Particularly if you claim to have applied Timbor to all exposed timbers in sub and attic spaces to prevent new infestation? 4. Benjamin Ortiz then went to the property and called to say that he thinks they have no responsibility because their warranty expired. Then he declared that he's going to write a whole new pest inspection with worse findings and bigger estimates for repairs and file it with the state and he did. Hi Tech has done work for me for 2 different properties. Their office and field team are very RESPONSIVE, they have a number of office admins and will always pick up the phone during operating hours. The email communication was also excellent. They put the customer FIRST. For example, I was unsure of the work that was done in the attic, I expressed my concern, although it could have been brushed off due to my lack of expertise, but they went above and beyond to come out AGAIN and perform a retreatment of the area of concern. Hitech came two years ago to inspect my property and then to treat it for termites. They did a great job and I had a two year warranty. They came back at the end of the two years for the final inspections and re-treated one spot. Technicians Zach and Hector also removed debris that was left down there by plumbers previously, because it would attract termites. I got a quote from Hi Tech and a few other companies for some termite/powder post beetle issues we've noticed in our house. Jorge, the inspector, was very friendly and a great salesman. However, now that we've gotten a few other opinions on the same exact spots, I realize that Jorge was basically upselling me. He noticed powder post beetle holes in our garage said we needed to spray the entire garage - three other inspectors looked at the exact same spots he'd pointed out and said they either didn't see anything; they either needed the insulation removed to make a real assessment, or they saw a couple holes but it didn't look like an active infestation. Jorge also saw a hole in our bedroom caused by a termite and said we would need to treat that area as well. I showed a few other inspectors that exact hole and they thought it was at best inconclusive - hard to tell how old or new that hole was, and no other signs of active infestation. Jorge also saw dry wood termites on our back deck. Three other inspectors looked in the same exact spots and two of them saw wet wood termites, which you can't really do anything about. To Jorge's credit, he did see powder post beetles in a crawlspace which was confirmed by other inspectors. He recommended we change our toilet wax ring which may be faltering and leading to extra moisture near that crawl space. I've since had a plumber over and we determined that because there was no water leaking out, I didn't need to change the wax ring. I do now know to watch out for that issue, though. While Jorge was extremely nice and easy to talk to, he definitely used some subtle scare tactics (e.g. talking about how we definitely have a whole colony of termites somewhere in our house) that made me very eager to use their services immediately. He said his quote would be higher than other companies' but they offer a 3-year structural warranty on their termite treatment, which is why they have a higher cost. I have since found out that the state requires a 2-year structural warranty on termite treatment. So yes, Hi Tech's warranty is slightly better, but not as unique or special as Jorge makes it out to be. read more

Although we didnt go with Hitech I HAVE to say the inspector Mark Maola was so smart, helpful, and patient. They did a FULL free inspection and detailed report with photos that was very thorough. We asked 3 different companies to do inspections and provide quotes. The other companies didnt even bother and just wanted to tent/treat. HiTech was the only one that crawled in the crawlspace and attic and looked at everything. If we had more money we would have chosen Hitech to do the work. Their pricing is competitive but we found another deal from a differnt reputable company that was half the price. I am confident HiTech Termites does good and thorough honest work. read more

I made this call for my mother; once I called the staff member over the phone was very helpful-she helped me get an appointment with a technician to do an inspection right before thanksgiving. During the day of the appointment, my technician called me ahead of time to let me know he was on his was, I really liked how he was 15 min early, because that helped me go on with my day. My technician was really friendly and educated me a lot on the different type of treatments, walked me through what the process would look like from beginning to end. One day, my kids were playing in the living room and screamed saying "ewwww what is that?". I proceeded to take a look and asked them if they were eating a toasted bagel in that corner of the living room because it looked like someone had an "everything bagel" and left crumbs EVERYWHERE in that one section. Took pictures and did a quick google search to find out it was termite droppings coming out of a pin hole size out of the ceiling. I got on yelp and reached out to a handful of businesses. Let's just say, Jim at Hi Tech was the most thorough in his inspection and the recommendations and quote came in A LOT lower than the other competing businesses. The staff wore shoe covers in the house, cleaned up after themselves and the surrounding areas and explained everything in detail so my wife and I understood what work and treatments were being used. We received an unplanned call (on Sunday) from Jim at High Tech Termite to review our situation ahead of our appointment that was to happen the next day. After we told him what our problem was, and after reviewing pictures and video from us, he concluded that the type of termite that we have doesn't require treatment, even though many companies would say that it does. He said what we needed to do was fix our water leak and things would naturally die off. He said if we wanted to have immediate relief, we could use Windex or OTC termite sprays until the leak is fixed. We are very impressed by Jim and High Tech Termite being so up-front and showing great integrity and thoughtfulness. A rare find these days so celebrate it when you can. read more

