The experience I had at this studio was transformative. Janny is amazing. Her team and students go above and beyond to ensure your overall best experience. From the warm relaxing environment to the precise detail she uses to ensure your brows are perfect !!! It's nothing like I have experienced here in NC!! I'm an original Cali Girl and I am used to a certain level of service. She blew my expectations out of the water. Run don't walk. You owe it to yourself to have the best!!! I had every intention of giving this place a 5 star review. I mean I was that excited about this place. I discovered Pride Beauty Studio from a viral video on FB of a microblading session. I started following them on Facebook (the reviews were all 4 & 5 star) & even started following them on IG and Janny herself on Snapchat. But I didn't want to go straight into a microblading session, because that's a lifetime commitment! So instead I made an appointment online for a New Client - Brow Shape and Tint. This was $50 & I thought to myself, "Damn this is expensive" but her worked looked amazing so I convinced myself that the $50 would be worth it. I received a notification via text that they had to reschedule my appointment due to a "family emergency" the day before my appointment. They asked if I could reschedule. I just happened to be on vacation so it was no problem. The day of my appointment they asked if I could reschedule my time for later that day. Again no problem. I arrived to my appointment and to my SURPRISE - my appointment was not with Janny. When I booked my appointment online, you pick who you want and I had scheduled with Janny. She was there - but working on another client. You bet my reaction was WTF? She said Jessica was actually going to do my brows & asked if that was okay? What was I supposed to do? I had driven 40 minutes to this place, paid already online. Was I just supposed to walk away? They reassured me that Jessica would do a good job and Janny would talk to me about my brows. So Jessica did her work and Janny spoke to me. They asked me lots of questions, basically trying to find the reason for my visit so they could sell me. So they convinced me to put down a deposit for the microblading. I would put down the deposit, pay half of the remaining amount on my microblading visit, and then the last payment on my 6 week follow up appointment. I still wasn't sure so where she (janny) convinced me was at telling me that she was running a holiday special for only $500 (her normal charge is $650) and that in January she was going up to $700. So I paid my deposit which ended up being $161 after taxes. We discussed the day for the appointment, it had to be far enough out that my man could get the day off and it had to be on a Saturday. So my appointment was booked for January 20. I check into the location on my Yelp App. And as much as I am a seasoned yelper, I never checked her reviews on Yelp. They were just so amazing on FB, I didn't think I had to. But boy did I wish I would have. I could relate to some of it with how she had rescheduled my appointment. If only I knew how much more real it was going to get for me. I received a text notification the evening of January 4th: "Hello your appointment on the 20th has to be moved due to a family emergency".I asked if it was for the microblading & what day it has to be moved to, they informed me any other day. I replied back that is the only day I can do due to schedule. The response was "I'm sorry, yea we can't. I just found out." So I asked what happens to my deposit if I cannot reschedule. They replied back that it can be any day just not the 20th and that they do not do refunds.(which was never explained at the time of taking my money). After some back and forth, they did say that they could do anytime on the 20th just not before 1pm. So I said I could 1pm and also said that it was unprofessional to not give refunds if the scheduling conflict was on their end. Then I received a reply "I misunderstood. Janny said we can do a refund it it's on our end which is this matter, it is on our end." So I said I'd prefer a refund then. (Because truth be told, I was very nervous that they would text me the day off my appointment again like before & tell me reschedule anyways.) I received a response, "okay no problem it will take 7-10 business days. Have a great day" I followed up on 1/19 because no refund had been issued. I was told it should be there soon. I asked to verify amount & we agreed that it was $161.50. Still no refund. So I followed up again on 1/24. Said they needed to follow up with Janny- no response. I followed up again on 1/29. No response.I called the number on their website on 1/30. Janny answered and was very polite. Until I told her who I was and why I was calling. The tone in her voice did a complete 180 and all of a sudden she was with a client and would call me back. But she didn't even ask me for a number, I had to give it her. I called 1/31 & 02/01. Obviously, she was ignoring me. So now I have opened up a dispute with my CC and waiting to hear what happens. I had delayed writing this review in hopes that PBS would be professional and issue my refund but that has yet to happen. I just don't want anyone else to experience this. Stay away at all cost! I am not the 1st person and definitely won't be the last. read more

