Overall the food was good, not great. The service was just eh. Had so many problems from start to finish it's hard to remember them all. They never had our reservation to start. Then finally after 40 minutes sat outside in the chilly weather. Then the weather did not cooperate and it started to rain so inside were went and had to be split at 2 different tables. Manager told us he would take care of us. We never even got an appetizer or impeccable service. To add to it my email was never responded to. Use your money and time wisely and go someplace else. On a slow weekday, the manager greeted us and explained all the nightly specials and some of his recommendations. The food is mediocre and unexciting. The server and manager recommendations of Zucchini Flowers and Burata Pizza were OK. Our group was unimpressed with the quality and the menu options. The service was shotty; sporadic and different servers showed up (making it a little confusing). The runner actually dropped a piece or hot pizza on me. Listen, accidents happen and I didn't want to make a huge deal of it to the kid who was obviously working hard. BUT I was disappointed in the nonchalant response from management. We had to ASK to be comped for the pizza, which was awkward and definitely not ideal. I wouldn't recommend Prato 850 for anything more than a wing and drink deal during a football game. read more

Last night, I dined at Prato 850 with my mother and boyfriend! My mom had just tripped, and she was in a great deal of pain. Immediately, they sat us down and gave her a chair to elevate her foot. That was very nice of them, but now onto the food... As someone who is slowly trying to become a full vegetarian, I am starting to solely order from the vegetarian/vegan menus. Prato 850 has a very veggie accommodating menu, which is why I actually chose to come here. I ordered the italian falafel flatbread, my boyfriend got the Prato Burger, and my mom got the fig and balsamic pizza. On the menu, it said my flatbread would have cucumbers, roasted tomato, pickled onions, romaine, and roasted peppers in addition to the falafels. No joke, when I got the meal, it was just bread PACKED with mozzarella cheese and the falafels, not to mention it was drenched in some type of vinegar that wasn't on the menu. I do not like cheese either and it was not listed on the menu. I'm not the most confrontational person because I always try to be nice, but I called over the waiter and politely told him that was not what I ordered. He agreed with me and brought out a different version of the sandwich around 5 minutes later. Despite not having piles of cheese like the last version, all the second dish had was the bread and falafels. None of the veggies on the menu were on it, so I had to dip it into my boyfriends ketchup to make it semi palatable. Needless to say, that was pretty gnarly. My mom thought her pizza was okay and my boyfriend really enjoyed his burger. My mom and I tried one of his truffle fries, and we agreed it was the best bite of the meal...by far. In addition to this mess, these three plates took at least 40 minutes to come out. Take note, it was 5:30 on a thursday. I really don't enjoy giving scores like these but it was truly not a pleasant dining experience. However, our server was VERY accommodating to my mother which is the ONLY reason why I'm giving two stars. I really wanted to like this place because I spend a good amount of time in the Commack area, but I should really start looking elsewhere now. read more

I recently ate here for brunch with my fiancé and our mothers. We had a very nice experience. We started the meal with an order of wings. We had them cooked dry with the Buffalo and honey barbecue sauces on the side. The wings were a great size and cooked well. The Buffalo sauce was fantastic. For our entrees both my mom and I ordered the Short rib and potato hash, my fiancé ordered the no carb-onara, and her mom ordered the classic burger. The short rib hash was absolutely incredible. The short rib was very tender, the egg was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were very crunchy. My fiancé's zucchini pasta was okay. The taste was good, but the dish was very watery. My fiancé mom stated that her burger was good. Her truffle fries were excellent. Overall, we had a a great time. The service was friendly and kind. OMG worst service ever in my life took like 15 minutes to be approached to get a drink place wasn't even busy ...once we did finally get drinks I literally had to walk up to the bar to get another round because I was waiting soooo long...my bill was over 200 bucks and although the manager was nice he didn't seem to get up and help his staff who were obviously doing a terrible job .... to spend that kind of money for such horrible service pisses me off ...the food was very good but I was in such a bad mood from having to wait so long for everything we wanted or needed I don't know if I'll be back ...I'd rather have ok food and great service nothing is worse to me then paying to go out to eat and the service is so bad you don't even wanna stay to get your food read more

Have been here a few times and the servers are always very friendly/bubbly and food is always reliable. My favorite thing is the Buffalo chicken pizza. All of their pizzas are really good including the drunken burrata. Their cauliflower crust is also great! They have very cool cocktail selections. I also enjoy their truffle fries and calamari trio. The bottomless mimosas where 99% OJ. I ordered the Oreo pancakes and no amount of chocolate and crumbled Oreos could disguise the fact that the pancakes were super dry and burnt. The service was OK but super slow. Now I wouldn't mind being there for the 2.5 hrs I was there had I had better seating but again I was in the bar area. I've tried really hard to like this place cause the restaurant itself is pretty and there aren't that many fancy looking brunch restaurant options in the area but this was the last straw. For any families with children looking for a nice calm dinner. DO NOT COME HERE. I called ahead to insure bringing a young baby here in a stroller was ok. I was assured it would be fine, but boy did they lie. It was a Sunday evening and the music was crankedddd up, and lights low like a night club on a Friday night.
