The waiter immediately brought us chips, salsa, and water and kept checking with us if we needed anything. My Cadillac Margarita was fantastic asked if they would make a Mexican coffee with Tequila and Kahlua and they made it perfect! The food was delicious and was a very pleasant dining experience. We will be back soon. read more

Worst service ever!! No chips with appetizers, Promised refill never came.. no follow up with server except to deliver the bill!! Won't be back! read more

Service was ok. Food came fast. My lunch was very bland. No taste it was also cold. Waitress came back told her cold she took it out in microwave and that made it soggy. Won't return read more

First visit to Prima's and we will definitely go back. The service was great! Tasha was our waitress and was very friendly and attentive. Chips and salsa were good and also had the spicier salsa. Had the lunch brisket tacos and they were very flavorful, served with beans and rice. Had a regular margarita and it was good (I've had better though). Husband had the prima burrito with chicken and he said it was great. Prices were very good too!:) read more

The food was OK. The service was excellent but when the bill came there were 2 different amounts one. If I wanted to pay cash and the other if I was to pay withe credit card? No I know hes had to raise his prices just because of the pandemic but to raise prices plus charge you more to use your credit card. It's not gonna be in my future with eating at this establishment. read more

Decent place, decent atmosphere, pretty good food. Lots and lots of staff. Maybe even too much. A lot of them were just hanging around talking to each other, but whatever. I would definitely go there again. Our waiter was extremely nice and very very helpful. It's worth a try if you're hungry. read more

Service took forever when the restaurant was empty compared to the capacity of the restaurant. Employees were behind the bar talking about inappropriate, stuff. Food was not what I ordered but I get scared to talk to the waitress so I make yelp review. read more

Sad excuse for a Mexican restaurant. A "Mexican" version of the heritage cafeteria. The salsa was like watered down tomato paste. Taco Bell is more authentic. read more

Last Friday night, September 11, my husband and I were again surprised as well as delighted with the service our waitress Debbie gave us. She made recommendations on appetizers and full course meals. We tried everything she suggested and were very pleased. Debbie was so upbeat, funny and very professional. Thank you Debbie! The Glenstone location is our very favorite go to Mexican Restaurant! Thank you, Darrell and Joleah Biellier read more

Awful experience. Ordered guacamole with our chips and salsa, and the guacamole came before drinks & chips (waters). Food was very bland, and margarita was nothing but syrup. Lastly, we got charged a "no cash" fee, for using our credit card. Horrible! read more

We love the Chips, Queso and salsa at Primas. The chips are the best we've ever had anywhere if you like like thin crispy chips. Very good.

Our experiences at Primas have always been good. The quality of the food is consistent and the service is great. Cileena took care of us on our last visit and her attention to our needs was outstanding. read more

With all due respect to earlier reviewers, I have to rate Prima's very highly. Our party partook in three different entrées (smothered carnitas, carne guisada, and mine--asada tacos). All three meals were delicious, none lacking in seasoning at all. They give you a choice of refried beans too. I ordered the black bean version, which had a savory flavor. The traditional pinto bean version was equally good. The two salsas--regular and hot--combined very well as well. In conclusion, this location may have had its problems when it started off, but I've been twice in the last month, and both visits were wonderful. Ignore the earlier reviews and give it a try. read more