Janny is wonderful! I had a great experience having my eyebrows micro bladed. I did a combination brow and she knocked it out of the park. She asked lots of questions to clarify the look I wanted, and absolutely executed. Her bedside manner was wonderful also. She explained the process as she did it, and talked me through the few painful moments. I've never had a tattoo before, so it was nice to hear her verbalize what was happening. I already booked my touch up appointment with her, and also a lash lift. I can't wait! I would absolutely recommend Pride Beauty Studio to my friends and family. Her Instagram content speaks for herself, if you're considering her work take a gander. @pride_beauty_studio read more

Janny is a true gem. I can guarantee you that there isn't anyone else who services brows like she does. She has the knowledge, the skill and (her own) products that help make my brows look amazing. I like a natural shape, with an arch and she gives me that! I also have sparse brows but she's working with my brows and lashes to get them growing. I want to cry every time I get my brows done. Even her permanent brows look so natural! I can't wait to get mine done! I think you should follow her social media and check out work, book an appointment and get your life. She is going beyond the Covid-19 States Mandates to ensure safety and health which I appreciate because I have two autoimmune diseases and cirrhosis of the liver. read more

I found Pride Beauty Studio on Yelp because I needed a makeup artist for my upcoming wedding. I seen they had a couple vouchers on their Yelp page so I reviewed it and called Janny to make an appointment. I asked her about the vouchers and she said that I could use it. I purchased the voucher in July and we scheduled an appointment for late September to do a makeup trial, then one in October for the wedding. Janny contacts me a few days before the trial to ask if we could reschedule for the next weekend because she had some things come up. Luckily I was able to reschedule and I went on with the weekend. When Saturday gets here she text me first thing in the morning and says "Good morning dear... I'm sorry to give bad news bad I'm going to have to cancel today, I'm not going to be able to do the wedding because I got news that I have to go back home the weekend of your bday." Birthday?! I was confused.. this is not just some birthday I'm wanting to do my makeup for! This is a wedding that is ONE MONTH AWAY THAT YOU ARE CANCELING ON ME FOR!! Then ask her if she would be able to refund the voucher I purchased and she replies, "With Yelp, you have to contact them because I haven't used Yelp in 2 years :(" Why is she just now telling me this?! How very unorganized is she?! She said she would try to get another one of her artist to take over and do the trial and wedding makeup, she has still yet to contact me. Way to keep customers in the door, because she definitely just lost one. read more

The owner, Janny was very professional from the beginning to the end. Janny did my microblading today & I couldn't be happier with them. She did an absolutely amazing job, was very informative & professional. You can tell she loves what she does & the whole time she did them her face would light up & she would call someone over to look at the color & see how great they were looking. I would (and am lol) recommend her to anyone looking for truly bomb brows. read more

I wish I could give Janny 0 Stars! DO NOT order from her shop, she's a scammer. She is a complete liar and only wants to take your money. I trustingly ordered from her shop $300 worth and paid for expedited shipping. She never shipped the product in a timely manner considering I paid EXTRA for faster shipping. I contacted her multiple times regarding an update on my order and she kept putting it off due to personal reasons, which I completely understood to a certain point. It was over a week from when I placed my order and she had yet shipped my order. I emailed her to cancel my order since I needed it before a specific date. She finally responded to my email saying her daughter had the order packaged and was ready to be shipped that day, which is suspicious considering when you have a product being shipped the merchant has to create a shipping label if it was to be shipped that day. I didn't receive any notification of a shipping label being created. I declined, and told her there was no reason to ship the product now since I needed it before a certain date and that's why I paid EXTRA. I also requested to cancel and refund my order. Janny agreed on 12/26/22 to refund my order and still has yet to cancel or refund my order. I know refunding orders take time but she refuses to send me a confirmation of the order being cancelled. She doesn't reply to my emails anymore asking for a simple confirmation. I've sent her multiple emails with enough time in between throughout this whole month for her to get back with me and she hasn't. She's taken my money, and is refusing to give it back by her not refunding me for an item that I NEVER RECEIVED! Don't buy from her shop, don't support her! She's only out to take your money! read more

