First off, Jessie is awesome! I'm a new client and have seen her twice so far. The first time she cut my hair exactly like the photo I showed her. But before she cut my hair, she informed me how that cut would look if I didn't style it everyday. She made sure I understood it might look a little more simple if it's just straight. She was very informative with the product and told me what she was using to style my hair. She is very sweet and professional. Then I referred my friend, who absolutely loves her cut. This was the WORST salon experience I've ever had. I clearly explained what I wanted, and not only did she completely ignore my instructions, but the haircut I was given is uneven, choppy, and way shorter than I ever asked for. It was by the stylist Hayley . My hair is now so thin and messed up that I can't even style it. I feel embarrassed to step outside looking like this. A haircut should make you feel good, not leave you depressed and frustrated. Instead, I left the salon feeling absolutely awful. I trusted them with my hair, and they completely ruined it. I called a few months ago to make an appointment for an updo and told the receptionist that my hair is fairly long and that my only requirement was that it be quick & easy to let down at the reception.  I was thinking a hair clip or barrette with few, if any, bobby pins.  She said that Tess is the only person who does updos there, and she's really, really good!  I sent my ideas to Tess as well in subsequent texts.  I arrived for my appointment with about 6 or 7 different clips and barrettes for her to choose from that I had purchased to match my gown.  She asked if I wanted the updo on top or in the back of my head.  I told her "on top".  (What's the point in an updo if you can't see it?) She never touched any of the clips I brought, and I could not see the updo AT ALL when I looked in a mirror.  She put it in the back of my head despite what I said. Since time was of the essence, I couldn't have her redo it. Additionally, she cut a couple pieces of hair that were sticking out. It took my husband a good 10 minutes to pull all the bobby pins out of my hair at the reception.  I wish I had counted them, but I'd guess there were between 20 and 30 of them. I got to the salon and met with an assistant, who asked me what I wanted and then half heartedly shampoo'd my hair. Not a very thorough wash. Then the stylist gave me a blowout (which I liked) and dry cut my hair. I have medium length, thick hair- she cut it in less than five minutes. The whole experience from start to finish, was 30 minutes, which seemed really quick. It wasn't until I washed and styled it myself that I realized just how awful this haircut is. The layers are so choppy and uneven. The ends are blunt. No matter what I do it looks terrible. To top it off, she asked if I'd like some waves in my hair at the end and failed to mention this would add ten dollars to my service. I wouldn't have paid that if I'd known. First, do not give any salon your card # just to book an appointment. If they want to charge a consultation fee, to discuss if they can do what you want, then take it off if you have the service done at another appt. No one should do a " dry cut", you go in repeat previous consult, start color or foiling, know your clients hair shade, and how to mix colors, it has red, it takes longer for blonde, put them under a heat lamp, put toner and glaze on at shampoo bowl, then know straight, fine, hair even if thick, needs to be cut, textured more. I assume coarse curly hair has it's own rules. Start out knowing what length they want, and what color, if blonde, how much blonde, what tint or shade. If you say plus cover my gray roots ( common sense) in this process, a shade that will not show as much in a few weeks, suggest it, if agreed, then do it. Hint: natural light is a must for color, arguing over any of this is not an option. Only if the stylist knows it will damage your hair, or suggests a better way and you agree on it. And never, ever act rude or yell at a client, customer or anyone who is paying you. This Salon has a 3.4 star for many reasons, I am sure. read more

