I'm new in town and went here for the first time about a week ago. First, I was really impressed how bright and cheerful it was inside. They've obviously spent some time considering lighting and it really helps put you in a good mood when you walk in. Dr. White was great! He gave me a bunch of options other than glasses without the resigned tone that some doctors have talking to a person in their 60's. He mentioned aging in a very gracious way, not by saying "at your age..." which really sets me off. As it happened I sent in an old pair of glasses to get new lenses put in. Unfortunately, the frames broke in the lab. I got a text message from Aimee who apologized and said I could come in and pick out replacement frames at no cost. That was very generous and much appreciated. I have a vision plan but by the time you add in all the extra options like protective coatings, the cost can really add up. So it was great to be able to get some new frames without incurring an additional cost. Highly recommended. I really like this practice and you will too. read more

I bring my entire family here. Dr. Kasper and her staff are very knowledgeable and make us feel right at home. The selection of frames is extensive and we found something for everyone! BEST. OPTOMETRIST. EVER. I've worn glasses since I was 12 and have been several optometrists. In fact, since I left my hometown, I've never seen an optometrist more than once because I was never satisfied with my experience. Well, that's changed. Dr. Tucker is awesome! I've done all those various eye exams and have only been told the basics of why it needed to be done. Dr. Tucker and his staff all took the time to explain them and they also explained them well. It was amazing. Dr. Tucker was also joking around the entire time (even though he was recovering from the flu), you can really tell he loves his job! Easy to schedule, wonderful staff and great doctors!

Pros: Great office hours, friendly staff, ease of scheduling My first visit was in the spring for an annual exam. We had some trouble with getting my prescription right as I have substantial astigmatism which require custom lenses. Dr. Tucker is ver kind and patient. He saw me a number of times while we tried to get it right. My last visit we finally got it. He then says something along the lines of "since I haven't charged you so far for the visits, I think it's time because I've seen you several times". What? That was the first time I was told and it was not indicated before - in seriousness. He had laughed previous visit to this and said he would have to charge me if I have to see him too many more times, but again he laughed and smiled (he cracks a lot of jokes) and never indicated it wasn't a joke. I'd never had this problem being fitted for contacts before, where I was charged strictly bc I visited too many times due to their inability to get my prescription right. When I requested they waive my end of the fee due to the circumstances mentioned they declined. I will be ordering my contacts bc they are custom through them this year, but I will not go back and I strongly urge others to to avoid. read more

I came by Dr. Ira Tucker's office today because he is the only one in town who seeks the Italee glasses (seriously! check them out!). Today is Eclipse day and I figured I have asked so many people this past week if they still had eclipse sunglasses, that it would not hurt to ask again! The receptionist was so kind that she found the last pair for us!!! Whoohoo!!! I would like Dr. Tucker and staff to know I have put the eclipse sunglasses to good use. We had a block party and several neighbors came out and we shared the eclipse sunglasses! It was a magic moment thanks to his and his staff's courtesy!!! Amazing! read more

Always insists on extra checks and visits. I get my eyes checked every year without fail but they always want more visits. Their other dr left so they are making people start over again with more visits, charges, etc.. not easy to work with. Bummer... read more

This place is amazing! It was easy to schedule an appointment (they have an online system, but they also follow up via phone). Usually, I have to schedule eye appointments months in advance, but I was able to come in in about a month with these folks. They have great hours as well. I loved Dr. Wieand. She is very knowledgeable (well of course, she went to UCSD :-P) and friendly. She gave me a lot of great advice for my eye-care and did a really thorough exam. I also cannot get over how helpful and friendly the ladies up front are. They spend individual time with each patient, helping them pick out a frame. I got really good advice from both of the ladies helping me. They even ordered a frame that I had seen on their online system and let me come in later to try it on--they even called me to let me know it had arrived! Above and beyond. When I come to this office I feel like my time and concerns are genuinely important to each person I encounter each step of the way! They also make sure they keep you informed about each decision in terms of the insurance so that there are no surprises. Definitely recommend. read more

I am really pleased with the service and professionalism of this business. I have met with both, Dr. Tucker and Dr. Wieand and they both took equally good care of me. I am not someone that knows my schedule months down the road so I will generally just call in and ask them to let me know about cancellations a week or so out. The staff is Johnny on the spot and gets back to me straight away as availability opens up. As far as their eye glass shop, they have a good selection and you receive very personalized care. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the cost of glasses. To hear you have great insurance and still need to pay out $300 for a pair of glasses seems a bit high. I may just be out of touch with the cost of things. Anyhow, I am sure you can walk out of there paying less if your focus is purely cost. read more
