    Easter surprise
    Robin P.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. One of the most beautiful hotels in Dublin. The room was huge, beds comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary, what an incredible experience. First we were upgraded, and in our room was a bottle of wine and two chocolate hearts. What a surprise. We left early the next morning for a tour and the hotel had a to go breakfast for us. The customer service was excellent. We had our anniversary dinner in the restaurant and all I can say is WOW, the tomahawk steak dinner for two. Well worth the cost for such a special occasion. Breakfast in the morning, was table service, buffet and off menu, we couldn't complain about anything. The hotel, staff and everyone made sure that we'd received best of the best. An experience we could never forget. We were there during Easter we had another surprise in our room that day too. If you have the chance and want an experience that you'll never forget this is the place to stay.

The room was very comfy and clean. Amenities were great, robes and slippers, etc. The breakfast selection was great as well as the menu selection. Would stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was very enjoyable and comfortable! The service was really one of the best. Pros: - beautiful rooftop bar overlooking the city - nice gym to work out - extra friendly and helpful staff - close proximity to city and mostly all walking distance - complimentary bikes to bike around the city - free umbrella rentals for all the rain! - bathroom had heated floors! - quiet, comfy rooms Cons: - covered parking was expensive per night (around 30s) Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a calm, peaceful stay.

We'd such a wonderful visit to Dublin, Ireland. Our stay at The Marker Hotel made it extra special. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. There was a bowl of fresh apples and they offered us boxed water. Plus it's a walkable location into town. Hotel lobby is bright and clean. We arrived around 11:00 a.m. and even though we were exhausted, our travel agent had requested an early checkin. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready until the regular checkin time. The reason is because we reserved a room with a small room attached to ours with an extra bed. It was the perfect setup for our teenage son traveling with us. His room wasn't much bigger than a walk-in closet, but it was so nice for our son to have his own space attached to our room. Every single employee we met or came across at The Market Hotel were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our room, which was spacious and bright. The buffet breakfast was impressive. You can enjoy food from their breakfast menu as well as the food on the buffet. The wait staff, front desk, and bell staff helped answer all our questions. Wonderful indoor pool, gym and spa. A nice part was even though the hotel was busy, we never needed to wait for an elevator, like you often do in some hotels. The best part was after a day of sightseeing, a few evenings we enjoyed the hotel's bar & restaurant meals. Food was very good. Plus walking distance to grocery stores and local restaurants. The only advice I'd give is if you need to get a cab, there can be a bit of a wait. Just let someone at the concierge know what time you need your cab by and they'll order it to be there around your needed time. I highly recommend this hotel and we'd definitely stay here on a future return trip to Dublin!

This is a beautiful space with incredible 360* views of both North and South Dublin among the river/quay. Raymond was most helpful in giving us a brief history of Dublin and helped orient us to the area from the rooftop deck/bar. Despite the enclosed bar being only available/open to hotel guests due to limited space and cold dreary weather closing off additional seats for safety, we were welcomed warmly and encouraged to return when the weather was more accommodating for the open deck seating to be enjoyed. Beautiful woolen throws adorned lounge chairs and even though we were upstairs a little while, it leaves you eager to come back for more! Instead, we enjoyed a "rally" hot toddy in the lounge bar that was specifically created to help warm us and soothe our souls during the typical cold drizzle Dublin tends to have. Lemons stuffed with cloves, Manuka honey, fresh ginger, hot water, and Jameson! Served with crack snacks and beautiful people watching-what more could one need? Thank you for a great ending to a wonderful stay in your city!

This review is for the sky bar only. This is one of the very few rooftop bars in Dublin. First of all you have to wait to get on the elevator and they radio someone to make sure they have a table available. They do not take reservations for parties smaller than 10. The entire setup up there has a bunch of waisted space. if you don't have a table they will not let you go up, which is very strange. The bar food offered is subpar. I have asked for a Tito's martinis and they came and told me that is 20 euros. Iso a strange thing like I was not going to pay or maybe they thought I could not afford it. Not a fan of this place.

Box of 4 cronuts for €10. Absolutely delicious!

