I have been going to Untangeled for over a year now. My stylist is Christina and she had been helping me to transition from my old color of brassy blonde (box hair dye) to a subtle gray hair with some fine blonde highlights. I also came in with short blonde hair and am trying to grow my hair longer as well. Christina has just been wonderful and encouraging as I grow my hair out. I love going to Untangled Salon. I took my daughter and myself here October 24th. I asked for my daughter to get balayage hair with blue and purple. They just died the tips of her hair but it wasn't balayage I'll attach a picture. Before having this done I asked if it was temporary or permanent they said permanent and could last 6 months depending how often she washed her hair. They asked what shampoo and conditioner she uses and they said it was good. 6 days later after spending well over $100 it was out of her hair. After one wash not to hot water 3 days later the purple was gone and blue took over. 6 days later the dye was completely out of her hair. I called the next day. They said Lori was dying someone's hair and would call me back and never did. They asked my daughter if she would want some sparkle streamer in her hair she said yes. It's a $1 for one and since my daughters hair is shoulder length they had to cut the streamer so half of it went to the garbage and they put 12 in without even asking how many we want. So I paid $12 for something that fell out in two days. I asked for a haircut for myself and showed a picture it was long layers and angle bangs. My hair looks like it wasn't even cut. I called them thinking they would at least apologize and offer something back. I wouldn't have taken my daughter there to get the dye back in. But to not get a return call is what prompted me to write this review. I read all these raving reviews but it's not the truth. read more

Can I leave zero starts? We recently moved to the Charlotte area d following positive reviews I made an appointment for my 17yo daughter. First, we had to jump through hoops to pay half upfront but there site doesn't allow it online. The stylist was washing her hair and another person in the salon started bashing current trends for teens. Discussing how horrible they were . Then continue to bash her school say the only thing trending there were cowboy boots and mullets. My daughter provided a picture of what she wanted shorter hair with long layers as she has nice waves and curl when not cut too short. She leaves with short layers and in her words "I look like Maria from the Sound of Music". Unless you are into old lady hair and a yippee dog running around then don't go here! #unprofessional read more

The vibe here is a bit off.. not super welcoming or friendly. Prices are very high, and there seems to not be a very personal touch here-If you can wait long periods between dye jobs this might be the place for you , but those of us with grey hairs need likely look elsewhere for frequent root touch ups and highlights read more

Straight the the point... Untangled is my families go-to. Kim does the kids cuts and Heidi does my blonde highlights. This salon never disappoints and I truly trust all of the stylists. Crystal and Lori add to the consult and help me get to the color I want. We moved down here from NY and NJ and have found that even the salons in Charlotte don't compare to Untangled. She's does a great job cutting my hair, and has been teaching me a lot about what kinds of brushes to use, and how to blow-dry it effectively and what-not. I came to Untangled from a find on Groupon last November in 2017. I have had my hair done my whole life, and have learned that many people will do what they think will look best and not what you ask for. I came to Untangled wanting to go blonde and I knew that it is always a risk because not everyone is great with color, but especially bleach. After reading many reviews on the salon and each professional I decided to book with Hannah. I was 1 million percent satisfied. So much so that I live in ATL and drive to Charlotte, NC to visit family and make sure I get my hair done while I'm here and won't go anywhere else. I've received more compliments on my highlights, their tone, and how well-done they are than I've ever had in the past. Did not enjoy the experience at this salon. Would not recommend. Worst cut I've had in a long time

I went in this saloon only one time, that coincides also with my last time. I got the appointment in the early afternoon and when I entered no one took care of me, even if was my first time. I have never met the owner of the saloon; different people work inside, but no one identified herself as the owner. My request was very simple: adjust the fringe, take a highlighters using the same my natural color, and comb the hair smooth. I wanted a slightly rounded fringe, instead I had a straight cut ... even if I showed a picture of my previous cut that I loved very much. After she put the highlighters only on the root, so the rest of the hair was not revived with a bad result....she will have wanted to save on costs of the product that on amazon you can buy for no more than 10 dollar .... considering that she did not use either the heat helmet (which my usual hairdresser regularly)...for so much I could have done highlighters by my self at home. The styling was disappointing. I asked for straight hair, but after less than an hour they were already rolling. My friends have told me that I looked like a pineapple. I was so sad because was my birthday and I had a dinner with friends...and my hair style looked terrible. Finally once at home I noticed that I had part of the cut hair plastered to my face and arms...the hairdresser I have not even bothered to shake off. For this service I spent 120$....usually I spend 60$ for a better job. Nothing good in this place, if not the insistence of asking if I wanted a drink. The saloon is also quite dated, not at all the same as the pictures you see online. read more

First I was kept waiting for 40 minutes. Then Hannah did a terrible job at coloring my hair. I told her that my roots needed to be darker and she argued with me. Then she didn't style my hair and charged me more than I was quoted. Cost me $110 for hair color. Place is a rip off. read more
