I moved into the Cary area and decided not to travel back to Durham for my previous eye doctor. I did an internet search and decided to try Preson's. The office is nicely appointed, clean and has plenty of parking right out front. I was treated very well, from the receptionist to the eyewear fitting. All of the employees were polite, kind yet professional. I really liked the doctor who listened to my history and gave me a very good exam. They have a large selection of glasses and I was able to find several that I liked. The nice lady who helped me was so patient and helpful. I am so glad I found Preston's Optometry. read more

Slept over my glasses and woke up with a twisted frame. Not good! A quick search for an optician resulted in a very pleasant visit to Preston. There I was greeted by the reception desk lady who swiftly asked me to take a seat over the optician area. The optician, my apologies because I cannot remember her name, knew exactly why I was there! The twisted frame was obvious. Politely she took the frame back with her to her magic place and returned with a perfectly aligned frame. On top of that she performed the repair free of charge! I would strongly recommend Preston Optometry Center! I have been being helped by Dr. Rousselo and the amazing staff there for several years now. Before becoming a patient there, I had used several different optometry clinics for years, getting service that was okay but never wanting me to stay with any given place. When I started with Dr. Rousselo, I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the staff and care I received. Several years later, that has not changed!!! So my glasses broke, and I needed to come in to pick out new frames and order new glasses. Sarah was excellent in helping me choose a new frame and she also found a way to allow me to use a different set of glasses for the 2 week period while my new frames were being ordered. Sarah was very nice and thinks "outside the box" on solutions to problems. Their staff is one of the rudest I have found. Never properly checking the prescription upon getting the glasses back and just trying to upsell expensive progressives. A particular one goes on to preach loudly how we dont know how insurance works. Dont go there for glasses. Optometrist is okay. read more

Dr. Rousselo and his team went out of their way to help me with getting an eye exam, glasses, and contact lenses. I was in a tight spot and they were able to work with me to get my needs taken care of. Their front desk staff was kind and friendly when greeting me and the glasses fitter made sure I had all the time I needed to pick out the pair of glasses that were perfect for me. I did not feel pressured or rushed to make a decision. Preston Optometry Center is also accessible and there was plenty of space inside for me to maneuver around in my wheelchair. They were very helpful in accommodating how much time I had to spend moving from their seating equipment to my chair and wanted me to be as comfortable as possible. Dr. Rousselo was professional and polite and remembered who I was when I made my return visit to pick up my glasses. I have been a patient at Preston Optometry for over 12 years; my eye exams there have been just serviceable, but Lora's professionalism and excellence at recommending and fitting eyewear kept me coming back. Recently, I purchased glasses from them, but had trouble focusing, even though they were brand new. When I returned to Preston to troubleshoot the problem, I had trouble getting an appointment because they couldn't figure out how to bill insurance for a second visit. Then, at the visit,I was callously informed by Dr. Russolo that there was nothing he could do. My vision was as good as he could get it. He did a quick web search and referred me to a Lasik provider. I am not a good candidate for Lasik and have never considered surgery. That was that. No further explanation or reassurance. I wasn't even given a referral OR a diagnosis. The upshot is this. If you have pretty standard eyewear needs and don't mind paying a literal boatload (most frames start at $200 and go well over $350) be my guest. The prices are high, but the selection is good and the folks who fit your glasses are knowledgeable. But.......if you are depending on Dr. Russolo for long term service, guidance, and care for your vision.... go elsewhere now. Don't be deceived by good reviews or Maggie awards because culture starts at the top and Dr. Russolo couldn't care less about you or your vision needs. He puts on a good show at the beginning, but fundamentally, he's just not all that interested. I'd rather go to several doctors who care as opposed to one who literally could not care less about my ability to see. e read more