I don't understand all the bad reviews to be honest .. I had a amazing experience with Janny! She was great a very sweet and professional person. She cleaned all the tools in front or my eyes the studio was very clean. She took her time made sure I like my sketch eyebrows before she got into it . I really didn't want to do this to cause problems but I'm truly upset at the experience I had and honestly it's eating me alive. I decided locally Janny was the best person to take a permanent makeup class with so I reached out to her and asked her about any training available. She told me when and quoted me a price of $2000. (Which I swear before I had saw online $1500) but ok I just did it. I paid my $500 deposit and scheduled the class and didn't hear from her again for two weeks until she messaged me to change the class date. Ok no problem right? Well day of I show up. I sit and wait maybe 15 minutes no big deal ok. I'm a patient person. She shows up. Introduced herself she's really nice ok cool. She asked me if I had a model... no because I didn't know to bring one? She had a client scheduled and tells me it's a "model" she's gonna show me. So basically I spent my first day of 3 taking photos on my iPhone of everything. Kinda of a bummer. We take an hour lunch of our 3/4 hour day. Then I open my kit which hey I'm excited about because for the longest time I looked forward to learning this technique. We open it and I'm missing half my inks and I don't even have a permanent makeup machine. So she gives me an old one of hers and tells me she ordered it. Ok no problem. Day 2 and 3 each day being 3 hour days but with an hour lunch and them showing up about 30 minutes late each day so in totality I got about 1.5 of practice each day. Of course I never actually Worked on real skin with her shadowing me just fake skin and I sat in a room and did it while she sat and watched tv. So I come home practice I'm overwhelmed because I'm basically going off of videos and working on fake skin with her old machine and two inks I received in my kit. I reach out to her a few weeks later asking about the stuff I didn't receive in my kit she told me twice she was "ordering" my stuff before I gave up. It was really disheartening to watch her instagram stories of people in training with her work on real clients and have their machines and everything they were suppose to get. Honestly I'm really hurt. It was hard for me to hand over $2000 for something I could of YouTubed. I did my sisters brows and needed help badly with them. I have the clientele to do brows on but honestly I'm not risking it with my clients. I feel completely ripped off and honestly I don't recommend her to anyone. I'm sincerely hurt by the entire experience I feel like I was scammed. I talked to two other people who had similar experiences. If I were you I'd just save the money and find someone else to train you. Edit : it seems quite a few people have had good trainings with her but it seems it's the roll of a dice and honestly I just feel for $2000 you need to provide consistency. read more

I got my eyebrows done one year ago for my 19th birthday I read all the reviews and was so excited janny was willing to squeeze me in for my "birthday brows" I hated them from the moment I got them but was told they will heal and peel and look very natural I used the balm janny gave me and used care as instructed which gave me a massive allergic reaction and too most of the dye out of my hair strokes in the beginning of my brow I texted her immediately to which she told me nobody has ever had an allergic reaction to her products and did not even offer to do an extra touch up for half or no cost I went in for my "touch up" which is required and expressed my concerns and she did not even fix the parts that ink was removed from so now its a year later and I have splotchy yet bold weirdly shaped brows which I hate. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Janny! She is so unprofessional and a disgrace to the beauty industry. I am an esthetician and I found her on instagram. Despite all the bad reviews i saw about her, I still choose to give her a chance. BIG MISTAKE! I paid over 500.00 and she was late, texted the entire time, and did not provide me with the manual, certificate or supplies that I paid for. Needless to say, I filed the dispute with my credit card company and received my money back. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. Save yourself the stress! read more

Big mistake.... I was a new client and scheduled a brow lamination and tint with Janny. First I was a little taken back because I was told, not asked that she was going to do a zoom call for training during my procedure. So basically I didn't get the client experience and to be honest It would have been nice to have at least been asked or had a heads up. Once my procedure was completed my brows definitely were dark and I was concerned but she said just wash them off within 24 hours and you will be fine. I washed off the brows and literally my eyebrows were black and I have blonde hair...I was freaking out and looked absolutely crazy. I called and left 3 messages and a FB message. Finally to get a response 3 days later. I expressed my stress and that I can not walk around in public like this I was hoping she would at least offer to correct the color, but of course not. She expressed they will lighten in a couple of weeks. I said that is not good enough I paid for this service and I look like an absolute freak. I then proceeded to tell her that there needs to be some form of compensation because I am now going to have to pay more now to get this corrected. She said there are no refunds because she performed her service. My response was no you did not I am completely dissatisfied with the service and it looks horrible. Needless to say we just argued and it went no where. I have used quite a few salon and spas and I am definitely sticking to the more well known professional ones going forward to avoid awful experiences like this again. Let me also mention they only take cash upon completion of service which to me just screams shady. Why when I book I pay with a card, but then you only take cash??? First off we are in 2020 and you have a card to pay for everything and secondly we are in the middle of a pandameic so most places do not even accept cash. Absolutely horrid experience. Beware... read more