My family's experience at this Prima's last week (now that I have had a chance to calm down): I took my family out to dinner to one of our favorite places in Springfield due to the nice and covered outdoor seating area. This was a group including my wife and I, our 4 girls and my sister-in-law. The hostess that seated us told us about a special involving a "margarita sampler" which included samples of 8 margaritas for $5. We discussed and decided the 3 adults would each order that and then decide what margaritas we would order from those samples. Our server came out and when we tried to order the sampler she hem hawed around and told us "it would take too long since we were sitting on the patio." We had no plans for after dinner so we were not in a horrible hurry but she continued to try to sway us away from the sampler. So we acquiesced and just ordered a margarita for each of us. Our margaritas came and mine had no salt when I had requested it be rimmed with salt and my sister-in-law's had salt when she requested it not. I kindly informed the server that Mary could easily remove the salt from her drink but I was not really able to put it on mine. She offered to bring me a glass of salt. I asked her how I was supposed to put that on a glass with a margarita already in it and after the blank stare I just resigned myself to a mediocre level of service (maybe she is new) and said "fine, whatever you think is acceptable." She came back with a new drink as originally ordered for me. While all this was going on there were other customers who came in after us and appeared to have no problem ordering the "margarita sampler" while dining on the patio. She eventually came over and took our food orders and an hour later the food came out. Yes, as indicated earlier we were not in a hurry and had no plans for after dinner so an hour was not a major issue for us but appended onto the service we had experienced so far we were certainly not impressed and this was nowhere near the service we were used to at this venue. Then when you factor in that I ordered fajita nachos with steak and I was served fajita nachos with chicken, the sides on the meals for my youngest two were mixed up and the server stood tableside and replated the fries and the applesauce right there on the patio, and my sister-in-law never did get the shells that should have come with her fajitas so she ended up having to make hers into a salad, our experience just plummeted. We let the server know that we were not impressed so she got the on duty manager. He came out and to his credit he apologized profusely, heard us out about our experience so far and said he would personally remake my meal and would bring it out himself shortly. So that was somewhat comforting and the rest of my family continued eating. When the rest of my family was all done, I flagged down our server and asked her to just have the meal I was STILL waiting for to just be put into a togo box since everyone else at the table we done eating and I did not expect them to wait on and watch me eat by myself. Fifteen minutes later my order came out in two togo containers, we paid the bill with a $0.00 tip (I normally tip a minimum of 20% and go up from there). When I got home, I thought my "togo" order was in two containers to keep the 'chips' portion from getting soggy. Alas, the chips were buried under the meat, peppers and onions and the fresh avacado, lettuce and sour cream were in the other container so the chips were all mush and made the entire order unpalatable. Make no mistake, I was not expecting this entire meal to be comped, but I was disappointed the manager thought comping my meal and then taking 10% off the bill was a gesture sincerely intended to elicit customer loyalty. So no, I don't expect to be returning to Prima's again in the foreseeable future and if that is the level of service they provide even at the manager level, I will not be recommending Prima's to anyone else either. I am not looking for anything in return from the restaurant, that time was while we were still at the restaurant. I simply think this should be both a fair warning to other diners and a teachable moment for the restaurant staff. read more

Nice atmosphere, decent prices, good food. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was delicious. Check it out if you haven't.

I'm not a big Mexican food fan but this was pretty good. When we came in, we were seated right away, the restaurant was clean and service was awesome. Just want to thank Airen our waitress for her excellent recommendations, speedy service and friendly but professional attitude. The food was good, correct and served in a timely manner. We had a good experience and I do recommend this establishment. read more

Stopped in just now for the first time on Fathers Day after leaving Buffalo Wild Wings after we were seated and no one ever returned to check on us, given menus, etc. Primas saved the day for us! Had 7 people in our group including 3 which were children. We were promptly seated. Our server (Jillian) was incredible! Food came quickly and everyone got a delicious meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely as well. We will be returning. Thank you for saving our Fathers Day lunch! (Oh - we also got free sopapillas for the holiday!) read more

I really like sitting on the patio. It has ceiling fans so don't worry about melting outside. In terms of food, I'd recommend the chile relleno stuffed with chicken or beef. The queso and guac are worthwhile appetizers. This place isn't awe inspiring, but it's the best restaurant on that side of glenstone. read more

