So, I woke up Thursday morning, put on my glasses, and noticed the arm was broken--just my luck since I was headed out of town and these are my only pair! I rushed over to My Eye Doctor as soon as they opened at 9 AM, hoping they could help. But honestly, the girl at the front desk barely looked at my glasses. She just told me they couldn't fix them and suggested a jewelry store down the road. No help or options offered at all! When I asked more questions, she mentioned that my glasses are no longer carried there and that my insurance benefits for the year were all used up. It felt pretty dismissive. I finally asked for my prescription, which she said is good until January 16, 2026. This is the second time I've had a lousy experience here, and it's definitely the last. I took my prescription and headed to Costco instead, where they really came through for me. I ended up getting two new pairs for a little over $400. Plus, the tech there even fixed my broken glasses to hold me over until my new ones arrive. All in all, my visit to My Eye Doctor was frustrating and left me feeling pretty unsupported. If you need eye care, I recommend looking elsewhere where they actually care about their customers! read more

So I am editing my previous review. I had an issue with the service on my first visit but will say truthfully and honestly that this office rectified my situation amazingly. Brian, the manager was extremely professional in his response to my issues. They re-did my glasses and didn't even charge me for the correction. I do highly recommend this location as they showed me that if an issue occurs, they will fix it expeditiously. read more

I've been going here for a few years now, and the staff is nothing but incredible. They currently have very thorough Covid protocols in place, even when it comes to trying on eyewear. The team here is efficient and really friendly. There is a wide selection of glasses and rebates are always being offered. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, so look to schedule middle of the week in the morning if possible. read more

I made it to my appointment for a contact lens/eye exam. I had to wait about 20 mins to be seen, but that wasn't really a big deal to me. I was escorted to the back with the tech to take pictures and measurements of my eyes, I went to put my forehead on the auto-refractor machine and noticed the machine was covered with lip stick where ones mouth is supposed to be in front of. This was after I had asked if the machine had been cleaned! She lied and said it had been. I was disgusted. Conjunctivitis and other infections/viruses are highly contagious and just one reason why it is so important to keep those type of machines clean! She went a head and sanitized the machine and we were able to proceeded, however if it wasn't for the fact that I needed an exam I would have left right then and there. I went on with my exam with the Dr..she was very sweet and took my concerns with the unsanitary conditions seriously. Aside from that she got me in a pair of contacts and I was on my way.The front staff will try to up charge you as it is there job so make sure you are well aware of what you insurance covers. Also ask about all options available to you before you purchase. In conclusion I will not be visiting this location again. There cleanliness is not up to par, and it simply isn't worth risking possibly getting an infection. read more

I think this will be my last time going to MyEyeDr. I came from another location as their service was really bad so I decided to find another location and went here. And was not a great idea. The receptionist is not very welcoming and the tone of her voice was like impatient and don't want to help, and was just doing her job. Just the vibe in that store is bad. read more

Still the best option for eyecare. They are doing a lot to keep everyone safe. You must wear a mask and wait just inside the door for a temperature check. They seem to space out appointments enough so few people are there at the same time. Social distancing is taking place. I got a thorough eye checkup following same procedures as past appointments. They always have been good at cleaning equipment between patients. They definitely added additional protocols during this Covid-19 time. read more

My daughter's glasses broke this week which was a setback to a great start to freshman year of college. We were planning to get a quick inexpensive temporary pair at Walmart and my daughter happened to see MyEyeDr in the shopping center. We were politely greeted when we entered and directed to something that would fit our budget while allowing us to fill the new prescription that we had been putting off. More important than the new glasses and backup pair we were able to get. Eliza patiently explained how frame and lens options worked and helped us with getting the old lenses into a pair of frames that would work for an upcoming interview my daughter has coming up. The friendliness and expertise that Eliza shared and adjustments made to the backup frames were right on time. This location was fantastic. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Office was busy which impacted the wait time somewhat, but I was okay with that as they had squeezed me in after I had to make a last minute appointment. Preston did an awesome job of helping me pick out my new glasses which is always an experience that I dislike. He provided excellent customer service by giving me several options of new eye wear and was patient as I perused my choices. He even took a look at my old glasses as I had mentioned the possibility of purchases new lenses. After all of that he quote me a week turnaround on my glasses and I got them in 4 days! My three year old son has autism, and wears prism glasses. They have been so accommodating to his needs from the beginning. Today I called to see about ordering new lenses and frames without having to bring him in the office, and the person I spoke with was extremely helpful and able to make this happen for us. This corresponded to my experience, so I decided to wait longer to get in where I'd gone before, even though I was without glasses. I'm very glad I did. Please forgive me if this posts twice. After posting I went through an extended process to sign on to Yelp. MYEyeDr in Cary NC LOST MY GLASSES. A month ago I took a new prescription to be put in my old $675.00 specialty frames. I could not adjust to the trifocal lenses and went back to request this be changed to bifocals only. Also requested they try to make the frames fit better. They were very obliging and changed the lenses, but because they could not adjust the frames properly the lenses were in the wrong place for my eyes, so back again to see if they could do any better. The woman at the counter took my glasses and said they would call me. Big Mistake. I did not get a receipt. They had not called by the time I went on vacation. Upon returning last Friday, they could not find my glasses and said to wait until Preston returned to the shop on Monday. It is Monday and I do not have my new glasses. He, also, could not find my glasses, but he will call me if they do come across them. They are very distinctive and easy to identify. I get the feeling they do not believe me. Over the span of over 70 years I have had many pair of glasses, but never a problem like this. I cannot remember more than a couple of times that I had to return to an optician for adjustments. Not only do I not have new glasses, I paid around $130 for the new lenses. So, I am out over $800.00. I requested my original prescription to take to another optician. Very disappointed. I certainly will not recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an appointment today at this location for 12:30. I showed up at 12:18. No one mentioned anything that could potentially impact my appointment when they handed me paperwork to sign. Nor did they mention anything during the 45 mins I sat and waited. I asked the receptionist if this was common since this was my first time at this location as opposed to going to Apex where I lived prior to Cary. Apparently there was an issue that threw off everyone's appointment. There were four employees that I observed at various times two of them went and came and from lunch and two others were working the desk and no one said anything to me or anyone who checked in after I did of any potential delay. I'm respectful of people's times when I have an appointment and can't make it on time I call and I expect the same level of respect for my time. I can't comment on the Dr since I never even got to see her. I may go back to Apex. A bit further of a drive but would have taken less than the 45 mins I waited here. read more