I found termite frass (droppings) around the baseboard of my bedroom. I took a picture of the frass, and left it there. Your instinct is to clean up the droppings, but don't! Leave it so that the termite inspection folk can see it. Anyhow, I immediately jumped on Yelp! to search for termite control. After reading through couple of reviews and companies, I decided to submit a request for a free inspection with three highly rated companies. Hi Tech was the first to respond, mind you this was on a Saturday. I was asked to contact their office on Monday to schedule an appointment. When Monday morning came around I was able to schedule for a free inspection a week after. The appointment setter was upfront, and provided some estimate cost of their service, which as a homeowner I really appreciate the transparency. I setup an inspection a week later and was off the phone in less than 10 min. On the day of the inspection, Jim the estimator came on time, was respectful with my property, and most of all, he was detailed in his inspection. Jim crawled underneath the house and the hot attic to ensure all areas are inspected. This was all free, and he spent about an hour documenting areas that required treatment, and suggested localized treatment plan. The other termite companies came and spent less than 5 min. before suggesting fumigation. It's easier to suggest fumigation because most of the termite companies subcontract out the fumigation because they get a cut without the risk. I decided to go with Hi Tech because of those reasons above. Also, the cost was 1/3 of fumigation and they provided a three year warranty. The day of the treatment, the tech explained the steps and answered all of my questions. They treated the crawl space, sprayed the attic, and treated the baseboards. They also treated a few areas in my garage as well. It took about four hours to complete, and they wore shoes protection when inside my house and vacuumed up most areas, but not all areas. I had to vacuum a few areas after they left. All in all it was pretty painless, except the payment part. If you plan to pay by credit, they will write down your credit card info on the invoice and process later. Some folks may feel uneasy about this process. read more

This review is NOT about Hi-Tech, but about the fumigation services they outsource & contract with. If I can give this Best Care Fumigation 0 stars I would. Our fumigation was scheduled for Saturday morning. They contacted PG&E to shut our gas off, but we weren't aware of what time PG&E would come due to Best Care's lack of communication. They came, tented, & left before PG&E can come, so it delayed fumigation until Monday. Whatever, it got done. They removed the tent Wednesday morning. We didn't stay the night at our house that night to err on the cautious side. However, all doors & windows were locked. CUSTOMER BEWARE: That same very night, our house was broken into, all tools stolen. About $2.5k of tools, gone. Obvious forced point of entry. We've been doing renovations, which this company obviously saw. BELIEVE THE REVIEWS OF THEFT!! I think this company is shady, & either one of their employees or a friend is being told which houses to target. Fuck this place. read more

We were so sad when we realized we had active termites in our house. After researching speaking with several local companies who treat termites, it was clear that Hi Tech Termite Control was the way to go. Benjamin, our inspector, was courteous, knowledgeable, and thorough. When others just took a quick look up at the infested skylight area, Benjamin climbed up with his ladder and really took time to look carefully and get an accurate assessment of our situation. Because he took a closer look, he saw that we had damage behind sheetrock and recommended we open up some walls so he could come back and see if and what was happening inside the walls. Thank goodness we did because when Benjamin came out again once the walls were open, he was able to see and let us know that the termites were behind the walls and in the attic crawl space. We were so happy that Benjamin came back out a third time to help with the treatment with another technician Jerelle (sp?) - they did a great job! Benjamin went above and beyond to climb into a really tight space to make sure all affected areas were treated. The office team was also very kind and easy to communicate with. Some companies weren't able to schedule for weeks out, but with Hi Tech Termite we were able to schedule appointments sooner and easily. And got our reports and bids within a day of inspection. I called them and they were able to schedule an evaluation a few days later. Ben Ortiz came out and confirmed I had an infestation of Subterranean termites in the apartment. I decided to have them evaluate the entire property and glad I did. They found several areas along the building perimeter of more termite colonies. They provided me a full termite report and a bid for the treatment which was very reasonable. We scheduled the treatment a few days later. James and Sean came out to do the work.
