I have gone through significant effort to get the refund which they agree was overcharged, however, have not received it yet and the service was over a month ago. I researched the prices for the area on my insurance website and found many other locations who did the procedure cheaper. I called back in and mentioned this to the office manager and they matched the price so I could keep my appointment. :D Once I showed up and checked in, they offered a snack and drink while I waited. It was a quick wait and went into a locker room of sorts to change. A nice gentleman walked me into the MRI room and showed me how to position myself on the table and played the radio station of my choice during. The only negative to the whole process was that they did not have a TV or anything to watch during and the series of tests I had took two hours or more so it was a long time to lay in a tube with very loud thumping noises over my music. Also, the technician did not explain the procedure or the length I was expected to lay there at first so I thought for a minute they kept doing the same test over and over and pressed the call button. I had never done an MRI before so I was not sure what to expect but he then explained it to me. They handed me a disc with the photos on it before I left and had the results to my doctor quickly for review.

I've seen many freestanding radiology practices disappear, along with my reports and images, many of which would be valuable for comparison if only they were available. My first tip: Stick with a company with proven longevity, such as SWDIC. My second tip: Get all of your outpatient imaging done at the same place so that you will know how to quickly find what a provider may want to see some day. SWDIC does every procedure I can think of. My next tip: if you have special needs, go to an imaging center where the staff and their accomodations can meet your needs easily. Two examples: at SWDIC, I always had the best of care from Cindy, the same mammography tech year after year, despite my limitations from MS. And I know of no other place you can have an MRI if you can't just get up and walk away from your power wheelchair (Don't I wish!) and walk the long distance to the MRI table. Uh, there's a good reason that I must use a power wheelchair, and only SWDIC has an MRI with a detachable exam table that can be brought to the patient who can't trek to an attached exam table! I thank God for the foresight of SWDIC clinical and executive staff for providing this invaluable tool! Never have I ever met a SWIC staff member, from schedulers to the front desk, to the professional staff who was not both professional and kind, and personal if the interaction was long enough. You may well leave with your images and reports in hand; just ask, if that will be helpful. And don't get away without a parking voucher, although I've always been given one before I could ask.

The issues are many: after making an appointment I felt harassed by them calling and saying make sure you have all your images, etc. The way in which this was said by multiple staff was insensitive and with a lack of customer service.
