Extremely difficult to get in touch with. They never pick up the phone, you have to leave a voicemail or text with him and they only occasionally get back to you. read more

I'm new to the state and have been looking for a new optometrist. I'm so glad I found this place. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. I also love their Covid protocols- it felt very clean. It's appointment only to control the amount of people in the store. They also take your temperature and everyone has to keep their mask on. I also love their wide variety of glasses. read more

Through some mixup, likely my doing, I arrived for an appointment that did not exist. However, they were able to fit me in at approximately the same time that I thought my appointment was. The entire team was so courteous, professional, and helpful. This was my first experience with this group after several years with a large multi site practice. Here I felt like I received the attention that I needed and at a personal level vs my prior eye doctors office. read more

My vision has quickly started to deteriorate which has made driving at night a bit challenging--clear the roads! It was "clear" that a vision test was in order. I found Stonehenge vision on yelp. The high reviews made it an easy choice. The staff was able to get me an appointment rather quickly--which is great considering I was trying to submit the claim with this years insurance and I'm headed out of town for the holidays. Staff was friendly and approachable. Office was clean and well lit. Parking was abundant. Minimal registration paperwork--which I love. Equipment was clean and modern. Frame selection was abundant--great selection with frames of different price points for every budget. Dr. Oberdorf was lovely. Great demeanor and genuine concern for patients. Highly recommend Stonehenge Vision Source. read more

Stonehenge Vision Source - Reception area and eyeglass selection area. - Optometrists Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

We are new to NC and was referred to Stonehenge Vision and what great customer service from all. We were running a little late and they took us in with a smile and we didn't have to wait long, very accommodating! The front desk greeted us with a smile and Kaitlin was so helpful in working through the red tape of insurance. All were very customer service oriented and just a pleasant group of staff we really enjoyed dealing With them. Dr. Hanna was amazing and very knowledgeable plus she had Great chair side manners and worked with me to make sure my vision examine was perfect With glasses and contacts. I have had eye examinations where the doctor was quick and dry, not Dr. Hanna she was very nice. My husband and I will be back and I highly recommend this vision place. read more

Awesome experience from start to finish. I found this place through my insurance provider list and with the help of my fellow Yelpers. I was so excited to make an appointment with Dr. Oberdorf based on the reviews. However, since there were no available appointments with him, I saw Dr. Hanna...who's fairly new to the office. She was wonderful! Dr. Hanna is funny, helpful and knowledgeable...a great combination for someone with whom to trust your eye care experience. The exam was quick without being rushed or feeling incomplete. Bonus: I was able to get both my contact and eyewear needs handled in the same place. I say this because some places offer frames but not any you'd really want to buy. Stonehenge has a great selection and they work to make sure you're getting your needs met. If I ever move back, I'm definitely going here again. read more

For the last few years, I've been hopping around the Triangle searching for an amazing ophthalmologist. I found it! This place actually EXCEEDED my expectations! Max(?) was wonderful. She ran all the initial tests and explained everything to me. She ran copies of a visit I made with a specialist at Duke and added them to my file for me. She took questions I had and got them ready for the doctor. She was personable and made a little goodie bag of eye drops for me to take home. Dr. Hannah was also awesome. She was very, very patient and more knowledgeable than I expected about a corneal condition I was diagnosed with last year. She answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed *at all.* My appointment flowed well and I left feeling more educated about my eyes overall. Before leaving I met with the optometrist, Paul. He spent about an hour with me, going over my options, running figures to get the most out of my insurance, taught me about the different types of lenses and add-ons, and helped me make an informed decision. I wanted lenses only for my eyeglasses and lenses + frames for my Rx sunglasses. I was never pressured to buy two new frames instead of one, like I have been with other practices. I even left under my budget. He was superb. I came home and raved about Stonehenge so much I convinced my boyfriend to try them out, too. THANK YOU to this amazing practice, I am so glad I found it. read more

I had an appointment in January for myself and my family. In December my one lens cracked severely, skewing my vision. I called to see if I could get a prescription for the one lens or a work-in appointment for the one lens since I had a true follow up appointment in January. I was told Dr. Oberdorf said no. So I ended up driving I-95 for 16 hours with only one working lens. Most doctors will help patients in the short term with minor emergencies. But not here. Very very disappointed in the care. My family has moved to another office. As the office later dictated on their response to this review that they RECORD ALL CONVERSATIONS: My glasses suddenly broke before we were to get in the car for our trip. Obviously impossible to do an appointment offered on dates after we were gone. The were not immediate appointments. Glasses break at inopportune times. I did NOT ask for a new whole prescription, but for ONLY ONE EYE and I had a follow up appointment. It is like a medical doctor saying they won't refill a heart medication for a few days because the pills were accidentally stepped on. My point of your lack of caring about your patients is being proved by your response. Maybe the next time a patient calls with something like this you will think twice about rejecting caring for them. And yes, I am getting fabulous care from another office. read more

