OMG - this pizza is amazing! We just found our new favorite pizza place to go to! Honestly, just came to try the butter chicken pizza, as it's trending on TikTok - OH BOY, were we surprised - absolutely love their "pies" (square pizzas), the crust and sides are yummy and crunchy, the bread feels light and airy, like eating focaccia bread. The only negative was that the pizzas were dry, they definitely need more sauce!! Customer service is on point from the moment you walk in, all the guys are ready and willing to take your order! Love that they sell pizza by the slice and that this venue has an outside patio area, where you can sit and enjoy your pizza. Definitely worth a drive, looking forward to coming back!

The pizza was BURNT ! The sauce was so-so. The crust wasn't bad. The help was fine. Kind of bright and uncomfortable for sitting. Not much parking. ^^^ Three Carrots

I've heard nothing but rave reviews from friends and family about Prime pizza and had to give it a shot. They're mainly known for deep dish but to me the real winner was the regular pie. The bbq pizza was flavorful and I loved the addition of the jalapeños for that extra kick of spice. Their deep dish was okay. I ordered the cheese bc the other option had meats I don't eat and they don't do substitutes for the square pies. Nonetheless, service was great and the pizza was good.

I think Prime Pizza is the best New York style pizza you can get in the LA area. The pizza is really crispy, and they offer both round and square pies. You can order by the slice or get a whole pizza. My go to slices are the spicy pepperoni, classic cheese, and pepperoni. The hoagie is also very good and worth trying. The parking lot itself is small, but street parking is easy and usually not a far walk. Beyond the food, this location feels very community driven. You can really see it with Pasadena and Altadena merch being sold and the overall neighborhood vibe from the people here. Seating is outdoor only in a patio setup, and they have a big TV outside where they show sports, which adds to the experience. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to.

Prime Pizza is a very casual and delicious restaurant. The corner it's on is a little wonky but I think it actually adds to the charm. Parking is usually easy for me to find and then you walk past the patio into the establishment. The staff is always very friendly and the service is quick, both to take your order and to receive your heated up slice. Regarding the pizza, the slices are a generous size and the crust is perfectly crisp. I'm vegetarian and they have ample options at the counter, you can also customize pizzas if you want a different combination for a large pizza, I really enjoy the Sicilian because the pesto is so delicious!

Good crust, it hangs like a proper NY slice

Seen Prime pop up in all the delivery apps as well as Yelp, but never really thought too much about it cause it looked like any other pizza spot. My favorite is NY-style pizza and I haven't found a good one here... however, Prime is it! They're located up Allen Ave in Altadena and comes with a tiny parking lot. I ordered a pepperoni pie with sausage on half and fresh jalapeños and pineapple on the other. Seriously, I thought it was crazy (bad) too until I tried that combo--it's bomb af with a drizzle of hot honey. The crust was chewy in a good way and still pretty crusty after delivery. I wish burrata was an option but I'll add that myself next time. The slice hung almost exactly like the one I got from Joe's in NY, and say what you want about Joe's, I love it! I'll definitely return for my pizza fix.

Came here with a large group on a Sunday right when they opened. There was plenty of room for everyone and the 3 dogs and stroller we had with us, the patio gives a great vibe. Our group of 7 adults ordered 3 pizzas and we took 1 pizza worth of leftovers home. The garlic knots were incredible, the best thing we ate. The (round) pizzas were pretty good, not my favorite NY style pizza in the area but the flavors were fun and nothing was "bad." I've had the square pizzas from Prime before and they were way better, I'd stick with those in the future. I was really surprised by how affordable the beers were, $6 for a tall can of IPA is really reasonable. I gotta say this place has the BEST ranch I've ever had, its full of fresh herbs oh my gosh it's amazing!! I recommend coming here for a chill vibe with a larger group.

