I had multiple MRI's on a couple of days. First time I waited almost a full hour for appointment and was overcharged. I had to go to a lot of effort to get my refund. The second appointment had a reasonable wait time but again was overcharged. I have gone through significant effort to get the refund which they agree was overcharged, however, have not received it yet and the service was over a month ago. Technician and front desk are pleasant which is the only reason I gave them more than 1 star. read more

I came to Preferred for a couple MRI's of my back. I was given pricing for my procedure prior to the day of arrival and it was a bit high. I researched the prices for the area on my insurance website and found many other locations who did the procedure cheaper. I called back in and mentioned this to the office manager and they matched the price so I could keep my appointment. :D Once I showed up and checked in, they offered a snack and drink while I waited. It was a quick wait and went into a locker room of sorts to change. A nice gentleman walked me into the MRI room and showed me how to position myself on the table and played the radio station of my choice during. The only negative to the whole process was that they did not have a TV or anything to watch during and the series of tests I had took two hours or more so it was a long time to lay in a tube with very loud thumping noises over my music. Also, the technician did not explain the procedure or the length I was expected to lay there at first so I thought for a minute they kept doing the same test over and over and pressed the call button. I had never done an MRI before so I was not sure what to expect but he then explained it to me. They handed me a disc with the photos on it before I left and had the results to my doctor quickly for review. read more

Showed up to an appointment and was told that they canceled it. They said they have notes that they tried to call several times and never heard back. We confirmed they what number they were calling and it was correct, but pulled up the call log on our phone. They called ONE time (not several), left a voicemail and we called them back 6 minutes later and left a voicemail message to confirm. Then they offered to get us in about 2 or 3 hours later. I'm sorry that doesn't work. "We can get you in again next week." No for sure that doesn't work as the doctor wants to have surgery next week and needs the imaging done ASAP, not next week!! The were able "to make it work" today at the same time, so the end of the story is- call to confirm until you speak to someone. Then call to confirm again. Be safe and call to confirm the day of too. They weren't rude, but not the level of service I am putting up with anymore in this WORLD OF NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE. God whatever happened to service or this world in general... After all that they were really nice about it but still somewhere a disconnect between whoever scheduled and called to confirm or something. read more

Was told by my dr to go on Saturday and they were closed although hours show 8-5 on Saturday and no one answers the phone. I called Monday morning for an appointment and no one answered so I left a voicemail. I was called back and given a same day appointment at 5:30pm. I show up and they're closed but hours posted show 8-7pm mon-Fri. I called several times but no answer and left a message. Never coming back here, there are several other places that would welcome and appreciate their customers. read more

SCAM ALERT: Went for an MRI, lady at the counter took my ID and insurance card. Told me I would need to pay $450 per scan. I called my insurance-CIGNA, counter lady took my cellphone and spoke to CIGNA for 30 minutes (pretty odd to take and use my cellphone with Covid risk?). After 1 hour wait so far, her talking to my insurance provider.....she said: "a case is started, but you still need to pay first". WARNINGS STARTED GOING OFF IN MY HEAD.......so I walked out the door. I then called CIGNA and was told there was no record of a MRI request from this MRI clinicand there is no such thing as a "case" (which is what she said she did) the action needed by the insurance company is "pre-authorization". So, to me, ACUMEN/PREFERRED MRI, appears to be running a scam. read more

I have Insurance gave them everything they asked for and/or filled out paperwork. They gave me my insurance card and ID back. They called me in went to the back. They put me in the Machine. Came back out and charge me $961.09!!!! Didn't tell me how much it was going to be. Only after the fact. If I would have known before hand I would have left. So no I don't recommend this place!!!!! read more

I was scheduled to have an MRI. According to the it was going to be 30+ minutes. It couldn't be an open one because of the detail of the picture they needed for the test requested. At first I was pleasantly surprised and elated in the MRI machine. It did not look as menacing as other machines I've experienced. My "tech" seemed very nice and compassionate to the fears and apprehensions involved in one of these awful, frightening tests. My test involved contrast. Meaning stopping the "X-ray" process, bring me out of the machine and injecting me with dye. This would help make the issue they were trying to "X-ray" clearer and easier to see. After five different TRIES at locating a vein, poking, pushing needle deeper into my arm, looking for a vein, pounding on my arm, turnicates tied around my already sore arm because they had done it so many times, THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE trying to do it and INJECTING THE DYE INTO MY ARM BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS IN A VEIN AND WAS NOT! It burns and hurts when this occurs. I told them to stop! That I was not an "explicative" pin cushion...they stopped. There were two "techs" there. A man and a woman. Only the woman helped me sit up. The "man" just stood there and looked at me. I asked them shouldn't they have just someone who could locate a vein? She said they do iv's all day. I said obviously not. Shouldn't they have a nurse doing it? I asked if she wanted me to walk out into the waiting room with my arms looking like they did. I had to ask for a bandaid and the arm where the dye wasn't put into my vein but wrongly just injected into my arm was all blue from where my arm bent at the elbow to my wrist!! Today (the day after) it's bruised and sore and I have 5 injection sites!! I've never used yelp before. But, on this experience I felt I needed to tell people this is not ok! Tell them to stop. Tell your doctor what happened and demand to go somewhere reputable and that has a phlebotomist or nurse available. No. Never again. Regardless of what they tell you it doesn't make the process any better. Make sure you don't pay for a dye injected X-ray and you DO NOT have to endure this kind of discomfort, pain or awful service! I cried when I left and couldn't believe how badly I was treated. It was an awful, awful experience! read more

Find another MRI provider, or be VERY careful to be your own insurance advocate! They were so anxious to schedule me for an MRI that they overlooked whether they were in network for my insurance, and they also failed to see that it required a pre-authorization. Since their location was not in network they submitted the pre-authorization through another location that they said was in network (it was not) and then told me that they'll just submit the bill as out of network. I explained that if they submit it as out of network I'll have to pay for it out of my own pocket, and their response was "they'll know", in other words my insurance will know that the other location was in network so this one should be too--it just wasn't in network "yet". Fortunately I called my insurance and learned that I was correct it would have cost me 100% of the charges which is thousands of dollars. They showed no concern whatsoever for my injury or for the financial risk they wanted me to take just so that they could get me scheduled. All that double-talk reminded me of buying a used car. Go somewhere else for your MRI! read more