First, Dr. Oberdorf is a great optometrist. He is professional, thorough, personable and accommodating. I'd return just for him. The staff he has is also stellar. Every person I saw was nice and knowledgeable. I also want to give huge kudos to John and Paul, the two opticians. Both are very nice and extremely knowledgeable. If you have a problem with glasses you ordered, they will not only work hard to fix the problem (along with Dr. Oberdorf if a re-exam is needed), they will actually take the time to explain what is happening and why. I really can't say enough about how good my first experience with this office was. They have a loyal customer from here out. read more

I went in for an eye exam and to see about getting contacts. This was my first time going to them due to a change in insurance. I'd say within 10 minutes of waiting in the lobby, I was called in to be seen. The nurse did the initial stuff. Then I probably only waited about another 5 minutes before the doctor came in. He was very professional, gave me good input, and got me some contacts. I then had the other front girl do the "first contact lesson", as I like to call it. She gave me great tips and was a big help. It took me about 20 minutes to get through "the lesson". Then almost immediately, the doctor took another look at my eyes in the exam room and gave me the thumbs up. They addressed my concerns in a timely manner, got me everything that I went in there for in the first place, and were extremely courteous and professional the entire time. I don't know about you, but that's all I ever need from a medical office! 5 stars all the way!!!! read more

I was looking for a new eye doctor as my previOus one turned a routine exam into a 3 hour odyssey. I found Stonehenge Vision through a Google search, looked at their website and decided to give it a try. The worst that could happen is that I'd be looking for a new eye doctor for the next year. The office staff and technicians are friendly and efficient. They will not waste your time. Dr. Oberdorf is likewise friendly with a calm pleasant demeanor. He made me feel at ease. We discussed my medical history and past and present eye problems. He helped me monitor my cataracts and helped me make an informed decision when it was time to have one removed. The office coordinated my appointment with the surgeon, and then called me with follow appointments post surgery. I would highly recommend Stonehenge Vision for excellent eye care!! read more

Truly great shop with pleasant, competent, responsive people. Pricing is on the high end but far from eye-watering, and it is WELL WORTH THE MONEY for the consistently high level of competency and professionalism you will find here. I would hold back a half-star because everything seems to take 3 weeks to come back from their lens grinder, but that's not worth a whole star so I am giving benefit of doubt. read more

Very disappointed with this office! Based on reviews, we tried it with a new prescription. The gentleman who helped us initially kept steering toward less expensive frames, and less expensive features. We gave no indication we were looking for a bargain, yet he kept focusing on the money rather than the quality. We should have walked away right then. My husband and I had to call twice and leave messages ( no one answered the phone during business hours either time) before someone called us back to say his glasses were in and would be "verified" then ready by that afternoon. We arrived to find that the prescription had not been filled correctly and that the glasses would have to be returned and the lenses remade. Once the glasses were "verified" we should have been notified they weren't correct. The whole experience with Stonehenge Vision Source has been weird, from the phone never being answered to the poor customer service to the inferior product. Steer clear! read more

My first experience with Stonehenge Vision was excellent from the quickness of being seen to the politeness of the Dr's and staff it was a 10 all around. Once realizing I needed glasses for the first time Dr O made me very comfortable and described the whole process and what glasses would work best. I use an HSA or health savings account and they gave me 20% off my lenses and glasses! I highly recommend Stonehenge Vision. read more

Dr. Oberdorf is a very patient, competent and caring eye doctor. I appreciate the time he takes in explaining my situation and options to me and the thoroughness with which he answers my questions. He communicates in a very clear, concise and down to earth manner. All other aspects of his practice are very good, but it is his manner he has with his patients that really stands out. I would recommend him highly. read more

Amazing doctors and staff! Very thorough eye check up- have been coming here for several years.

