Idk why everyone's giving 5 star reviews. Took my car in for an oil change and the very next day my wire to one of my cylinders was clipped. Like a clean cut. Check engine light when on as it was only running on 7 cylinders. This was a 2017 charger rt with less than 30,000 miles. Anyways come back one guy tells me (from my pics) that obviously someone tampered with it. The owner manager comes out shoos him away. And then takes me to my car to show me "rat chewed" wires. Now it looked worse than before and they legit tried to make it look like an animal bit. This place is such a joke. They fried my ECU. I told dodge about it and felt so bad for me (I was in tears) showed the before pics of the clean cut and they after pics of when they tampered with it more. The dealer was dumbfounded and god protected me and he covered it under warranty. ECU was a 2,000 dollar part with out the wiring harness. Also dodge said the wiring harness they tried to fix was what fried my ECU. Drive the car there but had to tow it dodge. Worst place ever glad the other place shut down. Accurate Automotive is an unobtrusive rare find tucked away behind a U-haul store of all things. I discovered Accurate though an internet search to find a shop to diagnose a suspected head gasket leak. Their diagnosis was thorough and confirmed my fears. Previously, I had taken my vehicle to a well know LA tuner that was more than happy to optimize vehicle performance but never thought to check for fundamental issues - like a failed head gasket! I had previously researched San Diego performance shops and found most were happy to bolt on parts and apply a "canned" tune from some distant provider. However, most are hesitant or incapable of engine disassembly and repair. I researched reviews of Accurate Automotive, asked around and found a host of satisfied customers - so I took a chance and entrusted my vehicle to them. The head and block were inspected in detail. A burnt exhaust valve was discovered and valve seat re-machined. Head and block deck fortunately were fine. Accurate further discovered and repaired a leaking oil line and faulty turbo fitting. The work was conscientious and performed correctly and at reasonable cost. The vehicle has not run this good for some time now. They have since become my go to shop if I want work done correctly and fairly. read more

I came in with a specific problem and instead of treating me like a silly woman that doesn't know cars, they had a diagnosis that agreed with my initial assessment. I absolutely HATE taking my car in for any work, almost as much as I hate going to a dentist! My air conditioner went out on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was 7 months past the 36 month warranty but 12,000 miles under the 36,000 limit. So I took it into the local dealer I bought it from on a Friday and was told he would not have a tech available to look at it until the following Monday so I had no choice but to make an appointment then. I drove up the street to PPA and spoke to Dirk (the owner). They took it in immediately and called me later with the problem. It seems I had a leak in the evaporator and they could do the necessary work for me right away. Another immediate problem I was having was that I had family visiting from out of town and I had loaned my other car to them. Dirk made arrangements for a rental car for me while they were working on my Jeep. On top of all that my guests were leaving town on Sunday and my wife was leaving town early Monday morning so I was all messed up. Dirk called me on Monday and said the job was completed and ready for pickup. I was very pleased at that as the dealer I originally went to wasn't going to look at it until that day. I just needed to get my son to provide a ride to PPA for the pick up. Then Dirk offered to send one of his guys to give me a ride. I have NEVER had this type of EXCEPTIONAL service from ANY auto dealership or service agency. I will be taking my car problems to PPA in the future. This is how a business should be run. My car had stalled on me in the middle of the road while driving and I called Triple A to have it towed to an authorized repair shop and they had me go to PPA. Where Eric the manager quickly came outside and assisted with helping get the vehicle off the tow since it would not go into neutral and trying to discover what the issue could have been. I left my vehicle with Eric and his team for a day and they were immediately able to come back to me with some answers on my Alfa Romeo even though they had never really worked on any before they managed to shed light on what the problem was and some other faulty work that was done by Mossy Alfa Romeo and pointed me in the right direction as to getting my repairs. These guys are a very family oriented business and they welcomed me and my family with open hands and provided us with quality customer service. Thanks again Eric! I went in for a routine oil change.I was then told I needed a new rear main oil seal $$$ and urged to leave it with them cause the leak would get worse and the engine would blow. I didn't have the money (luckily) and was worried for weeks.I then took it to a "fast oil change" type place for an oil change thinking it would prolong my main seal problem.They told me the seal was fine but the oil pan drain plug needed replacing($25).They wiped off the underside of the car so any leaking would be easy to spot .I went back to the oil change place a week later so they could look underneath for me. And there were no leaks.And now 6,000 miles later - NO SEAL LEAK (there never was).That's my experience with PRECISION TUNE POWAY.Thank goodness I didn't have the money they wanted.Ive never been so happy to have been broke.So if you go there I STRONGLY recommend a second opinion on any repairs they say you need. read more