I absolutely adore everyone at this salon. I've been to numerous stylists but I always go back to Kyli. While the salon is pricey, the results are absolutely unmatched! I've never walked out of a salon feeling as proud of my haircut as when I started coming here. They are masters at color - picking the right shade for your skin and hair and getting it just how you want it. I get hand painted color and i get so many compliments. I once was in a rush and went to another salon and was so distraught about the awful cut I got the night before an interview that the stylists at Hudson squeezed me in 15 minutes before closing to fix it. Beware of this salon. If they mess up your hair they will make you pay to get it fixed, no refunds! My roots turned orange and didn't lift enough to match my existing blonde. After trying to fix it I now have a giant solid skunky white and orange band of hair right in the front that doesn't blend in. It looks ridiculous when I put my hair behind my ears or up in a pony tail. When it's up in a pony tail I have a giant white racetrack down the middle. It's obvious they need to fix it more by breaking it up with lowlights or something, but IM RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR IT! They want me to pay $120 to fix this??! How is this my fault? Please tell me I'm not crazy. Here is a photo of my hair AFTER it was "FIXED". Would you be ok with your hair looking like this??? The stylist (whom I won't name because I'm not that evil) said there is nothing else she can do! That "she doesn't get paid hourly and has already spent 9 HOURS highlighting my hair."EVEN THE OWNER THINKS I SHOULD PAY $120 TO FIX IT on top of the $275 IVE ALREADY PAID! Oh and to top it off they told me because I used my own fanola no yellow shampoo instead of theirs at the salon that it VOIDS the guarantee. Overrated, overpriced, horrible service, product pushers. I was living in Mooresville & got a Brazilian Blowout. It didn't last more than a week, but I didn't complain. I moved to Huntersville & made the HUGE mistake of trying that salon. I scheduled with Jessie. When I got there I was asked why I didn't get my color done during the Brazilian Blowout (a few weeks prior). I said they told me I can't have it done the same day. I was told that Mooresville charged me for a Keratin & gave me a Brazilian Blowout and the color is normally done the same day. I was told the overpriced shampoo I was sold strips the hair & is why my Brazilian Blowout didn't last and the description of the service sounded like "they didn't do it properly". She said she would have her manager call Mooresville to get me a refund of my over charge (never heard from her again). In the meantime she told me she couldn't color my hair because she didn't know the formula. Seriously, my hair is brown & I needed roots only. She said she would charge me $270 just for the color. She couldn't figure out the formula, but can getaway with charging $270 for a root color? She also said, she can't do anything to my hair because it would void my refund for the Brazilian Blowout. So I left. Waited weeks for the appointment, time getting there & nothing was done. I called Hudson & the managers of both salons & never heard from anyone. Plus I was told they would call me the next day (never heard anything). I found an actual luxury, high end salon. I got a stunning cut, root color (she figured out the formula all on her own) & gloss. Total $170 (obviously not including tip). Save your time and money. This place is AWFUL! read more

It happens occasionally that hair doesn't turn out as expected and it has been our experience that a stylist/salon will always work with client to fix the issue. Not here, it seems that the culture is that stylists are infallible and one in particular is the prima donna whose attitude and whining about what she will and will not do is intolerable. Not a friendly ambiance. Unbelievable as it seems, I saw the owner at the salon and asked to speak with him (he was not with a client and not holding court as I have seen at other times) and he instead sent his "salon" manager whom I've never met and before I could say one word told me rather rudely that i should go elsewhere! Wow! I've lived in many big cities in the US and overseas with reputation for being unfriendly places and have never encountered such ugly attitude. I won't let my experience ruin my love and appreciation for my new home but this salon needs to work on customer service and people skills. read more

I was expecting more to be done with my high lights, but it was more just a touch up than adding more to what I already had. Unfortunately I'm here writing a review because no one reached back out to me regarding my negative experience. I made an online appointment for August 9th, 2023 for a Partial Foil which showed online to be around $163.00. When Julia and I spoke about what I wanted prior to the beginning of my service, I asked for mostly low lights. Again, I had only signed up for "partial foil" so I assumed that this was what I was getting. We did not discuss what I had gotten the last time I was there as Julia claimed that we had discussed. Nevertheless, since I had made the appointment for the "partial foil" online, THIS is what I had wanted, and anything more that she wanted to add to this should have been made very clear prior to her doing