Customer service is superb. They have a good variety of frames and many lenses' options but what set them apart is the unparalleled service they provide. Everyone in this practice is concerned about the patient wellbeing. Highly recommended. read more

Office was clean and extra precautions were made to ensure safety. All staff wore masks, were friendly and professional. MD performed a thorough exam and provided new education on treatment of my eye condition. I also bought new glasses while there. They had many selections from current designers. I am picky about my eyewear and the optician was friendly and patient. Overall, it was a great experience! read more

After receiving a prescription for my daughter's glasses from another Dr's office, I decided to shop for her glasses. Majority of the places I checked, the price range for the pair of eye glasses were $320.00-$350.00 I found this office on the internet, and decided to give them a call, not really knowing what to expect. From the moment I spoke to Destiny and the Optometrist, John. I knew this was the office my daughter would come to. The minute we stepped into this office, we were greeted with a smile and a very helpful lady. She was there to help my daughter and I through the " a twelve year old girl, gets her first pair of glasses process". My daughter is picky, which is well with me, I would have been the same way at her age. Once my daughter picked out her glasses, John was even more helpful, patient, professional, and cool. His demeanor is calm, and patient with his customers. He one of the individuals you came across in life and never forget, because of his positive impression. He provided me with the glasses my daughter needed, and they were very reasonable. They are pretty stylish glasses for a twelve year old John treated us very kind, as if we were million dollar customers. This was my very first time having to her glasses for my daughter. I will also be getting myself an eye exam, and a pair of glasses from this place also. If you or your child, need a pair of glasses please bring them to this place. Once you know the price of the glasses, and are paying with cash. Please bring the exact amount, one of the ladies at the front desk, explained to me it does help. This place has a 5 star rating for a reason. It is truly a 5 star place in reality. read more

I also chose Stonehenge Vision Source based on the yelp reviews and boy was I beyond satisfied! Let me list the pros and cons. Pros: 1.) Friendly staff 2.) Practically no wait time 3.) Modern top of the line facility 4.) Very flexible scheduling 5.) Many more I am forgetting cons: 1.) ZERO I have been to many eye doctors before Dr. Oberdorf and every single one I went to I got really anxious and stressed out during the initial exam. I went to Stonehenge and now I no longer stress about going to the eye doctor. He is very friendly and treated me like family. Come to think about it, I'm actually excited to go back! If you have eye problems or even if your eyes are perfect go here, you will be glad you did!!!! read more

Super efficient, friendly and helpful! Their COVID protocols are clear and easy to follow, and they clean everything all the time so you can feel assured that they are thorough! Dr. Hanna was particularly professional and helpful. read more

Excellent first visit experience! Dr. Oberdorf and the staff at Stonehenge Vision Source are outstanding and I would highly recommend giving them a try for your eye care needs. The assistants and the doctor are very thorough and take the time to explain procedures and go over the photographs taken of your eyes in great detail, and do not give you a feeling of being rushed to get through your appointment, which was one of the reasons I sought out a new eye doctor in the first place. Based on the many positive reviews, I made an appointment, and I am very happy that I did. read more

Customer service was dreadful. I had an 11:20am appointment that I showed up to on time. I filled out paperwork in about 3 minutes. Then someone comes in after I filled out my paperwork, sits down and they call him instead of me for an exam. I am forced to sit there for another 25 minutes. I inquired why I had not been seen and the person does not answer but just says that I would be seen soon. Another 10 goes by and no one sees me. I walked out. If you have an appointment, that appointment time should be honored. read more

I just recently moved to Raleigh from up north. I had some issues with my eyes and hopped on yelp for a doc. The office got me an appointment as soon as i was available. Very thorough examination, Dr. Oberdorf clearly related his recommendations on my particular situation as well as discussing the overall health of my eyes. What he suggested was conservative and practical. He was outstanding as was his staff. He came highly recommended to me from other doctors and nurses that I know in Raleigh. I don't think you'll find anyone better in the area. read more

I had the best experience last week with Destiny and Nicole. I've been seeing Dr. Hanna for some time and I needed new contact lenses. Destiny was able to find the best pricing...who wouldn't love that! Nicole called to follow-up about my order b/c I'd inadvertently given Destiny inaccurate information. Once Nicole resolved my error, my order was placed and delivered within 48 hours. Holy Smokes Batman...I can see again!!! read more

This review is long overdue. Dr Oberdorf has been my eye doctor for years and I couldn't be happier. He's patient and thorough and genuinely concerned with your eye health. I have struggled to like another doctor in North Carolina since I moved from California back in 2007. I still tried to see my doctor in California everytime I visited since I've had him since I was 15. I did finally find a doctor in NC but I was not happy with her. She was okay but outdated. I tried Dr Oberdorf at Stonehenge and was extremely pleased with the staff and the doctor. They are friendly and very good with customers. The machines are all updated. Dr Oberdorf is very good! read more

