I continue to come after she passed i had an eye emergency and reached out to them.Yesterday and they were able to give me a 1015 appointment, and I was very grateful for that. Arrived early and was ready to go. At 11am i told them as I told them on the phone I need to leave by 1130 to pick up my granddaughter, as she has half day. Oh, we're not going to be able to get you in. Completely unprofessional dismissive, rude, condescending and zero value for being such a longtime client. I would rather go to lenscrafters then, ever have to deal with these morons again, completely unprofessional. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Terrible PLACE: I received my contacts today and they are literally the same damn prescription, I had over 2 years. Am 52 and know for a fact my left eye change. The doctor asked what I was using and if I can show him, which I had. So upset I received no proper eye care or corrective services They literally kept the same prescription.... They sent me out with a poor prescription for my refraction. I had glasses made up based on it which were useless and ended up having a new reading at another office. I have been visiting Prime Eye Care Phoenix location and seeing Karly Baier for the last few years. She is great and very thorough with her examination and communication. I do not like about Prime Eye Care the length of time they get you to wait inside a closed-door room for the Optometrist. The parking lot is huge; however, most unoccupied spaces have a sign that says Reserved and the handicap spaces are just a few and all taken. Avoid calling them I have called 3 and 4 times in one day and always was put on hold for at least 5 minutes or more. read more

I've had really good service and I've had really poor service with long wait times. The gentleman who helps you pick out your glasses is great. The optometrist made me wait an hour. My biggest gripe is that my glasses frame broke, and they're under the 1 year warranty so they will be replaced for free. But I have to schedule a week out to come in to get them, for what is a 5min procedure of popping our my lenses and putting them back in. This is ridiculous. The receptionist was nice and remorseful but that's the policy. I have to wait a week with my broken glasses because their management has made poor decisions under the guise of Covid safety (we can wear masks and you can pop my lenses in!). read more

You would think those in the medical profession would adhere to CDC guidelines and get vaccinated for covid. I was scheduled for my long delayed eye exam. Because I have lung disease, once I was closeted in a small room for initial testing with a technician in close proximity I thought to ask if she was vaccinated. She was not and got mad when I asked for someone who was vaccinated. I was informed none of the staff are vaccinated. They have exercised their right to not get vaccinated. I've been going to this office since it opened 20 years ago. Over the years different names and staff, but most of the time consistently Dr. Smith. Now my husband and my young daughter see Dr. Smith too. I think I got glasses there once and contacts a few times (no good or bad memories). I just go to have a true professional check out my eyes since I've had glasses since I was 9 and my eyesight is very important to me. Head up if you use insurance, but don't plan to use Prime for your glass purchase - LET THEM KNOW when you check out. Otherwise, a hold was placed when they confirmed your insurance coverage for the exam which delays you purchasing someplace else. read more

The only reason I walked into this office was because our insurance didn't cover our last eye doctor. I would not take my kids in here ever again or myself. I took my son in for an exam and the doctor got annoyed right away and had absolutely no patience for him. I was super annoyed and didn't even bother getting him glasses as I felt he wasn't thorough with the exam. I'd recommend you look somewhere else. I have been going to Estrella Eye Care it's further but definitely worth the drive since they were very patient with our son and have been nice to us for a few years now. read more