I was around Altadena and noticed this pizza spot with a steady flow of people coming in and out. I love supporting restaurants that were impacted by the Altadena fire, and this place definitely did not disappoint. We tried the following items: Spicy Pepperoni Pizza - Square-style Sicilian pizza done right. Not overly doughy, just the perfect thickness. The pepperoni had those crispy oil cups that add so much flavor. Rich, filling, and delicious, one slice was enough to fill me up. (4.5/5) Baked Bolognese - Simple but packed with flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the baked top had a nice char that added depth. Comfort food done well. (4.5/5) Chicken Chopped Salad - Loaded with ingredients and very well balanced. Honestly one of the better salads I've had, great flavor and a really good dressing. (5/5) I'm glad this place made it through the 2025 fire because the food is still hitting. It was pretty packed for Sunday lunch, but people ate quickly and moved on, so turnover was fast. Definitely worth a visit. Parking: Small lot on site, may need to wait if it's full.

So happy I found this place! As a New Yorker living in LA I'm always searching for good pizza and this was a good alternative. It isn't quite the same as NY but it gets the job done. Slices are pretty pricey but their pie prices are very reasonable. We ended up getting the pie and saved half for leftovers. Great move because it tasted even better reheated on a pan - gets super crispy. The square slice wasn't for me but my partner enjoyed it. A little on the dry side for my taste. They forgot to give us the square slice until we asked about it but they seem to have takeout down to a T. Everyone was very nice!

Walking from the street towards the store, there was the undeniable smell of fresh pizza being made, which got us excited. Walking in, you get a very old brick and mortar vibe for a classic pizza restaurant. It got me excited to try. Service was okay. As for the food itself, I'm reluctant to say, but I was unfortunately disappointing. The pizza were inconsistent and none of them really gave me the wow factor. The pepperoni slice definitely had the best texture, definitely underdone undercarriage but the best one by far, it had a nice bite on each bite and the crust. For me personally, and this goes for all the slices, I wasn't a fan of the to tomato sauce. It was just too sweet for me. I would say the Sicilian had a nice flavor and potential, but that potential couldn't be met because again, the pizza was not reheated enough. The dough wasn't airy and the bites had a rather boring texture and taste. The edges were nice though. Last, the cheese was not good. The cheese on the pep was better. It was the same style slice but the dough was very chewy and too thick. It didn't have a nice bite to it and rather boring chewy texture.

Heard Prime Pizza was making its way down to South Orange County, so while I was up in L.A., I figured I'd give it a try. Glad I did. I grabbed one slice of the Sicilian -- thick, crispy, and loaded with flavor. You get that golden crunch on the edges, soft center, and a nice hit of pesto and sauce in every bite. Honestly, it was better than I expected for a single slice on the go. The crew behind the counter was friendly, the place had a chill local vibe, and they were cranking out pies nonstop. If the new OC location tastes anything like this, we're in for a treat. I'll be first in line when they open. Please come to HB - we need ya here!

Genuinely good pizza spot. We went with a large Sicilian spicy pepperoni and a few single slices to change it up.The quality of the ingredients used is evident and justifies the reasonable pricing. A quick note- the pepperoni pizza has a nice flavorful spice that really stands out. The restaurant also offers a nice outdoor patio to enjoy a slice, making the experience casual and relaxing. The staff was great and very friendly.

The slices I got were a bit high on salt and low on cheese for my liking, but the flavor was great and I love supporting a local Altadena business like this with great pizza. Loved the churro bites too! I love the dog friendly patio and ease of parking.

Immediately we realized we had found a gem. The food is simple, pure and honest. We imagined a future visiting sitting with an order of these smelts and a few beers watching a proper Serie A Fútbol match. After an impulsive order of fresh pita bread(highly recommended) our main courses arrived. Grilled branzino and the Lamb shank. These dishes elevated to a simple perfection with the complex flavors of dried fruit, almonds and couscous accompanying a confidently prepared lamb. A robust California Cabernet provided the perfect compliment to this old world classic. The branzino was glazed and touched respectfully with lemon and grilled to a perfect gentle shimmer. Very unique and good, I look forward to replicating at home with a little more balsamic. I ordered the Settebello $21 pizza as a main entree of which I thought was advertised with pancetta, mushrooms and Italian sausage. Pizza came out hot and fresh, but with prosciutto instead of the perceived menu listed pancetta. Pizza sauce was good, the sausage and mushrooms were great. Crust was a little doughy, not crispy but charcoal charred in places. Not phenomenal but not bad, middle of the road overall. Service started off great but fell flat to the floor.
