Pregos is an Italian pizza restaurant particularly well known for their ability to cater for coeliacs. I have eaten there on many occasions, and their gluten-free pizzas are simply amazing. They have a separate food preparation area for GF food - something very rare amongst restaurants claiming to cater for coeliacs. We have always eaten there early, so it has been quiet and service has been good. Unfortunately they don't open until 5pm. I'd eat there more often at weekends if they opened for lunch. They lose a star for ambiance - it feels more like a take-away chipper but the food makes up for it. read more

This restaurant caters for Celiacs with all dishes on the menu adaptable. I was dying for a nice pizza (i haven't been able to eat one in over a year). I ordered a Sofia Loren. When the pizza was served at the table all hopes of enjoying my meal were dashed. The pizza was drenched in oil, the base was soggy and fell apart. I managed to lift one slice and the toppings just slid right off! Wont be eating pizza there again. on the upside the bruscetta was nice so they deserve a star for that! Surprisingly nice restaurant in the heart of the Ballyowen Shopping Centre in Lucan! Perfect place to dine with a couple of friends before/after a shopping trip or just to grab a quick bite to eat. The walls are flourished with the famous Mona Lisa portrait, presumably because of the Italian food-Leonardo connection? The atmosphere was relatively calm considering the location; a nice place to escape the shopping buzz.The food is tasty; I had the chicken stuffed with spinach in a creamy sun dried tomato sauce and it was wonderful. It's also worthwhile to note they do gluten-free pizzas and other coeliac-friendly dishes. They also have real Italian ice cream, or banoffee pie (delish!) as a desert option. Firstly I never write reviews but I feel enough is enough, I would always feel that everyone needs a chance or training etc. but this person needs to be removed from the business 1 I have order the last 4 times and each time my order has not been correct. from putting the worn toppings on the pizza to putting pizza toppings in my pasta to not giving my pizza order to the chef to giving my food to the wrong person, none of the above have been the chefs doing it is all to do with the person taking the order I have seen my dockets. My god how does this person tie their shoe laces. 2 This is very strange but if I order on line from just eat I can avail of all special offers Monday to Sunday, but if I walk in or call on the phone I can only get the special offers Monday to Thursday. I have seen the same person that messes up my orders turn away business 5 times for not giving the special offers on a Saturday or Sunday. Order at your own risk but get the order read back to you and then again then ask them to hand it to the chef and come back telling you its all done. This is an amazing little Italian restaurant, cheap as chips, serving up delicious authentic Italian food. Definately Lucans best kept secret, so hidden away above a pizza parlor. The first time I ate there I couldn't believe it was right under my nose for so long & I hadn't noticed it before. It's so cute, like eating in someone's living room, it's small & intimate. An ideal date place. The waitors are all Italian & really funny & friendly. Excellent wine selection & some interesting & unusual pizza combinations. I was really impressed with this place, definately worth a visit & won't break the bank! read more

This place does great pizzas for those who are celiac or wanting gluten free pizzas...they also have a small restaurant upstairs and the pizza mains are really nice...they've won lots of awards for their pizzas according to the menu !!! read more

Ordered a takeaway tonight from this place and oh my goodness. Never again. €12.50 for pasta, chips, can and delivery: seems like a sweet deal. NOOOO. Every second chip was almost entirely frozen and hard, pasta was so bland and flavourless (albeit a basic tomato and basil sauce) and I had to add a lot of the black pepper I had at home. Halfway through I pulled a long hair from my food and then spotted another small one among the spaghetti. NO, just no. I didn't call them as I had already eaten a bit, and also really just wanted to have a nice relaxing evening without going through the stress of calling them and arguing until I maybe might get my €12.50 back. But, gross. Disappointing for a place that I thought was lovely when I first visited. read more

Pregos has recently re-opened after being closed for a couple of months and I am afraid this is not the Pregos we once loved. It appears to be under new management and although the staff are just as friendly and attentive as the previous management the food is very poor. We visited on St. Patricks day and ordered two pasta dishes and chicken burgers for the kids. The meatballs were like something that came out of a tin and were sitting in pool of watery sauce. The other pasta dish was extremely tasteless, it either had too little seasoning or had not been freshly cooked. The kids chicken burgers, although we were delighted at first to see was chicken fillets, were very dry and again looked like they had been left sitting under heat for too long. When it reopened It was very nice and very quick price wasn't bad as for delivery last two times I got them over. An hour and when it came food was cold and I live less than 6 minutes.