Made an appointment online, which was very easy. Prices seemed high, but I didn't mind since I was in dire need for eyebrow waxing! Went to the location, was treated great. However, when I got on the table, I was informed they don't do waxing? Which I didn't understand, considering it says wax on their website. If I had known they only did work with a barbers blade, I would not have made the appointment. However, * the work Jessica did with the barbers blade was very exceptional *. Went home, got on their website to confirm if there was any information about them using the blade, and there wasn't. Then checked their Instagram to find out that Jessica is still in beauty school? Not sure how she is able to practice, she might have a different certificate, but to me, this may explain why she didn't do waxing and the website says otherwise. Super confusing, but still good customer service. Unfortunately, my brows and lip hair grew back SOOO quickly. Not worth the $40+ I spent for something I could really do at home. I will not be going back, but if you like barbers blade services, I enjoyed this place. read more

Paid for a holiday special of $150 the second week of December for an appointment in January for my birthday. The appointment was canceled an hour before I was scheduled to show up on her end. It's been 10 days and I still have not received my refund. Very bad communication. Her work looks great, but I've read bad expierences of canceled appointments and untimely refunds. To make matters worse, she said she would look into my refund, but then stoppped communicating with me. She's a VERY NICE person, but could really use more professionalism as a business. Update: On the 10th day, I sent her a message to tell her I filed a complaint with the BBB, and she got upset telling me that her cousin passed away and she's been coping, and that's why she hasn't responded to my messages. However, every negative review I've read, she claims a family emergency. Anyway, she she said she can't believe people go to give negative feedback without taking into consideration that she has a personal life. If she has that many "family emergencies" she should get an assistant to notify that her business is shut down. How was I supposed to know? She offered to stop the "refund process with the merchant service company" (AKA she never processed it to begin with), and I can come to the studio to pick up my refund in cash. When I got there, she was working on someone, but she didn't acknowledge me at all. Her DAUGHTER was the one to give me the money, and she only gave me $50. When I said, "This is only $50 and I paid $150" that's when the lady finally said something to me and replied, "$150??" Yeah... I'm not going to be writing you every day for $50. Anyway, so she motioned for her daughter to give me the $100 and once again didn't say anything to me. I DO NOT recommend this company to ANYONE. read more

I traveled all the way from PA to come and learn from janny! She was more than flexible with me after a family emergency happened before our original class date in September, was able to push it back with no problem. Was very responsive with texts and any information needed to know prior to hand. Making payments for the class was easy. Instead of making the rest of the deposit the first day of class, I was able to pay some off here and there. The three day combination & ombré/powder brow class was amazing. Started off a little nervous on my end, I was never really artsy but she showed me tricks on how to practice line & stroke work. Face mapping is an oddly satisfying science that I was taught and it truly helps to customize the best brow for your client. The shading eventually clicked and i was extremely excited practicing with her because the support and positive energy made me feel like I wasn't as bad as I thought. I was able to shadow a 6 week touch up to see what my work should look like & saw her create a beautiful set of corrective combination brows!! You guys it was basically magic. She was very professional with explaining to her client what's she would be correcting and showed her what they would look like before she began to ensure that she would be happy before beginning. She's very honest & watched everything. It was refreshing to have a teacher who explains what was wrong & why, and what could happen if it was continued without crushing your energy. I truly believe that having a good teacher makes or breaks an experience & I was thankful to have one who made me comfortable. During the live model day she stepped in as needed & Made the setting comfortable so myself and model werent too nervous. My kit is the cutest little thing packed with all of the items I need to begin bettering my craft at home. Would recommend anyone who is looking to learn something that can better their career! Dear Janny, I am the mother in law of Heather Helton/Reay. I'm sure you are receiving many bad reviews because of the missed appointment on Friday September 30th. to apply your makeup skills on Heather. I cannot tell you the stress and anxiety caused to this bride on her special day and leaving her to scramble to find someone to apply her makeup. Kudos to that individual for showing up. You being a professional in the beauty field are well aware of the importance of this occasion. How could you not know this would devastate the bride?! You saying your phone broke down is not an excuse that is acceptable. Professionals find a way to keep their commitments! I read your response indicating you had phone issues. You didn't even make an attempt to contact her the next day and even today, is your phone still broke? Just saying you will refund her money is not the point, that is the easy way out. When you lie about why you didn't show up, you will get caught in those lies. The bride deserves to hear the truth of why you didn't show up for the appointment. How you can say your a professional at this point is truly wrong. Future brides please be aware of this incident and reconsider trusting this makeup artist for your wedding. She is obviously good at her art because my daughter in law would not have chosen her to begin with. The other important part of being a professional is the trust people put in you for providing a service and in this incident you proved you cannot be trusted. Janny please tell us the truth .........I gave you 1 star only because I had to! Jody Reay read more

