My experience at Crown Imaging was ok. I had an appointment at 2:30pm for an MRI without contrast. They make you change into a gown and wait in a second waiting room with other patients. I didn't start my MRI until 3pm. MRI was done by 3:30pm. You should expect a bit of a wait, I brought a book. The MRI tech was not very friendly and seemed nonchalant. read more

Had a CAT Scan in January 2017. Had to pay an extra amount above my copay amount. I was told this is because my insurance company (one of the nation's largest) is not good at paying and they will reimburse me once they get paid). They were paid in February. It is now Mid April and I'm still trying to get the over paid amount back. Otherwise, service was good, paperwork easy and scheduling was quick. read more

I had a MRI scheduled for this morning, and unfortunately couldn't do it as I am very claustrophobic. The staff were so accommodating and especially the tech who did my scan was so kind and patient. They were able to get me back in for this afternoon at three after I had a prescription to help calm me down and it went so smoothly! Truly am so grateful for them going above and beyond to help turn a very scary situation into one that was more manageable. read more

Let me start out this review by saying if I could give Crown Imaging zero stars I would! If your doctor recommends this place for imaging of any kind...RUN the opposite direction! My husband had a 10:30 AM appointment to have several x-rays along with an MRI done. We arrived at 10:20 AM. We did not walk out of there until 1:30 PM! We never figured out what the problem was and no one was telling us. But I do know that folks that came in way after my husband were taken back for their MRIs and came back out long before my husband was taken into the MRI room. I don't know if they are just completely disorganized or over booked, but either way it was totally unacceptable! My husband's doctor will get an earful from us when we see him again. read more

Based on being a patient twice (once for an MRI because of a tibia plateau fracture, and once recently, for a CAT scan), I can report that not only is the facility extremely clean, new and comfortable, and the staff are extremely professional and competent, but also [LISTEN UP] when I did a cost check both times, Crown Imagining (which is a preferred BC/BS provider) is the MOST AFFORDABLE. Please, please folks -- even if you have a serious injury (as have I) -- remember that you always have a choice and you should always comparison shop. I learned this from the orthopedic nurse who treated my fracture, and, sure enough, it was the difference between paying out of pocket $2500 at another place and $700 at Crown. Recently, I went to a hospital imaging office and was handed a bill for $1300, told that that's all that insurance covers. I got the diagnosis code and the code for the type of imaging that had been ordered and called the 800 number for my insurance. I specifically asked if Crown was still in my network and if they could do this image. The insurance line informed me that the cost would be. [drumroll] $190. I am not making that up!! I just about fell out of my chair. I went the same day, the image and results were at my doctor's the same day, and I was able to get in the next day for a follow up with my doctor. Furthermore, at EVERY stage, Emily (who works at Crown) was so incredibly helpful. No "Press 7 for a nurse" here!! My doctor was having trouble because his own hospital demands that all reports go to a centralized office, and Emily was quick and pleasant rushing two secure versions of the results to see which one he could get first. Really, Emily -- and everyone else who works there -- have been nothing but fantastic. I am so so grateful for their service and I want all patients and doctors in the DFW area to know how great they are. They're right across from Presby Hospital on Walnut Hill in the Bank of America building. I live in Irving, but, hey, what is 20 minute drive with this kind of service and saving ... $1100. read more

Remedied: they called me twice to learn more about my experience and what they could do to make it better (at the very least, to call or text if running behind). They assured me this wouldn't happen in the future, that they were addressing this at their weekly staff meeting. When I called to make an appointment, I asked if They had 3:30 available. They told me no, that they they only had 3PM available. I arrived at 2:50 for my 3PM appointment, and at 3:30 I still had not been seen for my X-ray, so I checked in w/ the woman at the front desk who told me they'd be with me shortly. It wasn't until 3:48 that I was called in for my X-ray appointment. Why can't these places call or text you in advance if they're running behind?! I've got a schedule and job too... No respect for my time whatsoever. Aren't I their customer?! I can (and will) go to other imaging centers in the future. The place was very clean and they had nice music TV on in the background to distract you from the MRI beeping/sounds. read more

Very nice, clean, and efficient facility. Came in for a bone scan which I knew little about but the head of radiology explained everything perfectly. I felt very special and well taken care of. A lot of times, I go to doctors and other medical care places and I have to wait like 30 minutes past my appointment time, leading me to take off more time from my schedule. I got in early for both times I came in, which I really appreciated. read more

Well . I hear they don't do sedation for MRI's anymore . I'll have to find another Imaging center now . I'm highly claustrophobic and can barely lie flat more that 10 minutes . I was sedated just to have a CT scan . My doctor sent me a RX to take before my CT of my face . It was the shortest CT scan I've ever had . And I have had many of both CT and MRI's . They are great here but I see no reason to do the drive after this time . Not all Imaging places are the same . I recommend. read more

This place was literally $513 CHEAPER than the first place I went to for X-rays and an MRI. The office and tech staff were nice, there are TVs in waiting areas and zero gravity chairs to sit in if your back is the issue like mine was. I had 2 separate MRIs done at this facility and the staff is very friendly! Everyone seemed knowledgeable and professional. The MRI tech, Walt, made me feel very comfortable and reassured me throughout the scan. (there were some loud noises from the machine but he made sure to let me know I was doing great). Came here because UTSW charges hospital fees so pricing differs greatly. Overall, wonderful experience. read more

