I loveeee Pressed Cafe! I've only visited once but I was so surprised at all of the healthy and traditional options they have, and I can't believe I haven't tried this place before. I plan on trying nearly everything on their huge menu. A friend and I wanted to grab a quick, quality breakfast before an all-day event, and I'm so glad I found this place on yelp! I ordered an egg + cheese sandwich on a croissant, with a red detox juice, while my friend got the sausage, egg + cheese breakfast burrito. I loved my breakfast sandwich, it was exactly what I wanted and the red detox juice was perfect. My friend thought his breakfast burrito should have been bigger, but he got a basic one without including any other ingredients such as onions, tomatoes, etc. Uma at the counter was great, and all staff seemed to be very fast, efficient and friendly, even with a full house. There were so many people eating in, and taking out; every table inside and outside were taken as were most of the seats on the side. Pressed cafe can have some really good items. But we've eaten here enough now to notice a pattern - the quality is wildly inconsistent. Where one day you might get the best bbq chicken Mac n cheese you've ever had, a few days later you order the same dish and it's possibly the worst bbq chicken Mac and cheese, lumpy, dry meat, watery sauce and just gross. The same thing has happened with each of the other menu items I've had here. They do have a decent latte although very sweet sometimes, so specify what you want with sweetness level. Service is fine for the most part. The folks running the food to the takeout shelf and serving for dine-in orders are nice and friendly. The cashiers can be abrupt. There's a lady who handles the orders coming out of the kitchen, might be the manager? Anyway, I told her once when the food was not good and she made some doubtful sounding excuse for the poor quality of the food we received - "oh we're trying out a new recipe for that dish these days, I'll let the kitchen know it's not working." read more

I am so obsessed with their Jerusalem tuna sandwich and get it every single time I go. I add romaine and get a side of their hot sauce. I daydream about the spicy whipped feta that's on it. Pressed is one of my favorite go-to spots of all time. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything off their menu. I usually go for their chipotle steak grilled cheese, truffle fries, turkey sausage burrito, egg cheese potato burrito with bacon or sausage, raspberry cheese croissant, and/or the smoothie matchacado (I always ask for less sugar with oat milk). Every time my husband and I bring someone here, this becomes their new favorite spot too -- their smoothies (esp their acai one), toasts, and shakshuka are always their favs. Service is always super quick and people are so friendly. I thought the prices were reasonable given the quality of the ingredients, good portions, and everything tasted fresh and well-made. There were about ten different things I wanted to order off the menu, which covers everything from açaí bowls to bagels to salads and sandwiches. In the end, I went with the Mediterranean kale salad, which had tuna salad, spicy feta, and tomato eggplant salad, eggs. Absolutely delicious and filling. My one nit is the lemon dressing skewed towards mouth-puckeringly sour, so next time, I might swap it out for a different dressing. I also appreciated how they serve bread upon request when you order, so there's no wasting food. My husband liked his steakhouse salad. Easy parking has become a huge plus for me each time we go, well, anywhere. Street parking is the bane of my existence (just the thought of trying to parallel park while a line of cars starts forming behind me makes my palms tingle) so it's safe to say that, given Pressed Cafe's private parking lot, I'll be coming here all the time. Pressed cafe is a great spot to grab a quick bite any time of day. I believe they are open from 5am-10pm which is really nice. I would suggest ordering ahead online since it does get extremely busy during lunch time. The ambiance of the restaurant is really pleasant. It's has nice seating indoors and outside. There's also a bar that serves alcoholic drinks. Employees are nice. Menu is huge. Breakfast all day, sandwiches, bowls, salads, great coffee. We just arrived in Newton looking for a breakfast place. Decided on Pressed Cafe. The menu is enormous. So it took a while to decide. As.customers came in, my wife would their favorite. We decide on a Chipotle Steak and Egg Buritto, an Egg, Cheese, Potato Burrito, and French Toast. The burritos were huge. But we managed. We ordered the French Toast, because a customer said they were the best. They were. With so much food, I needed a second latte. My wife went to order it. And met Tyson. He introduced himself and thanked her for coming in. He also came to our table and met me. I noticed that he seemed to know every customer, giving them high fives and pats on the shoulder. We went to Pressed Cafe for the first time tonight and it was amazing! We were excited because we're vegetarians and they have extensive vegan options. I ordered the Pad Thai Bowl which was absolutely terrific. It was fresh tasting and the tofu (optional) was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the Eggplant & Farro bowl. She said it was as good as classic "fainting imam" that she has ordered at a top Turkish restaurant. The service was fast. The dining room is large and the staff is efficient and friendly. I highly recommend Pressed. I had Nana's Egg Sandwich (herbed eggs, boursin, tomato, cucumbers, olive tapenade, schug, on a croissant.) Schug is a middle eastern cilantro hot sauce. It added just the right amount of spice to the sandwich. I took the cucumbers off; I didn't want them for breakfast. The sandwich was huge--it was difficult for me to finish. I felt pretty rushed to order - which may have been just been me - but I went with the Red Quinoa Power Bowl or whatever it's called. I was surprised when it came out (also - the runner didn't know how to pronounce Quinoa..), as it was SWIMMING in black bean sauce. Like, almost a soup. And the "side of hot sauce" was not on the side - there was hot sauce all over half of the food. I like hot sauce, so that's fine - but what if you don't?! And it came with bread, which I wish it had said on the menu. I can't resist bread, so I would have said not to bring it, as I didn't want or need it. Good, but could be better. While the service is prompt and friendly, it's the food that lags a bit. I've tried many of the Paninis, and I find them to be lacking in flavor. Everything is fresh, but too many of them are just slathered in whatever "sauce/spread" comes with them. If it's guacamole then all you taste is guacamole, if it's mayonnaise then all you taste is mayo. The quantity of sauce makes the sandwich into "mush" that doesn't have much flavor. The soups I tried were excellent, and the sides and side salads are very good. Maybe just cut down on the amount of "sauce" and let the other ingredients stand out a bit more? read more

We had a delicious dinner at Pressed. The food is always fresh and flavorful. A few favorites include the Jerusalem Meza Plate, Shakshuka and the Jerusalem Tuna Panini. They have delicious Butternut Squash and salads as well. The service and ambiance are excellent and Josh the Bartender and man of all trades is extremely friendly and customer oriented.
