This place is really great and the customer service is outstanding. I called at 12:15 pm on a Friday after realizing my BMW 128i was 4 months!!! past due for an oil change. Josh answered the phone and after talking to a tech, they were able to get my car in for service right away. And did I mention a FREE loaner so I could go back to work and pretend to work all the while worried about Betty (yes, I named my car Betty). Josh called me a little later, told me that I need a few other things fixed in addition to the oil change. Given that Betty is almost at 40k and my gas mileage has plummeted, none of these repairs surprised me. Even though I couldn't compare prices with another shop, all the prices seemed reasonable and were probably less than I would have paid at the dealer (who couldn't get my car in until late next week when I called). My car was ready for me to pick up at 5:00pm and they even washed it for me. I am one super happy customer for life now and am looking forward to a sunny weekend driving my convertible Betty. read more

My daughter is a student in Seattle, had her Mini S towed in for repair, busted serpentine belt. I informed Irish that I have an extended warranty plan to cover repairs, during which time he informed me I needed a water pump, friction gear and tensioner to get the car working. After 3 weeks and 2 days I was told that the warranty company authorized a new Mini engine after tear down, and they spoke to the warranty inspector and worked out the job. I asked for a written estimate 3 times, never got one, but a bill of $11,400+! They took my car home without my permission overnight, held my daughter hostage for a balance, after my warranty company paid them in full, less my tow and deductible, which I was happy to pay. Mini of Seattle said a new crated engine is $2700 plus $4500 to install, with tax, about $7,557, so I don't know how the bill got to $11,400+? I could never get the owner John Watkins when I asked for him several times, left messages none of which was returned! The new engine was installed and I took it to Seattle Mini where they found 3 grommets from a shield below, that were missing, and clear water was in the antifreeze overflow bottle. Mini said if it does not change to BLUE color, return for radiator flush and replace water with coolant. 1 week later my daughter said the water turned blue! I had to fly up to Seattle to demand the return of my vehicle, after contacting the Washington Attorney Generals office and requesting the police to respond. The owner had me sign a paper voiding the warranty on the engine because I would not let them take my vehicle in the back to do a so called exit inspection, which was a ruse to DISABLE my vehicle, even offering to take it out back, to wash it--NOPE I don't think so! They may have done a great job on the car, but their business ethics and principles on which they operate, needs improvement and who knows, how many other customers vehicles they joy ride home, under the guise of road testing! That should be done on local roadways during business hours and returned to the shop the same day, unless prior consent or authorization is given before hand, as per Auto Repair Shop consumer affairs rules and regs! Attorney General Office Washington! Another note: They did not want my warranty company to overnight less expensive OEM Mini parts, but instead use their MUCH HIGHER priced parts ...too expensive! $4500 for the same Mini engine at the dealer for $2700? I would not take my vehicle back to Precision Motorworks or recommend their services! In hindsight my daughter should have towed it to her Mini dealer as always! read more

I asked Precision Motorworks to perform a pre-purchase inspection on a 2003 330ci sedan. I primarily talked with Joseph over the phone and he was great. He was very informative and gave me the main bullet points of what the car needed and what should be done later down the road without trying to up-sell me on work. I think Ill be using Precision Motorworks for my further maintenance needs from now on. read more

Never go here again. My daughters BMW came back with more problems than going in. Paid for a rattling noise which turned out to be the gas tank. So they pulled it down and put new bolts in to secure it. Cars front tires were rubbing up against the front tire well which never happened before. We argued that it happened in their shop. They charged us to fix their problem. The gas tank is rattling again and now the parking brake is lose which we fixed months ago with them and was very expensive. My daughter drove the car home from their garage with problems they created. It's been in twice for a problem which turned out to be more than we bargained for. read more

If you have a Mini Cooper, take it to precision. Not only will they get your car in immediately and get it back to you in a blink of an eye, they will give you a rental car, plus do whatever they can to make sure you're taken care of. They literally saved me. My car broke down after 3 different engines. I've spent almost 20,000 on repairs for it and I've only had the car for 3 years. I don't exactly have the money to put back into my car and they made sure I left without a hole in my pocket. Thank you so much precision, I owe you!! My parents and brother all drive BMWs and they will be taking them to u. Trust me, you will not regret taking your car to guys that know what they're doing and genuinely care about their clients. read more

I took my Range Rover for a minor headlight issue. Three guys behind the counter with clip boards they all seemed like sales people. When I asked even the most basic automotive question I was meet with blank stares and shoulder shrugs. Long story short I think they have good mechanics I wish I could have spoken to them work was done on time price was a little high. Just the guys behind the counters were really lame. I took my Volvo to this place for over 9 months and more and more problems kept coming up. Indeed my car is a bit older and so those problems might have been inevitable, however on one occasion I left my car with them and without calling or asking my permission they went ahead and put 300$ worth of parts into my car. After taking my car to a Volvo dealership garage they told me whoever was working on my car last used low grade parts and I now need to replace the entire PCV system, an 800$ repair. I will never take my car there again, or recommend their service to anyone. Be warned. read more