I had 2 MRIs here and I am extremely claustrophobic. The staff was super kind and understanding and patient with me. If not for the assistance of the staff I wouldn't have been able to get through the 20 minutes in the tube each time so I could have the necessary spinal fusion surgeries. Plus, they were hundreds of dollars less than anywhere else and I had other tests I was undergoing and physicians I was seeing at the time as well. I highly recommend them. read more

Freezing cold holding room where they administered the "chill out" pills... because everyone getting an MRI must be a drug abuser. Children running around with no supervision... and a rude technician constantly screaming at you to not fall asleep. Um, this is my day off, and this is MY MRI, I am going to sleep if I want to. In fact, every other MRI I have had they told me to try to fall asleep. Waited until 12 hours before I was supposed to arrive to tell me that I had to have $965.00 for the MRI, although the appointment had been on their books for over two weeks. When I just about fell out of my chair laughing at them, the only concession they could make was offer to reschedule. I called the neurosurgeon who ordered the MRI, who told me I only had to pay $365 that day and that they would work it out with the Imaging Center. I paid that $365, which was supposed to go directly to the neurosurgeon ... and they never paid him. To top it all off, Tracey and I (who was there to drive me home) had a wonderful time sitting in the front lobby correcting all the typographical and grammatical errors on all the forms I filled out. Crown Imaging was a great experience beginning with the prompt availability when scheduling my appointment, to the receptionist, to the facility and all those that I came in contact with while completing my first ever MRI scan. There was great service all of the workers were very nice to me i. The process of getting an MRI and just an all around great experience.

I had an appointment. 1 hour after the appointment time I was finally in the machine. Now for my personal take on the place. I think it is very unprofessional for a 20 year old to call a 70 year old by a first name. This seems to be the going thing now. I was taught that age deserves respect and respect is given by a using a title. Ie. Mr or Ms. There is no respect in using a first name. This does not sit well with me. Never should a person in the Public Service use the first name unless they are given permission by the customer. WHAT has gone wrong with business. I do not blame the employees It is the responsibility of owners and management to be sure the employees are trained to show respect. As for what they were paid to do and the person, Jodie. She was very professional and did not rush me. She showed a professional concern and talked me thru the procedure. No complaint on that which is the most important part. Update: I have been contacted by the owner. It was explained that the using of the last name would be in violation of HIPPA. (another useless law from our Government). I cannot blame the business or the employees on that. My wait time was explained. I understand, IT happens, hopefully it can be prevented as most people report they had a short wait. The people were fine, but their MRI machine was literally the smallest I've ever been in. You'd think an imaging center would have more options and possibly even an open MRI. I have had several MRI's and this one was the worst. When I asked for headphones with music I was told it was broke, what?!? Then given a ball to squeeze if I needed out. Hell, I was crammed in the machine so much I could barely move to squeeze it. Always remember cheaper is not better!! If it was not for me taking meds before there is no way in hell I would've stayed. After trying with arms above headed they were getting squeezed and arms by my side it was just as bad. I'm not a little guy, but I'm definitely not huge. These machines are for just an average size person. If you're a bigger person and or workout and have broad shoulders I'd suggest looking somewhere else. read more

I always check reviews before going somewhere new. I am glad that I did not in this instance. I made the appointment - very easy. Filled out paperwork and faxed back prior to the visit. I walked into a clean and very professional and friendly staff. I waited roughly 3 minutes before being taken back to x ray room. I was shown to a room to change and to lock my belongings in a locker. I waited roughly 20 minutes in a quiet and calming waiting room until I was called in. Every person I came in contact with was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend. read more

Crown imaging is where I had an ankle MRI. My technologists were Walt and Jodie. They made my experience as easy as possible. They pride themselves on patient care and making sure you are comfortable. It was my first MRI and I was extremely nervous but they made it a piece of cake! If I ever need to go back that's where I'm going! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing any imaging done in the DFW area. read more

Great place. I use a high deductible HSA so shop around for the best price, and this place had the best prices I could find. Radiologists are fully credentialed and US trained, and is technologically up to date. Friendly staff in nice clean environment. Would definitely use again and highly recommend. read more

I have been using Crown since 2013 - CT scans and MRIs and post procedure CT scans that included having to get contrast. I have used other imaging facilities in the past before, but I prefer Crown. I can get an appointment right away, the staff is great, professional and they seem to know what they are doing. They contact the insurance company right away and you KNOW what to expect for copays, etc. They are VERY accommodating for your procedure . . . they are QUICK - i'm not waiting around and wasting time just waiting to be seen. The review below that was 1-Star may have been owned by someone else in 2009, which could explain the vast difference in what i experienced vs what Aimee Z experienced, but I have NEVER had any bad experience with Crown over the past 3 years i've used them. The only thing i hate is filling out the SAME paperwork when i go in for an exam - I guess i would prefer them having a form that says something like: 'Are there any changes since you were last here?" BUt, i do understand the legal issues surrounding why they have these forms to fill out. How about an electronic system like some dentists office have, or an IPAD like some orthopedic offices have where you just enter the info on the pad or computer But this is really an inconvenience somewhat - life isn't all 24/7 convenience.
