We had what looked like could be termite droppings. Well, that's what it looked like to me, but I guess I was wrong. I took a few photos and sent them off to Terrence and he seemed pretty confident that wasn't it. But, he was still happy to drop by. I wanted to know what else it could be so I scheduled time and he showed up and looked around and confirmed that the wood under the cabinet was starting to rot and drop off onto the bottom of the cabinet. I was relieved it wasn't bugs. We didn't end up needing to work with Priceless Termite, but if we had in the future, we would. Terrance came over to inspect our multi-unit building and said that he could not recommend full building fumigation b/c it abuts other buildings on the block....reasonable observation. Spot treatment would require a lot of work like pulling back carpet, looking at the subfloor, etc. so he highly recommended heat treatment, which he does not do. However, when his official report came back, he did not include any diagrams of where he saw the termites and his recommendation did not mention any of the above even though he documented that in an email to me. It appears to me that the boilerplate form language did not provide from this content. Regardless, the report is very inaccurate because the recommendation is not what he says in his email to me. For the amount of money we paid him for the 10 minute inspection, I would have expected a lot of better. I cannot recommend him for this reason. NEW FOOTNOTE: After my 2-star review, Terrance appropriately apologized online on Yelp and revised his report to make it more clear he recommended heat treatment. I had dry wood termites and gave a me a reasonable bid. Since Terrance was early to my appointment, he took care of the termites right away. Terrence visited our house to look at a potential drywood termite situation. The area in question at our place was for the most part inaccessible, because it was obstructed by our built-in kitchen cabinets. He discussed a few options with us, which included working with other companies that can do heat treatments (since heat treatments are outside of his services but would probably make more sense than fumigation given the limited scope) or having someone remove the cabinets so he can return to review further. He also looked at another part of our house which turned out to be just dry rot. He didn't pressure us into buying anything, and he didn't charge for the visit. On the hottest day of the summer, I saw little ant-fly like insects on the exterior of one of my home's windows. After some googling, I was able to figure out that they were drywood termites. A few weeks went by and I finally got around to looking for a termite company to do an inspection. Priceless Termite Control had the best reviews, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Terrence came to my house, did an extremely thorough inspection and sent me a report within the time frame that he had committed to. Because these were drywood termites, Terrence indicated that the best course of action would be fumigation and that a spot treatment could not guarantee that all the termites would be eliminated. Throughout the entire process, Terrence's communication was awesome, he is ultra responsive and obviously cares about his customers. Although the fumigation was challenging to deal with on a personal level, we are now back in our house and termite free. He responded quickly, identified the same damage as the inspector for a well known pest control firm and charged about the same price. But he didn't try to upsell. I called to request an inspection and quote. He arrived on time and gave a very good report. Very professional. On a funny note, we later realized that one of the powder beetle sites was actually not an infestation. We looked from a distance and realized that there was a clear round spot on the wall where all the holes were. It was a dart board that my brothers hung up and played darts badly. He was quick to respond to our request for him to check out a termite situation we inherited in a new house. I was a little overwhelmed with the task of dealing with termites in my ground floor bathroom. We have subterranean termites and so treatment means having to drill holes into the ground under the slab. We have radiant heating in the bathroom, and as well as problems with where the thicker footings for the sheer wall was, where we needed to drill. There was a lot of factors to consider when planning this, including taking up all the tile work, which I had to hire contractors to do. Terrence was reliable, kind, knowledgeable, professional, patient, and made me feel comfortable as we both worked to work out these problems together. He asked about things that I and the contractors didn't think about. He really rolled with the punches. I originally got a him to come out to assess and then he even came back to make sure that we were clear on the plan once we demolished the bathroom so we could see a bit better what we were dealing with. I honestly asked a lot of him and he went above and beyond for this project. I was working on time and materials with my contractors so it was harder for me to schedule time farther ahead, when I requested a new quote on a Friday afternoon, he was on top of it and sent it to me by the end of the day. When I asked him to come in the next week he was on it and got me into the schedule. He and I looked over old building plans to try to find the best way to take care of this problem so I wouldn't have to do this again. He understood my time constraints and how this project was hard on my tenant. I really appreciate all that he did and in such a timely manner. I would 1000% be using his services again.
