If you love yourself, DO NOT COME HERE!
I went to this salon looking to have a great experience, unfortunately, it did not go well my first time. I moved to NC a few months ago and I have been looking for a hairstylist that can help with my hair needs. I went to another salon a couple of times before and for obvious reasons I did not go back. After looking and finding Salon Afton, I did my due diligence and setup a consultation appt with a hairstylist here - She said she can help me fixing my color and styling my hair the way I wanted it to be.
The day I went to my first appt, I was so excited that finally I was going to get the hair the way I wanted it to be. The service I was getting was a partial foil and toner. When I came home, I checked my hair and I was very sad, I saw these sharp lines all over where I was supposed to have highlights. The lines are on top of each other, and the hair just looks really bad. I proceed to call the Salon and I spoke with the owner (which happens to be the one that answered the phone). I said I was going to send them the pictures via email for them to see what I was referring to, and that I am hoping something can be done/fix, the owner tells me to come tomorrow afternoon and I said that I will call back to check if there was time for them to work on me that afternoon as I have to drive 25 min to get there and back. The next day, I called back, and I spoke with the owner, she tells me she looked at the pictures and the job look well done, and that there is nothing wrong with the way the hairstylist did my hair. I told her I was not comfortable, and I do not like the sharp lines that I have on my hair and that nobody has ever done this to me in the past (which I have being doing my hair like this since at least 8 years ago). I explained that this looks really bad, especially when the hair is wet and then she proceeds and dares to ask me if I wear my hair wet every day (which by the way, I do a lot as I don't like to use heat on my hair to dry it). She also said that nobody walks around with their hands on their head parting the hair in sections like that (how I am showing it in the pictures). She also said that the hairstylist worked on doing some "color correction" and that I wasn't even charge for it. Which for the record, I never requested a color correction as the service I requested was just highlights and being able to have a more platinum color back, than the color I had because the previous person at the previous salon did not do a good job. She also said that I said I wasn't happy with my previous experiences at other salons, indicating that I am that type of customer that complains about everything. Which for the record, my previous hairstylist (out of the NC state) that did my hair for multiple years, did a terrific job and I can show it on the pictures I am posting here with long hair.
To end with the story, she tells me all looks good with my hair, that they are not going to fix it, and that they will see me at my next appt, preferrable in 6 weeks to be able to work on correcting my hair. At the end of this phone call, I was in tears... I could not believe the way this person handled this. The owner herself gave me a great disappointment, and I am not even mad at the hairstylist (hence the reason I am not mentioning her name), because at the end of the day, we are humans, and we all make mistakes, and we are not perfect. I believe in second chances, but this is not about the hairstylist, it is now about the Salon and its owner. Horrible way to treat a customer. and yes, the owner might not need my money or me as a customer, but at least with this review I am letting other people know what to expect when things don't go well when getting a service. If you value your money, think twice, as they will charge all of these money for a service and obviously not fix your hair or give it back. Money I also have to work hard to earn and now I have to spend more fixing my hair somewhere else.
If you are an employee here, this is for you: I would never want to work for someone that when you make a mistake, tells clients that your job is beautiful. And does not let you learn from your mistakes or grow as a professional. Red Flag. She is just looking for the $$$