My Audi S4 had valve/cam timing issue a while ago. I took it to Precision and met with Donny, the mechanic assigned to Audi's. The news was not good - and not cheap. Donny explained what the problem was, why it happened and what the remedy was ($10k!). Everything he explained was right on and he let me know during various stages of the repair to come by and take a look at the engine and parts for myself. I love it when you can talk directly with the mechanic, it establishes trust much more than the front counter. We talked through options of replacing other parts while the engine was out, why or why not, and cost. All honesty and open conversation. He got the car back together and there were more problems following - flywheel, power steering, and through the whole painful experience Donny appreciated my position and the cost, and helped out when he could. With European cars everything costs a ton. It's a joke. And it cost so much in labor simply because it usually takes 3-4 hours just to access the part that needs to be replaced, just a fact of life. So while not cheap (who is on German cars?) these guys know what they are doing. Which is paramount. I won't go anywhere else. read more

I love the guys at Precision. Rocco and Karl and everyone there make every effort to help you understand what's going on with your car - and the free loaner Volvos are awesome too. I have a 2000 Volvo XC 70 and it just recently started having problems. Not only has Precision been very fair with the estimates for the work, they've been timely, always throw something extra in, and take the time to explain all the work being done. There's a reason I've been going there for 5+ years. Can't recommend them enough! read more

been there for service 4 times over the past 5 years for a 2000 bmw 3series. they do great work and know their stuff. quality wise 5 stars. but they are pricey, so i'd only recommend if you love your bmw/volvo at all costs and want to keep it maintained at the highest quality but highest cost. read more

I've taken my BMW here for two repairs. My experience has been a nightmare. The first time I had a leaking radiator hose. They replaced the hose an thermostat. My car ran very hot and continued to leak, I took it back to get it fixed for real. I suggested the thermostat. Well at least 5 return trips many other hoses and even a radiator later my car ran right below the red on my temp gage to the point I broke my defrost knob since it was so hot in my car. Over 1200 dollars and still broke. So I have what sounds like a wheel bearing problem. I take my car in and ask about the car still running hot and loosing water, and an oil change. A week later (shouldn't have taken that long but it did) I pick up the car. Hey guess what the @#$ new thermostat they put in fixed the running hot issue somewhere around another $300 but my massive grinding sound in my front end is stil there. The thing they fixed in my steering at about $400 dollars was the suppossed issue. Ehhh wrong answer. I call and make the dude at the counter drive it. He says hey that sounds like a bearing. Well I'm kinda mad at this point cause I need my car to get to work and I'm tired of spending money on a car that isn't getting fixed. After the weekend I pick up my car. The steering is sloppy now but at this point I'm glad I'm done with them. The next day I'm on the freeway and my oil light comes on. I check my oil and I'm a quart low. The didn't change my oil but did charge me the $35 to do it. My review? Don't go to Precision Motorworks Not unless you like wasting money. I've seriously had to return at least 10 times for two repair sessions and well over $2500. Not worth the loaner car at all.... read more

This place is absolutely unbelievable. I cannot say enough good things. I brought my 2003 BMW Z4 in with a coolant system failure, a huge fix by any standards. I needed to be an hour away on the east side that night, and it was an urgent situation. I went in and talked to Josh, who, despite my panicked and mostly incoherent speech was helpful enough and nice enough to fit me in and fix my car that same day. Unbelievably, I drove it to where i needed to be that night, and have had no issues since. That is unlike any other shop in seattle, and even the west coast. If you need a mechanic, then stop looking and call Josh. He's awsome. read more

Took my car a Volvo S80 here because the Goodyear Tire Store told me I needed new struts. I had just bought four new tires and while changing the tires they noticed the front struts were shot. The car only has 30,000 miles and as I learned it would be very unusual for struts to wear out that quickly. Not too mention the car rode very nicely and I had not noticed anything that would indicate the struts needed replacing. I brought the car into Precision Motorworks for a second opinion. They told me it would be $110 for a diagnostic to tell me exactly what was wrong. They called me later that day and said they closely examined the struts and all the parts around them and said everything looked perfect. They then told me it only took them 30 minutes to determine this and charged me $60! The new struts that Goodyear wanted to put on my car were $700 plus dollars! Needless to say I found the guys at Precision to have INTEGRITY and treated me in an HONEST way. I will NEVER go back to Goodyear for anything ever and from now on will take my car to Precision Motorworks!!! read more

I recently took my car to have my alignment checked at Firestone and was told I had about $1,800 in repairs to my shocks, bushings, etc. I had passed by Precision Motorworks everyday for work and decided to try the place out instead of going to BMW. These guys are amazing. Not only do they talk to you like you've been going there for years, they are exceptional at what they do. I received a call and was told half of the items Firestone had said were broken, werent. They quoted me $600 for all my repairs so I added some extra items that had been on my to-do list (fog light repair, belts, etc.). I walked out the door fixing everything on my car and still only paid $1,000. Also, when they called to tell me my car was ready they told me of the $25 coupon on Yelp. I already knew of the coupon but the fact that they volunteered this information is so much appreciated. They also give you a loaner car, which is great. I will not be going anywhere else with my BMW. Thank you!! read more