I've come to absolutely love this place. Sure it's pricey, but if you're feeling like spoling yourself this is the place to go. The decor is very modern and spacious. The bar area is very classy yet comfortable with lots of couches and there is table service. The cocktails are delicious but pricey. I usually just opt for 1 cocktail for a treat, but have found that they are big enough to sip away at for a good while. The rooftop bar has some of the best views that the city centre has to offer. Be warned, however, that on a sunny day there will be a waiting time of 30-40 mins before you can get up there. However you are welcome to sit in the bar area on the ground floor and they'll phone you when you are able to go upstairs. Another amazing thing about the Marker is that they now sell Cronuts. Cronuts are a croissant-doughnut hybrid which has become the new craze in NYC. The Marker makes a limited amount every morning and sells them from 9am in boxes of 4 for a tenner. Go try them, they are yum. The real icing on the cake and reason for my 5-star review though are the staff. Every time I've been here I've found the staff to be exceptionally lovely and helpful.

The Marker Hotel is: A hotel, a restaurant, a (rooftop) bar, and a Cronut establishment. This review will cover the last 3 of those categories. CRONUTS A Donut made from croissant dough. Invented in May 2013 in New York by the world famous artisan baker Dominique Ansel. With huge queues outside from 6am, it goes without saying that these things were popular. These have now been imitated in the Marker hotel and you really have to taste it. BAR The Marker has a rooftop bar (I uploaded some pictures), it's very nice on sunny days, and very busy. You'll expect to "queue" for a good hour to get up to the roof on a nice day. I have to say that the queuing experience was truly miserable, we had our mobile number taken and were asked, nay FORCED, to sit down and wait for them to call us. The drink service was fast and efficient, and the chairs were terrible!(-y comfortable). The place is expensive, €5.50 for a guinnes, cocktails for €12-€13, but that's to be expected, the cocktails are not as bad value as you'd expect though, they're mroe than twice the size of the €5 cocktails you'd see advertised elsewhere in Dublin. On the note of the rooftop bar, here's a tip: go on a rainy day. The rooftop bar has an indoor part and a covered part, and they give out blankets. I've been to the roof twice, on a nice day and on a rainy miserable day, and I thought the view was much nicer in the rain. Maybe I'm just a soppy romantic, but Dublin can be at its nicest when it rains. HOTEL living less than 500 metres from this establishment, I have yet to spend the night there.

Was lucky enough to be treated to a Valentine's tasting meal here in February and wow, was it impressive! The hotel has such a modern, exclusive feel and the atmosphere was buzzing. The staff were so friendly and professional and the food was incredible, my starter of cured fish was the best I've had all year. The other courses were all top-notch, with the main of beef being another stand-out, it literally melted in the mouth and the accompanying sauce was on another level of deliciousness. A box of pretty pink macaroons to take home rounded off the meal beautifully and was a great touch. If you are looking for somewhere to be wined and dined and do a spot of people-watching then The Marker is the place for you. One brief aside...I'd heard that the roof-top bar was fabulous and was really looking forward to having a post-dinner drink there but it was closed for the evening by the time we'd finished....just the excuse I need to back really haha!!

High standard all the way! Very posh hotel, very nice luxurious design! I was attending there Blogger Conference. Food was very good, healthy sandwiches and protein low calorie snacks, 99% at the conference were females, it was great to know some bloggers , it was a fun day ! There were several tables there served with tea and coffee, so during our breaks we enjoyed our chats and a cuppa! Staff was very friendly and very nice to us. The only thing it was very cold in the hall we had conference on so i had to stay in my coat

