Brought my Cadillac CTS-V to Poway's Precision Automotive for a grinding/scraping sound coming from the engine. Eric and his team quickly diagnosed the issue down to an idler pulley and separate tensioner pulley with excessive bearing play. The PPA team quickly sourced the required replacement parts (OEM/OEM equivalent) and repaired my caddy. The 6.2L engine is now running smoothly sounds perfect. My car has had several modifications to boost performance and cooling and these changes made the task more difficult. The PPA handled the repair professionally and with care, explaining the situation and steps they would take during the repair. These folks are great and I will be returning to them for any future repair work needed on any of our cars.

Great service at the Carmel Mountain Valvoline location. I came here because of the reviews, and…read moreI'm glad I did. Chase, the assistant manager, helped me a lot. He was very knowledgeable, professional, humble, kind, and took the time to explain everything step by step. The whole team knew what they were doing, worked cleanly, and stayed well-coordinated throughout the service. They completed everything correctly, topped off the fluids, explained the process clearly, and the price was good. You can also go on the website and get a $15 discount coupon. Overall, I had a great experience and I don't see any issues. I would definitely recommend this location.

But bcuz I needed service from my mechanic I got my last oil change w him before this one. As soon as I pulled up to the bay, the kid that was helping me seemed as though he was not having a good day. We all have them no biggy right? But he was rude from the beginning. I made sure to say nicely that I get full synthetic as I was not sure he would check my account. He went over to the computer and said yes it's right here. I said ok thank you and then left to go into the office and came back and told some other kid that mine was full synthetic and EVAC. I nicely said to him, no EVAC for me I would like it drained from the pan. He came back to the computer and said that my car was EVAC approved. Didn't even explain to me where that even came from when I did not approve it. I said ok that's fine but I would like it drained from the pan not EVAC as my mechanic advised me to have it done going forward. He looked at me and said... "then u should have ur mechanic do ur oil change" I was shocked. And he kept telling me it's what it says in the computer. Sadly I was already over the mileage for my oil change or I would have definitely left and made an appointment w my mechanic. But it didn't stop there. He never checked my fluids or my tires and someone else came to check my lights and blinkers but only from the front. But he made sure to come back and take my payment. Then I realized after pulling out of the bay pretty much on my own he never gave me my receipt. So I had to pull over next to the office to go in and ask for it. No one was in the office so I had to go into the bay to ask someone for it and he came back w a printed copy bcuz obviously the kid that started the process never printed it in the 1st place. It was a nice, convenient place to go w adults having customer service, respect and work ethic. But now it's just run w kids who are rude and no work ethic!

Scripps Ranch

Went in over the weekend for a routine oil change and ended up having a few other maintenance items…read moredone to the truck. We usually go up to the Carmel Mt. location but decided to head over to Scripps Ranch since my son was working over that way and wanted to bring him some food. The staff and service was great! I had a middle brake light replaced and it wasn't easy but the guy was so nice and patient (I felt bad because it is tricky to get the bulb out, but he had no issue and said no problem at all!) My truck is a bit older so most of the services we got I felt were needed and would help me keep my truck longer. I have changed filters and a few things on my own in the past but this go round was easier to have them handle everything. Cost wise for most I do not think was bad. Only thing we passed on was a new battery. I was able to get at Costco for about $100 less. Usually we are in and out in 15 minutes but this go round took about 45 minutes to an hour with everything. Not bad. I did have a coupon for the oil change which saved a bit. They used to have a 20% off of services but I could not find this time (would have been nice since we spent over $600). Last time we went to CMR location and had stuff done on our other car they gave us the discount even though we did not have the coupon. Only issue here is they did not offer that. Both locations have been great and I would go back to Scripps location again if in the area for sure.

Following my service at Valvoline, my vehicle experienced issues related to the cooling system. I…read moresubsequently had the vehicle inspected by a certified independent mechanic at A+ Autocare on 9/25/2026. Upon examining the cooling system, the certified technician identified that the coolant expansion tank cap had been broken. Specifically, the mechanic noted that the damage was directly attributable to improper handling during service, stating that Valvoline "obviously broke it." No coolant issues were identified during the service, and no warning lights were present on the vehicle before the Valvoline service on 9/23/2026. Please note that the Valvoline receipt does not mention any coolant issue. A+ Autocare final evaluation: "We found the expansion tank cap broken in the expansion tank. At this time, the tank and cap need to be replaced for repair." Valvoline has offered zero evidence into not breaking the cap / not can they. No offer to reimburse me for the repairs. Very frustrated with the experience of going in for preventative maintenance and coming out with an issue that didn't exist prior to the service. Seeking damages to my car. Terrible experience.

I don't know how this place can possibly have so many positive reviews because true colors always…read moreshow themselves eventually. Must all be friends and family (I've observed a certain clientele there). I took my vehicle in, against my better judgment, for a simple oil change because the place was convenient and I'd gone there once before without incident. I'm always prepared for shops like this upselling and giving me a laundry list of needed repairs, which I always take with a grain of salt. There was one repair, however, that I knew needed to be done and it was simple enough that I was actually going to take it back to them at a later date because, again, convenience. However, shortly afterwards I had to take my vehicle to my regular mechanic for something else and they did a COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC, which Midas did NOT do, and I learned that a number of the things Midas said needed repair were, in fact, not necessary, and one was major. When I called them to discuss this, the person I spoke with (I never really can understand him) immediately became extremely rude and aggressive and kept insisting I was being "disrespectful" (as he was practically yelling at me) by going to another mechanic and not "trusting his service" and proceeded to quickly hang up. In my 50+ years of dealing with mechanics and businesses of every kind, I have never once experienced anyone so rude and unprofessional. If you are a professional running a business, there is never any excuse for hanging up on a customer. Ever. Apparently he doesn't understand that customers have every right, in this country, to go wherever they want whenever they want, get second opinions and other estimates, and that no one owes them their loyalty, especially if it hasn't been earned. I suspect it all had something to do with a bruised ego and a woman challenging his expertise. I literally was going to give him a chance to do the right thing. After all, I'd had a thorough diagnostic done and they themselves admitted in the beginning that they couldn't really see what the problem was (since they didn't do an actual diagnostic). When it comes to an oil leak, guess work rarely cuts it. Word of mouth really is the best advertising there is and people like this seem to forget that. I will never stop telling people about this shop and if you're someone who reads this review and chooses to use them anyway, consider yourself warned. I shudder to think how much it would have cost me (1k min.) if I had "trusted" his "service."