Our meal was very nice. A little bland. The kitchen could season the guacamole and the meats a little more. The rice was over cooked for our taste. The Chios are really light and crunchy. The spicy salsa is very good. Decent service and restaurant was clean read more

okay so I've already left a star review for this joint and Ima do it again. google reviews wouldn't let me write two for whatever reason but I promised M.J ( Michelle J aka Michelle jolly ) that I would let people know how good at her job she is. polite. friendly. anticipatory observations for something like bringing waters and extra napkins without needing to be asked. positive attitude and quick and effective work. if you haven't decided to come for the good drinks and food, come for the wait staff and the cooks and the management who truly in my humble opinion work hard for you to enjoy your time and feel like your money is well spent. this is my public attempt to make sure the staff are being compensated well by the owners of the company as well as the clientele they will be attending to. be nice cause I can assure you that they will be. names Adam an my padre and I come here often and for good reason. this isn't sponsored and I wouldnt want it to be. just want to do right by the folks who work hard to provide a good atmosphere for what little free time people may have that they choose to spend at this establishment. cheers! ask for the banana mango margarita. trust me and yes. patron topper for sure read more

Nothing on their menu lists all ingredients, dangerous if you have food allergies. All of their meat is either steamed or microwaved (Gross and flavorless) Overpriced for such low quality. This is not mexican food, as american as it gets. Wouldn't recommend wasting time or money. read more

Wow is all I can say. I misread their sign and thought that they had a special on avocado tacos- when they found this out they made special ones for me that were absolutely delicious. They just did EVERYTHING that they could to go above and beyond for me and my husband at this restaurant- we will be back! read more

Great food and my favorite server Laura is the best! I love the burritos and enchiladas. Everything they cook is made fresh and come out hot! I love the desserts! Especially the Fried Fiesta. If you need catering, they do a great job with it. I recommend Primas to all my friends and family! read more

Very, very good! Fresh fajitas and plenty of them! Service was fast and friendly--top notch all the way. I will look for this place again next time I go past Springfield. The only slight negative I experienced was the guacamole. It was tasty but had some gray and black...not as fresh as it could be. Altogether, I really enjoyed my meal here. read more

Very disappointed in my experience today. Even the hostess that sat us- zero personality. I had two kids with me, had to ask for kids menus she brought back only one. They messed up my order and then acted like I had done something wrong. Said I ordered something that I didn't. Then, who I assume is the manager, brought out my new plate, ....no one ever apologized. She just had an attitude. The food wasn't as good as it usually is at the Ozark location. Just very disappointed. I won't go back, there are too many other good Mexican places in town. read more

Everything is so fresh and delicious! The bartender is very personable and makes a pretty darn good margarita.

Overpriced. So many other places that are better and cheaper. I didn't like their menu selection either. I don't think I've ever said that about a Mexican restaurant. Good wasn't bad. But when I can order what I actually want for better and cheaper, the star rating becomes lower and lower. read more

A friend and I prefer this Prima's Mexican Grill on Glenstone Ave to the one in Chesterfield Village. When a group of us decided to go to Chesterfield Village after a movie the waitress was rude, tossed our food across the table and didn't bring our meals until both the pates and food was cold, then she never came back except to bring the bill. Never saw the manager the whole time we were there. Prima's on Glenstone is much cleaner and friendlier. The waitresses have never referred to us as "sweetie or honey" which I hate. They are very professional and polite while letting you know new items, specials, etc. A manager seems to always around and visible. read more

It wasn't gross but it was the worst Mexican I've ever had. I'm not picky and I love Mexican but the food had NO flavor. First the chips were good but the salsa was just liquified bland flavorless tomatoes. If there were other ingredients, I couldn't tell. Mild is an understatement. My husband and I both ordered the flautas. Served hot, but tasted like nothing. I asked for their spicy salsa alternative which is salsa verde and pico. Poured it all over my food and added salt and pepper. Still tasted like nothing. Squeezed my lemon from my water over my food, stirred it all up and ate it. Blah. Even though the service was good, the decor was nice, and everything was clean, I'm still giving two stars for flavorless food. Children would probably tolerate it though. read more
