankfully, another lady there named Tiffany was very helpful and arranged for 2 guys to do the move that afternoon. Bottom line, if you want to use LTD, be sure to check, double-check and triple-check that you indeed have a moving appointment with them.

A friend recommended I try Morningstar Storage, so I decided to give them a chance. When I got there I was welcomed by Ashanti, who poor thing was about to take her lunch! Had I not been in such a hurry I would have come back at a later time, but I truly needed to unload my car! She was so gracious about the inconvenience, and took real good care of me! Showed me a few options for different sizes so I could the right one! Walked me through the rates that happened to be great as they currently have specials on all of their units! She got me all signed up, and out the door in record time! I even offered to get her her lunch for cutting into her lunch time and even though she declined I appreciate how efficient she was! I highly recommend, this storage facility, they are climate controlled and offer insurance! Keep in mind you do need to pay for admin fess and potentially a lock, so don't get sticker shocked on your first months rent! It should be a one time thing so don't worry! You have 24/7 access as they provide gate codes for you! Go pay Ashanti a visit and get yourself a nice clean storage unit!

Climate control works and I never feel unsafe going here even at night knowing that I'm on camera and everything is gated. They have several different size units from ones you can fit RVs inside to the small ones with offices where you can run your small business they also have climate controlled and not climate controlled to meet your needs when I found them. They were the best price in the area and I randomly check to make sure that I'm not missing a deal somewhere else and they still continue to beat everyone in the area.

The crew he hired in Chicago were horrible. They broke things. I watched them drop my dresser from Century Furniture, from the tailgate to the concrete, busting the frame. They left the four pollsters and metal frame from the bed on the side of our garage in the rain! A sleep number bed frame was not installed in our bedroom, as promised and the bedframe was broken and left in our room. Our dining room table top, from ART Furniture, had 10 additional screws and bolts that were never installed making the 84" top unusable. So many other small issues too many to list. I left cash on the kitchen counter with my husbands IS and car keys which was next to the refrigerator where I told them to help themselves to the drinks inside. They helped themselves to the $240 in cash instead. My mistake to leave it there. Dawda had promised reimbursement for the repairs and replacements but has never come through. He offered a very small amount to us (from the insurance I'm sure) but nothing in reimbursement for the other items to be repaired and replaced. A big talker but never follows through. This has gone on for 2 months and I am done. THIS US WHY HE DEMANDS PAYMENT IN FULL BEFORE THEY BRING YOUR ITEMS INTO THE HOUSE!! Stay clear of him.

No real apology -- just an offer of one free hour to make up for it. Fine. I accepted that and moved forward. The move ended up taking 3.5 hours total. With the one free hour applied, I should have only been charged for 2.5 hours. Based on their rate, my total should have come out to around $560. Instead, they tried to charge me $900 -- nearly double what I actually owed. When I calmly explained the math and reminded them of the free hour they promised, they went back and forth with me repeatedly and refused to honor their own word. It got so out of hand that I had to call the police, because at that point they were simply trying to take money that wasn't owed. To make matters worse, I even had documentation to back me up -- I received a call from the office confirming that the job wouldn't start until noon due to them being 3 hours late. Despite that, the crew still tried to collect the inflated amount. This was exhausting, frustrating, and completely unprofessional. I genuinely hope this is not how they do business with everyone, and I pray they learn from this experience. But based on what I went through, I cannot recommend The Great Movers to anyone. Update: Miguel, I appreciate the response, but respectfully, several of your claims do not accurately reflect what happened that day, and I feel it's important to set the record straight for anyone reading this. On the delay being "approximately one hour" -- not three: This is simply false. I received a call directly from your office confirming that the job would not begin until noon -- which was exactly 3 hours past the originally scheduled start time. This was not my interpretation; it was communicated to me by your own company. I have documentation of that call. That's not "approximately one hour." On the "multiple apologies" and communication: Acknowledging a delay is not the same as making it right. Your crew arriving late and then fighting me over the bill is not how you demonstrate good customer service -- regardless of how many times the word "sorry" was said. On sending an extra crew member "at no extra cost": I never asked for an extra crew member. That decision was made on your end -- likely to try to finish faster after arriving hours late. Sending an unagreed-upon additional crew member and then citing it as a goodwill gesture is not a concession I requested or benefited from in a way that justifies a billing dispute. On the "$448 discount" and charging only the "2-hour minimum": Here is where the math really matters. The move lasted 3.5 hours total. Your crew arrived 3 hours late, and your office offered one free hour as compensation. With that free hour applied, I should have owed for 2.5 hours at your agreed rate -- which came out to approximately $560. Your crew attempted to collect $900. That is not a discount -- that is an overcharge that I had to call law enforcement to resolve. The fact that it eventually got adjusted does not erase the fact that your crew stood at my door demanding nearly $340 more than what was owed and refused to honor the agreement your own office made. On helping with a U-Haul as a "courtesy": If your crew assisted with a U-Haul beyond the original scope, that was a choice made in the moment -- not something I requested or negotiated. That should not be used retroactively to justify billing issues or to reframe the narrative of what happened. Bottom line: I came prepared with documentation. I stayed calm. I did the math out loud. And I still had to involve the police to resolve a billing dispute with a moving company. That is not a standard customer experience -- that is a serious failure in professionalism and integrity.