I went in yesterday for my 1st ever eye exam. Yeah, I know that's pretty bad since I'm 27 and stare at computer monitors all day long for a living but hey you're not my mother so quit judging me. Geez. Back to my review :) I made an appointment with Prime Eye Care about three weeks ago. Bringing me to disappointment #1: I received no reminder call saying "Hey your appt is tomorrow, blah blah blah". Now I know it's MY appointment and they may have been busy but isn't it sort of the front desk persons job to call patients and remind them of scheduled appointments. Not such a big deal though. So, moving on. Disappointment #2: The doctor had NO people skills at all. He just wanted to get this over with. I told him this was my 1st ever eye exam you'd think he'd at least let me know what's going on before sticking this and that in my eye. But no. All I got was a sit still, open your eyes, look up. I mean come on dude YOU'RE STICKING A FREAKIN LIGHT IN MY EYE. At least give a girl a heads up and all. It just would have been nice to have a little warning like "Hey, I'm going to have you look all over the place while I stick this uncomfortable rather bright light in your eye, do your best to stay as still as possible and keep your eyes open". But no I received nothing of the sort. Then he puts these drops in my eyes and has me sit out in the waiting room. I had no idea why, so as I'm sitting there and my eyes begin to feel more and more awkward, I start to freak out a little. "Is this whats suppose to happen? Why can't I see? Oh no something's wrong". After being ushered to another exam room I come to find out that all that is normal, it's actually what was expected to happen. Thanks for the HEADS UP DOC. So then the doc comes back in with another damn light to stick in my eyes. Then he rambles off all this technical eye jargon that pretty much left me with a big fat "HUH". But I think I got the gist of it. So now brings me to the disappointment #3 (the big one): I go to the front desk, pay my copay, no big deal then the front desk gentleman asked me if I had sunglasses, to which my reply was yes in the car. That was it. Nothing else. I had NO IDEA until I stepped out into the Arizona sun, scratch that the Arizona HOT BRIGHT AS HELL sun, to figure out why the gentleman asked me if I has sunglasses. Oh my god! A little warning that it was going to feel and look as though I was WALKING ON THE SUN would have been nice. I mean come on people! I couldn't see a damn thing until I got all the way back to my car and put my sunglasses on. My eyes were dilated for the next few hours, which would have also been nice to have been told about. I wouldn't have tried to go back to work had I know that little tid bit of info. I gave a two because all in all, I got my eye exam over with so that was good. The doctor seemed like he knew what he was doing, so that was good. The office itself was rather nice looking. And I'm in a good mood this morning. I'm just used to a more friendly office visit. I wish they would have just talked to me is all. Is that too much to ask for? read more

This is not a good place to go for your vision. I was having blurred vision while teaching online. I booked an appointment months ago to get checked out. I was having awful headaches and knew my prescription was not strong enough. I saw Dr. Chen. He reviewed my prescription and said it was too strong (I literally could not see in those glasses. They were progressives and I have to strain to use only the strong portion). He told me I needed MILD 1.25 readers. I ordered some and still can't see. I have daily headaches as I am an English teacher and always reading and looking at the computer. I finally went to a different eye doctor. One that spends time with patients and does their job. I not only need a much stronger prescription than my original progressives BUT I also have a stigmatism that went undiagnosed. Go somewhere else. I spent money on glasses only to have them be useless. My headaches are constant. I have no eye diseases. I have nothing wrong except for the wrong prescription. read more

(1) Made an appointment for a contact lens exam, but was not told there is a $75 contact fitting fee (which my insurance does not cover). Of course, I didn't need to be "fitted" for contacts; I have worn them for more than a decade. (2) Dr. was fast to the point of abrupt. (3) "No guns" sign on the front door. While I am sure that keeps the criminals away, I do not patronize businesses that impose irrational limitations on their law-abiding customer's constitutional rights. I won't be returning. I was looking for an optometrist close to home covered by my insurance and came across Prime Eye Care. I was hoping for a practice that was more focused on eye health than on selling glasses and I was in luck. I saw Dr. Klepfisz this morning and I was extremely pleased with the visit. The office staff was very friendly, I only waited a few minutes for my appointment, and the doctor performed a very thorough eye exam in a very professional and friendly manner. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a new eye doctor in central Phoenix for your annual exam. I'll be making appointments for the rest of my family and returning myself next year for my annual exam. read more

This is the only eye doctor I have ever been to that has explained my benefits without any confusion! I've been coming here for years bc Dr Smith is so thorough. His exams do last a while but that's bc of the in depth medical exam he provides. They have remodeled their office and staff and is now running better than ever. The opticians are friendly and help you get glasses you need without adding costs that you don't need. There are no surprises in terms of cost for exams or contact lenses. If you want a quick RX for contacts or glasses, this may not be the place for you. Here you are going to get a full medical eye exam and the best RX. You only get one set of eyes in your lifetime and I wouldn't trust anyone else with mine. read more

