Great place and fast service. I took a BMW I bought to them, as it was dying and the entire dash came up with errors. If I turned it off, it restarted and everything seemed okay, but for a service motor. I took it to Precision and thought that is was in for a huge bill. They hooked it up to the computer and saw all sorts of codes. Now I thought I was really in bad shape, but they said it was most likely just a sensor and the cost would not be about $400! Great guys and honest. They could have charged me a lot more and I would never have known it was a semi simple fix. It would have been even cheaper, but they had to remove a bunch of stuff to get to the sensor. They fixed it quickly and I am a very happy customer. read more

My review is strictly based on calling in for a quote and comparing that quote to similar independent BMW shops in the area. I did not choose PGP to work on my car. I called in for a valve adjustment and other specific engine work so I was comparing apples to apples. On both instances prices were more than double comparable independent shops (60-70% higher), and also added on extra services that were deemed unnecessary by those shops, which increased the price considerably. It also took multiple calls and voicemails to get a response back from PGP. I'm sure they do great work based on all of the reviews, but unfortunately they are overpriced in comparison, and do not meet my specific budget. read more

I have been going to Precision German Performance since 2010 when my maintenance period ended on my first BMW. My friend had recommended Precision German Performance to me because I was complaining about a very large quote BMW of Irvine wanted to charge me for some general maintenance, a valve cover gasket and brakes. My first interaction with Kyle was enough to build a long standing relationship. He reviewed the notes from the dealer and informed me he would look over my car and perform the fluid changes. Few hours after the drop off, I received a call stating the car was ready and I could pick up any time. Upon picking up my car I noticed the invoice was a lot less than what I was expecting and he had informed me that valve cover gasket is a very normal wear and tear item for my car but I my gasket was just fine and that my brakes were getting lower but had at least another 3000-4000 miles left on them. I now take all my vehicles to Precision German Performance and only Precision German Performance. As the years went on I now have Precision German Performance service my E36 M3, E46 M3 and E39 M5. Knowing that I had a trustworthy shop to look after my vehicles has given me the courage to reach out and purchase used vehicles that are infamous for breaking the wallet in preventative maintenance and upkeep. The staff at Precision German Performance are all very honest and great to work with. Their pricing is more than fair and they have been my go to shop for 9 years now. I live in Irvine and go out of my way just to ensure my car is in good hands. I couldn't recommend Precision German Performance enough, A++. read more

I first started taking my BMW's here for service in about 2010. Kyle has worked on my 1995 M3, my 1998 328is, and I've also taken my dad's 2000 740i and 2006 M6 here. Any BMW from any era, these guys have the tools and the experience to get the job done. Maintenance is pretty simple I feel, the real area where Precision German Performance shines is in diagnostic repairs. My dad's E38 had a few ailments as it got older, as most seven series' do. PGP was able to pinpoint each specific issue and get it repaired without having to guess and replace parts. Which helps keep costs and time w/o a vehicle to a minimum. I'm currently driving a 2015 M235i, and as soon as the factory maintenance plan expires, PGP will be my go to shop for that vehicle as well. read more

I brought my 1999 BMW Z3 2.8 Roadster to them so they could do the cooling system in my car. Geoff is an amazing person. Very easy to talk to and very respectful. You can ask him about anything and he will give you a straight answer on if it would be a good decision or if he knows of something better. For my cooling system I did some research. I found aluminum radiators for my Z3 that people on the bimmerfourms were recommending. So I took my car to Precision German Performance and spoke with Geoff. He told me that those radiators could leak out of the factory. which I had heard on the forums before talking with him about it. He told me that he could easily use the radiator from a BMW E36 M3. and that it would be a far better cooling system for my car. I told him that I wanted the Stewart water pump and he said that was fine. (I am planning on adding a supercharger in the future) Next day my car was ready... I walk in and talk to Geoff for the overview of my car. He said everything was successful and then he gave me the keys so I could look at the new radiator. One of the best things I like about them is the fact that you can call and text for an update on your car. They will respond very quickly as well! Price was very reasonable! Always good prices. Two things of late: oil needed to be added to the car, I sent my husband to have them add oil, they sold him a full oil change (this sorta made me disappointed). Had a repair done, got my car back with bird poo, the seat far back and reclined (pimp style), and the radio stationed changed..... not the customer service style I expected. I had a great experience with Precision German Performance and can not recommend them enough. They will be getting all my BMW repair business from now on. My wife's 328d stalled in the middle of an intersection and would not run. There were no trouble codes or any engine lights to help tell what the problem was. It just would not run. I know cars and after talking with Marshall at PGP, I could tell that he REALLY knows BMW's. So, I had the car towed to PGP. They were able to find out the problem for a very reasonable price and, without even having to ask, they ran the VIN and told me that that particular part was still under warranty from the dealer! So instead of them trying to get thousands of dollars from me to fix the car, they told me how I could get it done for free! It only cost me a reasonable diagnostic fee. We all know that the dealerships charge an arm and a leg, and you're better off finding a private shop to conduct all repairs. Regardless, owning a BMW is expensive, so if you know you're paying anyway, things that offset the pain of that credit card swipe is amazing service. That is what I experienced working with Geoff at Precision. I called him to describe the apparent problems that my 328i was having per the dealer's diagnosis/assessment. Not only was he extremely detailed and helpful when confirming (and correcting) the dealer's diagnosis, he also shed additional light and guidance on what needed to be addressed more urgently. I'll spare the actual car details, but he basically saved me about $300 (so far) and a priceless amount of time. The best part about all of this was the efficiency. Because I have little flexibility with my work schedule within Precision's business hours, I had to arrange everything by phone, and their after-hours drop off made it incredibly convenient to get the process going. They also were able to send a shuttle to pick up my wife to go and pick up the car for me, all while keeping me updated with phone calls and texts. I contacted Precision German Performance for some major repairs and a new suspension on a friend's recommendation. After talking to Kyle and Marshall on the phone, I felt confident (based on their answers to my questions and their suggestions) that they could handle the job, which entailed a complete subframe reinforcement, new suspension, radiator, and a host of "while you're at it" repairs. I picked up my car yesterday, and I have to say that I am blown away by the quality of the work that was completed, the work ethic, and the communication and transparency throughout the process. If only I could give more stars. My X3 wouldnt start for some reason, Transmission Warning light popped up. I called in but they were just closing but I was able to leave my car there after hours. Got a call the next morning promptly to let me hear the bad news. I would PROBABLY need a new transmission given the diagnosis, but to check further they would have to open up the transmission to get the full diagnosis. So I gave the go ahead. Next day I receive the best news, I dont need a new tranmission. Car wouldnt start because of blown engine control fuse causing a short. Wiring harness had a short for the oil level sender. OVERALL - Super happy, customer service was awesome. For as long as I have a bimmer, Ill be returning to these guys. read more
