Premier Diner is a pretty solid Long Island Diner, we've been coming here for years. Right off the L.I.E, it's a home run hit for everyone. Spending a day with my sister in law and her family, we have plenty of mouths to feed. It's late and no one feels like cooking. Someone screams lets go to "The Diner"! Off we go to Premier Diner. This diner is perfect because my little niece can order pancakes on a Sunday night, the kids order hamburgers and I can order Souvlaki that's cooked so perfect it would make my Greek Granny proud. My husband and I went last night for dinner. He ordered a burger which was almost raw when he bit into it. Waiter offered to get him a new burger. He comes back with the same burger recooked with my husband's bite marks in it. We were horrified. That is poor food handling and made me wonder what other bad food handling practices they do. Food was awful. Two Jack Daniel's chicken sandwiches both dry and overcooked. Cheese was barely melted. Chicken parmigiana hero - chicken had that weird, rubbery texture. Burger asked for medium rare. It was well done and like eating a hockey puck. Fried chicken was greasy and not even crispy and the Caesar salad had lettuce that was brown around the edges. Fries soggy. BLT had one strip of bacon and food was barely lukewarm. Service was terrible. Older woman with dark hair. Asked three times for waters to be refilled. Waitress never refilled. Never checked to see if we needed anything. Charges us for an extra $25 meal we didn't order. Food is outrageously overpriced. The Premier Dinner is a diamond. They expanded so beautifully, and now there is not a long wait to get seated on a Sunday morning. It is run so professionally, and there are always positive vibes by All. The menu is extensive, and the food is excellent, with ample portions. 1st- No WiFi? WTF? 2nd- the highest prices in diner history (IMO). 3rd-Noisey. But, my wife loved it. She got LOX ( and plenty of it) & cream cheese. She also liked the coffee. It was good & HOT. My grandson Bob, who is a Special Needs kid, had a hamburger, which was very large & juicy. Me, I had bacon & eggs, which were overcooked, home fries: mediocre. I'm a big fan of Diners. Whenever I see one that I've not been at, i have an irresistible urge to go. With this diner I should have resisted that urge. First, why is 90 percent of the main menu sandwiches or some combination of meat sandwiches between bread? The menu needs some work there. I ordered a very simple cheeseburger and fries. I asked that the cheeseburger be cooked medium well. The middle of the burger was almost raw. I had to cut around the raw burger to actually eat it. If I weren't in a rush I would have complained. Now on to the french fries. They weren't even completely cooked. Making both portions of my meal undercooked. It's pretty hard to mess up a cheeseburger and fries folks This Diner achieved both. The pricing also is an issue. Almost $16 for a cheeseburger and fries. Ouch. I should have read the Yelp reviews before coming here. Lesson learned. read more

$21.95 for a club sandwich. This is a diner not anything more. Your typical glass and chrome gaudy diner. Quality very poor - dry sandwich hidden under a generous pile of flavorless fries. Service during an off hours time was non existent. Cashier had to bring my mayo to save the dry club. Just a small dish please ... he brings 3 Hellmans packets. Nobody can open those things eating finger food. A wee pair of Hellmans scissors would have worked I guess. Hardly enviro friendly "solution" to a simple customer need. As a native of Long Island when I come to visit, there are so many eateries I desire and usually frequent- NOT THIS TIME! Aside from one night getting pizza, Breakfast Lunch and Dinners were all at this diner. The food was that Good! Yes it is pricey, but the quality and the quantity far surpasses the price! The fairly large Commack diner is located off the Long Island Expressway on Commack Road. As they say location, location, location, and this diners location and good fresh meal offerings surely supports the reason for its crowds on a Monday. I have been to this diner offer for lunch after playing an early round of Golf when returning to home base. Most of the time we had ordered sandwiches soup or something other than salad. This was the first time I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. When the salad arrived, I realized that we should have just ordered one salad and split it for lunch. The salad portion was quite large, but understandably for twenty-five dollars one would expect a heaping portion. Typical LI dinner food is good, nice selection. They recently renovated and looks amazing fire place and huge windows that can open in the nice weather. But the prices of course has increased to cover cost. Don't expect to sit and chat they are rushing you out. Need to turnover tables. read more

The diner was very good with lots of parking outside. It was very pleasant inside and the people there were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The only question I have for this place was the prices. The food was fine but the prices were very high. I had a Reuben sandwich and a diet soda and paid $27 for it which is like Manhattan prices. I looked at some of the other prices on the menu and I was astounded that they were charging $32 for chicken Cordon Bleu. However, I don't know what else is around there so I guess if you're hungry and you want a good meal and you don't mind paying those prices than it's a good place to go. read more

It is also a mint so the owner should smile a little more instead of the standard " they're out to get me look". The service is a bit odd hence the 4 stars . I ordered a chicken cordon blue and it looked like something you would get from domino's and a really crappy rendition of it. Over 20 dollars for that garbage and the burgers were nothing but average. For the price we paid you think it was some 5 star establishment. So far from it! And the staff on this night was not exactly the most friendly. Maybe it could've been because it was busy, but I doubt it. Our waitress barely existed.