I had a very bad experience today. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment but called and and informed them. My daughter had an exam which was rescheduled for this appointment.The manager and the front desk was very rude and told us to reschedule even after we informed them that we are running late. i will never advise any one to go there. I choose this practice after reading Dr. Rousselo's biography. I was impressed with his credentials and volunteer work. Dr. Rousselo and his team were very patient and knowledgeable. I have been going to see this eye doctor since I moved to N.C., and, like the previous reviews have been saying, he definitely cares about his patients. He is always professional and ensures that your eyesight is the best that it can be. He was the one who helped me get my glasses, and then when I transitioned to contacts, he helped me choose the brand and taught me how to put them in and take them out. The staff at the office are very nice as well and they keep track of everything. When I went, my sister didn't even realize that we had credit from a previous appointment, but we were able to use that credit towards our current appointment. I've been nearsighted nearly all my life, and have eyes that fatigue easily, making eye exams frustrating for both me and the doctor. For this, Dr. Rousselo has been great. He and his staff are friendly & professional during regular appointments as well as drop-bys when I've got my minor emergencies (glasses need adjustment or screws go missing). This last time, I found out they carry a line of plastic/acetate glasses that fit my asian nose (TC Charlton). For Asians, finding glasses frames that fit have always been a challenge, so this was a really pleasant surprise. read more

I saw Dr. Ken Rousselo a couple years ago and when he didn't get the prescription right at first and I expressed my need for good vision because of the type of work I do, he told me "well get a different job!" He was not joking, it was a snide comment with annoyance in his voice. He charged me extra to be seen again even though my insurance already paid him for a revisit. To this day they still spam me with emails despite my attempts to stop them. I think Dr. Rousselo should "get a different job" since he's clearly has a problem with doing his! read more

I was looking for a new eye doctor who doesn't have a high pressure glasses/frames sales staff. I'm happy to say my exam and experience was excellent. Everyone was really nice and NO pressure to look at or buy new glasses. As a matter of fact the doctor told me my prescription changed so little that I could keep wearing my old glasses or I could have them just replace the lenses to avoid the cost of new frames. Every staff member was super nice and helpful. Dr. Rousselo took time to fully examine my eyes and find the root of the problems I had been having. He explained what was going on and how to fix it without pushing for more expensive glasses or medication. I appreciated his wonderful chair-side manner. I was very upfront with everyone at the office that I was only coming in for a one time visit, but they treated me like I had been a long time patient. I am sorry I discovered them only after planning a move across the country. Although they did ask if I was going to look at glasses while I was there, I did not feel pressured to buy from them. Other than Dr. Rousselo my experience was awful. The woman that did my exam did not know what she was doing and the doctor had to go back to correct. I am on my third set of frames in 18 months. Initially in less than 2 months the silicon ear piece covers came off, when new frames came in they installed lenses and one lens popped out in less than 3 hours. When I returned they told me to be careful that designer frames are delicate ??? In less than 9 months on the replacement frames a gasket on the lower portion fell out. When I returned with the frames and said that I never had this many problems I was told "too bad for you". Well today one of the lenses popped out again and when I looked they had not been fastened properly. I only wear these at my desk job as I am not confident that they will hold up to anything else. This time I repaired on my as they obviously do not know how what they are doing. read more

Very very bad customer service. We have been patients of Dr. Russelo for over 20 years. I took my designer glasses to his practice for a slight adjustment when one of his assistants broke it and did not offer any compensation for it. After voicing out my unhappiness, they finally offered a replacement at my own cost! It seems they only care about money and nothing else. My family has been seeing Dr. Rousselo for almost 15 years now. We cannot be happier. Contrary to the bogus bad review, Dr. Rousselo has always been professional, courteous and genuinely interested in our well being. One year, he even dropped our contacts off by our house on his way home! The office staff have always been courteous and very helpful with our glasses. I've had my yearly eye exams here for a long time - Dr. Rousselo is professional but has a great personality, is very knowledgeable, and answers questions thoroughly. It's a friendly atmosphere; I've never had the desire to have my eye exams completed elsewhere, even though there are several options closer to my home (note: they will be moving to a new location on Cary Parkway near the Fresh Market, next year).