We really appreciate the entire staff. Very thorough, professional, but also personable. Highly recommend them.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Oberdorf and his practice. I am semi-new to the area and was looking for a new optometrist, and was very impressed with the reviews I saw on Yelp and other websites. This was by far the most pleasant and informative eye exam I've ever had. I've been to a few "factory" practices where you are ushered to three different waiting rooms and sit around for 2-3 hours before seeing the doctor for 5 minutes. Not the case here at all - a very brief wait before an assistant took me back for the routine stuff and then Dr. Oberdorf followed. I was so impressed with the time he and his assistant spent with me. Not only did he thoroughly check my vision to make the appropriate adjustments to my contact prescription, but really took the time to review and explain the images taken of my eyes and talk about possible courses of action moving forward. As others have mentioned, the technology he uses is fantastic. I give him my highest recommendation! read more

The best eye exam I've ever had! Dr. Oberdorf spent extra time listening and discussing my eye problems and past problems I've had with progressive lens. The optical diagnosis equipment is state of the art. The office staff was excellent. I appreciated the followup to squeeze in my appointment before I had to go out of town. First time customer... now a long term customer! A++++ highly recommended. read more

Been coming here for over a decade and Dr. Oberdorf has always been fantastic. I never have a long wait, the staff is kind and courteous, and the office building is very clean and inviting. I have been going to this eye doctor for several years. I had been very happy with him and his staff. My last appt. I ordered my glasses with tinted lenses, but when my glasses arrived a week later they were not tinted. So when I called, the lady stated they would re-order them and they would arrive within a week, I still do not have my correct lense, and it has been over 2 more weeks! I have not received a phone call from them, and every time I call they say we are having problems with the lab and they should be in soon. I find this very unaccepable service. At this point I do not know if I will continue using this eye doctor. Deborah Wells read more

Dr. Oberdorf is the best ophthalmologist I have ever visited and believe that needing glasses since I was 8 years old, that is quite a lot of them. It is a fast scheduling process and his staff is very cordial. The exam itself is a great experience because Dr. Oberdorf not only has the best equipment and latest technology but he actually takes the time to think about what will work for me; it is not a matter of writing a prescription but of finding a solution (as I have several challenges with my vision) and there is no hard sell to use the optometric services he provides, which deserve its own review. They are super professional and know their trade. They advise you not sell you (which is the best possible sale) and you end up getting what you need in a timely manner and the pricing is not much different than any other place. I recommend them to anyone!!! read more

Stonehedge Vision has turned into a nightmare and to put it simply they are only after you $$$! I went in for my routine retina eye exam (for diabetes), everything they said was fine. Within two months my vision was blurry, I go back and have all the test again (Cha Ching) and this time told I had vitro macular traction and of course wanted me to continue to follow up with them ($$), per my daughter's suggestion I ended up going to a specialist for follow ups. Then after several months with a specialist I go back to Stonehenge Vision for what I "assumed" would be get a prescription for new glasses. They started off wanting to dilate my eyes and said it was required to do all of this ($$), I kept telling them I had just had all that done two days prior by the specialist and only needed a vision test for new glasses. Sooo, finally the eye doctor comes in and does the vision test and says to me "after doing the eye screening for glasses ($$), that new glasses would not do me any good yet because "my chart" said I had cataracts (previously noted not from this visit)! No one ever told me previously that I had cataracts that needed to be removed, if that was on my chart why did they do these test to tell me something that was previously noted and never told me before, I'll tell you why, to charge me and my insurance $$$$$$! They even commented that my insurance would pay for all of this not to worry!!! Okay, so let's just abuse the insurance and why we have so much going on with insurance! Even though the insurance pays for what they should have previously told me I still have to pay a copay! $$$$$$$$$$ Don't walk away from Stonehedge Vision RUN AWAY!! read more

I had a pretty great experience here as a first-timer, and it was unlike service I've had anywhere else. I started with the assistant named Destiny, who was as pleasant as can be and very professional. Their equipment didn't have to involve the scary eye "poof." When Dr Oberdorf came in, he introduced himself as Eric. Who does that? This guy. Veeeeeeeery thorough eye doc, and on top of that, he showed me pictures of my eye balls and explained the health of them to me. That's never happened to be before, and I've had glasses/contacts for 20 years. On top of this, I told him of my concerns about contacts going dry too soon. He let me put on 2 different contacts while I was there. We immediately eliminated one. And then he let me go home with 10 dailies and one 2-week pair to try. I will return in a week to say which one I like better. Overall, incredibly professional and sterile office. And Dr Oberdorf really takes the time to be thorough and have concern for my sight. I guess the only downer would be that I wish they had more trendy eyeglasses in the showroom. read more
