Unsure how to edit or add to a recent review in spite of the lack of customer service upfront the deli people great

Ok Price Chopper, I see you. Basics at basic prices. Nicer items also at competitive prices. I think if this was my home area I'd be stopping in to shop regularly. Today I just needed La Croix and a banana for an upcoming road trip. I got both for under $2. No complaints with that! Self-checkout was fast and easy - and staffed in case it wasn't. read more

I like the store. It is clean and well stocked. Hate the online coupons. I've had a Chopper Card for years. I get a flyer once a week in the mail but I can't seem to get the coupons to download. It's frustrating that PC informs me of a coupon deal and then makes me jump through online hoops to take advantage of the deal. Ugh! read more

I was checking out this last weekend and Juan checked me out with my items and had a sour look on his face and was very rude and aggressive bagging my items, considering the fact i had fragile items like eggs. I have heard other stories from people about him and I hope this gets sorted out which ever way this needs to. Thank you! read more

Unfriendly staff. I checked out with Damaris and she did not speak a word to me and had a look of disgust in her eye. I even asked a question and got no response. After I was finished paying I had to bag my own groceries. Very terrible service but they had the items I needed. read more

I love shopping at this store. It is always clean and for the most part well stocked.

I had never been to a Price Chopper until we moved to Gardner, Kansas. Since we have been here we have had nothing but great things to say about this grocery store. The store is very clean. The employees are very friendly. And they do seem to have some good deals in their weekly adds. Particularly impressive is their deli counter. They have a great spread of sliced deli meats and cheeses. They have a rotating menu of prepared deli entrees and sides to choose from. And they have a lot of different prepared/packaged meals that are all done there at the deli (varieties of chicken salads, wraps, sandwiches, hot cooked chicken breast, hot dogs, brats, etc...). They also have a nice salad bar with lots of fresh cut fruit. They have a nice seafood counter with a good selection of fish and shell fish. And they have a pharmacy. Glad this is our new neighborhood store. read more

Was in Gardner for a dr appointment, so we thought we'd stop in and see what they had for carry out prepared food. Pleasantly surprised at the layout of the new place. Went to where they had a hot food buffet and a place to order food they would make. They were advertising a special for some sushi, and for "Grill Night" on Mondays. Ordered cheeseburgers for our kids, but when I wanted the particular sushi special, they said they didn't have anyone there to make it. So I ordered a shrimp pro' boy from the advertised special menu. Told me they couldn't make that because they didn't have any. So two things you are advertising about you don't have available for the customers? How do you not have something that you are advertising as a special for that night? Spoke with the manager about these issues, and he said a company comes in during the day to make sushi, then leaves after they are done. If you're advertising a special kind of sushi that is "freshly available" for the month, they'd better be making extra of that so it's available the rest of the evening. When I told him about the shrimp sandwich, he said he knew they had enough shrimp in the kitchen, it just needed to be fried. So apparently, "we can't make that because we don't have it" means "We don't care what you want, we're too lazy to take the time to actually make more shrimp." Manager offered to make them cook more shrimp so I could have the sandwich, but our burgers were cooked and paid for, and I wasn't going to make my kids eat a cold burger just so I could make someone do their job they get paid to do. Besides, I was so ticked at the lazy attitude, I lost my appetite for anything to eat. This entitled, lazy attitude has permeated so much of our society in the last couple of years. I shudder to think what the state of our country will be by the time my grandkids are grown with all the selfish people out there in the world now. read more

Tonight, at about 1045, I went to the Gardner Price Chopper to pick up some last minute Superbowl party items so I could beat the weekend rush. I was there specifically to get the Argentine Red Shrimp that were on sale in addition to the other mandatory party items like sodas, cream cheese and a few other items we still needed for our party. I checked the frozen section for the shrimps and I could not find the ones that I wanted. The stockers in the frozen section were very busy unpacking their pallets and stocking, but one of them stopped and asked me if he could help me find something. I showed him a picture from the ad of the shrimp that I was looking for and he and another frozen section stocker said they knew exactly what I was looking for and took me to the location where the shrimp would be. Unfortunately, they were sold out and the case area was empty. They both offered to check in the back for me. I declined and said I would just come back tomorrow and check then. I continued my shopping. A short time later, one of the gentlemen walked up to me with a box under his arm and told me that they just started working a new pallet and the exact thing I was looking for was on top. He asked me if I still wanted the shrimp. I indicated that I absolutely did. He opened the box and handed me a package and asked if I wanted another one. Heck yes I did! These gentlemen that were stocking took time out of their busy schedule to offer to help me. They took time to help me find what I was looking for, and they took the time to make sure I got the exact product that I wanted and even upsold me a package. I always enjoy going to the Price Chopper in Gardner. It's always clean, well lit, and the aisles are wide. The employees are always very nice. These two gentlemen went above and beyond what I would expect of someone. I would count myself lucky to have them working for me. I did not get their names but they are night stockers in the frozen fish section and the time of our interactions were approximately 1045pm-1050pm. Kudos to them. read more

Day before thanksgiving I would expect the store to be crazy, but it wasn't. One thing great about this store is that they always have cashiers ready and available. They are all friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't like is the parking lot. It is not very organized especially by the front doors. Sometimes it's hard to see people walk out when you are by the pillars. read more

I personally don't live in Gardner but I go out of the way to shop at this store because they are rarely out of what I need and the customer service is awesome! I have been in the grocery business my entire life (I'm 57 ) and I do go out of the way to notice the finer details that most people take for granted and I have to say that this is one of the cleanest stores I have been in and the employees always seem happy and eager to help whenever it is needed. A huge shout out goes to Price Chopper and the awesome service that they provide for the community! read more

Great place, decent prices, very community-focused.

Used their online delivery service and then started to get charged $99 every once in awhile for no reason. Had to file a fraudulent complaint with my credit card then issued a new card to fix. Do not use their delivery service! read more

Love this store. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Would have given 5 star rating but have had outdated items in the dairy case on a few occaisions. I did make management aware and they pulled items immediately. read more
