Good spot for authentic Bengali cuisine. It's a very popular place to have fresh tasty Bengali Indian foods , snacks as well as sweet and dessert items. Price is reasonable. Street parking available. Very busy and fast pace service because of it's popularity. Don't forget to try their sweet & desert items. Beef tehari is must have !! Try Bengali tea with cream and sugar, you'll thank me later. Customer service is excellent . Highly recommended for everyone.

Clean, timely service and good sweets. There is a lot of choice of lunch, dinner, snack and sweet items. The cha is just like home made cha too.

Not a great place. Avoid I wanted to give this place a higher rating especially since I eat at the Premium Sweets in Bangladesh often when I'm there. However, when we came here for iftar on Saturday evening, we were greeted by overpriced food that wasn't worth the hype and wasn't anywhere near as good as the original in Bangladesh. On top of that, the chicken in the iftar platter was raw (see picture) and the restaurant didn't replace (made some excuse about not having enough left?) and didn't adjust the final bill. Pretty shocking stuff Either way, there are plenty of other great places for Bangladeshi cuisine in the area. I would avoid this one

Crazy guy

We had to wait 30-40 mins for just the food to get ready, while eating the food I noticed the excess oil on it, and above all else, the entire time that I was eating there was this lady and a man staring us down, please becareful if them

This is a spot thats open late at night and great to go to when craving chai. Its a Bangladeshi owned and run sweet shops and one would find things most bengali would eat when living in Bangladesh. The style of cooking is homestyle however the quality of material is ok and can be better in my opinion.

Do not recommend this place. There was water leaking and the time it took to get our food took longer than my mom figuring out what my name was again.

Wanted to eat malai and I stumbled upon this place. I used to live in Brooklyn and my apartment used to be in the vicinity of Bangladesh/Pakistani neighborhood and their grocery stores carry these gulab jamun and rasgulla in sweet syrup packaged and the sticker would have premium sweets on it. I used to buy it so often that when I came into store, I had recognized it! I had to buy it of course! You can mix some of the sweets as long as it's the same price per pound. So I got $6 per pound sweets and $8 per pound rasgulla and covered in powder. It's not overly sweet like almost all the sweet restaurants does so I will definitely buy it again! $14 well spent! :)

Food and sweets are on point. Try the beef tehri with yellow rice. End it with a bengali tea.

Great Indian bakery and desserts in Jamaica! I loved the mango chutney smoothie with lychee and the rass malai dessert. Also good samosas.

I'm from Silicon Valley and we're swimming in Indian restaurants from every region. We initially came in for a quick bite before dinner plans in the area. I got a chicken lollipop and samosa and was surprised by how much flavor it had. My expectations were low since they said they didn't have any chutney to come with the samosa and offered ketchup instead. However it definitely didn't need it and had so much flavor and moisture on its own. As we were munching on our two small items, we were consumed by the smell of the other dishes they had. We left to dinner at the other restaurant and were completely stuffed, but I HAD to swing back to this restaurant to get some of their curries togo. I got one of the fish curries which had some pickled vegetables and one of the goat curries. I've never had this much depth in a fish or goat curry before and it beat out any I've had before. I was literally sucking as much of the gravy as I could from the bones when I got back because I knew I wouldn't be able to have this level of depth and flavor in a curry when I get back to California. The service was so friendly. They were smiling and chatting with us while we ordered and were attentive in the beginning even though we got two small items for like 5 bucks. I'm definitely making my way back to Astoria to have this again.

Jackson Heights is full of Southeast Asian food and what a treat to try something completely new…read morefor me. I discovered that a Bangladesh street food called fushka is very popular, so decided to try for my first time. Tong is highly rated and their menu is simple. I ordered the Doi Fuchka ($7), which comes as crispy, hollow puri shells stuffed with a savory mashed potato and chickpea mixture. The difference in the doi is that it is topped with a yogurt to balance the spice for a creamier texture. I liked this a lot, especially with the tamarind sauce too (though this got a bit messy). This is nothing like I've ever tasted with so many different textures going on. It hits you with spicy, sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy, chewy and everything all at once. It comes with 8 pieces, which is perfect to share with 2-3 people. Definitely something to check out!

The fuchka was the main event; I liked the original a bit more than the yogurt variety (doi fuchka); the latter was sweet and a little more creamy, while the original had a nice spice and crisp that stood out. Chotpoti was excellent, every bite was a medley of flavor. The mango dish was very interesting; not my favorite, but definitely a very unique take on mango. Sour with a bit of spice, but not in the same way as adding Tajin. Queens never disappoints when it comes to diverse cuisine!

Run by a mom & daughter duo, Amma & Nur-E are truly so down-to-earth, full of positivity, and their energy is luminous. Amma is genuinely passionate about her craft and unbelievably humble! We arrived 10 minutes before 8pm and were greeted by Nur-E who literally shook our hands and welcomed us with open arms. The restaurant seats ~18 people so you can imagine how intimate, curated, and deeply rooted in tradition this dinner felt. Amma is from Dhaka, Bangladesh and with every course that came out, Nur-E described it to us in her expert storytelling ways! Everything we had was incredible. The Mango Lassi is blended by hand for that perfect consistency and refreshing, lightly sweet, homemade taste! After 5 whole courses came out, Nour-E came out and told us we had 7 more to go! So definitely come hungry and know you will leave beyond satisfied. My favorites were the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash), the Rohu Fish Fried, the Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao, Beef Curry (Gorur Gostho) and Khashir (Goat) Biryani. Basically everything we had!! Each dish was balanced in depth, richness, and heat. The meats & fish were so tender, the rices were unbelievably fragrant, and the sauces were aromatic and layered rather than just spicy. The Rohu Fish Fried is imported from Bangladesh and lightly coated in spices and pan-fried until golden brown. This was my first time having this fish and it won't be my last! The Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao will live rent free in my head for a long time. It's richly caramelized, light yet aromatic, and deliciously comforting. I can see why this is usually a celebratory dish and is the only dish that Amma will serve at every Dawat Dinner! This dish is so popular that you can now find the recipe on Food & Wine. Speaking of accomplishments, the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash) was named one of The New York Times' Best Dishes of 2025. We were also so lucky that Amma made her Mishti Doi for dessert! It's a sweet yogurt that has a custard-like creaminess and was the perfect way to end the meal after all those incredible flavors. We were so grateful to get a special one in a traditional clay pot. Also, there's tons of food but the staff will package any leftovers for you to take with you! They've literally thought of everything to make this an exceptional experience. Nur-E closed our dinner saying "food is life's greatest connector" and I couldn't agree more! Amma is truly an inspiration for opening Korai Kitchen at 61 years old, becoming a James Beard Nominee at 67 and getting 3 Stars from New York Times, and now signing her first cook book deal at 69. This is definitely in my top 10 meals of 2026 and is one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. I can't recommend Korai Kitchen enough.

As delicious as the food is, be prepared to take a lot home. You enter Korai Kitchen hungry, curious and with great anticipation. You leave full, satisfied and part of the family! Sorry for the lack of pics. I just went in as soon as the dishes started arriving, eager to savor the meal rather than to record it. My advice: Just go! Its a culinary adventure!