Lovely modern hotel in a great location for work (boo!) with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Taxi rank outside which is handy. Wifi thoughout the hotel - it was free at time of writing so let's hope it stays that way! -= Lobby =- The front desk is off-centred to the left from the front doors, so doesn't give you that grand lobby feeling when you enter. Staff are extremely polite and helpful - even at 2am in the morning. To the right you have a large open bar area where you can have drinks, tea, cakes and snacks. As a business traveller I love the 'hot desk' area where you can get your laptop out and do some serious business (!) whilst chowing down on some cakes and a pot of tea. Power outlet and desk lamps are a nice touch! -= Room =- Rooms are spacious, new and minimalistic. Comfy beds and gorgeous crispy smooth sheets with plenty of pillows will ensure a good night's sleep. Beware of the curtains - they are blackout ones so make sure you set your alarm or a wake up call in case you oversleep like I almost did! If you're sensitive to light these curtains can make or break you. -= Chocs and Biscuits =- I love food, especially 'free' food which is always great: - 2 little mint crisp chocolates on the bed - Packet of 2 biscuits in the tea/coffee tray. -= Bathroom =- Tiled all around with under floor heating which is lovely first thing in the morning. The bath is bigger than my own at home and fills up quite quickly - had a lovely soak :) The shower is separate and divided by a glass door and panel. Only thing that irked me was the fixed shower head - a removable head on a pipe would be better for short people! Lovely large mirror and toiletries include: - Body wash - Shampoo - Conditioner - Body lotion - 2 soaps. They don't always give you conditioner so sometimes you'll have to call the main desk to send some up. This is annoying if you realise you're missing conditioner when in the shower with head lathered in shampoo!! -= Pool, Spa and Gym =- Only open until 9pm. This is pretty awful of a hotel of this class. -= Rooftop Bar =- Gorgeous views across the canal, and a nice place to lounge with friends over a few bevvies. Can get a bit annoying with all the selfie-taking fashionistas, but overall a good vibe. -= Breakfast =- I was absolutely delighted to find the famous CRONUTS in the pastries section of the breakfast buffet. A cross between a doughnut and a croissant, these beauties really made my stay. My favourite is the blueberry one with cream inside. Drinks: They have a choice of 3 freshly squeezed juices, hot drinks and milk. Great choice of fresh fruits, dried fruits cereals and breads. Also hot food: standard 'English breakfast' with the Irish potato cakes. Pastries: Little croissants, pain au chocolats, cronuts, and other delights. If I am working in Dublin, this is the only hotel I will stay in! Thanks and keep up the great work!

A little disappointed! With this place on my bucket list for a few months was super excited to spend afternoon of an anniversary here. Place is ultra modern and we decided to opt for the bar which on arrival was super busy... After bn greeted, we were seated in a small table off the view of the main bar so it took away of the flair for me, the table was still dirty with tea stains and to my surprise they seated us, offered menu but FAIL to clean the table down. The food was nice, not the standard I hear their brasserie is like but all the same, a good bits to eat and reasonable prices however as tables were cleared, basic things were amiss... Plates cleared but table not wiped down so we had to work away crumbs finished our coffees and dessert - shame! A lot of staff on so these little things shouldn't have been missed plus was obvious there was no 'order' about the service between waiters and heads as ye could over hear then asking tables for order but order already taken, niggling things! Has potential to be super amazing go to spot in Dublin - not giving up on this place yet...! I'll give then a second chance someday soon to impress

The rooftop bar is the main selling point of The Marker for me - the views are stunning and even on a chilly night it's cosy with heated areas and bright yellow blankets to snuggle up in. The cocktails are a spectacle in themselves - I ordered one that was 'infused with cinnamon' where cinnamon sticks were were lit in an upturned glass, allowing the smoke to fill the tumbler. Not sure it impacted the taste massively but it was interesting to watch it being made nonetheless! Cocktails are pricey (€12+) but regular beers and wines are reasonable. The general downstairs bar is also really nice, it has quite a corporate atmosphere unlike the rooftop however the food is good and the drinks decently priced. I love the touch of olives being brought to your table when there's a round of drinks ordered - it makes me come here over other bars in the area that charge similar prices without the little extras.

This might be one of my favorite meals of all my travels. We were immediately seated and taken care of in a small cove. It was very secluded and quiet for a nice date night. The service was on top of it, someone at the table every few minutes. It's definitely an experience. They have some phenomenal wine options by the glass or bottle. We started with the avocado ponzu which omg really set the stage, it had perfect flavors. My fiancé got the duck, which was so tender and flavorful and the pepper sauce (mousse?) was to die for. I got the potato dumplings on the vegetarian menu and they had chunks of perfectly cooked morels! The sauce and the flavors were so delicately paired and showed the no brainer of why this spot is recognized my Michelin. We also got the side of carrots and the aroncini, both super tasty. It was a wonderful meal, definitely an experience. I could have ate the broccoli as a full meal it was amazing. The team here would come and check on me and have casual conversations with me. They were engaged and I enjoyed the conversations. I loved this place and absolutely will recommend making a reservation here.

But all that self consciousness evaporates when someone is digging their elbow in your back. "Just relax your leg." "I am." "Wow you are tense." Let me tell you feeling a popping sensation in your back is not hot. Having a masseuse take a focused battle to those muscles incites a range of emotions, such as you want her to win but you want her to stop too (she did ask me to speak up if the pressure was too much, so you do have control). "What popped?" "Oh that's just your muscles you have lots of knots. I am pushing them back were they should be." "Oh." "You are very tense." "I'm sorry." Why did I just apologise I asked myself.