I really like that every time I have my annual exam I have the same optometrist, Dr. Smith. It allows for relationship building and the staff is consistent as well. I never have a long wait and they help me maximize my VSP coverage. Ive has a couple eye emergencies over the years and they always work me in the schedule. Dr. Christopher Heetland and the staff at Prime Eye Care were very helpful when I was in dire need of new glasses. I knew it was time for a checkup when I was having trouble reading the clock at work on the far wall while wearing my old glasses. Based on the recommendation of a friend, I decided to make an appointment. Pure procrastination had prevented me from finding a new eye doctor after moving here. Fortunately, I was able to get in quickly (about a week from the day I made the appointment) and my glasses were ready in just over a week. I don't have a very strong prescription so that may have had something to do with the quick turn around time. The optician was great! She helped me pick out a style that was a little more flattering than my previous glasses. She was able to get my glasses to rest comfortably on my nose. I couldn't believe the difference three years had made in my vision and for the first week, I was prone to bouts of running around sporadically shouting "I CAN SEE!" A knowledgeable staff and quick turn around times made Prime Eye Care a good experience all around. I'll be back later this year for my annual eye check-up. read more

My experience at this vision center was top notch. I could not be happier with the care that I received, both from the physician, and from the extraordinarily helpful staff! This visit was stressful for me, as I knew I needed bifocals/progressives for the first time, and I was very happy with the kindness and sensitivity the staff showed to this reality of aging. They sent me a text message the day before my appt with the time, address and phone number to remind me to come in. I was seen within 10 Minutes of my appt time. I was particularly impressed with my optometrist, Dr. Klepfisz, he was very professional and knowledgeable, and immediately established great rapport. He was thorough about what was going to happen and why. I hate eye exams and flinch a lot, he was very patient with me, and managed my squirming as with gentle firmness. I usually kind of panic and this exam went better than most. Thanks, Doc! I was also very pleased with the selection of frames, it was clear that the staff was very familiar with their inventory and gave me lots of helpful feedback on what looks good on me. When I initially selected a frame, they were very helpful in selecting several different frames that had the elements I was looking for, but were much more flattering on my face. My biggest problem was that soon I had too many great options to choose from, and narrowing it down to just one was the hardest part of my visit. They were very patient, and offered tons of feedback. In the end, I got exactly what I was looking for. On my way out I got a pair of disposable dark glasses so my eyes wouldn't be agog when I stepped outside. Absolutely recommend! read more

Overall good experience Dr smith was very nice and knowledgable and appt was easy to make online which I liked! Front desk was a little hectic, as the day I went they were unexpectedly understaffed they explained. (not really their fault if someone called off though) they seemed a little flustered (which is kind of expect being short staffed) so a little patience was required on my end. Was there for over two hours from start to finish, but all in all it was a great experience and I will return next year when I'm due again! :) read more

I called late Tuesday evening, since I had never used, them, had questions about the cost of contacts etc, the first young lady diligently answered my insurance questions, when I asked, about what would glasses cost, I was immediately put on hold, and transferred, a woman with a very gruff voice answered the phone, ( it could have been a man), he /she was like OPTPMERRTIST!, I was huh?, WHAT DO YOU WANT?, Stunned I answered , trying to make an apt, immediately, a beep then the first young lady answered, she said she transferred me to the other thing that answered, I asked did you explain, that I had questions about cost of glasses, she said yes, but I WAS UNCONVINCED, So I responded , I don't think this is the eyecare place for, me and That I was going to ask my Dr, for a different recommendation, in central phoenix, her response was oh, ok!, bye,, we hung up, then I re dialed immediately to say say , discard my info, and it rang into oblivion,, to voicemail, I was like oh, that ODD, then I looked at the time 4 :59 pm, Then I UNDERSTOOOD, why the beast rushed me off the phone...QUITTING TIME... When I made an appointment for an exam to update my contact prescription, I told the staff I would pay cash for my visit and contacts. Nevertheless, staff made copies of my medical insurance card for their files. The day before my appointment they called to say that under my medical insurance they could not see me without a referral from my primary care physician (PCP). I reminded them I would be paying out-of-pocket, I did not want to use insurance to pay for this exam, and said my PCP would never "refer" me for a regular eye exam. They refused to see me without a referral and canceled my appointment. Friendly staff initially, but they clearly have no understanding of cash pay vs. billing insurance. Costco Optical was happy to accept my money and give me the prescription I needed. read more