it, and I should've accepted the extra cost for any additional treatment that she may suggest to add to the original that I had signed up for. Julia never once advised me of any additional cost of anything more that she wanted to recommend me getting.. never.. Furthermore, she never clarified that she was going to give me "full color" along with the "partial foil" which I signed up for. When I went to the counter to pay - my bill was $340.00!!!... not the $163.00 that I had signed up for. I was in shock and extremely confused as to why I was charged so much more than what I had thought. When they sent me the text for a review, I let them know my issue, and was hoping that they would make it right, but they did not. First of all, I would not have agreed to the extra treatment that Julia wanted to give me if she had advised me that it would've been $177.00 more. I'm extremely disappointed in this experience as I was happy with this salon until this happened. read more

HONEY - I was a first time client and it was the last time I will ever enter that salon. They selected my stylist ( Gabby) she was 22 years old and it is my fault for not asking for a more experienced stylist. She was kind but not ready for a client with my needs ( full highlight and cut ) There are zero framing highlights or any dimension to my blonde and she had to cut my hair again once she dried it because it wasn't short enough... It still was not the correct length when she was "done" but to save the young girls feeling I said it was fine and needed to leave. I am not trying to be rude towards her, my platinum blonde takes a certain level of experience. SO I went to Hudson Salon yesterday. And let me start off by saying I was BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful the inside was and how good it smelled. (Also the hair dryers hanging from the ceiling?!! Amazing idea!!!) The receptionist was very sweet and I didn't have to wait long at all for my appointment to begin. My stylist was Carissa (absolutely amazing btw) I went in wanting just something, anything different with my hair. I told her what I kinda wanted and she did a test strand just to judge my hairs integrity ect, and oh boy it didn't work (old salon used permanent color:////) soooooo we went in a complete different direction. I went in with brown/blonde hair and came out with beautiful jet black. And it looks gorgeous. I love it! And just to add one more important thing. I asked Carissa to do a wolf cut on my hair and she told me she didn't know how to do that. I explained and she took it upon herself to ask someone I assume with a little more or equal experience to teach her, on the fly how to do it and EVEN THOUGH she never had done a wolf cut she tried it out and I trusted her! And it came out amazing!!! I'm so glad she got the experience and to the rude lady that left a nasty review on her just because she isn't as experienced as other people-karma is a b. 100% recommend this business, they're welcoming and make you feel right at home. I will never go to Hudson Salon in the future. First of all, the first review I left was deleted, so I will make sure I put more reviews on google, yelp, etc. Carissa Seate was the best master hairstylist I have ever been to. I went to Hudson exclusively to see her. The owner of Hudson took it upon himself to move her to days, and then cancelled all of her appointments. They did not care if it affected her or or her clients. They expected me to miss work to get my hair done. This shows a lack of respect for her and her clients. Furthermore, the owner had the audacity to send me an email bribing me to stay with them and not follow Carissa Seate to her new salon. He stated in his email that Carissa left to explore other options, when, in fact, she was bullied out. So, he's a liar. He thinks by giving me a one time discount on products, I would stay at Hudson's. So, the owner is trying to take away her clients while she is expecting a baby! Bad Business, Hudson Salon. I haven't written a Yelp review in quite awhile and I'm going to just come out say this... I had a pretty BAD experience. If you're looking for a factory chop shop, then this is the place. I just moved to the area and based on the Yelp reviews, I was relieved that I could find a local hairstylist to go to instead of having to drive to South Charlotte, but apparently that's just what I should have done. The salon is beautiful no doubt, but I'm not paying for that. I'm paying for the cut. And lets face it, the personality of the hair stylist as well. His snotty debonair attitude certainly set the tone. So at first I think, ok...this guy thinks he's all that, so he's gotta be good at cutting hair. I mean he wouldn't be my first choice, but I would at least