Peace out Queens Price Chopper!
Andrea D.

I am done shopping here-official boycott- after more than 18 years after my terminally ill husband (who is the kindest person ever) was treated rudely and scolded by a cashier for accidentally leaving his wallet at home. Sorry guy-he kind of has a few things on his mind. Additionally, the majority of the younger cashiers and baggers are so rude. I always say "thank you" or "I appreciate that you didn't make my bags too heavy" or "I hope you have a great rest of your day" and more often than not, I get a blank stare and no response at all! It's so weird! Groceries are soooo expensive these days and customers need to be appreciated and treated in a professional way. But today was the last straw. I will pay more and have to drive a little further out of my way, but that's ok. This store has been our main place for 18+ years... both my husband and my son worked there for a while. D.O.N.E.

This is not my normal grocery store, but it is convenient to the 151st area when running errands. It has a great deli and food counter with nice atmosphere for seating (fireplace, incandescent bulbs instead of all fluorescent). It also has a nice upscale feel to it and friendly people. I understand that they are about to go through a remodel. I'd like to see how that turns out :-)

This is one of my favorite grocery store! And this week they're having great deals on steaks, lobster tails, desserts and flowers just in time for valentines week! Beside these deals, I can always rely on them having fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and maintain a clean store. Often when you go to a larger store the check out wait is a bit longer, you don't have to worry about it here! Their staff are always ready to help. I count on them stocking items that my family needs for the week and they never failed! Keep up the great work guys!

I ordered flowers from FTD website and they sent it to Kimberly queens floral inside Queens Price Chopper. I reviewed what my mother received and said it looks like something I bought at a grocery store, low and behold, they did come from a grocery store. Much smaller than the flowers I ordered and poorly arranged. I am not happy as I paid for the largest arrangement and maybe received the middle size. Don't get flowers here they are awful. I am posting a pic of what was received, they look like they fell over in the truck and were thrown back in the case. In the picture the dark flowers on the left is what my mother received and the flowers on the right were what I ordered.

This is one of the nicest grocery stores in the Country, and yes it is a Price Chopper but it is independently owned by the Queens family and ran well. The Eatery is outstanding, Best place for Breakfast in southern Joco you can get the breakfast buffet for 5.99 and my wife gets an egg mcmuffin sandwich for $2.50. They also have the New Coke machine!

This is not your ordinary price chopper. I remember going here a couple of years ago, before the remodel, and back then it was just a very clean grocery store in an upscale part of town. Since then, it's undergone a complete transformation into a grocery store worth a trip across town from time to time. In addition to a very well stocked traditional grocery store, this price chopper has a very good meat section, the best in a "regular" grocery store I've seen. They have a very well stocked and fresh produce section, as well as an organic/gluten-free/other popular diets section for those interested in such things. That section also has a pretty good self-serve dry goods section with a good assortment of nuts, grains, and snacks. They also have a very good "freshly made" section, with sushi, a bakery (sweets and non), popcorn stand, smoked meats, and, my personal favorite, a fresh tortilla chip/pita chip station. My fiancé can't get enough of the fresh pita chips. These are all reasonably priced, and are very fresh. They also have an in-store eatery, which isn't quite so uncommon in stores like this, but theirs is a cut above. With an impressive salad bar, hibachi grill, burger/sandwich grill, and more you have a very wide amount of options. With the exception of the fried chicken "home-y" section, it is all cooked fresh when you order it. We had a triple decker Reuben and a Hawaiian chicken sandwich and were quite impressed. Overall, when I need to get a wide variety of groceries, especially when I need one or two specialty items but don't want to go to a gourmet store, this is my grocery store of choice. The service is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and since the new remodel it is obvious that the owners take great pride in their business.

The pizza guy gave us some good intel on what to get and not get, and our pies were made perfectly and brought out hot to us. The bakery has a great selection of freshly made cookies, cakes and other fun items and they were all reasonably priced. I had a peanut butter explosion and the other ladies had some fun frosted sugar cookies. For me the cookies were too crumbly but they loved them. The reason for 3 stars was lack of customer service. I had to go to the front to get cups for soft drinks. The woman I approached didn't say 1 word to me when I told her what I needed. She just walked away to a register where she rang in my purchase. It would have been nice had she said, "follow me," or "I can help you with that." But i figured out what she was doing and paid at the register and then told her I had a problem. She said, "what?" with an irritated tone. I told her I needed the cups I had just paid for. Again, she walked away from me, apparently expecting me to follow her, and I did. Then she asked another employee to hand me the cups. The other woman did that and I thanked her. The cashier who rang up our few groceries was pleasant and the bagger actually joked with me, so at least I had that as I was leaving.

But this review is more a story about how this place operates. Every Veteran's Day area HyVee's have a breakfast for Vets. My little brother (Army Vet) and I (Navy Vet) go each year. Mostly so we can let the people at HyVee know that we appreciate not only the breakfast but that they as a company and as individuals that VOLUNTEER to work the event, are deeply appreciated. So special shout-out to them for their time and consideration! As for the grocery store itself. It is exactly what you want out of a grocery store. Some of the things I really love: Bright and Clean Huge Selection Meat counter people are really helpful Food counters are usually well stocked and organized. Some things that need improvement: Produce selection. Good Basics but there seems to be no expanded offerings. Also while on produce... they at one time had a lot of the precut onion and veg and did a good job maintaining that. But, that has slipped. Bakery. So many wonderful options. But, there is no one willing to talk with anybody at that counter ever. And the one thing that bugs me about every grocery store... impolite shoppers! Hey, we all want to get in and get out with what we hafta get... we can do so politely and courteously. Look up. Pay attention to what is going on around you. Ask yourself if you are going to be specifically getting in someones way/personal space? Ask yourself if you are about to run into someone with your cart? -Sigh- this does NOT influence the stars for this HyVee.

I love this store because it's the nearest store to go to return Amazon products. It also has a wide variety of meat, selections, cheese selections, and an amazing hot bar. You can get food items ranging from pizza to fried chicken to Indian curry plus incredible soups like minestrone and clam chowder. They have a wide variety of salads and cold food items like Sushi and sandwiches as well to offer. I recently checked out their cake selection and was blown away by the variety of decorative cupcakes they have started to carry. There is a cute little space near the entrance where you can enjoy the hot/cold bar food items. Apart from the above selections, they also have tons of frozen products, dairy items, vegetables, holistic medicines like supplements, clean skincare and makeup, and so on available for purchase. However, if I compare it with other stores, the pricing does tend to be on the higher side. That's why I do not do all my grocery shopping here. it's always clean. The staff is friendly approachable, and very helpful. If not for groceries, I would definitely recommend you to going in and trying their hot bar because you wouldn't regret it!! It's literally a one stop shop with everything you could want.

I also had a decaf iced latte, which was tasty. Both my mom and I agreed that the food was good and richly flavored. The employee who served us was both nice and knowledgeable, answering any questions we had about food options we weren't familiar with in easy to understand, succinct terms. When I went (mid afternoon on a Tuesday) it was pretty quiet, with one employee in the front and a couple of other patrons seated. There was some pop music in the background on low volume, which I appreciated. Overall the vibe at that time of day on a weekday was very calm. I'm interested in checking out their karaoke, live music, and tea time nights/events in the future. They definitely look like fun ways to spend some time!
