The Salmon is fresh and comes with two fabulous sides !, The Falafel on Israeli Salad with Feta Cheese added is a meal in itself !! The service is always superb and the Manager is an exceptionally nice human being Today we went there for an after my Bday dinner and they sang and played music and lit a sparkler it was so sweet. ON TOP of all that my cousin accidentally knocked a water glass off the table and it broke. the Manager handled it immediately and professionally sent someone over to clean it up and remove the water that had spilled so nobody would slip. Most incredible was the staff all went out of their way to not make a big deal out of it which was so kind because my cousin was very embarrassed and ashamed . IF I could rate this place 100 stars I would the treat customers with kindness and respect unlike anywhere else I have ever dined ... and I was born and raised in New York City & have been to many 5 star restaurants ... 'Cafe Muscat' is a prime example of a restaurant with poor management. I was not surprised to deal with the high level of unprofessionalism that normally comes with 'Cafe Muscat' ... serious adjustments need to be made (mostly on the costumer service end), but most likely will not. I ordered from seamless the other day and shortly after, the restaurant called to ask me to cancel because they don't deliver after a certain time. I cancelled the order, but asked them to update their times on seamless. Received a dismissive response that could go either way. I've been here before and the quality of the food is OK even though highly priced. Restaurants around this area are normally not costumer-friendly. read more

We have been ordering from here for years but the prices have just increased to a point that I won't come here anymore. I went in for lunch with a friend....she had a falafel wrap ($16.95) and I had the Mediterranean panini ($18.95). She had orange juice ($7.75) and I had a Diet Coke ($3.50!). My total bill was $59. What I did not know was that they automatically added 18% tip! So I tipped on the $59....and the. Realized, how can lunch for two people be close to $70? That's when I discovered the auto tip after I called the restaurant. This is really deceptive. Who automatically adds 18% for TWO people? The service is extremely slow and has been for years. It does not deserve an auto tip of 18%! The prices are outrageous and that auto tip is just so sneaky. My Dept routinely orders from here.... I will be sure to let them know of my experience. Went there the other day for my daughters birthday, It was her choice. I was not overly thrilled with the place in general. The place looked a bit run down and the staff were pretty slow. My first time here, and would absolutely be back. I ordered the vegan shakshuka for myself, and a regular shakshuka (comes with eggs) for my friend. Both items came with bread, Israeli salad, a choice of tea/coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice or grapefruit juice. The shakshuka was SO flavorful. The restaurant was hardly air conditioned for our party of 9. It was so hot. The waitstaff brought the food. The "bagel" was bread with a lot of sesame seeds on it. The lox did not taste good and was brown around the edges. The Israeli salad was good. The portions were IMMENSE, but the flavors were not what I was accustomed to. I had to ask three different waitresses for a glass of ice, before I got up and asked at the cashier. The 'tip' that was already included on the bill was based on the total that included the tax! None of the waitresses brought the bill. I had to go get it myself at the register. The waitresses were cleaning the tables and ignored me even as I stood by the register. From a non-Kosher eater's perspective this place is on the money ! Its slightly pricier than average cafes, but i think its worth the extra buck because they serve really big portions, always uses fresh ingredients and bonus because it opens till late!! When I get kicked out from Barnes and nobles across the street during an intensive study session , I can come here,grab a salad and study some more. Late nights are pretty quiet so its study-friendly. The seating and environment is extremely pleasant and the tables are very spacious as well! My first review as an Elite member:) Anyways, was here last night on a double date. It was past ten, and not too crowded. Menu had lot of nice options. Split the artichoke salad with my husband. Our other party had the sweet potato oregennatoe, and the Mediterranean panini. My salad was pretty good, very fresh. It came with grilled salmon. The winner of the night was the sweet potato oregennateo. That was something out of this world. Crispy sweet potatoes and delicious salad underneath. Our party was nice enough to let us sample. It was late and we were full for dessert like we originally wanted. Thats all we had. Other reviewers mentioned that this place is pricey. I would have to disagree. I feel its fair for kosher food, plus, its great portions for what you get. My only complaint of the night was that food took a while to come out. Waiters were nice, and attentive. Kosher in the house ...yes! this is kosher dairy it was a cold cold winters night we needed the kosher and we were darn hungry here we come Cafe Muscat we come in the place is crowded ok it is Saturday night we wait about 15 min before the guy working says go sit in the front table it was set for 6 we are only 3 who are we to argue. waiter comes right over puts down a carafe of ice water we are freezing ...oddly 10 min later we are toasty warm then 15 min later we are freezing. With out going on more about the heat you get the idea warm one min freezing 5 min later. menu is full of salads soups and entrees including a whole fish I think it was a brazino it looked tasty as it was carried past us we opted for soups and salads there is a full sushi menu and a sushi chef working at his little counter(next time sushi for us) lovely creamy butternut squash soup served piping hot and surprisingly fast my dining girls had soups Ceasar salad big fresh and tasty I had something called an oregannato very yummy and an interesting idea Sweet Potato Oreganatto $12.95 A mixture of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mushroom, onion, bulgarian cheese, stir fried sweet potato, mixed nuts and croutons. they have other Oreganattos the portion is big its salad with hot toppings for dessert we shared a chocolate souffle its was just stunning hot cake with hot sauce and sided with vanilla ice cream think chocolate cake as good as it gets oddly we were there for almost 3 hours service is beyond slow perhaps this is how they want it so be warned. there is slow turnover because of the slow service I have to say everyone working there is super friendly and nice and I have never seen such a BIRTHDAY celebration its a place to go the restaurant goes dark music comes on everyone claps waitstaff sings along to the special birthday song its fantastic I love this place read more