leave feeling happy with a great cut.. First, he asked me if he could razor my hair. Ugh, no...if you looked at it, it's fine to begin with and short. That damages my hair more than anything and any good stylist would know that. Then I looked to my side and saw that he had 3 other clients that he's also having to assist. What?! Where are the other stylists... I see ONE making an up-do, but is it really just him? No wonder he's rushing my hair cut and even ends up making it crooked in the back, which I later pointed out after I was handed the mirror. Not only that, but he really does not like cutting with scissors, because towards the end he used a razor to texture my short hair. If it was in a couple of places I really wouldn't mind, but he razored the hell out of my hair. There's something about that seat, that's almost like being in a doctors office. You trust them, even though you should probably question them a little more. Lastly, I left with a ballooned out Golden Girls hair do, not hair cool. I couldn't wait to rush home and wash all the volume out. Also, the shampoo assistant, Hudson and the other stylist(who was also working the front desk) kept trying to sell me Bumble n Bumble products. Back off guys! You know, all would have been forgiven if he actually realized his mistake on making my hair crooked. He just kept saying it's the angle at which I'm looking at it. So everyone else who has seen my hair is wrong? Also, using the razor when I asked him not to, but because he needed to rush me out, it was the quickest way to texturize it I guess. Don't be fooled by the glitz and glamour when you walk in. And yes, I know it's just hair, but ladies you know it's not;) I'm not trying to be really harsh on this business by giving it a 1 star, because I realize that this is just MY experience, but may be helpful for those that want an edgy cut that's also healthy for your hair. read more

I'm conflicted about this review. I had two services done - haircut and brow wax. I've fallen out of love with my old stylist thanks to a wonky color job. I went back once to get it fixed, but alas, still not happy. So the search for a new salon began. I stumbled upon Hudson E Hudson thanks to yelp. The ambiance is excellent. I also love that you can book online. Where things went sideways was my brow wax. Jen did both my wax and my cut. She did the wax while shampooing my hair. She didn't give me a mirror after the wax so when I went back to her station for the cut the brows appeared to look good (based on review from two feet away from the mirror). She proceeded to do the cut and I'm loving it. It's the inverted bob that my old stylist struggled to get past that first magical cut (see my review of Carmen Carmen). Anywho, the cut is awesome. I was pleased. I even booked a hair color apt on my way out. All was right with the world....until I got into my car and actually got a chance to look up close at my brows. They seriously didn't look touched. They were the same as when I walked in. They weren't clean and neat at.all. I was very bummed. So bummed that I debated going back in t complain, but I did not. Brow wax = 2 stars, at least I didn't get burned or otherwise injured Hair cut = 4 stars Average = 3 stars. I'm really debating if I am going to keep going back the brows were that bad. She didn't mess them up, but I paid 15 bucks and look as bushy as when I went in. I guess that was my fault for not insist on a mirror to check out the brows - but when I got into my car, wooh baby. Back to Benefit Brow Bar at Ulta. Boo, they are very pricey, but you can't argue with the shaping they do. read more

This was my first time at this salon as I have recently moved to the area. I had my hair cut and highlighted by Jennifer. She did such an amazing job with my cut and color! I couldn't be happier! The salon is really nice too, it has great unique features such as exposed white brick and a beautiful chandelier. The staff were really nice as well! Not what I thought, lighting was weird all gray walls. I like the late hours but I have damaged hair and need some one whom can work on that an specialize in blonde shades. It wasn't very comfortable and it's not easy discussing price, I was told $130 on the phone and the hair stylist wrote me up a bill for 250- not including the tip. Be careful and don't be afraid to get proper pricing other wise you can literally be spending hundreds. read more