Beware of bringing your vehicles at Smog stations that has a repair shop. I recently brought my 1994 Honda Civic in this shop for an oil change from a Groupon and decided to do a smog, as well. The owner called me and said my car failed the smog test and I should come in so we can discuss options.They said my car overheats and needs a brand new radiator. They even offered my next smog free after paying $50 for smog if I choose to have it fixed in their shop. I refused and said I have a mechanic. I was skeptical and brought my car two buildings down to Poway Smog Station, an establishment that does nothing but smog checks. SURE ENOUGH MY CAR SMOG CHECK THE SECOND TIME AROUND PASSED. Lesson for the day: Never ever bring your car in a smog station that has a car repair facility as well. After this incident, I will never bring my car in this place coz I do not trust any of their business dealings. It was my first time to use this station and I will not bring my business here again. I took my car here a month ago and I was pleased with the service it took the couple of hours they had left in the day and overnight but only because it was spur of the moment for me since my vehicle was dying at every stop and had lack of power for the whole drive there. I had a misfire on my car and they fixed it. To me the prices felt a little steep but then again I've very hesitant when it comes to spending money so. But one thing i didn't really like was that they seperated my Catalytic converter from the pipe that leads to the muffler on my exhaust in order to diagnose if it was my cat. Hammered it back together after saying it was ok, and now when I drive there is a rattling from my catalytic converter. 9might be the shield? but i've not had the time nor money to go back and get it fixed.) replacing a cat costs 300 bucks alone for the part. btw, I failed smog today at a different shop. They blamed my "ratty cat". The owners are really cool though. They were punctual about calling me when they said they would to ask me if I could authorized work that had to be done. My wife's 240-SX needed a new air-conditioning unit that we had Brian and crew put in late last year. Well, it worked for awhile, but then nothing but hot air was blowing out into the cabin. Came in and found out that the seals had somehow come loose so it was fixed, what, 5 months later... all well and COLD now in the car. We bring our other car here, too. Wouldn't trust anyone else!!! I have been going to Poway Accurate Automotive for a few years now. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Brian, the manager, is fantastic! He tells you as it is and like today when I went in and needed a BMW YAW rate sensor. He called BMW and they wanted over $1,300 for the part so he looked it up on eBay and found it for $169. So I purchased it off eBay and saved $1,100. A lot of other repair places wouldn't bother to find a cheaper price on a part. They spent a few hours on my car determining what was wrong with it plus fixing a small gasket leak. He didn't charge me anything even though they spent a lot of time on it. While I was there a lady came in and needed some help with her trunk latch and he never charged her saying it only took them 30 seconds to fix it. Because of the great reviews, I decided to pay a visit to this repair shop. Unfortunately, I was BEYOND disappointed. It all started in March when my car needed repairs on a check engine light because I needed to pass smog. They took the car in and started to get us a diagnosis (free of charge) but began making repairs without our authorization, thereby robbing us of upwards of $300. Fine, we dealt with that but with much annoyance as they did not fix the issue, they only hid it. So it was to my amazement that we failed smog FIVE TIMES. Hoping to get some sort of a fix we brought the car in for a diagnosis to see if they could fix the problem. The guy at the counter refused to take responsibility for their botched repair and tried to rob us of $150 just for a diagnosis because it was a "failed smog diagnosis" which, by the way, was the same diagnosis we asked for earlier that was free of charge. I will never return and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a quality repair with customer satisfaction. read more

Called in for a Smog Check appointment. Always check the coupon magazines for a smog check coupon as there is always one in there for a smog check every month for this shop. When I got in, Brian went over the paperwork super quick & then did the smog check. I was out in 10 minutes, when I was expecting it to be done in 30. Needless to say, I am making an appointment here every time for a smog check from now on. Only flaw is it was a little hard to find the place as the address leads you to another smog shop, maybe it's Google's fault. Came here because of $30 smog coupon. He didn't honor the coupon and he said it doesn't apply on cars that are year '95 and older. The coupon did not say that. Since I was already there, I bit the price he quoted me. This is like a "bait and switch" tactic for you to come and then he will switch. The car didn't pass and he said I have to pay for a retest If i fix the car myself. He doesn't offer a free retest. I should have went straight to Poway Smog Test Shop instead of this place. Poway Smog offers free retest. Don't waste your money here. They will bait and switch you. read more