My friend and I came here on a whim, because he wanted umi's at 10 AM and I just knew that wasn't possible (because they are closed). To save both of our sanities (by way of food), we stumbled into this place and felt very out of place (but very welcomed). This place is very kosher and it's a Jewish spot as you can see from their patrons. My friend had no idea what kosher meant...so it was fun to enlighten him. The service was great, and the refillable table bread was so soft and hot with the best cream cheese-Esque dip ever. That bread was delicious. However, all other foods were just normally good. Our breakfast platters were around ~$12-14 which was pretty steep. Though it did come with a tea/coffee and juice and salad. The freshness of all of the ingredients was very apparent, however flavor fell flat. I've had much better shakshouka elsewhere (specifically at a cafe in London *sighs*). Anyways, I'd come here for cafe items like the name says. Maybe a coffee and some tea and some bread...but maybe not breakfast items. read more

Another one of the places my best friend and I go to for lunch...service has always been great for us (then again, we tend to go in the afternoon, during midweek, when it's not too crowded), and the waitresses and waiters always friendly. Salads are good, their avocado rolls are delicious, and so is the bread basket they give you. I always have the chocolate submarine drink here as well...it's basically hot chocolate with an actual chocolate bar inside, so good. Stopped for lunch after picking up my daughter from St John's - first impression was a warm greeting, seated right away, menus and specials brought over immediately. The fresh squeezed juice was really good, my daughter got the Greek morning, I got the Israeli salad. The falafel was amazing! Best I've had anywhere. It took about 20 minutes before we were given any attention by wait staff. took even longer for the food to come out and it was quite disappointing. Old, scratched dinning furniture reminds me of college dorm cafeteria setting. I heard from people that this restaurant is great for dessert. I had no room in my belly to eat another item on the menu. I was full. I'll come here next time to try a dessert menu. Apparently Cafe Muscat has 2 places. The restaurants are right next door to each other. The one I'm reviewing is main restaurant for general public and the other place is for private parties only. I would recommend this place for like girls night out. A small birthday party or some small occasion or event to have or a simple date. The food was great. I ordered lemon salmon. Chief prepared it perfect. The fish was not dry at all. It was crispy outside and moist inside. Bake patatoe I imagine, would be served like real bake potatoe. Split in the middle and served with butter, or cut in half, Instead it was served as a large and peeled French fries but in baked version. You can see my pic to make it clear. I must say, the portions are big enough to fill up with out appetizers. Service was not attentive enough to say excellent. The absolute worst service and atmosphere I've ever seen. The food is expensive and not worth what you pay. Asked for toast, drinks etc multiple times, nothing came. All I got was rude looks from the waitstaff, especially one lady who I assume is the manager. Her attitude was enough to ruin our whole dining experience. We held an after wedding brunch for our family at Cafe Muscat and the food and service were 99% (always room for some improvement but not sure how...) Nelli, our server, was very attentive, patient, and personable! She and the kitchen got an order for 20, of all ages, correct the first time. Not an easy feat I assure you.