I had an appointment with Jenny today which should have been my second session which is considered a touchup. OMG what an experience!!!! I could not believe what was happening. I had an appt for 6pm I got there 5:23 pm which was 37 mins early. I walked and I said I am her for 6pm and the first thing she said was I am running 40 mins behind therefore she wont be able to see me. She didn't even have the courtesy to call on my cell phone to tell me she is finished with the previous customer. But I should have know the first session I waited almost 2 hrs to be seen. HORRIBLE customer service. Scheduled an appointment waiting 2 weeks for something that worked with my schedule. Someone from the studio texted me a couple days before my appointment asking if I could come in earlier. I was able to come in earlier so there was no problem there. The problem came when I showed up at my rescheduled appointment to a locked door with no lights on. I texted the number that wanted to reschedule since I didn't have Jannys number to tell them I was there but the doors were locked. They then respond with "Who is this". I explained I was a customer who had an appointment that was waiting outside locked doors. They responded with "Janny went home sick at lunch and won't be there". I was completely turned off by their lack of customer service and terrible "receptionist". It was never communicated to me that my appointment would be cancelled after I drove 50 minutes to get there. Whoever I was texting (was not Janny) was very immature and NOT trained to handle customer service at all. They didn't come up with any solution to the problem that was THIER fault. Completely unprofessional and was turned off by their inability to have any care towards their customers. I understand Janny was sick and don't fault her, but I would think a business would have communicated to customers that had scheduled appointments that no one would be there when they showed up. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. They have zero respect/care for customers. read more

After hearing so many horror stories about it. I must say, I was a little skeptical and nervous about getting my eyebrows microbladed. I remember seeing before and after photos of the good and bad examples. I doubted myself many times, questioning, What if Mine turn up to be one of the bad ones? Then, there are so many options on where to go. I researched and reviewed almost every spa in NY/NJ area until I completely discouraged myself from getting this done. Until, my conversation with Janny Molina Mua. She thoroughly explained what the procedure was and what to expect. We compared photos of examples and she clearly agreed that some of these eyebrows were horrendous. She didnt sugar coat it. However, she assured me that MY brows would turn out great. So I decided to go through with it and made my appointment with Pride Beauty Studio. I dont regret it. The process was smooth and comfortable. Janny is definitely gifted at what she does. I love my new brows. read more

I booked Janny for on-location bridal makeup for my 9/30 wedding. For the bridal trial, I met with her in-studio, paid for the trial, and also paid a deposit for my wedding day. In preparation for my wedding, I made an additional appointment for 9/24 to visit her in-studio for lash extensions. On 9/22, Janny contacted me to reschedule my lash appointment due to a family emergency. Luckily, I was able to reschedule for 9/27 and had the lash extensions applied in her studio. While I was there, I confirmed with her all the details for my wedding on 9/30. She was scheduled to arrive on-location at 2 PM. When I hadn't heard from her by 2:30 PM on 9/30, I sent her a text message to check in and see if perhaps she ran into some traffic. She responded ten minutes later that she was in "the worst traffic" and would be there "as soon as she could." No apology, no estimated time of arrival. At 3 PM, she had still not arrived and I began to worry. I sent her a follow-up text message at 3:20 PM, asking when she thought she might arrive but received no response. At 3:45 PM, my sister called her from my phone (I was incredibly stressed at this point). Janny didn't answer, so my sister left her a voicemail letting her know we were concerned. For all we knew, she could have run into some car trouble or been in an accident or something. She still didn't respond. At 4 PM, we tried to call Janny from my phone again but the call was rejected after a few seconds and sent to voicemail. At that point, I was absolutely distraught and left to scramble for a backup makeup artist ON MY WEDDING DAY. It was truly awful; I would never wish that experience on any bride or even bridezilla. A day later, and I still haven't received a response from Janny. By the way, I know she didn't die in some horrific accident because she has since posted on her social media pages.
