This exceeded my expectations. Dublin hotels are surprisingly expensive, and I chose this because it is significantly more affordable than other hotels in the city. I thought that being a couple of miles outside the busy area would be an inconvenience, but it's a fine location. It's only about a block away from the Luas red line (tram, or light rail), so it was very easy to zip over to where all the fun is. The neighborhood itself is a bit more quiet, and it is very modern and new (not unlike London's Docklands).
Another reason I chose this hotel for my visit is that my dad has traveled around the British Isles extensively and he swears by Premier Inn. He knows what he's talking about; this is a very professional establishment, clean and well-managed. I think the building is less than a year old as I type this in May of 2024, and my room had plenty of the kind of outlets we expect in a modern hotel. There's no gym or spa or anything like that, but there is a restaurant and a bar. (I didn't try them; I was in town as a tourist and wanted to dine in the city proper.)
A few weird quirks knock a star down for me. There is free wifi, but it's extra-slow and they will charge you five pounds per day if you want it faster. There were nice clean towels but no wash cloth. There was a hand towel but no spot to hang one. There is a television, but the remote control has no batteries. That kind of thing. Also, booking this as an American, it's like the website has really never considered that possibility and it wouldn't accept my phone number and that made it hard. So some odd things, but I think that if you're pricing out Dublin hotels and finding that this price makes the most sense for your budget, and you mind my caveats, you will find it acceptable. read more