I had a mediocre experience here; it was not bad but definitely not great. I felt that I almost inconvenienced the staff at times for being there. It was a later appointment and I assume they wanted to go home soon but by no means was it closing time. I had an odd experience with my contact prescription to where the doctor gave me my prescription but said that one of the numbers for the shape of my eye may not be correct and I should go check out the box of contacts I had at home to make sure the numbers were the same... I found that odd as he just did an exam and he is an eye doctor... nonetheless I found that the numbers were different and called back months later to let them know as I needed my prescription and I was told that there were not notes indicating that number could be off and if I wanted to amend the prescription I needed to make a new appointment.. All I heard was that they did not believe me and I had to pay for yet another appointment that my insurance company would not cover as it was the second trip in a year.. To sum it up the staff was fairly nice and the doctor seemed to know what he was talking about for the most part. I am in the process of finding a new eye doctor as I got a weird vibe from this place. read more

I'm giving Prime Eye Care (Phoenix) one star just to be able to write review. I never saw the doc because I choose to leave before I was even in the exam room. I don't like waiting in doctors offices beyond my appointment times which is the reason I made the first appointment in the morning (8am) and arrived at approximately 7:50am. The lady tech who has to do the initial exam before you see the doc got there shortly AFTER 8am. When the front desk staff told her that the first appointment was there, she walked by the desk, past me and two other people sitting in the waiting area and without looking back announced "yea, after I clean off the tornado on my desk". I understand there may be traffic problems, car problems etc. but... come on.... not even a look or perhaps "I'll be right with you". I waited about ten minutes during which time I heard her chatting with someone in her office about her trip to Disney Great Adventure. I checked with the desk to be sure my appointment was at 8am (it was) and then let them know I was leaving. I was then called in for my exam by the tech. I still left. The only positive note I can make is that perhaps my leaving will allow those also waiting for an exam to be seen on time. Sure....I hate to wait.... but the totally unprofessional attitude of the staff member is the main reason I left. Any business that provides a service yet considers their time to be more important then mine is one I will not use. read more

I was completely dissatisfied with Prime Eye Care. I made an appointment for contacts and glasses. When the exam was completed they stated that they did not do the exam for contacts. The new patient paperwork nor doctor never asked at the time of exam, they stated they assume since I was wearing glasses I just wanted glasses, not contacts. I had to reschedule another exam for the following week. At that exam they told me a contact fitting would cost me $200.00 on top of my insurance. This was never told to me prior to my 2nd exam. Needless I would NOT RECOMMEND PRIME EYE CARE. At my 2nd visit I walked out and never even ordered - i went to Target Optical. read more

I am giving this practice one star because there is nothing lower. I called here and gave my insurance info and was told no co pay and everything was covered I was so happy what good news and even better they could get me in right away. The doctor ( I use the term loosely) a small man with a bad attitude and a chip on his shoulder. He did a routine exam dilated my eyes and told me he could not do the tests that required my eyes to be dilated, if I wanted these tests it would be $85 for one test and $45 for the other. When I asked him to just write me a new prescription so I could get my glasses, he told me no I needed the tests first. I am not sure why I was given an appointment nothing was accomplished and when I questioned this he talked to me like I was an idiot in front of everyone in the office. I was so angry when I left the office I decided to write a review so I could warn anybody who might make the mistake of booking an appointment here. read more

I went to this place twice. Things seemed to be fine until I kept getting calls from a collection agency because apparently I owed a $70 balance at Prime Eye Care. I always paid my balance and never got a billing for the amount. Before I was called by the agency, it had been less than a year since my last visit. After I paid the balance to the collections agency, I got a call from Prime Eye asking me if I wanted to set an appointment because it had been a long time since I had visited them! I could not believe it. I called back and ask them to remove me from their listing. Ha! They certainly didn't. I just got a call from them saying the same stuff. WTF! They obviously had my phone number and never called to let me know I owed anything! Now, they call me because they want my business! Needless to say, I will not be back to see them. Taking the time to actually find a reputable establishment is worth much more than going back to Prime and then spending days worrying about what I apparently owe, which I would be happy to pay. So, yes, I give this place a star. There is no added value at all. read more