Each of them put the client first and make them feel special. I have never seen this kind of sustained service excellence with any other company. I love Hudson E. Hudson! Yes, it's a little pricey but what upscale salon isn't? I was actually paying $5 more at a salon in Mooresville which is also a farther drive for me. HEH is a great salon and more along the lines of what you would find in a larger city such as Atlanta (Buckhead) or even NYC. My stylist is Jennifer and I followed her to HEH from her previous salon, and boy am I glad she moved here. She is amazing and when she left the other place, I thought I had lost her. Luckily she moved here. Jennifer takes the time to listen to you, makes sure you are comfortable thru the entire process, and gives THE best scalp massage. I always walk out looking and feeling great. Here's something that sets Jennifer apart from so many other sylists--she goes above and beyond. The last 2 years I've attended a formal event and specifically scheduled my cut and style on the same day. Jennifer always goes the extra mile. She made my hair look unbelievable! I got comments all night long! I couldn't have asked for a better stylist or better salon. I'll continue to go back every 8 weeks because they make me look great and feel even better. I went for a subtle balayage and got a dramatic messy and very choppy and streaky looking balayage. I was brunette and now my hair is literally orange. To this day, 12/30/2020, I have not been contacted from the salon. Below is the email that I sent to the salon on 7/21/2020, per the salon's request "If your experience wasn't great, we want to make it right." I'm a returning client from Virginia. My first time having any color in my hair was March 2020 with Maddie. I enjoyed her so much. She taught me a ton about my hair! My best friend lives in NC and this is why I've come down to get my hair done to spend time with her. I made appointments on 7/1/2020 at 10:45am. I specifically asked for Maddie and Aubrey. I was told that Maddie doesn't work there any longer and that Aubrey was off that day. I then asked for the same services that were done in March and the same level of stylist for myself and my friend. The appointment itself was fabulous for me. Jackie was exciting and super nice while she was working with me. I told her that I wanted to do the same thing as last time and that Maddie just used the blue color all over my hair to make it easier then going back over the bleached hair because I have brown hair. She said that it would make it easier on her also! So everything about my appointment process was the same as before. When Jackie and another stylist (Jackie had another appointment I think) blew out my hair it looked fantastic in the lighting on the ends. The apprentice took me outside to take pictures then we went to pay. I was asked to pay a total of almost $300. I was shocked. The was not the price that I paid before and it was over $100 of what I paid last time. I was told that there was another receptionist that made the appointment and she no longer worked there. I asked the front desk lady to please ask Jackie why it was so much more. I was told that Jackie is a much higher level than Maddie. I was so frustrated that I just paid and left. I gave Jackie half of her tip on my card and half in cash. When I got back to my friend's house, I started looking at my hair and there is still blonde from the bleaching, I had blue dye in my ear and I still had grey hairs. Below is what I was charged for: Fashion Foil + Cut $159.00 Full Color $109.00 When I came in the first time, for the exact same service that I received the Fashion Foil and cut is what I was charged for. This is from your website: "Fashion Foil WITH OLAPLEX/PH BONDING SERVICE (Less than 10 Foils) We use redken products. In addition, Olaplex is used. See olaplex.com for details. Included is the #1 and #2 in-salon Olaplex service. Please note: Most Foil services require a glaze." The fashion foil, from what I was told both appointments, includes the bleach and color. Why was I charged for full color on top of the service that already includes the color and to not have it completed how it should be? I don't believe that I will be coming back to this salon in the future. What a shame too considering the fact that I have come all the way from VA twice to utilize your services. When I moved here, I really wanted to like this salon with its cool vibe. It didn't happen - despite me persisting to go a 2nd and a 3rd time... I don't mind spending money for my hair- but not for it to be damaged with them ignoring my ask for Olaplex the 1st time, then forgetting to do that again in another appointment. The cut wasn't to write home either. When booking with Hudson, the trainee ended up spending more time with me than him; she was the worst at shampooing - I still had lather in my hair when I sat down for the blow dry! I was too embarrassed to tell her and didn't want to get her into trouble by letting him know... oh my god.......Dont.........I got a beauty school haircut with upscale overprice....Dont
